Comments on "On the Street...Mr. Hackett, Pitti Uomo"

Lose the watch and this could be a shot from the movie "Remains of the Day". I was never a big fan of this type of suit. The fabric seems clunky and the cut just makes it worse.
Nice photo though Scott.
There's nothing quite like the subtle visual interest of grey flannel and its mottled shades.

Fabulous double breasted suite – the man James Bond aspires to be!
Lovely. Classy, timeless. I love the simple light blue/grey/black color combination. I like the watch-it adds a bit of industrial/modern style. And not that I support smoking or anything but the cigar definitely adds something.
omg, the jacket is gorgeous!
Double-breasted, double cuff buttons; double the suave.
nice buttons! this guy's a badass and he knows it.
I love his blazer!
Timeless, elegant, sophisticated and classic effortless style--minus the cigar ;)
love his look! so elegant

i agree with Ann, its wonderfull!
and he's soooo elegant...
everything is spot on
so finished yet so natural
the watch. i love it!
and the look on his face, so mysterious.
Four interesting bottons, so cool the picture
His hair looks very effortlessly sleek!
NICE WATCH:D
Lovely. I am not too sure he is wearing Hackett though
a genius of elegance
what a great suit! lovely. adore the watch too.
classic.
spent the morning hours re-reading The Sartoialist book ... so much to love!
haha that dude screams 'big deal' with that heavyweight DB suit. i like the sport watch and the 2/2 split button detail on the sleeve. pretty sweet.
You can never go wrong with gray flannel.
That grey flannel looks very warm and cozy!
i would kill for that blazer..
so beautiful!! thank you!!
his watch is fantastic.
The spacing on his cuff buttons is an amazing detail.
Great blazer...and awesome pvd chronograph!
The fabric looks utterly divine.
http://izzenxoxo.blogspot.com/
Please Mr Hackett, mind those shoulders..
And the oversized watch is a bit..dated?
He looks like he has money. I'll marry him.
http://oversizedanonymous.blogspot.com
I love how the watch looks almost anachronistic.
flannel is beautiful. somehow the watch makes it here, anyone know what it is?
I love the spacing of the cuff buttons. How cool is that!
very elegegant
captures the unique elegance and style of Pitti @ Firenze, fabulous:)
He oozes style. What a timeless look.
finally on Sartorialist! My favorite style. Respect to Jeremy Hackett and his beautiful style!
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
ACCORDING TO ME THIS IS A VERY VINTAGE SUIT ( BECAUSE OF THE COLLAR ....)
AND AS ALWAYS ...SUPER FRAME !
HAVE A MAGICAL NEW WEEK !
=========================================================
The essence of Elegance!
He looks like my grandfather ;)
Jeremy Hackett is always TIP TOP.. Old School style for todays man.
Well done my son!!
J'adore.
L'élégance même.
classico ed elegante...un must senza tempo!

I think it is an IWC Double Chronograph perhaps the "TOP GUN" - Edition...And sorry, it´s a little bit expensive, about 10,000$...
And sure, i want one too!!!!!
OH!Sir. Jeremy ! He´s always perfect. He´s a "fifty-fifty" man :
half English, half Italian man.I prefer his English part, so natural!
Lovely and warm grey flannel in this shot at the daylight !
engulfed in grey flannel...doesn't really work
I love the button hole spacing !
By the way it was great meeting you at the Pitti( I took your picture ), unfortunately I wasnt there long enough for the booksigning. Still waiting for you to come to the Netherlands..
now THAT is a well-dressed man.
i like this guy a lot! VERY nice double breasted suit. and the watch complements in a very subtle way. it makes everything look new and up-to-date in a way!
i would love to know what kind of tie wore and what shoes.
PLEASE POST MORE OF PITTI UOMO!!!!!!
love the watch!
Nice fabric, but just too much of it for my tastes -- wide lapels, big pocket flaps, double-breasted, and then a very generous cut to boot.
Should at least have a pocket square.
The spacing of the cuff buttons is cool, but I imagine it is a flourish that doesn't stand up to a second or third wearing.
cool :)
Suit's great. Looks very expensive, which makes it even greater. Don't like the watch though.
so handsome... love the watch and the cigar.
http://diyainherstilettos.blogspot.com/
I think the watch is an IWC Top Gun. Interesting button layout on the sleeves.
:P to the watch!
The watch is an IWC Pilot Chronograph. One of the classiest watches ever made. Not stupidly expensive (around $6K) but IWC are known for conservative manufacture and styling and it will still be telling the time beautifully and accurately a century from now and long, long, long after the suit is outdated.
Great hair. Classic look.
i would have perhaps placed a larger button on this suit ... like a brushed silver or gunmetal grey shank button... the buttons pale compared to the mans class (and watch)
interesting fabric choice!
what a fine man. i love the elite feel of his clothes. must be very expensive, examining from the textures and the beautiful color.
great photography, Scott!

Yes it is an IWC Top Gun. A Portuguese Chrono would be more appropriate, and half the price.
Wow, he is so chic and stylish and I think he knows it too. Great shot of him. xoxo

thumbs down on the giant watch, hate this trend.
Are you in Milano right now? Do you have a book signing there?
The PERFECT suit. There's nothing more to say.
--PLO
Gorgeous!....and he knows it.
The watch is a mood-ruiner, best suited for a 23-yo just gaining access to a trust fund, or the insecure. Mr. Hackett is neither. Perhaps he a has a financial stake in the series?
While everything about this is perfect. The cigar and the watch simply make the photo.
Thank you!

