Can I Take A Picture? - Italian Vogue Pelle
How did this cellphone picture end up as story in Italian Vogue Pelle?
Giovanna Battaglia (Fashion Director of Vogue Pelle and Sartorialist Super-All-Star) took this shot of Garance with her cellphone, while Garance was shooting her, and I was in the background shooting both of them....is that clear?
Anyway, a couple of weeks later Giovanna showed me the picture on her cellphone and asked me to do a full story for Vogue Pelle, based on the idea of the "cool, blogger girl".
Giovanna loved the idea of the photographer/blogger being more stylishly dressed than the subjects of the photo....which sometimes is the case!

I know it had to be a "real" model and "real" RTW but I wish you could have just shot the fabulous Garance who always looks fresher and funner than a whole runway full of models, and her clothes choices really snap.

Oh I remember seeing that picture of Garance taking a picture on her blog. Now this is a picture of you taking a picture of Garance taking a picture of Giovanna! The circle is complete. Nice video as well, the hasselblad looks out of place though.

all good, especially the phone photo. but really, the staged shoot doesn't come close to being as great or interesting as the pics that you both take spontaneously. still interesting none the less, i know its a different thing but major credit where credit due.
The final pictures were top drawer! Giovanna get an A for catching the inspiration and your get an A for a wonderful job. What a spanking idea for an editorial! And it turned out right on point!

Lovely pic the one with the mobile. It is so perfect! Could be the present transposition of the "picture into the picture" typical of some Dutch painters, like Van Dyck or something similar. And the shots on Vogue are a fantastic idea! You're the best fashion blog reporters!
I am most fascinated with the cellphone photo. Reminds of Mithcell's picture theory. A picture of a picture of a picture. Oh and Garance has great legs.
