Comments on "On the Street....Mr. Cortina, Paris"
That is a fuckin' sharp look. I'd totally wear that. I like it especially as it would look sharp on most any guy, not just the good-looking ones.
awesome colour combination. is it just me or is this guy actually pulling off a receding hairline?
I love this outfit. I love everything about it.
So immaculate!

great look! a dark brown velour blazer almost always looks good especially when paired with a light blue! Love the gloves in the coat pockes, such a subtlety.

Hi lovely! I just discovered your blog, and I really love it ^^
U have such a good eye for photograph people.. really nice!! Amazing taste.. :)
Im following you now via bloglovin, and I'd be honored if you followed me :)
Greetings from Portugal!! Have a wonderfull weekend! -xx
I'm digging all of this - the cool blue shades (a la Steve McQueen), the caramel gloves, gingham check shirt, and sporty sport coat! Wish I could relate to other pics like this one.
I'm sort of sceptical about the pants but the brown and blue combo looks nice. As does his smile.
Gloves in pocket once more... Super spring fresh even for a bitingly cold Paris!
This is a guy who clearly has "Swagger" love it

I like that his belt is black, his jacket is not and his glasses are not-i-er than said not.
This is simply great!
love his style ..A-M-A-Z-I-N-G !!
Fantastic. Even more fantastic that he doesn't have a cigarette in his hand.
My favorite photo ever
Without question, Mr. Cortina is one of my biggest style influences.
Officially a personal style icon. Effortless style with such timeless pieces. The gloves just add that modern touch.
Style?! More like a JCrew ad...
great candid shot!

Gorgeous.
The blue of that jacket is AMAZING when paired with that jacket! Definitely well-put-together. I can see why you chose to photograph him!
this guy is my absolute favorite! He always looks great never over the top, always chic and finished with out being too fussy or too studied.
Beautiful photo, Beautiful outfit, Beautiful man! xo

Mr. CORTINA --
It is always a pleasure to see photographs of him. It's always the subtleties that separate him; from the wider lapels and rolled on the corduroy jacket (looks a lot like a Tom Ford cut); to the gloves in the breast pocket. Simple styling, perfect execution.
His sunglasses remind me of those worn by Adrien Brody in The Darjeeling Limited. Anyone know where Mr. Cortina's are from?
if this said 'Mr Derivatives Broker, Fulham', it would still work. And that's not meant as a complement.
Very beautiful combinations of color between the brown jacket and beige trousers.
Spectacular spontaneity of smile! :-)

HE LOOKS AMAZING I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PHOTO :)
I am loving the chocolate with the light blue
i love everything about this! the details are perfection!
the lightness
the light
oh the light
...Nice Brown jacket & fit!
the two-toned gloves in the pocket and the braided and subtle belt make this simple and clean outfit very elegant.
the sunglasses are also divine.

Ahhhh.. Mr. Cortina... Don't you just get it right every time... Respect...
I liked the crispness of the blue tattersall shirt against the soft velvet brown of the jacket. Also white pants, yahoo!
Nice. Is that moleskin or velvet/cashco jacket?
OMG <3. Now to get away from the moronic crush-talk I love this photo, it's great to see him smiling and looking like he is naturally enjoying himself.IMO the jacket is wonderful (is that brown velvet?) and the wide lapels are just my thing. I wish I could get my shirt collar to stand so perfectly and yet naturally like that, and that hint of glove! Masculine elegance to a T!
Absolute perfection! The blue/brown color combo is cool. He has it down...every last detail, even the gloves in pocket says, "I'm cool!"
I love how crisp the chocolate brown jacket is against the bight pants and shirt. But I think the gloves peeking out of the pocket makes this picture for me.
is that velvet?
Super Chic! Great shot!
Always looks fantastic. So classic, yet so current. Mature and athletic come to mind. And he looks so comfortable, which can't be said for a lot of the gents in these photos. A definite original and a sartorial inspiration.
he looks great.
What I love about this guy is he doesn't try to hard-effortless is such a hard look. The look isn't 'in your face, look at me', but very simple and understated. He knows what suits him, and that is what makes him stand out! The ultimate style icon.
mr. cortina is always my favorite. he's elegant, handsome, and classy. post more about him, Scott!

