Comments on "On the Street.....London Lets it All Hang Out, London"
Interesting ensemble. I wonder if the fur is actually attached to the outer coat.
He's so cool. love this.
v. cool
So chic! Yet so comfy and relaxed!
i like the unexpected layers.
He's way to stand and the look inhis eyes reminds me somehow Bily Elliot.
Quite clever solution: a jacket on a fur coat. It could be really inspiring.. I'd choose a light colored jacket instead.. And I would have more liked to see the fur's neckline peeking out..
How often do you see fur not as the focus of outerwear? Very little. I'm intrigued by the layering and the idea of accenting with fur, but I'm not totally comfortable with this look. I can't tell if it's the pants, or maybe the fur is just too much?

This - the fur layer underneath, the white T-shirt, the bare neck, the piercing gaze - is *amazing*. Where you find these people?
Always this superposition of different coat, it's a very nice idea. Have the fur by but keep it however hidden, great !
I like this.
blade-runner-isque
Nice layering!. Reminds me of the fall 2010 comme des garcons collection.
genius!
the title of this picture made me scared to scroll down.
but i do like whats going on with innovative layering these days..
usually I think long fur coats on guys looks stupid, but this guy makes it look really cool!
raw photograph, he has a serious schoolbuy face yet clothing suggests heightened sophistication.
Wow, this photo is great! Love the colours, the background, the idea of fur underneath the classic black coat and... well I have to admit he's cute :)
Hmm, I've always thought that fur doesn't fit men.
what can I say? you've outdone yourself...
I love the look but do you think it was driven by wanting the fur closest to his skin or fear of PETA people. Either way, this came out looking nonchalant and special!! I very seldom like fur looks but this is nice. Thanks for the pic SART!!
Layers, layers and layers, I just can't get enough of them and I bet this guy can't either....
Love the photo.
http://misanthropicpulp.blogspot.com/
The fur works great with his hair color, but putting over a black coat makes the whole outfit!
Let's grow up later
Unbelievable how such a loose fitting tee can be so functional.
How unusual to style the fur underneath.. It looks really cool though, nice colour :)
Love the simple white tee underneath.
bridget-frances.blogspot.com
his fox-coloured hair matches the fluffy undercoat he's wearing. Amazing lines and shapes, accentuated by the simplenessness of the black-grey-white. <3 love is in the air with this one!
stijn
Very interesting--is the fur a gesture or an addition for warmth? I love the way the fur picks up his coloring, espcially around his face.
High waist on the trousers looks good in this
while i like the overall effect, if i saw this guy on the street my reaction would be "give me a break." i mean, can he try any harder?
He looks beautiful until you scroll down to the saggy pants.
Walking art; I feel like drawing him.
PS: Gave your book to a dear friend of mine today as a birthday gift. She LOVES it. And I do too. Next edition please.
The proportions on this look are very interesting. I love the idea of a long fur vest under a coat.
http://spottedbym.blogspot.com/
stunning perfection
You know? This just doesn't work for me. The fur, the smaller coat over it? Just not working. Whaddaya gonna do.
Great cropping!!! Spectacular shot. I like how he has is own style without trying to be stylish.
He is doing something no one else is, and that in itself is a sign of brilliance don't you think?
a bit confusing
but it made me look
for a long time
that is good
i saw this young man at a fashion show on saturday evening and remember thinking how wonderful he looked! i think the layering of the coat of the fur is great especially with the simple t shirt and trousers :)
I love how simple this is, but then the fur really adds a nice touch!
http://ganymedekids.blogspot.com
Nothing caught my eye here
Wonderfull style!
xxx
layered understated fur. clever!
Just looks sloppy to me.
Adore the jacket
How absolutely fabulous, as only the English can.
Gobsmack'd
Lovely! But I don't like the trousers so high at all.
te amo sartorialist
amazing!
Great jacket!

