Incredible photograph . . . not just the girl, but the whole background. What a great look she has - and what fantastic hair!

Blogger Nadine2point0 said ... (9:45 AM) :

It's so interesting when a combination of clothes speaks to a personl style, but as was just said, alone those pieces would be a bit dull.
LOVE the boots!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:45 AM) :

Lovely MARNI shoes!!!!!!!

Blogger Brigadeiro said ... (9:48 AM) :

Love those Marni shoes! I don't suppose she was cycling in that short skirt/ high heels combination?

Blogger Ginta said ... (9:48 AM) :

Blogger louise or valentine said ... (9:53 AM) :

Blogger John B Pritchett said ... (9:55 AM) :

This is one I have a hard time defining. Boots, shirt and hair say winter, short skirt says summer. Skirt is cute shirt is sloppy... whew! I think I need a Xanax lol!

Blogger S. said ... (9:59 AM) :

Actually CW, she can ride her vie just fine. I do it all the time in heels and skirts.

Heels on a bike are no problem at all. She just needs to be strategic with the skirt - unless she's devil-may-care.

Blogger Oh Dear Charlotte said ... (10:00 AM) :

vvvvv chic... and yes the shoes!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:19 AM) :

I appreciate how the chrome of her boots echoes the chrome fenders of the bike.

Blogger Camilla' s Diary said ... (10:22 AM) :

THE SHOES ROCKS!!!

Blogger SuzieM said ... (10:24 AM) :

she looks so lovely and yet, so natural...

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:26 AM) :

Yes, this looks so lower east side and so out of place on Madison av. New York.

Blogger simon said ... (11:13 AM) :

Ok, no, alright, that's a no.

Blogger Meg said ... (11:16 AM) :

Great photo, looks like spring time has arrived to lower East side, and I am lovin' it.

Skirts and bikes and boots can go together, honestly, it is more the vehicles and other people to 'skirt around' that I find difficult riding around in city.

xo

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:30 AM) :

I love this. If I had the hair and legs, I would totally wear this. Oh, and I don't ride a bike. She looks like a young (and dressier) Patti Smith. The skirt is an unexpected contrast to the casualness of the top and boots. Love it. Love the stop sign in the background. Who is she?

Blogger VerseaStyle said ... (11:37 AM) :

I really like inspiration like this. I am breaking out of my comfort zone and experimenting with patterns and colors!

Anonymous OrganicBloom said ... (12:49 PM) :

sandal-yes! her hair is pretty but seems to be used to hide her face/eye. for lady godiva hair was an accessory, in this photo hair is a crutch.

Seems like an interesting play of volume

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:53 PM) :

It takes a lot of courage to wear something like this. It's so clashing and wonderful at the same time. And the hair!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:00 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:51 PM) :

very cool...though her legs are mottled with cold and it feels like the confidence is slipping because of the child-size skirt.

Anonymous Elizabeth J. said ... (12:42 AM) :

Sad I missed you while you were in the hood, Scott.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:55 AM) :

This is one of those "je ne sais quoi" outfits that, on paper, shouldn't work but in practice looks fantastic. Love the way she finesses the sandals-with-socks look... one has to look twice to see that she's not wearing boots. And a previous poster's right--she does have a Patti Smith vibe!

Blogger Sara Lee Bentley said ... (4:14 AM) :

Ooh, the shoes!!

I like the stop sign.

to be perfectly honest, new york fashion tends to leave me cold. it's part of the reason i left new york and moved to milan instead.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:42 AM) :

A tough look softened with a pleated skirt and wonderful long hair. beautiful contrast.

Anonymous Joanna Roman said ... (5:42 AM) :

O yeah! Great stylish lady!
She looks just wonderful from top to toe!

Anonymous Joanna Roman said ... (5:46 AM) :

Aiii!!! I HAVE JUST NOTICED AFTER SECOND GLANCE: SHE HAS A KEY-RING WITH La Tour d'Eiffel!!!

That's not a coincidence, Mr. Schuman ? :-))

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:39 AM) :

haha nice hair..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:51 AM) :

Funny, heads down, her outfit is very contemporary (love the striped top and the boots!). Yet this photo reminds me of Franz Von Stuck's painting and his women - dark, strong, and mysterious - a proper femme fatale.
Its her posture, the mass of hair, and the lighting that does it, I think.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:37 AM) :

Mircat is a lovely, striped delight!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:52 AM) :

i like her skirt

Anonymous princess glee said ... (12:59 PM) :

She looks great. I have similar shoes and will be sportin' those babies today avec socks!

Blogger Michael Joseph Owens said ... (5:41 PM) :

Latter-day Patti Smith. Awesome.

Blogger Grete said ... (9:12 PM) :

It's pretty obvious those are heels with socks, why do people keep referring to them as boots?

Blogger Dimity said ... (9:18 PM) :

I love that this whole thing feels so New York, even her Eiffel tower key chain.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:18 PM) :

Love her hair but don't like the outfit at all. There's too much going on.

Blogger Elisa Avelar said ... (10:35 PM) :

Own !!! Bicicleta + sandália alta + meias + chaveiro = elegância = scott e suas lindas lentes !!!
Um beijo, smac!

Anonymous Leniseyjinio said ... (7:44 AM) :

Nice comments here

Blogger mia said ... (2:23 PM) :

love the shot and her style

Blogger Natasha Creimer Anspach said ... (6:51 PM) :

To have hair that long u need to either style it on a braid, ponytail, bun, straighten it, curl it, I don't know.... Otherwise you look like Cousin It......... Can't barely see her! The outfit is predictable, love the boots and the fact she hangs around Ludlow makes up for any faux pas. Just love the LES!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:32 PM) :

im in love with the effortless pose. great work on capturing such ease!

Blogger Ro said ... (9:00 AM) :

she lloks gorgeous, but i dont think she's wearing the perfect outfit for a ride on her bike...

Anonymous erika said ... (3:14 PM) :

nice skirt! why is everyone saying "nice boots?" they look like strappy shoes with socks to me!

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:51 PM) :

'ㅁ'

Blogger loves rugs :) said ... (9:51 AM) :

Oh my gosh, Miranda is that you???? It's Katy the rug girl! Why does this not surprise me that I found you here! too funny! Hope to bump into you again at another Alex shin dig.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:31 PM) :

Yikes! Not a well put together look in my opinion. I don't like the skirt (at least not with that outfit), the striped sweater doesn't work with it and the boots aren't attractive. Even her long, thick hair isn't working. Sorry, but this seems like a miss to me...

Blogger Attest.us Team said ... (2:05 AM) :

beautiful girl

Anonymous Olivia Hopper said ... (2:48 AM) :

That outfit is all sorts of wrong. And that horse hair... yeesh.
