So beautiful to see the sun in their eyes!
Love the blue sky and the orange lipstick. Beautiful colours!
Gorgeous contrast.
Both are totally gorgeous with mysterious eyes. This is where the clothing is irrelevant because the faces capture all the attention. Beautiful backgrounds too!
something new. i like it!
I am liking the close-up shots. It's nice with a different angle this time.
love it! fashion is carriage in so many ways.
stunning photographs today ... wow .
It's Waris Ahluwalia!
gorgeous. sometimes it's healthy to see the people and not the clothes. beautiful portraits.
I adore these photos, especially the first one - there is something so fresh about them. They've made me realise that the face says so much more than clothes.
Soho Siren
really beautiful photos. the colours and expressions on their faces are incredible. i love all the textures around their faces. really lovely.
That lip color looks good on her.
Wow, this shows how a smile can be the most stylish thing you can wear
For the first time, while I love the photos. I don't like the post. It has an air of something that doesn't jive.
beautiful one and both, love Waris Ahluwalia, a true gent.
STUNNING! I think one of your best photographs. Really something to hang on your wall!
It is about confidence. smiles.
Wow. They are both beautiful.
Beautiful!
these pictures are amazing! i don't know what it is that makes them so beautiful, maybe the colors, but i loved them from the start!
the man is an actor, I think you can see him on The Darjeeling Limited...
That is some absolutely stunning photography...
so beautiful and soft. I love these..
Who is she? Why isn't she in the movies????
I love the soft expression of secrets in their eyes. No one can know what theyre thinking about and damn these lovely portraits makes me wanna know!! The fact that our thoughts are ours and no one can ever know them unless we express them is really lovely and scary!

How so?
Beautiful shots. Love the way the sky softly frames the faces and the city is recognizable in the background. An original take on "street" fashion photography. Soulful portraits too.
Sometimes clothes can distract from the persons face, sometimes as you say they can frame it. Great to see a differnt angle on things!
She looks the spitting image of a young emanuelle beart...Brilliant portraits, with that stark celestial blue as background.
Two perfect photographs Scott, thank you. These two are really putting themselves "out there" which I love. Once again, you have renewed my faith that we too can put out the fashion goods. Happy Monday to everyone!
Lovely faces, lovely eyes, lovely sky...
Beautiful portraits both!

How so?
Maybe it's the lighting. You've always used natural lighting. Here it looks as if you've had some help, although I have no way of knowing for sure. It starts to be more about the photography than the subject maybe? And there are more than enough photography blogs. That said, I really like these portraits. They're terrific. You're excused for having a little fun, in my humble opinion. I don't see it as a loss of focus necessarily.
Is that Hannah Davis?

THESE TWO MUST BE SOME KIND OF CELEBRITY???? AM I RIGHT????

MELISSA
just gorgeous. . .

Bravo ! I love those portraits. They are so different and yet something in the way you present them makes the link. Fantastic colours and light.
uhhhhh i am OBSESSED with orange lips right now.
So mad happy that you put up a picture of Waris. More sikh men who aren't afraid to follow the faith need to be recognised. It does not hurt that he is amazingly good looking as well ;)
xxx
wow, that girl is so beautiful!
I love how you captured the depht of their feelings in their eyes. Marvellous.
Who is the woman? She was on Garance's blog and Hanelli's blog a couple of days ago, so she must be in the industry somehow. She is very pretty. Her face deserves to be framed.
I already see this in an art gallery :).
i swear, red lips are the perfect quintessential accessory, every time.

What is so precious is that this bright and reflecting the sun effect is not due to some...photoshop miracle! Good photographer, good models!
Amazing, amazing. The top picture is stunning at first peep. But the second warms up to you, sneaks in and snaps the heartstrings. A sensitive portrait. There you have it.
I love her red lips and the scarf perfectly frames her face. xo

LOVE the bright lipstick & naked eyes...very refreshing.
Grey again...I'm telling ya, looks good on everyone!
Scott, if you're at the Thom Browne show...look for my son, Jullien Herrera (he's in it).

I love her lipstick!