A cool geek with something else in his eyes. I have some similar pics at my site, take a look if you have a few secs.
Mr Sartorial
Stunning.
Would LOVE to...stuck at work though!
Thanks for taking me there!
that's a fashion fierce glare. .this is a great photograph and a great look.
Another kid with more natural style than most grownups have in their pinky here in the good old USA. He is so tall and slender, could have done something more with the outfit to draw our eyes away from this, but all in all he looks fantastic. He's well on his way to being a fashionista!
Still wondering what exactly you're pointing at with that title...
But woa, this is gorgeous!
Not sure why but I find this creepy
Cool picture! His style is very "blase"!
Love sartorialist blog! Hope someone of you guys can check my style one day!
Sorry about my english, I live in Boston, but I'm from Brazil:))))
beijos
love the concept of 2 long jackets...must try it out!!
http://donotshoeme.blogspot.com/
what the London kids are wearing now, we'll see on the runways two years hence!such humour around dressing - i love it!
ooooh great textures...love the fur and the coat
fur beneath, nice
http://vodkacaviardreams.blogspot.com/
He's quite the fox isnt he!?
http://www.littlerazzi.blogspot.com
love the layering
First!
So subtle and cool
J'adore la veste en fourrure sous le manteau noir. Contraste interessant, j'aime beaucoup !
Lose the sloppy tee kid and go for a smart black turtleneck instead...
I am incredibly taken by this guy! What style! London is truly made up of the most beautiful people!
- Kara, North Carolina
I'm love with this coat !!
This is such a beautiful photo. And his layering is so simplistic but amazing!
love the high wasted pants! Although I'm not a fan of using fur it is a nice touch to this outfit!
i love that the outer coat is a zip, not button
also that the trousers sit high on his natural waist, not hang low on his bum like so many young adults' do these days...
He doesn't look thrilled at all to be photographed, "It's just an ususal day, can I go to work now?". Love the outfit and the realism in his face.
I think he did not find his style, yet. The picture really captures this.
I LOVE IT! Great picture!
For some reason his pale skin really compliments the look. Love the loose white shirt as well.
great layers
I don't know how I feel about this...I would probably enjoy it more if he wasn't wearing the black overcoat but just the fur...he's also waif-ishly skinny.
fridayswithcilantro.blogspot.com
this is just amazing
love the layering.
ah man, awesome. LOVE the fur showing underneath the coat, with a zipper!
love the coat.
http://thebuzzonfashion.blogspot.com
wow great style!!! high waisted pants and a t-shirt with a louse neck
The two trends that both you and Garance have captured lately, fur, and layering (short over long)
fabulous!!
www.jennykozlow.com.au
A perfect title for that picture :)
fabulous, oh to have been so stylish and cool when I was that young.
I hate furs as a garment. Sorry, doesn´t have any cool for me.
what a fantastic photo! I love the combination of the two coats.. the fur underneath looks amazing, and the pants. Everything just works together.
First!
Amazing coat... sweet face.
lovely textures...and what a beautiful young man.
Literally! Aahahahahaha
perfect layering.
BEST LOOK ON A MAN.
LOVE IT !!!!

DENNI
I really have a problem with the fur on men. At least he tried, but he missed, to me.
As usual the picture is still beautiful, it seems you could shoot anyone Scott!
See you
Oh, how funny: this is Ross Aston, a Central St. Martin's student! Just shot him @ a Topshop event, and again @ Somerset House. Wonderful, intelligent, charming guy.
You've got good taste, Mr. Sartorialist. It was good seeing you again: hope you liked London & sorry about the weather.
this is incredible. i wore the opposite today at somerset house - fur on top black on the bottom. next time i will try it reversed. xx
wow..gorgeous! it's the simple things that are beautiful..
the texture of the fur is kind of mesmerizing
it looks like it's a liner to another coat?
interesting
This. is. fantastic.
Nice!
Love the face and the layering of the fur peeking out under the jacket. xo

