Blogger LMc said ... (5:51 AM) :

Something Back to the Future and Matrix like about this couple. I think its the goggle like sunglasses and the boots. I want to ask them what they are waiting for...

Blogger brunchatthebeach said ... (6:36 AM) :

Layered chic! (This photo is absolutely perfect in grayscale.) And her shoes....*adore*.

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:37 AM) :

She looks totally cool, and so does he...

Blogger TheStreetFashion5xpro said ... (6:43 AM) :

I love this black and white

Anonymous C. said ... (6:47 AM) :

Great !

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:53 AM) :

Great couple?
Great style! For sure!

Blogger Beauty Is Diverse said ... (6:58 AM) :

I like his jacket.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:58 AM) :

Would like to see the colour version ... Sart, do you b&w the occasional shot where colour doesn't play such a huge role (i.e. where fabrics and patterns stand out more)? What makes you choose greyscale?

Her layering anticipates the breath of spring out there ... the mid-teen (Celsius) temps like here in London. His ensemble: perfectly unadorned.

:D

Anonymous Laura from Florence said ... (6:58 AM) :

Romola shoes by Salvatore Ferragamo are the best!!!
I love the shape of the heels!
Laura

Blogger Lorena said ... (7:10 AM) :

She looks incredible.

Blogger KohCo said ... (7:25 AM) :

That is simply an amazing shot
The duo just looks sublime
I love his coat with the interesting take on the belt and her architecturally minimalistic shoes.

So simple and yet edgy

Provocative in a good way

Blogger Café Naïveté said ... (7:25 AM) :

hmm... somehow they remind the film "5th element" their seriousness or something. And they both have got great footwear, really special.

Blogger beths said ... (7:42 AM) :

The Sartorialist has done them quite a favor by shooting them in b/w. The faces stand out in a more interesting way.

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (7:56 AM) :

Ooh, how original this is.

Anonymous proletarian Great Gatsby said ... (8:02 AM) :

Why that picture reminds me "Blade Runner" (Ridley Scott, 1982) and "Bis am Ende der Welt ("Until the end of the world".Wim Wenders,1991)?
Because it's cosmopolitan:it reflects our time without being slave of it.It's present and real but also -whit the aid of the black and white treatment- not ephemeral.Good work Scott!

Blogger cloudo3 said ... (8:05 AM) :

so amazing!

Blogger Tanya said ... (8:09 AM) :

This, dear Sart, is a pretty freaking cool photo...

It is a beautifull picture... Love them

Anonymous enrique said ... (8:31 AM) :

The cold has everyone rethinking the balance of practicality and style. The portrait is cinematic.

Anonymous The Photodiarist said ... (8:31 AM) :

As much as i love Black & White, I wish this one was in color. For some reason, I think that there's something I am missing. Weird-- because I should be the last person to say this . . .

Otherwise, I do love the photograph and it does have great presence in B&W.

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (8:34 AM) :

Wonderful in black and white. From another era - possibly futuresque.

Blogger SEXILIA said ... (8:43 AM) :

I LOVE THEIR ATTITUDE

Blogger Style Realist said ... (8:50 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:32 AM) :

Can't agree her miscellaneous fashion-look is cool. He on the other hand...

Blogger Vinda Sonata said ... (9:42 AM) :

stunning picture! love the classic feel!

fashion atelier.

Blogger Overdressed said ... (9:44 AM) :

Expression-full shall we (can we) say?!

The clothes suit the people, and the opposite is true. The angle, the writing on the wall, the cigarette.

Master piece. This should be the cover of your next book!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:18 PM) :

Edgy.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:18 PM) :

His boots are so interesting. He does not seem to be too concerned with being photographed. She is not shy about being photographed but is not sure why her picture 'must be at this moment.' This is a great moment of stylish spontaneity.

Blogger FASHION SNAG said ... (12:41 PM) :

Great photography. I love her trousers rolled up and her belt. xo

Blogger 99Perfume said ... (1:09 PM) :

Both great outfits! His boots look like a hybrid of cowboy boots and girls leather boots, definitely a more interesting mixture that I have seen.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:16 PM) :

sci fi nostalgia bohemia thanks

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:23 PM) :

I love the look, am trying to achieve layering like this, effortless and yet, deliberate.

Blogger jo said ... (1:30 PM) :

to tokyo you must go.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:40 PM) :

Beautiful, artistically done photo! I am curious to see what the actual color palette is too!

P.S People have got to stop saying "I love that/those" all the time...

Blogger Baba said ... (3:54 PM) :

My first thought was that this guy looks like a supervillain!

My second thought is that supervillains are one stylish crew, despite constantly wanting to take over or destroy the world.

Blogger stylespotterfashionblogger said ... (4:03 PM) :

absolutely love this look!!! fab!

Anonymous nga waiata said ... (4:15 PM) :

why do you have soooo many shots of smokers?

Anonymous mabelmabel said ... (4:37 PM) :

Andre Kertesz, Sart, but for the sourness of the subjects. Like youth itself, style is sometimes wasted on the sullen young.

Anonymous notsurebut said ... (4:37 PM) :

you would see her look anywhere which is not to take anything away from her but he on the other hand has tweaked everything just enough to make this look totally his own

Blogger Unknown said ... (4:51 PM) :

*SMACK*
(the sound of my jaw hitting my desk)
p.s. was that super cheesy?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:43 PM) :

Now THAT looks like "the future" and a very stylish one at that. Awesome. B&W was perfect for that shot. On any other man I wouldn't like those boots, but they look great on him. Love their 'tude as well.

Blogger Ezra said ... (6:40 PM) :

her heels with those pants are a good combination.

Gorgeous girl and gorgeous ensemble :)

Blogger Heather said ... (2:51 AM) :

This picture just conjures up a bit of nostalgia for me. The man is almost Dr.Strangelove and the woman is a sort of dark Brigitte Bardot.
