Blogger Savoir-Faire said ... (8:16 PM) :

I love this shot. It's one of my favorite rues in Paris. The hat matches the building over the arches. The light from the lantern picks up the beige of this shirt.

He looks as though he has stepped out of another era. Wonderful!

Blogger Kathleen said ... (10:12 PM) :

What a sweet young man. Very slender, still a youth, but already working on his look. I think he's just finished his work day and is waiting for his girl to show up. He likes posing for your camera, likes being noticed. The air is crisp, the night is young, and all the world awaits.

Blogger Peter Lappin said ... (10:52 PM) :

Very vintage-looking coat. A little costume-y for me, but he makes it work.

Blogger Lisa Petrarca said ... (12:51 AM) :

This shot in black & white would give it a 1930's feel.

Great shot!

Anonymous groovergreen said ... (2:28 AM) :

Such a smart interpretation of an early '80s English new wave/ska style, which I have heard is quite the rage in Paris these days. I can almost hear the blast of saxophones and someone yelling "One step beyond ...!"

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:55 AM) :

There are so many details that should be thought over. But then again, where is the charm in perfection? Nothing to sugges, well maybe just a little kiss on the cheek ;)

Blogger Chia said ... (2:56 AM) :

I'm in love!!
the coat is too cool and sooo old fashioned! I love it! and the hair style too!!
That is a jump in the past and I simply adore it!

Blogger Diane said ... (3:05 AM) :

Looks 30's to me :P In a very good way!

Anonymous Phoenix said ... (3:45 AM) :

I know this kid...

His name is Callum,he is English, and models for Heidi Slimane/Runways etc.

The way he wears that hat is his trademark and totally uncontrived... he is a very cool guy.

Blogger twentyinsix said ... (3:53 AM) :

It's shot in Paris, but he doesn't look French to me. I wonder where he's from...

Blogger Diana said ... (4:21 AM) :

My first thought was also Belmondo!

Blogger JAJOGRI said ... (4:57 AM) :

great coordination coat-hat. love it.

Blogger Sophisticated Misfit said ... (5:15 AM) :

Nice work there. The buildings at his flanks add to the intensity of his gaze.

I have a massive wardrobe yet what I do not own is a hat. That will change tomorrow as I'll be the proud owner and wearer of a 1920s boater straw hat. The very ones that Italians introduced to America at the turn of the 20th Century as worn by gondoliers (sans ribbons of course just the band) Think Buster Keaton or Harold Lloyd, people. Hopefully the hipsters won't ruin this for me.

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:51 AM) :

This guy could partake in any Bruce Weber-production. The hat really suits him, the coat seems somewhat on the heavy side for him (but is nice), I just don't like the combination of the light hat and the dark wintercoat. It's a mismatch in colour and style.

Blogger Gon said ... (6:55 AM) :

Oh the lucky girl who catches his glance…

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:38 AM) :

C'est très beau... mais on dit "In the street" et non "on the street" (tu pensais peut-être à "on the road").

Blogger NVA said ... (9:03 AM) :

i like his coat...

Blogger Villa Nellcote said ... (9:12 AM) :

Interesting... I would guess fewer than 10% of guys you see are wearing hats, but 7 out of 12 guys on this page are wearing hats.

Does this mean that hats make you instantly stylish?

Or do inherently stylish guys favour hats?

Or do guys in hats just photograph well?

...hmm.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:23 AM) :

Totally agree with Ishita ,isn´t the hat . Is how is he wearing the hat and HIS FACE . Nice expression . Cool man . Very stylish . Of course great shot . Congratulations .

Anonymous Dounia said ... (9:42 AM) :

I don't kwow if that makes any sense but I love "how" you've taken the picture, the spot basically: in the middle of the street, parallel lines, the light that starts just right on top of his shoulders, but also the guy's expression...
This picture is much more than just a great coat. But there's almost always something, un "je ne sais quoi" that makes your work really beautiful, inspiring and UNIQUE.

Anonymous Dennis said ... (9:56 AM) :

Shoulders are too big on the coat.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:00 AM) :

Aw, he looks lovely! Adorable. I wish there were people as fashionable as this young man where I live. Guess I need to move to Paris one day.

Blogger Miss Nutmeg said ... (10:39 AM) :

sigh. I really should move back to Paris :)

Blogger FASHION SNAG said ... (10:47 AM) :

I love the photo. He looks like he came out of some old 1940s movie with the hat and the hairstyle and the fresh, boyish face. Love it.

Blogger Caroline Lees said ... (11:16 AM) :

Hat/hair, shoes, and man all look wonderful. I live in America, and I wish more men would wear hats, it really completes an outfit.

Anonymous princess glee said ... (11:35 AM) :

Oh no! I've been viewing this blog from my iphone as of late. That's no way to live. The subtleties of this man's dark attire were completely lost on me. I adore the textural constrast of the fur collar, the dark gray pants against his oxblood-ish colored coat, the shoes with the shiney (patent leather?) and matte (suede?). Effortless, nice.

Blogger John Danner said ... (11:41 AM) :

He's from the past!

Blogger krschmelzer said ... (3:31 PM) :

Colette's street...

Blogger ThePromenader said ... (2:25 AM) :

Are those shined shoes I see down there? I certainly hope the 'care' element that kind of style so needs returns to fashion - it would be a harbringer of the 'elegance effect' so missing from most of what we see on the street today.

Anonymous troy Benson said ... (12:44 PM) :
