Comments on "On the Street.... How to Wear A Cape p.2, Milano"
How to wear a cape:
1.) Be a SUPER hottie!
2.) Put on cape.
She was featured on your site a couple months ago - who is she?!
She manages to make those glasses look nice and not 'hipster' at all...
Gorgeous layers and patterns.
Absolutely in love with the capes.
Great cape yet again! Loving it. She wears it so well. xo
www.FashionSnag.com
go the cape! gorgeous.
Is that a cardigan as a neck scarf I see? Truly inspired.
www.openzedoor.blogspot.com
despite their sudden reincarnation into fashion, fwe people can pull off glasses like that. she can. the cardigan worn as a scarf? clever
Neck sweater? Interesting.
Wonderful!

Fashion, Music, Food etc...
She looks adorable! Love the mixed colors and textures protruding from her wrists.
the contemporary ingenue

Fabulous!!!!
Love it.
Does anyone know where the glasses are from?
Is that a sweater/cardigan sort of thing around her neck? How cool!
Also: she is amazing at layering! :)
I don't like very much...
Sweater around the neck - very "Grey Gardens"
and how to wear a sweater as a scarf!
Amazing specs!!!

Cardigan as a scarf? She's a cutie.
Can someone share the story of the cape with us? How did the cape first enter the lexicon of fashion?
What Harry Potter's sister would look like if he had one. Nerdy but cute
Lookin' snazzy...
This is very interesting, is she wearing a cardigan around her neck as a scarf? Love her glasses, they really suit her face.

So happy to see her again! Your picture of her carrying her brown quilted Chanel, wearing an awesome scarf ranks high on my list of your best photos.
Gray/brown/cream/black/worn denim blue. Beautiful, analogous, muted (but thoughtful) color palette, accentuated by that vivid yellow/white/orange background. The blacks of the scooter's shadow and her bag, the night sky, the bit of text behind her back, and her hair and eyes are also in perfect balance, spatially.
That scooter's cool, but not cooler than those awesome frames -- so strong, and you can tell from her gaze she has the personality and intelligence to back them up. Lovely mood, lovely woman, lovely shot.
love everything about this outfit, esp her glasses!
Multiple sleeves, cardigan scarf, adore!
I VESTITI!
I like that she's wearing a cardigan as a scarf. I do that a lot when Im rushing out and cold. Never knew it could be so stylish.
Such a fantastic cape! Gorg!
Wow! This girl really knows layering:
a denim shirt is something that would usually not work in a similar outfit, here is one of the things that make the look.
Let's grow up later
Love the neutral colors and those frames!
-O Rose
first?
love the scarf!
She definitely carries off the look well! I like the sweater wrapped around her neck.
just perfection
Awesome layered cuffs. Best cape yet.
Lulu Letty
I love the sweater over shirt. And her hair has that great quality of being beautiful without being styled.
How to wrap her scarf?
I love the simplicity of this shot. The look on her face. The glasses. Her presence speaks bounds in the silence & serenity captured in this shot. Structured effortless-ness (if that's a word)...one of my favorite things....
I'm Loving the glasses!

I'm Loving the glasses!
beautiful look!

It's spring in Milan
She ponders in her tweed cape
Whence the double cheese
Wow, that is such an awesome outfit! What a good eye for texture and layering!
A beautiful, geek-chic, layered look. I especially love the cardigan wrapped around her neck as a scarf.
This photograph really captures her beauty. She has a very striking visage (which has a pair of chunky frames trying, however futilely, to obscure it).
How to wear a cape...and sweater, and hair, and hornrimmed specs, and...! Beautiful colour combination here. The Italians, as I always say, almost do English better than the English themselves. Certainly better than the French and Americans.
Back to the photo. I bet she's sitting on a Vespa. She's quite beautiful and has the kind of face I could look at for days. Nice find, Sart.
this look is fantastic
very cute! I loved the last one as well, but I like the pattern of this 'cape' better. x
Did you notice that two of the subjects in pictures you posted this week are wearing Tom Ford's TF 5040s?
She definitely works the nerdy-chic oversizes specs, and I love the mixture of patterns and textures she's wearing. It's so great to see people wearing capes--I've always thought they were so elegant when worn like these women are wearing them.
I WANT HER GLASSES.
Pretty spiffy.
absolutely adorable. sherlock holmes would be proud. phenomenal combination of patterns and textures.
Interesting. Is that a cashmere cardigan she's using for an ascot or scarf?
Scott, I really like how you captured this lady! The light, her posture and expression is great. Props to her for how she put her outfit together. The layers that are shown from looking at her sleeves, the contrast in colour, the her specs and the slightly frayed edge of her gray sweater. Simply delightful!
A mix of Sherlock Holmes and Coco Chanel! Bravo!!!
Top vibe on the glasses
The glasses and the cape just look so kewl on her, i love this layered look
Http://cocozaahb.blogspot.com
HER !!! She's the one that made me become a true adept of The Sartorialist ! Her picture with the brown Chanel bag under her arm , the high-waisted (I think it was carrauté ) pants. It was ...love at first sight ! (sartorially , of course !)
CARDIGAN AS SCARF! I've been doing this for years, more out of desperation and forgetfulness than anything, but this actually looks really cool.
I love her glasses! and the layering is amazing because despite all the layers it still seems very light!
What a beauty!

