thank you. :)

Blogger Blanca said ... (5:47 PM) :

Wow, the pictures are different, but I like both.
Love the leader jacket.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:47 PM) :

prefer the look a year ago. More intriguing

Blogger Clare said ... (5:50 PM) :

Wow, she's changed a lot! She's gone from Gareth Pugh-ish to Jil Sander-esque...

tweet tweet tweet

Anonymous Natasha said ... (5:53 PM) :

her style is still really cool but the new hair cut definately adds an edge (i love it) and shows off those blue eyes!

Anonymous Marlené Lilianna said ... (5:53 PM) :

through her timeline she is still looking great

Blogger myra ◦° said ... (5:54 PM) :

Her look has softened... still amazing!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:54 PM) :

A cool chameleon, but least the crossed arms offers a bit of continuity.

P.S. I heart this blog!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:01 PM) :

it reminds me of the sandy transition in grease, but opposite.

Blogger BRENDA said ... (6:05 PM) :

I like the jacket so much!
Beautiful eyes. I prefer the second style.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:16 PM) :

At one point I must say she used to look better....The hair's better...

Blogger Henri said ... (6:17 PM) :

Great leather jacket. I love the unnecessary zips.

Blogger Daphne said ... (6:22 PM) :

I love that she's grasping your book. And she is amazing. He pose remains!!

Blogger KyleCuviello said ... (6:22 PM) :

pretty badass looking jacket "then" i like it

Blogger Sara Hilmars said ... (6:24 PM) :

So chic! xx

Blogger Aline said ... (6:31 PM) :

I have your book too!!!!!!!!!
Love it!

Blogger lintmag said ... (6:38 PM) :

Hmm..first softer hair, harder jacket, then tough hair with softer jacket - but the same stance in both. I think I like earlier look better but it's great to try new things!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:11 PM) :

Its like looking at two different people. She is definetly amazing in any look. But she has certaintly got to return to her previous one.
Love her huge eyes and her leather jacket.

Blogger Ganymede Girl said ... (7:13 PM) :

I remember this older photo! I like her hair better wavy but her outfit in the first is a lot more my taste. She's gorgeous.

Blogger Gary MAEL said ... (7:14 PM) :

Nice, I love her white shirt collar. Apart from this I prefer her previous look, but she still looks good anyway. She likes crossing her arms !

Blogger FASHION SNAG said ... (7:14 PM) :

Love the straight cut! x

Blogger Criteriamour said ... (7:24 PM) :

Looked good then, even better now.

Anonymous Dana said ... (7:24 PM) :

Both looks are great. I think she looks happier in the first and newer photograph.

Blogger Gon said ... (7:26 PM) :

I think she looks awsome now! Very chic ;D

Blogger Don said ... (7:28 PM) :

Both photos are engaging- she got the attitude!

Blogger Sara Szatmary said ... (7:33 PM) :

It may just be me... but she looks like she's fallen in love since you last saw her :)

Blogger Karena said ... (7:39 PM) :

Great looks, great jacket!

Art by Karena

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:57 PM) :

I can't get over the difference in her personality from one to the other. Looks like an older sister in the first, as if she has grown up. As to the style, great in both.

Blogger Emma said ... (8:12 PM) :

I love the fact that she looks so different, yet so the same. I mean you can still tell its her style and her, but she has changed all the same as well.

Blogger Alyce said ... (8:12 PM) :

I agree with dana. I probably like the style better in the second/older photo, but her eyes look so much happier in the first/newer photo and that completely changes everything. Happiness is far more attractive than a beautiful dress.

Anonymous Time Counter said ... (8:37 PM) :

Her "then" photo was definitely sexy with attitude. Her "now" photo is so refreshing. There's so much clarity in her new style it's almost preppy. It's just much cleaner. I hope she alternates. I think people should always change themselves; it surprises people.

Blogger The Fashion Alchemist said ... (8:43 PM) :

she is beautiful! I love the "then" look, but it's interesting how her facial expressions change!

Anonymous The Photodiarist said ... (9:19 PM) :

Now is cool, but then is truly gorgeous.

Blogger DianaL said ... (9:31 PM) :

awesome pics!