Oh, and plaited belts are the future!
Love that jacket and shirt combination.
Panten pro V.
And no smoking....
love the checkered shirt and velvet blazer combo
he looks so great! what style!
This is so strikingly perfect... from what he's wearing to the photo itself. So cool.
I like it! But it is not memorial day yet.
What a beautiful man.
Wow.
"Black in Town-Brown in Country" is no longer applying here. (*___*)

He appears effortless everyday!

Is that a glove acting as a pocket square?
Kickass shades.
i love all the little smirks and smiles in your recent portraits!
Just got a chocolate brown molesking overcoat this color...like the luxury of mama's arms and looks just as good. Great accessories, makes you wonder about his shoes (cognac calfskin?). Great looks on this shot, Sart.
i heart heart heart this man, if for no other reason than he's got leather gloves sticking out of his pocket. but everything else is pretty good too.
Sourire timide...j'adore!!
Très belle photo Scott!!!
Is that beautiful jacket velvet/moleskin/other?
I love how the colours are so well matched, giving a very refreshing look. A little csual 'cos of the checks but still very chic. The gloves peeking out is kinda cute!
Love love this guys style, everytime you get a picture of him, he wears it with such confidence. He rules!
Good job scott.
HOT!
Love those colors together!
wow...just impecabble
loved this pic... makes me smile :)
WOW! AMAZING BLOG
A super brown and blue. And the shoes? Not fair- you left them out!
i simply love the whole set! but also look at the belt - a little masterpiece!
Suede jacket? I think so. Looks good with that shirt. I usually don't like trousers that white but this is very well done.
Great example of something anyone can do but never becomes passe.
Tan relajado en su equipi blanco, azul y la sonrisa
Love the dark brown chord jacket & blue shirt combo - great taste. Thanks Scott.
love it!
great........
ps: first! ?
Hi Everybody.
Excuse me, but who is Mr. Cortina? I saw some pics about him here, but i don't know him. But yeah, his style is very brilliant.
*happy sigh*
I want this velvety dark chocolate brown jacket.I love this darkness illuminated by the white pants and his smile. The spring wink of the vichy shirt breaks the seriousness and gives a youthful look.
Classic!
X
How to make nothing special look special. Is it all about confidence?
This is a very charming shot...and has a a very fresh feel to it.
http://ozwaldboateng.blogspot.com/
Mr. Cortina caught my attention. I am from Cortina (d'Ampezzo, Italy), so i hope the name comes from his origins, maybe i'll meet him :)
And once again "la maestria italiana" of wearing almost white trousers in winter without looking cheap!
Non so come facciano but I'm jealous:-)
Inspired by spring....
www.ioba.eu
The Jacket is impressive. I will try the style...
love his style, even if wearing white pants is delicate during the winter.
SHARP!
http://lhabitue.blogspot.com/
Re: the glasses probably Tom Ford 5012 in havana brown with a custom tint. Really nice jacket! Jack
This picture is just bursting with great colors. Mr. C always has it going on. Never overdone. I have everything in my wardrobe except THAT blazer. Perfect.
Joe
Best dressed man of the World !
Superb! I'm not sure about the sunglasses, though. This outfit would look best on guys who are fit and good-looking.
Sart, why are your photographs looking increasingly retouched?
Granted he is gorgeous; however, it's the details - the five o'clock shadow - the watch slightly showing - the perfect blue of the checked shirt. You could put this look on hundreds of guys but they couldn't pull it off at all. He just has that whole "what is all the fuss about" awesome cool.
I loved the coulours!! I really love blue and brown!
No matter what, this guy always looks like a million bucks. No gimmicks; he just knows clothes and wears them very well.
Sharp-dressed man seems a little camera shy...
You can't ever go wrong with a blue gingham shirt, they're just a great staple and every man should own one.
I'm wearing one today!
You should provide an easy way to search more pictures of a specific model. Tags would do.
Mr. Cortina...every picture...
perfection!!!
http://misanthropicpulp.blogspot.com/
Words fail me.....perfection.
"This outfit would look best on guys who are fit and good-looking."
Well, that's true of any outfit, but what I like about this one is that you don't have to be fit and good-looking to wear it.
I like the shirt and the gloves that peep out. I could do without the glasses. Nice photo, I like how you captured him smiling!
http://subconchicness.blogspot.com
Well he's good-looking and well dressed. Yeah.
love the pic... thes smile is just gorgeous...i wanna just go an hug him!!!
http://donotshoeme.blogspot.com/
oh my god. so cute!
easily perfect!
So simply, so ingeniously!

