Blogger Toil and Trouble said ... (3:20 PM) :

love the layers, the pallete, the tousled hair. love the shoe part of the boot, but the top looks like a tied up shopping bag. kind of wonderful but in an annoying kind of jaded trust fund art student sort of way...

The boots, the boots, the boots! The colors are great too. Better still, the climate is cold enough to wear such. Not complaining but Los Angeles is warm and sunny. Jackets, tweeds, tights, boots, are far from my mind's reach.

Blogger SorellaStyle said ... (9:21 PM) :

Those boots are what dreams are made of. I'll have a pair in every colour please!

Blogger Carol said ... (9:58 PM) :

All right, crazy-ass shoes are how the industry wants us women to spend $ this year. GOT it. We'll see these shoes in the consignment shop in 2 years. At least she'll wear the other elements of her wardrobe here for another 20+ years. Some of us have to walk 30 mins. to the train.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:10 PM) :

she's too fierce for her own good i'm afraid...

Anonymous I.A. said ... (10:14 PM) :

I wish the skirt/dress length was a bit shorter so that it makes her so much more taller.
And I know it's winter but I feel like she's overlayering and it's too heavy. Maybe if she didn't scrunched up her sleeves then maybe it'd look better.
But I like the color combination and how it makes the purse stand out.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:38 PM) :

I don't keep up that well with women's fashion, but I do know what I find visually pleasing.
Those boots are just plain unattractive.

Anonymous edinamonsoon said ... (10:58 PM) :

Love the boots. Love the bag. She's got enough attitude to sell the whole look.

Blogger Ms. Banks said ... (11:01 PM) :

this has to be my favorite ensemble yet. i love the layering and the crazy shoes. she had fun putting this together i can tell.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:04 PM) :

Fashion should be joyful and sometimes funny, but I'm laughing at those boots for all the wrong reasons.

Blogger ADJ said ... (11:29 PM) :

She is amazing looking. Love the boots and the bag!

www.greeneggsandglam.blogspot.com

Blogger Lisa Petrarca said ... (11:40 PM) :

A little too much going on here. How hard would it be to walk in those boots?

That would driving me nuts...flopping around with every step!

Anonymous Vi said ... (1:59 AM) :

I like the colours, I like the jacket layering, I like the shoes. But the whole ensemble just makes her look like a fashion victim.

Blogger Unknown said ... (2:19 AM) :

I like the layers and the mix of different shades of green and grey. I'll throw my hat into the loving the boots ring, and wondering where they're from as well.

paper bags are shoes?

Blogger Vitrinen said ... (3:00 AM) :

Cool outfit, except for the boots, they are somehow too much. Though I can´t figure out wether it is her who doesn´t carry them well or if it´s the boots themselves.

Blogger San said ... (3:07 AM) :

Interesting layering and attitude. But the bag and the shoes, ugh.

Blogger thwany said ... (3:13 AM) :

Blogger Diane said ... (3:33 AM) :

The boots are crazy pretty! But I would have used another jacket with that skirt...

Anonymous Maria said ... (3:39 AM) :

I love the colour combination and the bag, but those shoes are hideous, just too big.

Blogger Sara Lee Bentley said ... (4:44 AM) :

This outfit is probably studied but I love the way the slouchiness of both her boots and handbag add a nonchalance. I rarely like suits (even worn as separates) because they seem too uptight. This is a good job!

Blogger sushivskebab said ... (5:21 AM) :

A stylish lady, no doubt ... I like the ton-sur-ton outfit, however I would choose for her a different bag: different shape, different colour!

Anonymous lyrebirdgully said ... (5:31 AM) :

The boots should be called "Tornado aftermath".They appear to have suffered an incident with a large canine. Never mind, the outfit is still a treasure trove for the style-hungry, as many readers have explained. But what about the pose...so intriguing!...right hand hidden in inner breast pocket(?)of sportscoat, and a 3/4 stance to show off simultaneously the boots, the jacket design, the bag and the sleeve details. But the very best of all the details are the veins in her left hand. This hand is the composition centrepiece, anchoring the hair/bag/hand triangle; and in contrast to the other hand, this hand is relaxed and fully revealed. It's the presence of this hand which gives the photo(in spite of all the clothes) the visual intensity of viewing a life drawing model.[Portraits where the hands are busy obscured, or gloved, e.g. most of the recent shots, have an entirely different feel.] Top subject and top photo, Mr.S!!

Anonymous Joanna Roman said ... (5:46 AM) :

O yeah!!! She is amazingly stylish! I just adore the way she plays with colors & layers / lenghts / shades / patterns /textures of materials she wears.

And her pose, her face - she is just brilliant: bold to be brave :)

Anonymous Replica Jewelry said ... (6:26 AM) :

She is looking very stylish in this long heal black shoes. I just love her style.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:49 AM) :

This must be the first time for me to leave a negative comment. But I'll try it in a constructive way. First on the positive side, I love the colours.. I like all pieces that she has used individually but the proportions do not work together as a whole. She should've opted for a shorter dress shirt or something. Slouchy boots do not work with a skirt of that length and the layering on top looks a bit heavy to me. Maybe a more lightweight cardigan could've better for the three layer look.

Blogger Alice said ... (8:31 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:36 AM) :

off-balance outfit,
not in proportion,
make her legs look very short, but her upper body look extra long,
definitely will look better if the skirt is shorten, so that her legs don't look ridiculously short with the block-of-brick-like-boots.

Blogger Anea said ... (8:49 AM) :

Love his bag!

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:47 AM) :

I love her, what an outfit. Monochromatic yes, but in a good way. No, great way. I love her sassy posture, and the way she puts it all together. I'm especially loving her accessories! Great photograph!

Anonymous Sevin said ... (10:01 AM) :

Yes, great attitude, and I love the boots. But, my God, she looks as if she's about to pull on you. I would have run the other way. God, look at that slush. I wish we had some slush over here in L.A. instead of more of this g*dd*mn sun.

I can't believe how many people love these boots. They are absolutely hideous. They look like they accidentally fell down around her ankles. Look how skinny her calves appear because of the boots. The rest of her outfit goes together well. The other exception is the way she has her jacket sleeve rolled above that thick wool sweater. No. No. No.:)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:48 AM) :

Not loving it. A try hard.

Anonymous MaddyC. said ... (1:02 PM) :

the length and the volume of the skirt makes all of the gathering happening come across a bit sloppy. however, given the right balance, the layering on the top half of her body(paired with that Ms.Thang attitude)would be so chic.
The boots need a look with less going on so that they can really shine.
