On the Street....Seventies Chic, Pitti Uomo

Wouldn't The Brady Bunch been so much cooler if this gentleman played Mike Brady.

Blogger Rosalind said ... (12:48 PM) :

I always love looking at these fabulous portraits and fashion shots. What I completely love about your blog is that every image stands out on it's own as a picture, as well as capturing the style of the individual.
I have no suggestion for modern day manners books, however I always find that the 'Complete Ettiquette for Ladies and Gentlemen' is brilliant if you need to something to make you smile. It really makes you realise how times have changed.

Blogger JV said ... (2:05 PM) :

I thought it was Eric Bana for a second. Anyway, good look, but only a guy that handsome could pull it off.

Anonymous Jeremy said ... (2:08 PM) :

Looks like a good version of Eric Bana

Rusalka

Blogger Lemon for breakfast said ... (2:20 PM) :

yes, very cool!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:26 PM) :

I like this very much. He looks so relaxed whithout seeming bored, like he is no hurry for anything but aware of his surroundings. He's got good posture, too. The glasses are perfect on him, they don't dominate the face. You know how some people hide behind sun glasses? He doesn't. But don't say the Brady Bunch would've been cooler if this man played Mike Brady. Say rather it would've been cooler if Robert Reed had been dressed this way (I think Mr. Reed would've pulled off this outfit, or Mr. Barbera's outfit down below, really well). But yes, do cast this gentleman in a remake or another show as the (very stylish) dad.

Blogger missdelite said ... (2:41 PM) :

Matching pocket square = perfection

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (2:44 PM) :

I don't think this style is that dated. He looks cool, no matter what the decade. (Minimal is the key word here.)

Anonymous Susan at Charm of the Carolines said ... (2:48 PM) :

Anyone would have been cooler playing Mike Brady! But I love this guy. And love your blog.

Blogger omarkhayam said ... (3:45 PM) :

he is the coolest guy to wear that white and navy blue. the rayban completed everything....i loike

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:51 PM) :

Hubba hubba! This look is timeless!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:04 PM) :

This has always been such a great look, it is cool but still approachable. Sadly, men's looks from the seventies are very rarely seen these days, it was such a great period for fashion (if you sort out the good stuff).

Blogger modGIRL said ... (4:21 PM) :

if he was, i would have actually watched the show! HOTT

Blogger SabinePsynopsis said ... (4:35 PM) :

Oh, I don't know if anything could have saved the Brady Bunch, but yes, he is cool - What is it with white trousers? They're often so wrong, but some men (the cool ones?) can pull them off.

Blogger Global Girl said ... (5:07 PM) :

The epitome of cool.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:46 PM) :

Had this been Mike Brady, I'm sure Jan would have developed an un-natural crush...

Blogger Unknown said ... (7:16 PM) :

Very Eric Bana in "Munich".

Anonymous Blondie said ... (7:45 PM) :

absolutely move over Mike Brady.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:20 PM) :

the side burns definitely adds in the retro look of it. Great catch!

Blogger Effie Yang said ... (11:08 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:26 AM) :

Eric Bana most definitely. I love the speck of white on the jacket, such a lovely contrast. Sideburns, extra hot.

Blogger Unknown said ... (3:30 AM) :

Now imagine a completely Italian version of the Brady Bunch, just think how chic Carol would have been!

Anonymous Aussiebird said ... (5:10 AM) :

great look! but i'd prefer different sunnies but still looks like a perfect dandy

Anonymous Joe said ... (7:37 AM) :

Rusalka -
Spot on with the David Hennings look in Blow Up. His white denim and rolled up blue shirt was killer. I think white looks fantastic post summer. Of course if it's worn the right way like this.

Cheers,

I just adore the 70s-comeback this spring, both among men and female fashion. Gone with the tuf 80s, in with the romance!

Blogger Meg said ... (11:51 AM) :

Your words made my entire day and it is only 9:48 MST...Yes, yes, and yes...an Italiano playing Mike Brady would have been so fantastic and would definitely have aided in my young life as to where I wanted to study abroad when needing to decide...Milan, city and land of beauty. Gorgeous photo.

Blogger Maison.Marie said ... (12:27 PM) :

ahhhhhhhhhhh those winter white pants!!! Just perfect!

Blogger Kathleen said ... (12:35 PM) :

What can I say about this gorgeous man? He's got the look for starters. I will use the word timeless again, he is timeless. His clothing, his hair, his attitude, the cigar (which reminds me of my husband) are all timeless. I like the little peak of white tucked into his pocket, classy! The last time my husband and I were in NYC he lit up a cigar on the street after we finished a lovely late lunch. People were complaining and chasing us down the streets like we were outlaws. The best part of the experience? My husband refused to put out his cigar, even in the face of an angry mob!
