Oh . . . love black and white photography. I guess that's why I do a whole blog on it . . . The shape of the jacket, the snow, the somewhat wild and haunted look on her face . . . all of it makes for such a dramatic photograph. Quite brilliant, Mr. Schuman.

Is this the man that was wearing the insanely high Nina Ricci platforms!? If it is he's incredible and I applaud him for being able to walk in them. If it isn't this still looks amazing...I'm not a fan of the big shoulders most of the time but here it is great and he wears it so well.

My mouth literally hung open when this picture showed up on my screen. I immediately opened the comments, even before browsing the other pictures! Very hard to put to put into words. I have mixed feelings of intrigue and sense that I need to look away from the stare. Very intense. And the very darkest areas in the middle of the scarf contrasted with the lightest corner top left is perfect. The jagged coat shoulders add a futuristic element to a ghostly look. This is a fantastic picture. Great work, Sart. I'm loving the direction of very artistic and interesting photos!

Anonymous Libby K said ... (2:37 PM) :

So is this a man or a woman? When I first looked at the photo, I thought woman, but now I am forced to return to my reasons for that first impression. I thought, "How curious that she is wearing a fashionably strong-shouldered jacket with pushed-up sleeves in weather cold and snowy enough to require a head scarf! Why doesn't she also push down the sleeves to at least cover her forearms?" Now I must amend the pronouns I used in my own mental conversation.
A great, haunting photo for many, many reasons!
