And the "Use Your Brain, Not Your Ego" challenge continues. Wow, what can I say about this incredible lady? In a few words: All over the chart but nicely done. I couldn't go here, but she obviously can and does it well. Her smile is infectious, and her legs are great. Power to the creative ones, for they push us forward to find ourselves!

Anonymous Runway Reviews said ... (11:14 AM) :

yes it's difficult to survive with antartic climate and tanking economy but with a funny skirt and a smile, it's much better!

Anonymous hk said ... (11:17 AM) :

where is she gooing? where is she gooing? where is she gooing?... looking so perfectly dressed like that? a fuzzy hat and an even fuzzier sweater with a metallic dress.. oooh i cant take my eyes off of this lady!

Anonymous Laura said ... (11:21 AM) :

It's funny to see how a "so thought about" look can give you an idea of easy-going, relaxed and not worried style. How she choose our clotheds says something about who we are, and how we want to put ourseleves out there, so I find it funny to see how dress codes are, somehow, "double identities"... However, don't get me wrong, I like her style, it's very well put together in a way that you feel she's aprochable but still very "chic" as we say in france :)
Voilà!

Bisous français.

Anonymous C. said ... (11:48 AM) :

I like the contrasts of the colors.

Blogger moreskinnydays said ... (11:51 AM) :

I would like each piece separately, but not together. Her warm smile is sweet though.

Blogger the style crusader said ... (12:02 PM) :

love that pop of pink sequins! was totally not expecting that!! xx

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:17 PM) :

Love the colours of the scarf(lam), sweater and skirt/dress together, but the fabrics/textures are a mismatch to me. I wonder though, maybe a different bag would have brought it all together (for me). Somehow I feel that an less 'aggressive' bag (i.e. not black, but a soft colour, yet one outside the colour range of the sweater) might have done the job. Also, very curious to know what shoes she chose to complement this outfit.

Anonymous emma said ... (12:32 PM) :

It's with photos like this that I wish you would list where people got their fashion items - I want that sweater! (Though, really, I wouldn't change how you do it here for the world. I'm simply coveting...)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:38 PM) :

What's it got on its feetses?

Cute outfit, but probably not very warm from the top of the thighs down.

(She might want to worry about that tarantula on the top of her head.)

Anonymous darlene said ... (12:38 PM) :

How cute! I especially like that super-chunky knit next to the shimmery skirt fabric.

Blogger Joy Mars said ... (12:41 PM) :

Cute, but those tights aren't very warm.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:56 PM) :

scott, since you are a man in the know and in the cold of new york....could you please please recommend the best parka to buy. i am not asking for much...just very warm but nicely fitted, lovely big hood (but no silly fury trim), ideally khaki....see, very straight forward...except that i can't find it anywhere!! (and i have been looking for ages) ....i know spring is coming but we are still in february in the cold. beside it should be a design classic, shouldn't it! any tips would be very very welcomed. thanks!

Blogger Unknown said ... (12:58 PM) :

so sexy!

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:04 PM) :

I love the knit sweater! I am a fan of all things knitted and this is just gorgeous! I also love how she is wearing a pink or purple skirt underneath! It definitely adds some spice to the ensemble.

Blogger WC said ... (1:40 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:50 PM) :

oh colored sequins, my ultimate lust. must find something like this soon. but she needs a few more pairs of tights there! layering stockings is surprisingly warm.

I was listening to a student in the University of Maryland gym speak about his weekend adventure to NY's West Village. "The chicks, man! They're hot. Not L.A. hot. Like hot, with brains and class! Damn, I wish I lived in New York."
It is women like this that give our beautiful reputation! Thank you!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:14 PM) :

She's simply too old to still be wearing a minishkirt. Mutton dressed as lamb. (I'm 44 yrs. old myself, probably within a year or so of the subject.) The logoed purse is gauche. Love the scarf and the sweater. Again, there's an age limit on the stocking cap.