Blogger Lady Danger said ... (10:09 PM) :

wow i remember the first photo, both are fantastic but i like the curly hair hair in the second one better, love the juxtaposition though!

the improper collective

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:09 PM) :

Her eyes look so seriously bored in the first image and so doefully awake in the second. It's great that her style between the two shots can't be compartmentalized. She's very striking!!!

Blogger kathrynnova said ... (11:02 PM) :

same mannerisms, same girl - but worlds different simply because of her haircut. how interesting that sometimes that's all it takes....

i love this post.

Blogger Brigadeiro said ... (11:42 PM) :

Wow! Totally different look! I'm partial to a trench...Burberry?

Blogger bird of light said ... (12:03 AM) :

So cool ;) now she looks woken up!
Relating to her sense of expression... her presence (and may I add, my opinion is that in the current photo - her simple ensemble does not diminish her individuality or appeal). x

Blogger arpita said ... (12:11 AM) :

well.. the earlier girl looks soft ..cute.. childlike.. theres a kind of sensibility which is seen in the 'now' pic....certainly there is a morphe....

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:13 AM) :

My goodness, that's more than a style change, it's an attitude change -- there is a real smile on that face which makes whatever she's wearing look great.

Blogger agnes said ... (1:50 AM) :

She has moved from ingenue wanna be to writer and director of her own life..Bravo

Anonymous cociolph said ... (1:50 AM) :

Rock vs post-rock.

Blogger indidropkick said ... (1:56 AM) :

her look is fresher, younger and edgier ... does she have your book under her arm ?

Blogger Ashley said ... (2:12 AM) :

She looks more polished now. And she is carrying THE book!

Anonymous Kazuko said ... (2:22 AM) :

like two different decades! at least :)

Blogger Felice said ... (2:24 AM) :

did you shoot her twice by chance?

Blogger Julia said ... (3:25 AM) :

Such photos are always interesting to look at, I think the now version of her is softer, kinder...

Blogger Dillon Padgette said ... (3:55 AM) :

It truly is ALL in the attitude. The sparkle in her eye, in the first photo is so subtly charming. The blue gleaning of her eyes, with her facial roundness, effortlessly pouted lips, chopped hair and that buttoned collar, she strikes me with a welcoming youthful charm; this integral feeling to what ever and where ever she's going with her day... and to wonder... what she's reading...

And in the progression, well we may not be so quick to answer... but I wonder if she broke into laughter after she was photographed.

Blogger what dia like said ... (3:57 AM) :

lovely pictures!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:01 AM) :

prefer look1

Anonymous Sophia said ... (4:04 AM) :

Love how her hair has gotten edgier while the coat is not as hard as the biker jacket. Plus the continuation of the 'popped' collar.
- Sophia.

Blogger SARA said ... (4:20 AM) :

The change is not bad, but I prefer the then.

Blogger Elizabeth said ... (5:00 AM) :

LOVE her style now. So clean, simple and preppy.

Blogger Barbara said ... (5:02 AM) :

Looks fresher and younger, but she's a peach anyway, and she'll always be gorgeous.

Blogger Amy said ... (5:23 AM) :

i love these posts! to see the passing of time through style and person.

Anonymous Romain from France said ... (5:59 AM) :

She looks like January Jones now, love your pictures, hold on!

Blogger THESTREETFASHION5XPRO said ... (6:33 AM) :

amazing jacket

Blogger Johanna Urban said ... (6:52 AM) :

I love her new hairstyle!!! :D

Anonymous costume jewellery said ... (7:30 AM) :

Looks more confident now.

Blogger Cate said ... (8:52 AM) :

Love both of the looks!
x. Cate

Anonymous Snow said ... (9:40 AM) :

I prefer her second look, because it looks more confident and very cool.. what did she do with her hair? It looks so different? Like she had her hair permed.

Blogger C said ... (10:25 AM) :

Her cute new hairstyle is Vika inspired perhaps? I like her old look alot too, looking at them together its like two sisters, the studious one and the party girl!

Anonymous Desiree said ... (11:01 AM) :

I love these outfits!

Blogger The Dandelion Tamer said ... (1:40 PM) :

Would love it if you did more of these "year apart" pieces - with folks of many different ages/periods in their life: pre-divorce; post-divorce...

In the older shot, she looks like she hasn't quite grasped the chalice, or set her compass; in the second, she is grounded, clear-eyed, and ready for biz.

