Ah! The value of investment pieces! I love how everything she is wearing she will be able to wear stylishly for a long time. Everyone is trying to be green while at the same time consuming fast fashion. Any ideas of how much energy is used to create a simple tshirt? This outfit is chic, simple, and classic.

Blogger kitchenartist said ... (4:01 PM) :

Lovely. Just the type of crisp, clean, buttondown look I always lust after yet cannot attain because I'm entirely too zaftig/milchmaidy to pull it off.

Blogger Allbur said ... (4:01 PM) :

Waw! The perfect detail of this look is the LV bag, it's a-mazing!!!!!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:18 PM) :

Very chic...and yet, on her or anybody else I can't stand the natural color showing on the roots, especially when the hair is dyed to such an extremely unnatural color. Hair coloring should be one's own, only a little better.
Maybe it's her way of expressing a wild side, by going for a bright red mane.

Blogger Allison said ... (4:18 PM) :

love her. so simple and striking.

I am dying to peek under that divine coat and see what she is wearing beneath it. The clash of the red hair and the red bag is somehow enhanced and also softened by the colour of the coat. Very interesting.

Camel again, but of a paler shade. Simply love it. And I love the place where you took the pic. I used to work really near there, down Via Brera. Caffe' Garibaldi, the yellow building just behind the woman was my first touch with reality in the morning, before the office. Thank you Mr. Sartorialist for letting me remember this..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:24 AM) :

Anonymous bamto said ... (6:06 AM) :

i like this picture a lot, with the bag and the traffic lights...BUT i think accessoires shouldn't dominate the whole outfit, you should!and here definitely the bag steals all the attention from the woman...

Blogger Diane said ... (6:23 AM) :

Such a great attitude for that Vuitton bag. So minimal and still so chic!

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:44 AM) :

Yes the bag is great BUT for me the story is all about the coat (such a great cut) and the earrings...

Blogger Ste said ... (6:48 AM) :

I love the coat. Pure elegance! Sometimes double-breasted coats tend to be "too much", but not this one. This is so clean and it really looks it's made of excellent quality wool. I want to touch it!

To: Jorge from W Palm Beach, thank you for reminding us of the green aspect in fashion.... we do need to find alternatives to consuming lots of one season pieces and then discarding them without considering the energy consumption involved. Btw, I always enjoy your comments Jorge, they have been consistently smart and helpful to my untrained fashion eye, so thank you!!
Scott... love the four red points, bag, hair, lights!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:52 AM) :

Thank you for postin a picture of a woman who works in an office environment. The pictures or people dressed for concervative work places are very rare on this blog which makes sense. Sometimes the only way you can stand out is a really great bag.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:56 AM) :

I'm curious--is the stoplight on the right Photoshopped in? It seems to be on the side of the traffic light and too obvious a compositional add on.

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:03 AM) :

Blogger Unknown said ... (12:15 PM) :

Wow, this chick stole my clothes..except the Louis Vuitton bag..she can keep t though it's not really my style. My clothes look great on her.

Anonymous darlene said ... (12:58 PM) :

I like how both the traffic light and the bag say Stop at the same time! Was it planned or by chance?

Blogger CW said ... (1:43 PM) :

The more I scrutinize the photo, the less I like the bag. That is pretty. However, it is out of scale to the woman carrying it both in size (if a handbag) and because of its size, it is out of scale in color, too. I'm not writing about bag matching shoes. The bag should be an accessory to the woman and never the main focus. When an accessory is the focus, it detracts from the woman, and the woman is primary.

Anonymous Priscilla Joy said ... (1:48 PM) :

Goes to show that an investment piece is worth it!

Anonymous klara said ... (1:53 PM) :

cool handbag but clasic at the same time....i want it!!!

Blogger martis said ... (2:45 PM) :

wow, she mixed French, British and Italian style with her own sence of fashion... the fact is: it seems 2 be a little bit crazy, bt isn't she kinda wonderful?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:33 PM) :

The bag could possibly be way too obvious! In fact, the composition of the photograph is a little obvious too: contrasting the buzzing background with the utter silence of the woman and her outfit, and then bang! Patent red leather Vuitton. It's a little unimaginative, but damn does it look striking.

I love classic looks. She look put together and the pieces are timeless. She added a modern trendy twist with the orangy red louis vuitton bag and loafer :)

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:28 PM) :

it's NOT all about the bag. It does not matter WHO made the bag. It is HOW the PERSONALITY is projecting. Sometimes it is a bag, sometimes it is shoes, hats or something else. People , there is MORE to fashion then "the bag is GOURGE!". Fashion is expression, not a NAME, a tag or a price. THAT is a true art.

Blogger Kathleen said ... (10:32 AM) :

She looks fantastic. So poised and put together, but in a classic unforced way. I am glad now that I purchased an enormous "Known Brand" rich black leather bag for the Fall/Winter season. It cost way too much, but the longer I carry it, the better I like it and don't see how I ever got along carrying anything smaller. So the saying goes~ You get what you pay for. Besides, when you have a bag this large you can fit anything into it. I feel kind of eccentric when I stuff my pilates clothing into the bag so I can work out later when I'm on the go and know I won't make it back home to change before class. I kind of like this feeling, nobody knows but me. Hah!