Is that the actor from the Darjeeling Limited? The guy who also played the camera-man in the Life Aquatic?
Regardless, he (and she) look(s) awesome.
I adore these! The colours of her clothes and that lipstick! amazing
I love your "new" focus, the portaits and everything. This morning Garance and now those two. Wonderful.
fantastic pics! :)
love these two pictures. Bravo!!
I try to do something in the same spirit since few weeks...
I have to work and work....
Thank you for your look on 'everyday street life'!
mm
Beautiful photographs, wonderful compositions.
He is always stunning- and so is she. Great pairing of photos. Wow.
Stunning, stutting photos. You are really drawn into their personality! The woman's playful hair flipping about in the breeze, and the triangle created by the man's turban draw us in.
-Robyn
i like these a lot. they both have such piercing eyes.
also i am so jealous of her hair.
Beautiful photos. She looks like a young Brittany Murphy.
Beautiful; are they models?
love both the portraits... the guy wears his indianess really well... super chic... the the red lips always get me...i agree she looks like brittany murphy...
http://donotshoeme.blogspot.com/
I think you took a picture of the same guy on 04/20/2009....
He is absolutely from Darjeeling and Life Aquatic. He is such an amazing character. She's beautiful too. Both have great style.
love the bottom scarf.. those colors and lines give a touch of "masculine" color and thought
Great pix!
The gal is at the peak of her young beauty. The guy - he looks wonderfully mysterious and handsome.
Home run!!
I love the girl's makeup, so beautiful and...I can totally make her scarf. Cute.
stunning
I love the colors-- that lipstick is her shade!
wow, i love these...
I like that you've been featuring more portraits lately.
Laurel Pantin is pretty but in this portrait she is stunning.
I like the clean lines and the glow of both pictures... It makes it feel like spring is coming.
Both of them look classy, sophisticated and ready to *do* something. It captures what I am aiming for at this time of year.
we just have to say from brooklyn to anonymous, no girl has only one peak of beauty, there are many over a lifetime.
I'm loving the lipstick!!! yay for her
Seeing the girl, makes me wish I could turn her age again. Today, everything seems to be ok, when I was her age, the possibilities were scarce. But I have my experiences, something she lacks.
Love them. I have to say, the new red-orange lips that are showing up everywhere rock my world. I never thought I'd be an "orange lipstick" kind of woman but that teaches me never say never! It's a great trend esp on the heels of so much dark fatale red.
That's the train conductor from Darjeeling Limited, yes?
so so beautiful
what did you meant by faint heart? He is not even a muslim. He is a Punjabi...religion derived from Hindu. Men are encouraged to keep their hair long n tie then up in a bundle (turban) If you noticed, he'd probably also have a tiny bulge in the turban-where he stores his tiny comb.
I met this man on a train in India.
Love these. Especially the second.
he is wonderfull and unique in his style...love him...
she looks amazing!! reminds me of marilyn monroe.
Oh dearest Sart,
those are the best pictures EVER! So wonderful. A reminder why it is nice to be human, to live on this earth, to breath, to think.
At least for today they stop me from just taking the leap of faith out of the window.
Thank you.
No Way!! I just saw Darjeeling Limited two days ago! Wes Anderson is a genius for using this guy. He is the ultimate straight man that is humuorous to boot because of his timing. Love these shots, Sart--they have a hopeful/other worldly quality about them. W.A.'s beard jumps off the photo (almost).
I'm a scarf wearer, and I love how different these scarves are: the first, the most basic and simple knit, and the second, a more complex textured silk with different coloured threads. Both suit their wearers and draw out their characters. While she could probably wear his scarf, it wouldn't do as much for her as the one she's wearing - and it certainly wouldn't give the same beautiful, insouciant vibe. And I can't imagine him wearing her scarf, period. These photos show how how much is conveyed by what is basically a length of cloth.
very inspirated portrait of the girl
Laurel looking gorgeous as ever! The lip shade is Mandarina from Milani Cosmetics. www.milanicosmetics.com
Fantasticno
Back at you Brooklyn:
I said "peak of her YOUNG beauty"
I agree, girls & women have many peaks (and sometimes valleys) in their beauty during a life time.
Beautiful.
And I quite like how chatty you've been on your blog lately. It's a nice departure from just outfit posts.
When I saw the picture on the top, I didn't really think much of it. Pretty girl, ordinary outfit, from what I could see of it. And then I saw the second photo.
These two pictures work together beautifully as a diptych, and they really should never be presented in any other way. The similar backgrounds, postures, and lighting tie them together and yet the contrast is striking and unforgettable: the plumpness of her face and the line of his cheekbones, the lightness of her hair and the curl of his beard, her flashy red lips and his conservative turban. Even the directions that they are looking compliment each other.
I don't know if you meant to arrange them this way on purpose, but really, these two photos, as a diptych, not side to side or switched, but just the girl above the man is such a perfect arrangement and was meant to be just so.
He is in the movie the Darjeeling limited, i recognized it at once! hah, looks great!
AH! the guy has totally been in more than one wes anderson film. i have always adored his look. the two photos look wonderful together!
Amazing portrait of Waris Ahluwalia!
Love the mysterious gaze i his eyes.
I heart Waris Ahluwalia!
the man and the women are both beautiful. love it!
Just in case you're wondering, the girl is a writer for teen vogue.
Darjeeling Limited...
i heart the Life Aquatic and the Darjeeling Limited.
