i have ever think that it is just important what you wear but more important is how you wear it that totally difference a outfit a nice dress can look good but on some people the same dress look so much better the same is in that picture his outfit isn´t so special it is just the kind of he wearing it

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:36 AM) :

This is the ultimate background!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:36 AM) :

there's the touch of green again... i'm struggling to get this trend in this bottle shade of green... love a brighter green such as viviana's gloves in a recent shot

Besides the nice suit, Jacques has a charming smile.

Not yet an old codger at least from my own persepctive! Lovely picture.
You can see how well the jacket fits without seeing the details. (I will send this to my husband and brother. I am fanatical about fit.)

Love also the traditional white shirt, white hankerchief. Sharp.

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:03 AM) :

Que clase!!
I love the green scarf. An interesting point of colour which the black one.

Anonymous Oxford shirts women's said ... (9:04 AM) :

I really like his style!!The scarf is lovely!

Blogger Charles said ... (9:18 AM) :

The steps/stripes in the background make for an incredible natural frame. Also, the cut of his jacket really could not be better.

Blogger Ocean in Between said ... (9:27 AM) :

oh my! gorgeousness!

Blogger peevish said ... (9:34 AM) :

You are such a wonderful portraitist.

chic gentleman. Pitti is very good source of inspiration!

Anonymous Nadine2point0 said ... (9:52 AM) :

Very dynamic photo with those vertical and horizontal lines. I just had a flashback to a photography assignment I had in Design school!
There's that green again. Love it.

Blogger Daniel said ... (9:55 AM) :

It's interesting how everything can be transformed with a single detail - the deep-green scarf.
This man is a true sartorialist!
Let's grow up later

Blogger Lemon for breakfast said ... (10:00 AM) :

classic, but the scarf gives the look a special touch! :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:02 AM) :

I love the way this chap wears the scarf, it just drapes perfectly. It's always good to see the everyday worn with a twist. The suit is elegance personified just by the fit. I certainly don't see this as a picture of an old geezer. I wish I could see the shoes, I'm guessing their something well made and timeless. Any gentleman should aspire to look this stylish. Another reminder of why tailoring is king after the teenage years.
On another note, I think it's always easier to act like a gentleman when you look and feel the part. Mr Tweed

Blogger Rose. said ... (10:03 AM) :

Great smile ! He makes me think of Marcello Mastroianni even thoug he doesn't look like him...It's just the way he stands, the way he smiles, the elegance.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:18 AM) :

I just love the mix with the green scarf..elegance and "négligé chic"!!Great choice!!

Blogger Alberto Ortiz Rey said ... (10:20 AM) :

very chic!!

Blogger Rob Boddice said ... (10:24 AM) :

Supremely confident pose. I especially like the asymmetry of the tie knot, which bespeaks a certain quirk of character.

What a smile! He is so "at home" in his own style. I love the green (here we go again) scarf and the loosened collar. Tres chic. He is very sexy!

Blogger Ted said ... (10:37 AM) :

I love the forest green scarf! A very sophistocated and mature way to add colour to an outfit!

Blogger RJ said ... (10:49 AM) :

ALRIGHT I'm convinced. I need to get out here and gather some green essential items for myself.

I need to take advantage of THIS!

Blogger FASHION SNAG said ... (10:51 AM) :

This website is finally returning to its former greatness! The last two weeks have been stellar (notwithstanding the vacuous YSL video).

Blogger Eva / Sycamore Street Press said ... (11:25 AM) :

the cut of the jacket, the green scarf, the knot in his tie, the smile...he's found the perfect mix of looking put together without looking like he's trying too hard.

Blogger Lauren said ... (11:28 AM) :

It's good to remember that a smile is a priceless accessory.

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:28 AM) :

Normally menswear is quite boring to me, but the gentlemen featured on your blog the past week have been so compelling. I don't know if it's because they're mature, or Italian, or simply stylishly put-together in their own unique way, but I'm loving these photos!

P.S. - It's probably a combination of all 3!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:40 PM) :

The green scarf is an odd choice over a blue suit but it works great.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:53 PM) :

Can´t tell if the suit is navy or black. Slightly underexposed. But nice to have pictures again!!!

Blogger C. said ... (2:01 PM) :

clasic style, love it!

Anonymous Helen W. Mallon said ... (2:07 PM) :

On my computer, at first the scarf looked black, not green. I had to study the picture closely, at which point the man said something I couldn't quite catch! Perhaps he thought my manners were bad?

(that was a joke)

Love the just off-kilter tie and hastily tucked scarf. True style comes out of a confidence that's not self-conscious at all, and therefore not 'perfect'.

Anonymous Nancy said ... (2:12 PM) :

How simple. The scarf really cinches the whole look — brings it to a level of elegance. Not to mention how handsome the gentleman is. Keep smilin' baby!

Blogger Unknown said ... (2:12 PM) :

what a smile! green works really well here.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:18 PM) :

Truly Perfect! The fit is so crisp- the smile is so soft.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:40 PM) :

very handsome.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:50 PM) :

That scarf is PERFECT! And gorgeous and I want it. It actually brings out the blue.

Blogger CW said ... (3:22 PM) :

A very well tailored suit. OTOH, what appears to be a black tie with his navy suit makes him appear as if he has to attend a funeral sometime that day. A brighter tie would match his bright smile.

Blogger San said ... (3:42 PM) :

He definitely feels confident and good with himself. Impressive.

Blogger Judith Ross said ... (4:49 PM) :

I knitted my son a scarf for Christmas this year: Knew there was a reason I made it forest green!

Blogger Unknown said ... (5:51 PM) :

nothing beats forest green, a nice and a smiling man.

Anonymous bastian said ... (6:35 PM) :

I really like the look, clean, tight, some little highlights not more.

Blogger SMII said ... (7:13 PM) :

I'm a keen observer of sophisticated dressers and I must report this man is one. Love the evergreen tie

Blogger Sophisticated Misfit said ... (8:52 PM) :

I have hundreds of ties - a bit of a collector, really, ranging from rare Hermes, Ferragamo, etc. yet I rarely wear one. When I take the time to wear one, the knot is perfect. I find it in bad form to sport one as though just stepping out of a tavern with shirt button undone. I would rather go without. Sprezzatura it isn't.

Anonymous Helen said ... (8:54 PM) :

Ah.. now this is the kind of man I would like to share a coffee or a glass of wine with, that fabulous smile which looks like it gets used often, would make him an engaging companion I think. Thank you for the lovely photograph.

Monsieur Jacques is on your blog at least second time (as far as I remember)... The way he uses his scarf makes me cry!!! It's an art as such! And his face / his smile - for me, personally is the LIVING 100 % PROOF THAT GRACE
- has no gender;
- has no age;
- has no nationality

He just emits tons of grace and graceful attitude. J'adore :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:51 AM) :

Dressed to a tee. Perfect!
He could be wearing anything perfectly - with that delightful smile!

Anonymous rio555 said ... (3:55 PM) :

Delectable! I just love when men look like they are comfortable in their own skin and happy with their lives. More attractive than anything is a joie de vivre!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:15 PM) :

Hey I'm all about geezer power, because I am one!! And this gentleman looks like a million bucks!! I'd wear it all in a heartbeat....

That's one of the plusses about getting older, there is a whole new territory of self expression.

Blogger STUDIOPHOTO1 said ... (7:00 AM) :

hello Jacques ; to live in Toulouse keep him green !! Certainly one of the last fashion addict retailer in France.
