Beautiful photo. Wish I could see more details of his coat, though . . .

Blogger Savoir-Faire said ... (8:16 PM) :

I love this shot. It's one of my favorite rues in Paris. The hat matches the building over the arches. The light from the lantern picks up the beige of this shirt.

Blogger Maggie said ... (8:20 PM) :

I love his face. Looks special and mysterious!

Blogger SnapandPrint said ... (9:52 PM) :

He looks as though he has stepped out of another era. Wonderful!

Blogger Kathleen said ... (10:12 PM) :

What a sweet young man. Very slender, still a youth, but already working on his look. I think he's just finished his work day and is waiting for his girl to show up. He likes posing for your camera, likes being noticed. The air is crisp, the night is young, and all the world awaits.

Blogger Peter said ... (10:52 PM) :

Very vintage-looking coat. A little costume-y for me, but he makes it work.

Anonymous travis said ... (10:57 PM) :

Stunning photography, great positioning! And the subject looks great with the hat!

Anonymous Ishita said ... (11:05 PM) :

Everyone loves the hat... i just love that look on his face!!!

Blogger Angeles Almuna Design said ... (11:16 PM) :

CRazy about the hat!!!!!!!!

Anonymous S. in Seattle said ... (11:40 PM) :

I love how the light hits him, as well as the scene behind him. Looks like early morning, streets aren't bustling yet. Beautiful shot, bien sur.

Blogger bern said ... (12:26 AM) :

parisans have the best style

Blogger Lisa Petrarca said ... (12:51 AM) :

This shot in black & white would give it a 1930's feel.

Great shot!

Anonymous groovergreen said ... (2:28 AM) :

Such a smart interpretation of an early '80s English new wave/ska style, which I have heard is quite the rage in Paris these days. I can almost hear the blast of saxophones and someone yelling "One step beyond ...!"

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:55 AM) :

There are so many details that should be thought over. But then again, where is the charm in perfection? Nothing to sugges, well maybe just a little kiss on the cheek ;)

Blogger Chia said ... (2:56 AM) :

I'm in love!!
the coat is too cool and sooo old fashioned! I love it! and the hair style too!!
That is a jump in the past and I simply adore it!

Blogger Diane said ... (3:05 AM) :

Looks 30's to me :P In a very good way!

Anonymous Phoenix said ... (3:45 AM) :

I know this kid...

His name is Callum,he is English, and models for Heidi Slimane/Runways etc.

The way he wears that hat is his trademark and totally uncontrived... he is a very cool guy.

Blogger twentyinsix said ... (3:53 AM) :

It's shot in Paris, but he doesn't look French to me. I wonder where he's from...

Blogger Diana said ... (4:21 AM) :

My first thought was also Belmondo!

Blogger JAJOGRI said ... (4:57 AM) :

great coordination coat-hat. love it.

Blogger Sophisticated Misfit said ... (5:15 AM) :

Nice work there. The buildings at his flanks add to the intensity of his gaze.

I have a massive wardrobe yet what I do not own is a hat. That will change tomorrow as I'll be the proud owner and wearer of a 1920s boater straw hat. The very ones that Italians introduced to America at the turn of the 20th Century as worn by gondoliers (sans ribbons of course just the band) Think Buster Keaton or Harold Lloyd, people. Hopefully the hipsters won't ruin this for me.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:17 AM) :

Callum's from London! Love the hat.

Anonymous VW said ... (5:17 AM) :

À bout de souffle - he just needs to find his jean seberg.

Blogger Lou said ... (5:18 AM) :

Anonymous monaconike said ... (5:38 AM) :

this looks like an old picture the light in it.and his shoes are tres chic!

Blogger Juan said ... (6:00 AM) :

lovely look.... it looks like Paris is heating hard¡
Keep going¡¡

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:29 AM) :

I love this outfit! That man looks really gorgeous. My boyfriend has the same style. He wears U-NI-TY, Y3, Paul Smith, Costume National...I really like when men take care of themselves.

Anonymous Leggings said ... (6:29 AM) :

the fur on that coat is awesome!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:39 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:44 AM) :

He looks cheeky! Love the hat and coat.

Blogger roelien said ... (6:51 AM) :

This guy could partake in any Bruce Weber-production. The hat really suits him, the coat seems somewhat on the heavy side for him (but is nice), I just don't like the combination of the light hat and the dark wintercoat. It's a mismatch in colour and style.

Blogger Gon said ... (6:55 AM) :

cool guy!