I LOVE this!
i love using my cardigans for a scarf too.
What wonderful textures! The sweater-as-a-scarf is such a nice touch.
pretty cute. it's a little a masculine though and i think the cardigan scarf is a little too much.
What a beauty, love the sweater scarf.
Great photo!
sheworeitwell.blogspot.com
good stuff.
she has a sweater around her neck, that's so niiiiice :)
bizarre but intriguing
I love her scarf as well! It almost looks like a soft cardi knotted about her shoulders, lovely.
I just love her! Her style is impeccable, and the sweater as a scarf is bold in a very neutral, very functional, highly functioning way. I love that her heathered brown sweater is well loved.Just beautiful!
Their is something very smart and functional about this image. I appreciate the conscientious use of layering fabric shades of tan, heather gray and denim coupled with the checkered print of the cape. The spectacles, of course, highlight the brilliance of this woman's outfit.
absolutely stunning..love the 3 layers of sleeves and the scarf detail..and her glasses..and her face in general...love this look entirely!!
http://www.donotshoeme.blogspot.com/
Not so sure about the "sweater come scarf" idea, but I like the multi-cuff trend that has been happening and captured by your camera!
:)
Sweater as scarf! Dee-voon!
the print of the cape is wonderfully and i love the cardigan as a scarf, too.
cardigan scarf
Wow ,I AM IN LOVE!
So pretty and interesting looking. Who wouldn't want to sit and chat with her?
Love how she's layering her look. And after all she is on a Scooter Oi!!! Gets me every time...
cute here as well.
Ahhh - the Golden Arches! A familiar symbol for all travellers far from home! And this is what I think sticks out in your work & makes it so special...the attention you pay to what's going on BEHIND the subject you are snapping! xxo
Like the glasses, the triple layer cuffs and the "scarf"...
LOVE the color palette she's wearing.
Beyond admiring the fantastic cape, I love the whimsy of the cardigan functioning as a scarf, too. Those glasses are classic and perfectly complement her face.
Usually glasses hide your face but you can still see her beauty even with the glasses on
this is such a perfect photo - i love the warm tones and the textures of what she's wearing!
Endless Nights
ooh I love all of the shirts! and how she's wearing a cardigan as a scarf. she looks like she'd be interesting to talk to.
she looks classy! like the layers. intense eyes behind the glasses. the sweater around the neck is a cute fix if she didn't have a scarf. love the picture!
Kinda the same ingenous layering as in the pic below. The sweater as scarf is cool, I guess, it's original. Nice nerd look.
i love this look!!
www.whatdialike.com
I love how she put on the layers and most of all I love her scarf/ pul. The colors she wears are dull, but all together it's so brilliant.
I really love her style

the cape looks like the fabric of my school uniform skirt, which is a rather vile polyester. i like the beige/blue/gray sleeve ends. i'd love to wear those layers to school, but alas, it's not in uniform.
j'adore!
I love it! It just works...
Great Picture....
Who´s that Girl.... Lookin very nice!
Saw her on another photo before...
the girl with the tomford glasses...
great sense of style!
I love the sweater-as-scarf! I also love that she is in all sorts of neutrals but is still so layered and awesome.
LOVE the idea of wrapping sweater around the neck
Triple jumper mayhem.
I think we have a winner.
first comment!
beautiful lady! the glasses, the outfit, it all works <3
From what I can see, really cool and sleek cape. She combines the different colours and textures perfectly.
Fantastic Shot nonetheless. It tells a story about her, which is what I absolutely love of your pictures.
May I ask, how did you manage the light without a flash? Thank you!
a cardigan used as a scarf is not clever - it's 80s. blimey, i feel old...
Wow, I want to be able to pull off this look. Laid back academic with flair. The day I can get away with wrapping a cardigan around my neck will be the most accomplished day of my life.
http://lesadventuresdulorax.blogspot.com
Love the glasses and the cape and the "scarf"... she's so cool!
Everyone's rocking those Tom Ford specs. I wish I had the cash for them, I opted for some £5 plastic buggers from Brick lane market.
Cos I'm a cheap mother !@*?!*%

Absolutely gorgeous
Looove it!She looks great!
I am loving this cape serie!
http://lhabitue.blogspot.com/
yeah ...fantomas/ miss marple chic
I'm seeing Angelina Jolie's younger, smarter, non-crazy sister.
(a) how to rock a killer pair of glasses without looking like you're an avid american apparel junkie. (b) how to successfully layer shirts without looking 10 pounds heavier (c) how to use a shirt as a scarf without looking...like you're wearing a shirt as a scarf i guess...
so clearly i like this picture.
very cool!

