boing! great face.
I dig it! I especially love his scarf and eclectic mix.
Silk scarf and rings worn with a plain blazer with such nonchalance, love it!
Gloria (Italy)
I love it!
I want to see The sartorialist at the street!haha
Kiss!
Love the colours! The jacket and the scarf.
But the hat... not so much.
The scarf is absolutely beautiful.
He looks amazing. And is very handsome.

- The scarf
A true Sartorial blog post.
I'm in love :)
chic
i love his accessories.. the scarf, the rings, but perhaps the hat could go
Wow the fabric of the pants: unbeatable..
blending extremely well with his multicolor scarf!
+ he's got the right attidude to carry it off!
This is an awesome blend of athletic wear and semi-formal attire. His confidence is apparent; he owns the look. DOPE!

Blue and orange! Who says that blue is a cold color? This scarf is hot as all the colors of this man
incredible mix here! (and I do love the old school Bears jacket underneath...)
Very handsome gentleman!!
Amazing colours he is wearing! I love the scarf! He is very ellegant
actually-- upon 3rd and 4th look - it may not be a Bears jacket - anyone know?
that scarf... you either got "it"... or your don't...!
He is quite striking! What lovely features, and skin!
His outfit is lovely too, a little bit Eddie Murphy from Coming to America, but in a good way.
what a stylish guy! Love his face.
http://timetimetravelers.blogspot.com/
really really handsome....
& very stylish!
I'm not wild about the hat, but somehow this guy makes this ensemble work...
Very cool scarf!
I like.

What a beautiful man/picture/outfit!
The jacket is beautiful, the foto is super,as always......
Lovely jacket!
S
Yesss! that beenie is looking awesome especially because the "gumby" haircut is coming back. And is that a Chicago Bears windbreaker underneath his jacket!? So original he is. Thank you for this one.
he's perfect.
c'est tout.
love the ankara scarf. not sure about the jacket underneath but the colours work beautifully. handsome young man
He's the Prince of New York! This is how it's done, people.