Blogger Laci said ... (7:21 AM) :

so english french eccentric! :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:55 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:05 AM) :

Now he has my vote for the most perfect cute guy. No, young man. He has these American in Paris, second-world-war-soldier-on leave, clean good looks. And so manly.

Oh the lucky girl who catches his glance…

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:08 AM) :

i just love how you are able to make every person look like they are in their own editorial :) it was worth waiting three hours in melbourne to see you!

Anonymous Adri. said ... (8:13 AM) :

This is my favourite street in the world.
Rue Saint-Honore.

Anonymous Joice Preira said ... (8:22 AM) :

Mi Piace.
Ciao Bacio

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:38 AM) :

C'est très beau... mais on dit "In the street" et non "on the street" (tu pensais peut-être à "on the road").

Blogger NVA said ... (9:03 AM) :

i like his coat...

Blogger Villa Nellcote said ... (9:12 AM) :

Interesting... I would guess fewer than 10% of guys you see are wearing hats, but 7 out of 12 guys on this page are wearing hats.

Does this mean that hats make you instantly stylish?

Or do inherently stylish guys favour hats?

Or do guys in hats just photograph well?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:23 AM) :

Totally agree with Ishita ,isn´t the hat . Is how is he wearing the hat and HIS FACE . Nice expression . Cool man . Very stylish . Of course great shot . Congratulations .

Anonymous Dounia said ... (9:42 AM) :

I don't kwow if that makes any sense but I love "how" you've taken the picture, the spot basically: in the middle of the street, parallel lines, the light that starts just right on top of his shoulders, but also the guy's expression...
This picture is much more than just a great coat. But there's almost always something, un "je ne sais quoi" that makes your work really beautiful, inspiring and UNIQUE.

Anonymous Dennis said ... (9:56 AM) :

Shoulders are too big on the coat.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:00 AM) :

Aw, he looks lovely! Adorable. I wish there were people as fashionable as this young man where I live. Guess I need to move to Paris one day.

Blogger nicolaselhani said ... (10:23 AM) :

BEST shot this of the Year.

Blogger neha said ... (10:39 AM) :

sigh. I really should move back to Paris :)

Blogger Jacqueline said ... (10:47 AM) :

I love the photo. He looks like he came out of some old 1940s movie with the hat and the hairstyle and the fresh, boyish face. Love it.

Blogger Caroline said ... (11:16 AM) :

Hat/hair, shoes, and man all look wonderful. I live in America, and I wish more men would wear hats, it really completes an outfit.

Anonymous princess glee said ... (11:35 AM) :

Oh no! I've been viewing this blog from my iphone as of late. That's no way to live. The subtleties of this man's dark attire were completely lost on me. I adore the textural constrast of the fur collar, the dark gray pants against his oxblood-ish colored coat, the shoes with the shiney (patent leather?) and matte (suede?). Effortless, nice.

Blogger John Danner said ... (11:41 AM) :

He's from the past!

Blogger Liliana P. said ... (2:42 PM) :

wow my favorite street in Paris!! what a beautiful light and the model is just perfect

Blogger CW said ... (2:59 PM) :

The hat pushed back on the head makes him look like a yokel.

Blogger Swiss Miss said ... (3:28 PM) :

farm boy comes to the city circa 1940. very nice

Blogger kristoph72 said ... (3:31 PM) :

i really love everything about this photo. the hat, the fur, the lines on the street, the contrast of light and dark from bottom to top. it's just great.

Blogger Maggie said ... (3:34 PM) :

the lighting is unbelievable--he pops out of the frame! Beautiful!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:40 PM) :

I wish I had his phone number. He's a cutie.

Blogger Amy said ... (7:46 PM) :

well HELLO!

Blogger Hayley said ... (10:13 AM) :

who is this man and where can i find him? his style is wonderful.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:23 PM) :

I wish the kids wouldn't look so costumey and obvious, when they go vintage...

Blogger PunkiMeowMeow said ... (2:30 PM) :

I love his clean cut good looks. It's a cool combo of Vintage and Mod.

Anonymous Thomas said ... (3:26 PM) :

Blogger thwany said ... (2:49 AM) :

so handsome

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:51 AM) :

Colette's street...

Blogger Sefu said ... (2:25 AM) :

Are those shined shoes I see down there? I certainly hope the 'care' element that kind of style so needs returns to fashion - it would be a harbringer of the 'elegance effect' so missing from most of what we see on the street today.

Anonymous troy Benson said ... (12:44 PM) :

fantastic... loving the hat.

Blogger Passport Smiles said ... (8:00 PM) :

oh my. i'm in love.