I have always wanted to layer a thin fur under an overcoat, but also a beautifully framed composition. I commend your efforts to make what is usually not recognized - recognized. Thank you for the photos.
I love this. such fantastic styling.
beautiful photo - as always :)
http://venomvenin.blogspot.com/
LOVE the fur under the coat. and the patched knee tops it all off
http://bighairandbikinis.blogpsot.com/
How can this guy have no comments??
Perfect...
really great style...u always get the best!!
I love this whole short over long thing going on. Garance has made mention to it and I think its a great change/"micro trend"
This image "reprents" where Christopher Baily gets his inspiration from from next season.
Lovely!!!!
Hope to see u in Paris!!! I'll be my best for u to take me a picture! hehehehe
Creative way to wear fur. I like it.
Beautiful. Love this combination of coats, and the rest would look great on it's own. Cool guy.
THis is incredibly fab i must say. I adore the way he layered the fur coat underneath. NEAT!
Love the layers, colors and his pasty white color.
he is ADORABLE.
love him!

Harry High Pants! This boy needs a feed and a wash. Does nothing for me this look.
Love the top coat.
Say no to fur please!
i like the levels he creates with his clothes. very visually interesting, and texturally as well, w/the fur.
The layers are fantastic. The color of the fur is striking against the dark shades in the overcoat and slacks.
I really want to like this outfit, but I just can't decide. it has charm, it is a slightly strange combo, but leaves me with the interrogation hanging above my head. But isnt that what true fashion is? I wonder...
very interesting layering. love it!!
love this guy... but i need to know... what were his shoes like?!?!?
naa.. not this time. Tshirt is slappy and i do not love the different lenghts.
the style and image of the crisis...Love it
that amount of collar bone showing on a young man always makes me nervous.
he has that something, the thing. beautiful
Such a beautiful English face- porcelain and androgynous. Looks like he's been busted stealing his Nans coat! The architecture behind the two London shots makes them look like time travellers- both look like Dickensian urchins .
Those Londories seem to like the more down to earth fabrics! Nudes andd furs. It's quite interesting :)
Goodle x
I love the way he is wearing these clothes...
Very interesting but perhaps I would not have put so large trousers with the coats
aha, the perennial wafer-thin white t-shirt under the open black jacket in the dead of winter! for how many years have slim, statement-conscious students made this their non-negotiable look, worth risking any number of consequent coughs and sniffles? .....but perhaps in this interpretation the fur will keep the flu at bay...
Hate the "simple white tee underneath." Hate the way it droops.
In spite of the fur he looks cold.
What sheer simplistic elegance! More young males should wear high waisted pants!
Simple white tee with bronze fur and a jet black over coat. Pure genius!
dear sart, this is one of your best photo's
not a fan of thin white tees revealing decolletage on men....its always makes them look a little wan and ill (although I THINK this may be the idea...) but he's cute...doesnt need to try so hard....love his bag...
I like the golden color of the fur against the dark pants and dark blue of the rest of the coat, but that stretched-out T shirt just looks sloppy.
This seems to me to be a case akin to the Emperor's new clothes, because by all accounts he looks ridiculous. It just is not a good look on any level. Sorry to break the news to everyone.
i like his outfit, and the way he has made a fur garment more of a minor detail that a garish statement.
i'd prefer it if he wore some jocks so that we couldn't immediately identify his religion.
How stupid the first comment is.. he "looks poor"? And how obnoxious to put your comment in bold.
That said, I love this look..it's so unexpected, it's just perfect. It really shouldn't work but it totally does.
This young man is undoubtedly charming, intelligent and kind. I know! Trust me! :) We're all so proud of him being a style icon on your blog sartorialist! You've picked the right guy! His style is inspirational and reflects his character in such truthfulness. You look amazing Ross.
With love,Central Saint Martins,FCP.
so different, he's doin his thing with this ensemble, very inspiring, winter photos in general are favoring layering in a nontraditional way...love the look
i love the fur coat, and i just think this shows how you dont have to have a ton of designer labels in order to look chic. this would never fly in NY or LA but paris or london its just perfect
Even though I'm miles away, I can't stop thinking bout u... I don't know what you did 2 me Ross but it worked!
Shame on you for promoting the wearing of real fur.
And shame on everyone else for cooing over it.
a young man who i have had the pleasure to meet and grow fond of, ross is captivating- it's undeniable.
an effortless stylish look. How i envy it!
I actually love it!
