The perfect cut and the pockets on the blazer are hidden by the jacket - shame!!

I like how his knitted hat matches his scarf, but that's about it. The grey jacket is great alone, only if it had gone with different colours. Overall, it's a good look.

Blogger Erik Hoff said ... (3:37 PM) :

I'd sail on any ship that guy captained.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:44 PM) :

great colour choices <3

Anonymous Elaine said ... (3:46 PM) :

He is like a cartoon character, with his odd assortment of clothing. The saving grace is the bright blue hat and scarf.

Blogger Nedda Ebo said ... (3:51 PM) :

Haha, what an unsubtle combination! Looks fab though! x

Blogger Unknown said ... (3:51 PM) :

I like this guy. He means business. I like the green of his jacket w/the blue of his beanie (love that blue so much right now). And the "oh!" moment of his pinstriped blazer.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:54 PM) :

Why the jeans old boy?

I just wish he had kept his suit trouser's on, so the green puffa would have appeared so effortless!

Blogger Alina Baldé said ... (3:54 PM) :

WOW! I would loooove to love him! =P

Blogger Unknown said ... (3:54 PM) :

Love the electric blue cap!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:06 PM) :

Proof that even Italians get it wrong sometimes. Coat shorter than jacket looks terrible.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:09 PM) :

mmmm .... I'm italian but this is not good in my opinion

Blogger Pearl Westwood said ... (4:14 PM) :

I really like the layering of jackets I am seeing recently, it looks so fresh

Blogger Beth Lee said ... (4:16 PM) :

Just love it!!!
Love the guy, love the colours, love the attitude, love the 'italian proportion', love the pic...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:33 PM) :

He's like an Italian Anthony Quinn. What great layering

Anonymous Anne said ... (4:36 PM) :

I love his outfit!! And you know its all so natural with Italian men, a classic well cut jacket and then just a barbour or here a cool puffa jacket as a warm layer on top....hot, hot, hot

Blogger davidikus said ... (4:36 PM) :

This is a great jacket (sport coat), with lines perfectly matched, and it works very well with the jeans. the blue of the scarf and of the beanie hat is great. I would not wear this silhouette with a khaki anorak, though. It reminds me too much of the Lech Wałęsa 1980 look!

Well spotted, though.

You could skip the down jacket as well as the suit jacket. I think that is why this outfit works so well. None of the items seems misplaced. Both Jackets express a similar or related attitude which makes this look being a statement. This guy rocks. Like it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:56 PM) :

Fancy look but elegance is something different. Such jacket fabric really deserves a suit!

Anonymous princess glee said ... (6:00 PM) :

I love this!

Blogger Kathleen said ... (6:05 PM) :

He's the best of the older, got to watch it here I'm over 50, gentleman so far this week. He is so well put together. Love the hat and scarf, the broken in but very stylish jeans, the outer jacket is wonderful and then POW! The incredible blazer underneath. He is very sexy and all man. Love him! Seeing more aviator style sunglasses then ever these days, they look really good on many different faces. I might also add he is quite slender, making him all the more good looking. I usually don't comment on someone's body weight but its quite obvious this man takes really good care of himself.

Blogger Sunshinemom said ... (7:01 PM) :

He looks a bit like my Dad! Maybe I can show Daddy this style:)

Blogger Snackapeek. said ... (7:04 PM) :

Kinda' nonchellant look, love it

Anonymous The Habitationist said ... (9:14 PM) :

Milano, Parma, Fiorenza, Roma, Bologna, Torino, Genova - This fresh look could be sported in any of these regal italian cities. How refreshing is that?!Thanks Scott, A+

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:17 PM) :

I do not know why this is posted. The cut of the grey blazer with the jacket over makes him look more homeless then well dressed. I do like the bubble jacket but I do not like the epaulets. The glasses are awful.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:26 PM) :

We've seen this look at lot -- parka over suit jacket. And I like it.

But I want to know how they get that parka on over the suit jacket. Seems to me there's a lot of uncomfortable scrunching of material there, and lots of wrinkles afterward.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:44 AM) :

Only men in Italy can wear a puffy jacket over a blazer....genius.

Blogger Unknown said ... (12:44 AM) :

grey pin striped suit jacket with jeans, a green down jacket and an off color hat and scarf combo.

he looks absolutely ridiculous...this isn't style, its i've forgot to do my laundry and i've thrown on anything i can find and stepped out of the house.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:12 PM) :

cool jacket!! I want one like that!!

Anonymous xris said ... (1:42 PM) :

Solid.

Blogger Unknown said ... (7:36 PM) :

Oh dear, oh dear. He's obviously old enough to know better. The overcoat should never be shorter than the jacket. There must be shorter, bum-freezer style coats out there that would layer under the green thing if you really had to.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:48 AM) :

This is a yes. The contrast between layers makes each piece more than the sum of its parts.

Anonymous gallery802 said ... (2:43 AM) :

Looking very extra ordinary.Thank you.

Anonymous Tisguise said ... (2:00 PM) :

although the outfit is well thought out and executed nicely, the man looks uncomfortable

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:11 PM) :

Not every photo here has to be a *good* example--unless you consider this a good example of what NOT to do.

Yes, the hat and scarf match--wow, that's original.

But the down jacket over the suit jacket makes him look learning disabled--really, it does.

There's just too many disparate things going on here, so instead of looking nicely eclectic, he just looks like he threw on whatever was lying on the floor.

Blogger everyday a floor show said ... (2:17 PM) :

nice panache...probably still living with mom.

Blogger Unknown said ... (7:18 PM) :

I'm amazed when I see things like this. I wouldn't even imagine the coat and blazer combo, but it works! Reality and imagination can really butt heads sometimes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:48 AM) :

can anyone tell me...what are the rules about wearing a coat over a blazer/blazer under a coat, is it ok to do so..?

Anonymous Vintage 1944 said ... (6:20 PM) :

Italian and New York men are sooooo stylish.Paris men way too contrived.

Anonymous Spenco Insoles said ... (6:28 AM) :
