Don't think I've ever seen Franca in colour before. I love the matching shoes, and her legs are great.
Not the neckline, though - that gold shade is so difficult to wear for people with Franca's skin tone. But her smile is gorgeous!

Very, very chic. Love how Franca has coordinated her shoes with the coat. She looks distinctive, elegant, not fussy, confident. I love seeing "women of a certain age" looking age appropriate and stylish.

love the proportions in this-the fullness that the pleats create in the coat balanced out by the sleek point of the shoe. and, as with many of your subjects, she has a beautiful smile!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:49 PM) :

She is fabulous, a real role model.
At the same time, I look closely at the role model part, because I'm pushing 50, though I don't look it, and I always think about this "age appropriate" stuff.
Her hair is very long, but she pulls it off. How?
She wears minimal makeup without looking washed-out. Even tougher since she's blonde. How does she do it?
Is it ALL her clearly fantastic personality coming through? Yes, it helps to have gorgeous designer duds, but there is more to it than that. She is tiny, not a statuesque model type. How does she look so consistently good?

Anonymous MiA said ... (5:02 PM) :

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:01 PM) :

It's a beautiful outfit, but I think that the coat needs to be stiffer in cut.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:07 PM) :

My favourite photo of the year, so far. I want it all... and I want it now!

Blogger Lisa Petrarca said ... (6:07 PM) :

Completely perfect fashion...she didn't miss a single thing.

Wish I could look this put together as I run out the door each morning!LOL!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:40 PM) :

Too "ladylike"; why do women of a certain age just become more conservative and a smaller color pattern would be better on her.

Blogger Diane said ... (7:01 PM) :

Are those shoes for real? They are gorgeous and she wears them so great! It's so refreshing to see something else than platforms these days!...

Anonymous Joffrey said ... (7:11 PM) :

Very elegant!

Blogger Unknown said ... (7:16 PM) :

---it continually amazing me when a lady with this much style, class, elan and fashion sense receives comments such as " I don't like this or that" and the same people clamor with excitment over people that are dressed sloppy and/or appear as if they are homeless.

Blogger Unknown said ... (7:16 PM) :

The trench is stunning....

Blogger Punctuation Mark said ... (7:51 PM) :

She is such a classy lady... no doubt about it!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:27 PM) :

I love what she is wearing and how happy she looks wearing it. I do think short grey or dark brown curly hair would accent the outfit to it's best.

That means I would love to wear it, even after I have grey curls. It's timeless and lovely.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:43 PM) :

She's gorgeous in that coat! Great combination with the glasses, the coat and the shoes! Plus she's always got that divine smile on her face!

Blogger Krishna said ... (9:08 PM) :

What really makes it for me is the outline of the legs in the thick tights, and the beautoful gleaming shoes. A lady with elegance!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:46 PM) :

Yesterday I was in Paris!! I want to see her!! I love Her!!!

Anonymous guto said ... (9:56 PM) :

She's such a charming lady but sometimes i don't like the size of her glasses...simply doesn't match... but the rest, absolutely perfect!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:50 PM) :

she's very elegant and i agree with what everyones saying about the personality shining through in that smile. but i've always thought she could do with a trim. its not that length is out of place at her or any age but that in this case it has such a limp look to it.

Blogger FiftyCentLove said ... (11:25 PM) :

love the tights and shoes!

..as opposed to others i think franca's hair is simply gorgeous...women have to understand that natural is elegant and whatever hair you were born with is better than looking fake...her smile shows her confidence which no outfit on the planet can ever take the place of...priceless...your photograph dear sart just enhances it all!...kisses from cisternino/italy.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:26 AM) :

Fantastic woman, fantastic photo! But what brand is this? Does someone know?

Blogger Joyce said ... (12:06 PM) :

THE most elegant of plaids in the most luscious of colors! And that little strap over the instep on the shoe. So gorgeous!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:00 PM) :

I have to agree with the poster Jim. One of the things I love about Italian women is their ability to look so chic and sexy without looking so "made up." I live in a European city where the "women of style" don't leave the house without a professional blowout or full makeup. I find this kind of refinement so refreshing. as far as the comments regarding her hair or glasses, bah humbug to you.

Blogger Francesco Artibani said ... (1:23 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:30 PM) :

dislike the eye wear greatly and i would so have enjoyed it if she had some sort of up do - not rigid maybe a very loose/ mess-ish chignon.

that said, the rest of the look is lovely. the rich brown back with gold against gold, lovely. I hope that this is not a designer coat. i want to believe that this woman knows style and fashion well enough to find it anywhere.

Blogger Phyllis said ... (12:19 PM) :

It looks like she lets her hair air dry naturally; I like that.

Anonymous GUGA said ... (8:21 PM) :

she is always full of joy... But please i know its your mark... but cant u make anything better with the witch hair? bring us the boldness.... bring us the inspiration...maria bethania would be proud of this..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:09 AM) :

Very elegant, but the ribbon-like gold sections and general flatness of the dress fabric makes her look like a present awaiting its bow.

Anonymous Ellie said ... (12:13 PM) :

Each time you capture this woman she looks so stylish. Lovely!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:38 PM) :

this woman has that exact facial expression in every image iv seen of her.

i really love that dress but not the pointy shoes..