I agree with the anonymous poster who said she managed to make those glasses look non-hipster. She looks great! And that doesn't make you old, Anonymous (4:45), it makes you knowledgeable!
she is perfect. very accurate and inventive!
She's clearly a pro. Beautiful.
LOVE this look! Colliding hues, textures [buttons!] & all brought together with a confident, sophisticated catch of the eye.
besides the awesome combination of colors, and everything, does she have a sweater wrapped around her neck!!! and those glasses?! shes a a mcdonalds?!! anywho, I'm in love... like seriously, there's just something about everything in this picture, and her look
www.picklesandcoffee.com
I'll second Brian's comment way up near the top, which is basically, be good looking, then put on clothes. Ha. Pretty true. Anyway, she makes all of if work. She looks like an even better looking Janeane Garofalo.
Perfect.
Rottkäpchen(little red riding hood)after her romance with the wolf?
Brown and blue, earth and sky.She is complete.A shirt between two sweater and she wrapped in another one. What has knitwear that makes it special?
awesome. More like - How to wear a cardigan as a scarf.
I love these layers! So classic...
I've been wearing a cape I inherited from my grandmother-in-law, a gorgeous tweed made for her in Ireland decades ago. Seeing these cape variations on your site has made me realize I could be doing much more with it... thank you for the inspiration!
Hmm, is that a cardi wrapped around her neck? Or is it just a scarf that looks like it could be a cardi that is wrapped around a neck ha... Love it either way!
Wow. She is truly pro with the layering, the cardigan as a scarf - I haven't tried that one, but I'll maybe try it - and the specs! I love the specs!
I'm tempted to get a cape...
clichic.blogspot.com
what makes this look is the slight imperfection in the cuff of the jumper (or sweater - we call them jumpers in scotland). The truly stylish don't worry too much about minor imperfections.
WHO IS SHE?!?!
I don't think those are TF 5040 frames. The hinge area on the 5040 (where the side piece connects to the frame) has a thin silver design that looks like a "T" lying on its back. There might be a glare problem but I'm seeing plain glossy black with no ornamentation. Much better, cleaner looking.
Signed-Society for the Prevention of Tarted-Up Eyeglasses
Her layering and her glasses are indeed amazing. Its so nice and interesting to look at her.
What a beautiful composition!
I can only guess that has been told that she could be Rose Byrne's doppelganger...
I have to really stretch on this one. I like the mix, but for me, there's a bit too much going on here. Her coloring is so delicate, and although I like the frames, I would have chosen something a bit less obtrusive. Having spent ten years in optics, I guess I look at the glasses first, and if they take my eye completely away from the person who is wearing them, and they become all I see, then I shake my head and say "No, pick another pair my dear". Still, her palette is perfection, love it!
I impesionate the way how she use the simple pull around the neck!
http://leblogdemasha.blogspot.com/
What a gorgeous picture. She's put it all together so well.
Happy to see this girl again. She had a masterful mix of neutrals and patterns last time. I agree with Grace's comments. I am amazed that her hair and face look almost exactly the same as in the former pic which makes her more real and normal than some of the fashion slaves you photograph. I think those cuffs may be chambray, a softer weave than denim.
ah yes, the very specs that i want and have now seen on here two or three times. Tom Ford, he's making a killing in accessories. right, there are two models : sell a few things expensively or many things inexpensively.
THIS is how you wear a cape. Fab, fab, fab.
i love this girl!! the last picture of her you posted is still in my mind. so glad you decided to shoot her again!
I love the layering and colours. Cardigan over denim shirt over cardigan - very nice. And I always wear cardigans as scarves! Finally I'm ahead of the curve! ;)
Gorgeous geek-chic but not real sure about the acrdy, a tad contrived
Love the slim cut of the cape, but I love the sweater she used as a scarf. Very economical of her!
messy style but really pretty!!love it!
i follow this blog since several months now and have it in my blogroll although it has nothing to do with my work and blog topic, because the pictures and the concept in general protray a wonderful feeling for BEING.
Here there is a special manifestation: one sees or understands clearly, that every piece of clothes and every combination is a sign of the particlar individual.
Wonderful to contemplate PEOPLE and study how the shine, by simply being themselves.
Thank you!
I love how she looks both completely intellectual and completely stylish!
CLASSIC&ORIGINAL!!
Wonderful Layer look.
I'd like to see her on her motorcycle.
The glasses are Tom Ford. You can tell by the "T" on the hinges. There have been a few people featured on the blog wearing them...
Yeah I guess Elvis Costello could be a style influence...
damn - she's cool!
Tom Ford glasses....
These clothes superpositions are really great. I'm always cold, and I really admire people who can superpose close in a very elegant way.