Love his scarf/shirt/jacket/pants
Hehehe
<3
Absolutely fantastic clothing! The scarf makes the attire. Do they have indoors street in NYC now?
Wow. He is intense. Love bright colours and the neutral colour of the trousers.
He reminds me of a young Eddie Murphy in Coming to America.
Love the details, what a great dresser and he couldn't be more handsome if he tried!
It's a Benglas jacket
What a man! seems like a king of Somalia. A stunning beauty.
This fellow has much ELAN (flair)--does not matter what this man has on--its all about how he wears it. The hat for comfort; the jacket--the same--but adds some color that pulls in the scarf. The jacket and slack are climate correct but add much civility to this gent's look. Makes you wonder what was on his mind as he got dressed for this morning. But really--literally and figuratively--were the lights on?
Cincinnati Bengals jacket BTW.
I LOVE this! he has such a strong face. and i love how he has styled himself. totally his own style!
A natural-born king...
He looks great! I especially love his jacket.
I love this. He wears it with such elan. The jacket is so classic and sophisticated and elevates the whole outfit. He seems to have an amazing pin on his hat which matches as well! This fellow has a real sense of style.
this is great!!. love the eclectic mix. It all just works on him.
True style.
colorful, in every sense of the word.
Pure charisma !
HIS LOOK IS A KNOCKOUT!!!!
wow....
he is such a beautiful man! and has an amazing style! I can't see many men wearing a hat like that who can still pull it off!
Very Handsome.
Love the scarf.
my my!
A very intense gaze, love this portrait!
Another young one with loads of style. How beautiful he is, and how creative. Lovely shot Scott. He makes me feel warm.
F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C!
my kind of guy
http://fashionaddress.blogspot.com/
Interesting to see that he is wearing a diesel jacket under the blazer.
Well, he did it. He really mixed classy and "gangsta" and really pulled it off. *applause*
so dashing! such elegance!
personal style is alive and well. beautiful shot, as well.
This is fabulous!!! I love it!!1
jock, hobo, gucci chic. interesting look! what is his story?
Cincinnati Bengals windbreaker
Shanty chic. Solid.
This shot epitomizes the fact that the core of style comes from with in. A Chicago Bears jacket under a navy blue blazer? Come now, most would look like WTF!? But this dashing young brother makes it look "easy like a Sunday morning."
I too think a different direction with the head gear would have been more effective.
Amazing.... Good style..
Amazing.. Good style!!
Its a Bengals jacket.
abdoul has made it onto the sartorialist
this is amazing
Lovely pic!So interesting outfit!
Oh yes, that is a Chicago Bears windbreaker. I have never seen one look so stylish...and as a life long Chicagoan, I have seen a LOT of these jackets. Fans of Da Bears should take a lesson!
gorgeous and inspired--thanks for this!
THE
PRINCE
FROM ZAMUNDA.
Wow, love it.
Amazing, love that scarf! Great mix..
the scarf is lush..makes me want to eat it like candy. veery lovely.
As if it would matter what he wears! He is too gorgeous.
So he can take all the risks. The cool thing is, of course, that he actually does. He dares. He pushes it. And it works. It's totally his.
i love it! the mix of a structured blazer over sport themed jacket.of course the face isn't too hard on the eyes either.
ecclectic, indivualistic style is always so very attractive ...
Perfection.
Good grief-Who is this? So stylish and young. It's really scary that he can effortlessly pull this look off. Sart, please promise you will post more pics of him in the future.Amazing.
I love that he's handsome and does not play it safe. The hat's angle is perfect, suggesting a fez or crown. And the red wouldn't work (I don't think) without the orange setting it up from below. I enjoy seeing this perfect navy DB toyed with, and yet respected as a great piece.
Yeah, I agree with the previous poster. This guy really pushes the envelope—successfully!
But it's easy to get away with the wildest risks when you're handsome and thin.
I can't get past the beautiful face.
Very stunning looking guy. I'd say the patterned scarf is a bit too much, but everything else works.
what a cutie
i dig it
so much class! very handsome and unique style. wonderful.
WHO DEY!
100% pure New York Style!
The scarf and hat is gorgeous, but so is his face! xo
www.FashionSnag.com
that is just crazy cool
Annnd, i'm in love. Yes, he's cute. But the styling...i die. So effortless! Boy version of Shala Monroque.
www.vivaswag.com
Awesome look! The satin jacket looks like Bengals to me.
What a beautiful man
I love the shape the hat takes... I have no idea of the actaully shape of the hat, it is slightly odd, but his confidence makes the hat work with the entire ensemble.... but those eyes light up the picture!!!
that's a hell of a lot of awesome
Love the scarf;D overall he looks very charming...
how cute is he!!
www.donotshoeme.blogspot.com
best outfit I've seen for years! Awesome!
DONE!
wool trousers, a late 70s Starter jacket, the Ghanan print cloth. colortheory, color choice. international, domestic = fashion of the African diaspora! I don't know where he's from but I love the way he represents!
*sp
Amazing picture... as always.. I am loving the scarf, I am not sure about the track jacket under the blazer..
www.picklesandcoffee.com
Wow! He is hadsome. Love those colors on him. Thanks for shooting a stylish African American. Would love to see more.
love this, gorgeous man, and i particularly love the way he carries it. you can tell this is his own look. the colors are fantastic, and are toned down with the khaki pants. would love to see more of him!
amazing play with color
xo
bravegrrl.blogspot.com
I love looking at him and I can hardly wait to read the comments. I think he's given us new tools to play with. Who thinks of shaping a sweater cap like that? The layering is geniusly inventive. The colors work. A+.
Distinguished looking young man-great colors in the accessories
He's cute.
Like his outfit too - sort of has an old world charm about it. I also like how he sports his "bling" in the picture (on hand).
I'd love to follow you around, to see how people react when you ask to take their portrait......
Stunning outfit and gorgeous face!
this man can accessorize!I love the scarf and hat
Love it. The point of the hat, the ribbing on the sleeve, the silk scarf and ta-da. excellent.
LOVE it! and so creative.
He's like a walking Kehinde Wiley Portrait. Awesome!
amazing, perfect.
Gorgeous.
~taryn xx
Wow, he is beautiful. Amazing shot!
www.greeneggsandglam.blogspot.com
I want the rings.... The gold one especially... This photo is also a reminder that I need to invest in a nice light blazer for this spring/summer. Blue blazer & white shirt never fails! xo-Poptastic
http://poptasticspastic.wordpress.com
Okay, I'll settle this once and for all. Everyone knows that the Bears wear navy and the Bengals wear black. Also, the letters on the jacket are clearly "E" and "N". G'head...blow it up.
This is one of my favorites! Very striking, beautiful composition and colors are perfect!
Baseball bomber and blazer?
This guy looks like the heir to a throne. Somewhere.
DYING to know what his SHOES were!!
I am totally getting a "Coming to America" vibe (you know, that movie with Eddie Murphy). Big props to the Zulu Nation!
Love it. So striking.
-Sarita
I adore this.
Especially that ring, which I want to steal. And he's a very beautiful man. And the way the colours echo is great.
So too is the swenka vibe I'm getting.
High marks for creativity, although think anything would look good on this guy's frame and under that handsome face.
I know that what he's wearing would definitely not look good on someone with a beer gut. In other words, on most male baseball fans.
Uhm, can we say ON POINT?! Dapper and a half.
beautiful portrait!
Ooh! He's very pretty!
gorgeous guy!! beautiful scarf and jewellery...
awesome combo!
No, not Eddie Murphy!! This is truly royal, dignified. He must have it somewhere in his genes.
It's funny isn't it that he has taken bits and pieces of quite ordinary pieces of clothing and made it all his own? This is real style.
And what a beautiful young man. I wonder who he is?
love the colors and textures! gorgeous.
great look, the color combo's are right on. to all who asked its a cincinnati beangals jacket under the blazer.
smart and wonderful
@ Kagitsune
[sigh]
How is this man "gangsta" in any way shape or form?
Are we looking at the same photograph?
Anyway . . .
I was wondering, Scott: What'd the button he has pinned on his hat say?
Do you remember?
I just wonder if the button provided a curiously succinct caption to his entire ensemble or to his mood that day, especially since he seems to know how to pick his accessories.
Great shot, Scott. It conveys one of the most interesting, complex looks you've posted here.
This young man's layering tells a lot about who is. Other commenters already pointed to the blazer and jacket symbolism, to the scarf printing, and I don't believe the red hat is random either: it's just a guess, but I think he is wearing it to pay tribute to his 'balanta' ancestors, an ancient ethnic group from Western Africa.
A cool & casual African King. Nothing phases him, but nothing.
Great picture. Reminds me a lot of William Eggleston.
This dude has a very strong demeanour. Very good combination of colours.
http://ozwaldboateng.blogspot.com/
I just love the colours! So vibrant but not over the top. Very elegant!

