Anonymous Librarian said ... (3:23 PM) :

This is similar to the Isabel Marant coat I had for Christmas! Mine is dark grey but I love this pale neutral coat and scarf with all black accessories.

Anonymous The Photodiarist said ... (3:23 PM) :

What a fantastic vantage point for a photo. Great work. Love the person coming in on the right.

Blogger Style Scanner said ... (3:24 PM) :

The Acne wedges appear to be THE shoe of the moment.

Blogger Unknown said ... (3:28 PM) :

want the coatt....

Blogger Bob Spears said ... (3:30 PM) :

Very nice cold weather look. I like the muted color palate. It seems perfect for the cold weather. The black hat, gloves and hose provide a nice frame for the gray coat and scarf. My wife sported a pair of those shoes the other night and they looked great on her as well.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:30 PM) :

I want her to style me!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:40 PM) :

fantastic proportions and color (or lack thereof)!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:45 PM) :

Adore that coat!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:51 PM) :

I find the coat and the scarf lovely! Sadly, the choice of shoes, ah well, perhaps the 'clubs' are en route home later and she chose them for that, but clearly not this coat. Seperately marvelous, but mixed as well as oil and water I'm sorry to say. - robert

Blogger j. said ... (3:55 PM) :

i am third to comment!hah!

love the way you see people, not just for what they wear but how they appear to you as persons.with real lives and stories, tucked under their shirts.hidden behind their scarves.

how lucky are these people to have been seen by you.

thank you for sharing with us your thoughts and these beautiful images.

have a good day.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:20 PM) :

She looks very cute. Weird thing to say, but I think her eyebrows really show personality (it makes her look more edgy instead of soft).

And dear Sart, what a georgeous photograph. I love the depth in this one.

So happy you are back.

Blogger Diane said ... (4:22 PM) :

Blogger pink horrorshow said ... (5:08 PM) :

I think I might be one of the few that were not at all impressed by the Acne Atacoma wedges.

Love the neutral colors of the coat and scarf though.

Blogger Rob Boddice said ... (5:10 PM) :

You have captured a delicacy here which is really quite touching. She looks forlorn, lost even (her clothes, which fit but look too big, exacerbate the effect); her left hand about to reach out and beg for help. Thus considered, the 'NYPD' to which she points is rather apt.

Blogger X said ... (5:26 PM) :

I agree that looking good in cold weather is difficult but she looks great. Love the lighting.

Anonymous princess glee said ... (6:52 PM) :

Ooooooh I want a cold day to dress like her. Look out NY, next year I'm there. This pic is saved to my computer and my brain in preparation. The temp today is 77 degrees farinheit in LA.

Blogger Emily said ... (6:58 PM) :

so adorable!

xx

Blogger Scram said ... (7:06 PM) :

cosy cute, nice short gloves, whole outfits tapers nicely

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:06 PM) :

I adore the way she tied her coat closed. usually there is nothing more unflattering than a tied at the waist thick coat, it almost puts me in mind of wearing a bathrobe. However, she managed to make it look crisp instead of sloppy, and the nonchalant little loop of the tie pulls the whole thing in a more slimming direction. Simply marvelous!

Blogger anastasia said ... (7:10 PM) :

i really love her coat; the tulip bottom, the chunky grey fabric, the cowl neckline. i would be extremely happy to find out who makes it.

Blogger Melissa~ said ... (7:20 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:47 PM) :

as bundled up as everyone is around her and considering how deeply her face is buried in that scarf, those must be magic tights. perhaps she's got an electric heater under that coat.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:51 PM) :

Believe it or not I believe the coat is H&M and currently 50% off!

It also comes in a great brown/grey/cream color combo as well.

Blogger sarah van raden said ... (7:55 PM) :

Blogger Nicha said ... (8:11 PM) :

I love that somehow this look is un-conventional. Even though the Acne Wedges have gotten overexposed, which in result makes it tiring to see repeatedly, this outfit doesn't bug me...if anything, I like it quite a lot!

Blogger What Would a Nerd Wear said ... (8:13 PM) :

Blogger laura said ... (9:22 PM) :

i spy atacoma wedges. i don't care how over exposed they are, i would sell my soul for a pair any day.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:36 PM) :

I like how the color and texture of her coat play off of the steel she's standing on and the buildings in the background. Plus, she's hot and so are her shoes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:02 PM) :

Looks like an old Ben Zuckerman coat from the late 50s.

Anonymous Cecylia said ... (10:03 PM) :

ENFIN! Sorry, Sart. Finally a woman who has classic, yet up-to-date style. It's been too long! With the exception of Chapel St., Melbourne, this lady has by far the most natural style! Love EVERYTHING! :):)

As well, she looks very French :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:57 AM) :

I love the look but I can,t take the shoes. They're just a bit too clunky for me. This pic is really conveying a cold snap, how did you get her to stand still when it's so cold?

Blogger Vitrinen said ... (1:12 AM) :

I think the Atacomas -from Acne are way overhyped. They are not that beutiful. Will you regret liking them in a few years like some of us likes buffalo´s and regretted it? I don´t know, but in my opinion they are not anything woth the hype.

Otherwise she looks great!

Blogger Stephen Pham said ... (1:48 AM) :

Am I the only person who feels like she doesn't need to see the Acne Atacomas again? I don't mind the shoes per se but they've been featured on pretty much every single fashion blog out there, am feeling a bit tired of them.
Anyway, she looks great, very comfy yet stylish.

I'm still not convinced about these Acne wedges but this is the best outfit combination I've seen them with - I love clunky, clumpy boots but these with the wedge just don't do it for me. She looks lovely wrapped up.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:49 AM) :

i love that look! she look so cosy in that big sweater! anybody know where the sweater is baught? :)

Blogger lenore said ... (10:49 AM) :

For me, it's the way she knotted her belt. It's like dressing in kimono -- your knots reveal a lot of who you are.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:04 AM) :

What a wonderful, softly beautiful outfit. As well, it would be lovely if people stopped assuming that they are the first to comment. It's so odd (and annoying) seeing someone write "FIRST COMMENT!!!" 50 comments down the list. Just a suggestion.

lovely grays and she sure has dressed well for the cold weather but i do wonder how people wear such high shoes and walk around NYC especially in the slushy cold...i struggled during Autumn when we were over there visiting - i had to resort to buying ugly sneakers as my feet were suffering badly ...(maybe the locals only catch cabs??) its a gorgeous photo though - i love how you captured it ...I can feel everyone moving away slowly to reveal her ....

This is the kind of photo, like so many on here, that makes me want to know about the person. Who she is, where she's going this day. They say pictures speak louder than words, but they sure only are the tip of the ice berg. My magic wish would be that we could click on each photo and get a bio of the person. But I guess the fact the fact that we can't is part of what maes this site so addictive and mesmerizing.

I have a similar jacket in olive from Mariella Burani, and can highly recommend this walk-friendly length for winter. Surprisingly it does keep me warm and I don't need an electric heater or thermal knicks under it.

A perfect photograph, the sidewalk, the parking enforcement vehicle, the bustling street and the GIRL with matching scarf and long sleeve.

The shoes are a pair of Acne, a swedish brand. Check out their website!

This looks like a picture by Philip-Lorca diCorcia. Fantastic lighting and aperture. The scene with the passing guy in black (unfortunately, he looks at the camera's direction). Stunning. Sart, I want prints of some of your photos.