Blogger The Shitty Astrologer said ... (4:38 PM) :

Very funky, particularly the 3rd capture - absolutely love the shimmer skirt and bag...Winter looks don't have to be dowdy at all...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:50 PM) :

I think it's great, but that's how I dress INDOORS in winter. Outside, I would have another layer plus a big, heavy coat on top. As for her legs, well, I tend to wear thick leggings (even ski pants) under pants. I am looking at all the winter pictures and thinking, isn't it cold in NY right now? Why aren't these people dressed? I love to look good, but I HATE to be cold.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:24 PM) :

Anonymous Kiki von Tiki said ... (8:39 PM) :

I have to say I just don't understand New York women when it's cold and they dress in skimpy little skirts and pumps and then throw a big ol' sweater on. WTF? It's seriously as stupid as a 15 year old girl wearing a tank top and shorts in the rain just to look cute. I don't care how cute you look it's just DUMB.

Blogger the Citizen Rosebud said ... (8:40 PM) :

unusual combination, and yet she makes it work. best accessory? that drop dead gorgeous grin. yow-fookin-zow!!! lovely.

Blogger Andre Gorr said ... (9:13 PM) :

Anonymous princess glee said ... (12:48 AM) :

Cuuuute and sparkly and textury and cozy and chilly legs. Nevertheless I still like it all.

Maybe the skirt could be a little longer but she has nice legs, so why not.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:13 AM) :

OK, ladies. 'Fess up. (Even though I like the lady's look ...) Can you really stay warm while wearing a miniskirt?

Anonymous middleseason said ... (4:17 AM) :

What to say? I love every details in this woman! she is so smart

Blogger Connie said ... (4:21 AM) :

I love the idea that a piece of clothing usually reserved for more glamourous night time event, can be paired down with a knit for daytime and still look so amazing.

Anonymous Joanna Roman said ... (5:42 AM) :

Ha! Very intereting example of "gifted person"... I will not wear this items mixed together (however, every single one is great!) because I do think it will not make me look good... BUT THIS WOMAN IS GIFTED: she knows exactly what to wear to look cool, somehow intriguing / a little excentric and still chic...Respect

Blogger Diana said ... (7:48 AM) :

What about the shoes? Martens or heels?

Blogger l´habitué said ... (7:54 AM) :

Love this winter look! The purple sequined skirt peaking off the wool is brilliant! Would love to know what shoes she has on.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:14 AM) :

You would need a huge sweater indeed to make up for half your body being only covered by a thin layer like that..

Blogger stylespotterfashionblogger said ... (10:45 AM) :

I have seen her picture in the same outfit (not the same picture though) on another website...but I can't remember which. She must have caught everyones attention!

nice clothes, great bag, amazing look, but i hate the skirt:-(

Blogger 82Brute said ... (10:16 AM) :

This is the perfect example of what a fine line there is between Fabulously Impish and Bus-Station-Lady Crazy. She's firmly on the side of the former, thankfully, but she's a snagged stocking and a bit of smeared lipstick away from the latter. Her smile and gorgeous skin is what holds this all together. Applause.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:46 PM) :

ugh, she looks like a figure skater! don't like...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:23 AM) :

To those who say she's too old for the look--bah. She's not trying to look young (_that's_ tacky); she's simply wearing a very silly ice-skating skirt, probably to have some fun with the icy weather, and mixing it with some contrasting pieces. One is never too old for a sense of whimsy and individual style. (And the opaque tights save the mini from being too... that unpleasant thing that miniskirts can be.)

Anonymous Panache said ... (3:11 PM) :

This lady looks happy in her fun skirt, which I love. She may be cold, but she does look cool!

With a smile like that, who notices what she is wearing?

Anonymous Nastya said ... (6:33 PM) :

Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous. There's nothing I would change about this outfit; it's perfect! To anyone who says she's too old for it, jealous much? BWAHAHAHA. Jealous of her courage, jealous of her originality, probably mostly jealous of her body! She looks so sweet, too, like the kind of person I'd want to have tea with. As for the weather factor, the top makes up for the bottom. I know from experience~ She's probably wearing another thick sweater and maybe a thermal shirt under the knit one.

Anonymous Alex at Try Thermal Underwear said ... (4:38 PM) :

Nice, maybe she has thermal underwear under that knit? :D Love the pink skirt :)