Mr. Cortina rocks.
The gloves in the pocket, the sunglasses, the shirt cuffs showing. Immaculate yet casual.
Seemingly unstudied perfect.
great look, but feels just a tad early for white pants in Paris.
this guy looks cool, fat lapels and all. i really like the way his pants fit, makes him look sharp.
So nice to see him without a cigarette for a change. Makes him look even better!!!
Mr. Cortina....sempre chic ed impeccabile!
http://louis-myfashionshow.blogspot.com/
I have been a big fan of Mr. Cortina's style since the first photo I saw of him many season's ago. It's great to see a man of his calibre dress so well. He has impeccable taste, effortless and chic. Does anyone know his real name?
RJ
one of your most inspiring photographs. great look !
i agree with the guy above who says this is standard sloane/eurotrash chic. he pulls it off despite this.
sartorialist, when are you going back to real people not just endless examples of what the fashion in-pack are wearing? do you simply not move in that world any more?
oh my god. love this. so fresh. love the light, flat front pants and check shirt with dark, rich chocolate jacket. i'm showing this to my husband immediately. beautiful.
This guy is my hero. He wears things and makes them look effortless. Even in your book the couple of times he is showcased you can see his natural ease in dressing. Tom Ford and this guy totally inspire.
cool
superb
Very sharp - love the white trousers, and the way the gloves tucked into the pocket of his jacket are also brown and white.
http://algernonmoncrieff.blogspot.com/
really?
this?
booooring
again we are seeing a distinct lack of footwear at the moment - would be intriguing to see how he was dealing with Paris winter as I have never seen Mr Cortina wearing socks.
@Anonymous (RJ) his name is George (or perhaps Jorge, he's from Miami) Cortina. Successful and well-known stylist. I'd love to know who the jacket is by. It was freezing in Paris, so this outfit was not exactly appropriate for the weather.
ms
I think this is the first time you've caught George smiling.
A great picture. Nice to see a manly looking man for a change and not some scrawny fashion victim.
Amazing.
How the most classic style can look amazingly trendy and how a sincere smile can brighten up your day...
I think his expression just makes this photo....so handsome :)
so well put together.
Mr Cortina! I took a photo of him, too. Always dressed well!
Love the brown/blue mix and his belt
this guy is so handsome, i can't see his face....and yet this jacket, trousers and shirt (and yes I love the gloves in his pocket)are worn with such flair he is stunning.....If i were single on a whim I'd fly to Paris just to check him out. Breath taking
George Cortina ALWAYS looks good.
Great look but chaps really need to stop putting gloves in the jacket pockets... It's done lads!!
Someday I hope to marry a man like him (L)
One of the best looks I've seen on here! Classic! I want this outfit! Very handsome indeed!
nice look - but when the hair is receeding - keep the head up in a photo
I always have problems to get good white trousers, when I see them I always by two pairs, but now I need new ones, any ideas ?