Abdoul is the future.
angles, textures, layering, patter so beautiful
Very FLY.
I am too intrigued by his fashion genius. I keep returning to this pic and the comments for the following: The ring, the little bracelets peaking out, his swag, the comments about his dress being the personification of the African diaspora. Your blog is a unique art form. Sigh, to know and love this man.
I just got back Kenya and what I love about the Samburu tribesmen is that they're the ones who wear the beaded bracelets and necklaces. The men wear beautiful colors up against their dark skin and it looks gorgeous, not effeminiate at all.
I think this young man pulls off the same effect with the simple but artful use of scarves.
He is so handsome...
and the combination of colours is great!
only in NY, i just love the mix between an african woman and a english dandy from the 60's
Lovely guy! The scarf is sooo perfect! Really lights him up.
I have to assume he's a model--people this gorgeous don't just wander around New York undiscovered. Anyway, I love the global styling of this outfit. He could be anywhere, Nairobi, London, Harvard Yard. He looks like an African prince on his way to a cricket match, or perhaps a grad student waiting for his date. Change out the baseball jacket and the scarf for a Brooks Brothers shirt and an Hermes tie and he's ready for a Wall Street power meeting. I love the hat and the jaunty angle of it. Wouldn't change a thing. I'm sufficiently charmed.
Go with your gut! I think its a Chicago Bears Jacket under a blazer, scarf, wool pants, hat, killing it!
So much positivity! Abdoul is a cool dude. A real creative. Check his blog out: http://toasttthegods.wordpress.com/
Wow.
Love it!
epic. pitch perfect.
I wonder if his hat is photographed at this angle or if this is it's shape.
I like what appears to be youth soccer jersey under that blazer. funny!
is he wearing a Cincinnati Bengal's jacket?
Something about the combination of that scarf, hat, and blazer is SO hot to me. What an awesome look, and you can tell he has the confidence to pull it off. Bravo maestro!
