Blogger Desired Youth said ... (1:05 AM) :

That Céline bag is amazing.
It is weird that it is still friday in California but your post says Saturday so hello to the time zone you are in!

Blogger Nedda Ebo said ... (1:18 AM) :

sadly I don't like this much. I love vintage-looking things, but some of them, like this bag, just don't fancy me.

Blogger xobriellebellxo said ... (1:19 AM) :

Beautiful, like a landscape. Fashion should be natural. I love how you captured this. I adore your work.

Love,
Brielle D'Alessio

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:51 AM) :

All the patterns work so well because they are in the same tone and have similar size scale. Interesting and creative without being over the top. well done!

Blogger stylespotterfashionblogger said ... (1:51 AM) :

Both androgynous and vintage. Love it! The bag is great!

This is good. I want to copy cat.

Blogger Stephanie said ... (2:19 AM) :

For once, brown does not look dull. It's such a hard colour to pull off.

Anonymous FvaD. said ... (3:03 AM) :

I love it , and
I love the way the photo is cropped !

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:04 AM) :

I've noticed a lot of abstraction in the most recent posts. Detail shots like this beautiful photo, as well as head-and-shoulders portraits, and even the few black and white photos; all are deviations from the signature Sartorialist photo. Even the recent vintage photo contest is a deviation from the usual format.

Personally, I appreciate experimentation, and I feel your strongest voice has always been visual- Your photos don't need supplementary text or 'prose' about your opinion on the look, because you illustrate it in the photos themselves. Let your photography speak for itself.

Subtle&Bold

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:18 AM) :

I had all those items in the eighties, but wore never all of them together. Only two or three. What a difference that makes!

Anonymous jane said ... (3:32 AM) :

l-o-v-e the bag, the slacks, the scarf, the blazer.. perfection*

Blogger Barbara von Enger said ... (3:36 AM) :

Earth tones, a splash of colour with the neckline, and trousers I adore. I might also add that her bag is enviable too. Love the pattern contrast of jacet and trousers. xoxo

Python with tweed! Who would have thought...

Blogger Danya Taymor said ... (4:01 AM) :

I say this is a woman, my boyfriend says it is a man. Who is right?

Blogger fig said ... (4:11 AM) :

I've got exact purse from years ago. The smaller bag looks modern, again, definitely easier on the shoulder, back to shopping in ones own closet!

Anonymous tokyostargirl said ... (4:24 AM) :

Blogger Oedipus Flex said ... (5:06 AM) :

Love the androgyny here, I'd be just as happy wearing it as meeting a nice young lady wearing it, though in the latter I would probably ask to borrow her scarf.

I think the best thing about this combination is the different sizes and shapes of the prints, fused in harmony by the similar shade of colour.

at a quick glance there seem to be too much going on, but somehow it works - and beautifully at that.
The bag is fantastic! I love seeing a structured bag after all the soft sack-like huge things that have been so popular for so long.

Blogger Tifftonians said ... (11:22 AM) :

I am not sure if I would appreciate the brown combination as much as I do when I see this picture if the shot was taken inside.

What strikes me is the blue sky that makes this wonderful contrast.
The peace of the backgroud in contrast with the "grittiness" of the patterns and the wildness of the purse's leather.

Congrats Mr. Schuman

Love, love, love this bag, and will be hopeful to find something akin to my own through Celine.

Many, many thanks!

Blogger kathrynnova said ... (8:29 PM) :

the bag is beautiful, of course, but it just resembles the real anatomy of the snake it was made from and it makes me a little squeamish - and this is coming from someone who has three python bags (of course, though, not celine).

anyway, i'm rambling...
