I like the simplicity present in this look and the casual rolled jeans.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:44 PM) :

i'm sure i'm being heretical in todays fashion environment, but jeans simply do not go with a sport jacket. no way, no how.

Formal enough and with a personal touch, especially the socks and the pin.

Blogger Unknown said ... (5:16 PM) :

I just adore a prominent nose and a high hairline. Plus the dimples! The clothes don't detract from the overwhelming boyish charm-add to it a bit in fact.

Anonymous Robin said ... (5:20 PM) :

"Tough" love! I love everything about him. The shoes! The pocket square. The fit of the beautiful gray jacket. The dimples.

Where can i find a tie like that!!! That is such a nice one! Nicholas Sarkozy wears ties in that colour too, it's like matte black or very deep dark blue. Great photo!

great jacket.

I love a man in stripey socks :)

Blogger green lantern said ... (7:25 PM) :

This really struck a cord with me. I like the Fashion forward Trad mix going on with this guy. Jeans and solid shoes topped by a modern cut jacket, shirt, tie combo. Thin multi stripe socks instead of argyles keeps a slight edge.

Anonymous Ladybird said ... (7:32 PM) :

Jeans and a pocket kerchief are an unusual combination, but he is such a confident fellow he carries it off. Love the stripey socks!

Blazer!!!

Blogger notanymore said ... (8:55 PM) :

Outfit, get ye in mah closet! This is precisely the kind of look I go for when I am allowed to wear jeans. A weekend look, no doubt.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:15 PM) :

Oh, this is so delicious!

Want me some of that, for sure..

As a young woman I love seeing a man whose clothing choices reflect a sense of respect for one's self, a feeling of comfort, and masculinity without egotism. I also enjoy those respective qualities in a woman (insert feminine, though).

In a world where gender, sexuality, and identity know longer have the cut-and-dry boundaries of Old, I recognize my desire for gender-specific qualities may be outdated. But, I can't help but feel that way! It's biology! Just as some adore the gender-bending (which I can totally respect), I also adore a manly man.
To conclude my ideas on this photo: Yum.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:20 PM) :

Magnifique from the Blazer to the simplistic choice of socks.

Superbe my dear Sartorialist.

Anonymous papaye said ... (9:28 PM) :

Blogger Jadore-Fashion said ... (10:33 PM) :

Anonymous princess glee said ... (10:39 PM) :

Very well done. I don't know where to start complimenting him since I like everything here. I would probably adjust his pocket square a bit. Not because it needs it but because I want to touch something of his.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:49 PM) :

WOW.
Epic.

Loves.

Blogger char said ... (11:04 PM) :

was wondering if anyone knows of the make of his porfolio case...tres chic!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:07 PM) :

Snazzy indeed but everyone seems to be missing the pink faced phone (blackberry maybe) he`s holding that makes this shot sooo wondeful and sophisticated

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:43 PM) :

It is so rare these days to see someone that is stylish, fashionable AND distinctly masculine. This is that someone, great capture.

Those who say/think that a jacket (sport jacket, as it is described in the US )and jeans is a big NO, are absolutely wrong. Perhaps is because their lack of imagination in dressing limits their eyes.
As per the look being " affected", that it to go even further.
The man looks sophisticated in the most elegant of ways. No pretension, yet lots of creativity. Absolutely chic.

He is wearing the clothes and the clothes not wearing him. He looks absolutely comfortable with his style. It's basic and yet stylish. That's how it should be. He's a man with a great taste and a beautiful eye for details. The socks are superb. I wish, men would wear more colorful/striped/dotted socks, even with a formal outfit. It's always a great stylish detail (the italians and brits know what I'm talking about). Great outfit. Thanks for the photo.

Anonymous Sinclair said ... (3:06 PM) :

The SOCKS (and perhaps the button on the lapel) are what set this apart! Details...
Otherwise a relatively standard, yet classic and appropriate look.
Oh, the relaxed top button gives it a confident/masculine edge...

Anonymous Fashion As a 2nd Language said ... (5:35 PM) :

It's a sad commentary on the relative dearth of well-dressed men that a shot this ordinary garners so much praise. Yes, he looks fine, but that's all. I like his face and manner (i.e., the man himself) better than anything he's wearing. And I'm mystified by all the rave reviews.

I really love the fact that the ruggedness of his face and hair do not take away from his outfit. They compliment each other so well.

like the sox, but agree with those who are critical of jacket with jeans. it's just not on. i live in L.A., everybody does it so its not even edgy anymore and its certainly never been stylish.

His jacket is a sportcoat, or just a jacket; it's not a blazer. A blazer is a blue jacket with brass buttons. In fact, it's the only men's jacket that takes brass buttons. Anything which is not blue and has buttons which are not brass is not a blazer; it's a sportcoat. The one exception is the blazer given to golfers who win the Masters', which is green, and its older cousin, the dark green blazer worn by alumni of Dartmouth College.

love. I especially love the little accents here and there, red button, yellow on the black binder, great socks. He takes something ordinary and puts a little flair to make you look twice. Goes great with his curly hair. Love.