Amusing and entertaining because I'd bet you're getting viscerally polar takes on this pair.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:50 PM) :

i remenber her !
she is still very cute.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:24 PM) :

Looks like this lady has learned a lot in a year.

Blogger Izzen said ... (3:17 PM) :

She looks happy now.

Blogger Davidikus said ... (3:22 PM) :

I think I like the "old" hairstyle better but she still looks very very good.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:54 PM) :

gained some polish, lost some edge. not an advantageous trade, IMO

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:26 PM) :

The short hair in the first pic looks so unflattering on her! The 2nd one is much better. Love the jackets she's wearing though!

Anonymous garry said ... (5:03 PM) :

love -

no seriously love!

Blogger Isabelle said ... (5:13 PM) :

this is so cute. i loove her new hair!!

Blogger Stephen said ... (6:06 PM) :

Much rather the bottom look, including the hair.

Blogger Ira said ... (6:34 PM) :

how lovely the light hits the edges of the collar on the furst picture...

Blogger The Widow of Upper East Side said ... (7:00 PM) :

This is what I'm talking about. Why do these people purposely try to make themselves out to be uglier than they are? It makes no sense. Here is an article I wrote about the subject on my site

The article is titled "the dilemma" Here is the link:

Blogger Sharifa said ... (7:05 PM) :

LOOK 2 is flawless. See how much can chnage in one year?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:38 PM) :

she looks more content now

Blogger lauren lanza osias said ... (11:06 PM) :

be a follower, not a hater

Blogger Lord Whimsy said ... (11:10 PM) :

Such a stunning young woman, but I'm surprised so many people prefer the earlier look instead of the later, more sophisticated look. I see no "edge" in the earlier look: it's a bit too predictable. She's getting smarter with her choices. Good for her!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:58 PM) :

She looks great in both photos but a little sad in the second one. I hope it has been a good year for her.

Blogger Ro said ... (8:55 AM) :

beauty remains the same

Blogger sofia said ... (9:32 AM) :

love her hair right now!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:22 PM) :

She looks so much better now.

Blogger Montreal Street Views said ... (1:57 PM) :

Now wins hands down!

Blogger Erin said ... (8:16 PM) :

The second look is more complimentary, though you can see in her eyes that she is happier now. I love that.

Anonymous Helen said ... (2:12 AM) :

She's adorable in both photos but somehow I like the recent one more. She appears far more self assured now with the way she looks, clear eyed and amused, straight down the lens of the camera rather than peaking out in an almost bored way from behind her hair as she did a year ago. This young woman looks ready for any adventure, a willing, engaged, joyful participant in life.

Anonymous Cecylia said ... (4:15 AM) :

The girl in the leather jacket is so beautiful

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:42 AM) :

Now less to prove and more to do...the tough girl wants to be taken seriously. She still has the edge with the "popped" collar, crossed arms and even moreso with the straight glance now.

Blogger istanbulfashionaddict said ... (11:46 AM) :

shes like Alanis Morissette.from rock-chic to pretty school girl.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:10 PM) :

I lke her in both pictures but the hair really compliments her in the "now" one... It gives her face such a geometrical character that makes her beautiful face stand out... imagine the first pic with the new hair and you'll see what i mean. BTW she's holding the book!! :D

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:51 PM) :

What a gorgeous woman. What a wonderful, observant photographer you are. These photos and looks are almost timeless. I am in love.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:51 PM) :

Anonymous happyhippy said ... (12:39 PM) :

if I was not looking at her expression in each then I would probably prefer her older look... but for me the newer photograph looks so much more appealing because of her head-on gaze into the camera. it's as if the photographs are of two twins with completely opposite styles!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:11 PM) :

both looks are so classically cool but her now look shows that she has matured in her style this year. Love how shes holding her arms the same way in both pictures

Anonymous daedul said ... (10:57 AM) :

I like the way she has strong style. And I also think both her looks go with her personality kinda- she is quite shy.

Very strong, typical Russian features. Outstanding!

Blogger Beth Ruby said ... (1:04 PM) :

I love these Sartorialist "before and after" photos!
She looks just as incredible in each one though.

Blogger Sohiny said ... (7:16 AM) :

lovely how she's progressed but i can see retention of elements. that's what personal evolution is all abt.
did u shoot her in a similar pose intentionally though?