The man in the impeccable gray flannel suit, looking all mean and scarey and sexy.
Not many men could pull this suit off the way this gentleman does!
like a movie.
www.whatdialike.com
amazing suit. just wish i could see the shoes and the cuff-line! i bet it's fantastic.
Shame about the watch.
the fabric is too heavy for my taste and does not really compliment his shape. i like the overall look
that looks like a Hackett suit to me...they use that sleeve button design a lot...
Good suit but maybe too heavy for him. The cigar and the watch are not the perfect signs for a good taste...
It is indeed a shame about the watch. However, it does bring character to the look. But I still think that a more subtle choice would have been better. Otherwise it's a lovely photo and the suit is perfectly worn :)
Hey! this is the same guy who was wearing the mix of military and business a few months ago!
Its so great to see this guy again, and I like that he consistently goes for the dashing james bond look.
....SIMPLE = PERFECT.
diego
Scott, I'm seeing these pics with new perspective after reading the notes in your book (that I got and devoured this weekend :)) Any plans for releasing a Part 2!?
Dapper suit, just a pity it screams "Hackett" and "co-sponsoring deal" a bit too loudly: The tacky 2-2 button pattern is now to be found on many RTW Hackett suits and is simply unnecessary in such a well-cut and pretty obviously up-market suit. IWC has been providing watches for the recent Hackett catalogues. All a tad too corporate for someone who spares no effort to exude the Sloane Range attitude. Nevertheless, the suit as such is a beauty. Watch is probably considered by many a nice modern touch, breaking the seriousness of the classic suit but I would prefer a more restrained "city" wtch, maybe a Reverso? Oh, no, wrong corporate partner...
so cool....
a tinge of robert de niro about him
Either he is too heavy for the suit or the suit is too bulky for him. The front buttons look out of proportion. The 2&2 on the sleeve screams off the hook Hackett.
The watch needs to go, perhaps a sleeker in town watch in silver or platinum. Sorry, this ensemble is just not working for me.
The grey flannel is an eternity of elegance and perfect style for the Pitti
Really love this suit really superb
The fabrics is a bit heavy, but for his age is perfect
Elegant man.
He looks fantastic, the suit, the look in his eyes, the nonchalant pose - an ad for elegance and sophistication!
Jeremy is wearing a Hackett Bespoke Tailored Double Breasted Suit in Charcoal
i bit show off isn´t it?
that way of showing the watch....ummm!!...that´s not real elegance..it has to be more subtle, nice try though...
This return of double breasted suits is 1. too predictable 2. too redolent of the 80s way too soon.
Try to come up with something original, Mr Hackett.
Handsome classic style. Wonder what kind of shoes he was wearing...
In Italy is quite common sporting big watches (Audemars Piguet, Rolex, Officine Panerai etc.) with a fine suit. The trend seems to be towards chunkier watches e.g. U-boots

"The fabric seems clunky and the cut just makes it worse."
.....Are you serious?....it's January in Milan....a heavy flannel is the perfect fabric for this environment....not surprisingly given who he is the suit is cut perfectly and has a nice personal touch (the buttons).....the cigar adds a raffish look....agree about the watch comments...it's way too heavy and clunky for this type of suit.
More PITTI UOMO PICS!!!!!!
He looks like a chic RAF officer. The cigar and the watch balance the beef of the DB tweed. I hope I look a tenth as good at his age.
Classic. This dude could be out of The Maltese Falcon. Great style never changes.
Fantastic, but needs two tweaks: a more refined watch and a little bit of cuff showing. Otherwise, extraordinary.
FANTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASTIC SUIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A DREAM!
Where i get that ?
He reminds me of Mr Big
scorpiondisco.blogspot.com
that suit is perfect. so is the hair. good grief that suit is so perfectly cut...and the fabric, sheesh.
http:/www.lucasjonesart.blogspot.com
I'd have to say that the dark, small buttons make for a great compliment to the dark fabric, but the suite just seems a bit to leisurely cut towards the hips. I would also have to say that the watch really doesn't work here, since it diverts from the subtleness of the buttons and presumably the tie.
loving the double buttons!
www.ForeverAshbury.com
I think that suit is vintage. All the better. It is the very best. This is why.
That watch is horrific, but the suit is marvelous.
Nice watch to!
everything but the WATCH!!!!
Bond.... James Bond.
The "drape cut" as it's supposed to be. Very nice and the cut fits him very well.
it takes quite an amazing man to make smoking a cigar look sexy
I love this! A beautiful dichotomy of classic and modern is made with the watch!
Suit: classy.
Watch,cigar: vulgar.
IWC top gun!!! love that watch. looks even better on a tan strap :-)
best,
farhad

I don't know about the watch, it seems a bit like he borrowed it from someone... it's too flashy with this outfit, even if it makes it 'less boring'. Too bad we can't see the tie.
classic sartorialist fabulosity
I want that suit!
Would have liked to see a classic gold watch though. He'd look great with a brown leather breifcase too.
The spacing on this man's buttons is typically associated with the Coldstream Guards, the second most senior of Her Majesty's five regiments of foot, forming the Brigade of Guards.
You are so chic! But besides you seem to be such a nice person inside....just a feeling....
Love the watch, IWC Top Gund edition
I'm surprised to see the massive sports watch with the suit... not sure why some like this look. Personally, I think a Cartier tank or something would look much better.
The angle of his shoulders not being squared makes his torso seem terrifically wide at the waist when compared to visual shoulder breadth.
I think the watch is to garish, he would look better with a smaller more elegant watch. Although I'm probably just a little jealous i don't have an IWC xx
Lose the watch and he could star in a British-made film from the 1940s. He's rocking it.
Now this is a beautifully put together man! Id love to see his shoes and socks! Jack
mm very classy. the wave in his hair adds a good finish haha
i agree w/ a comment somewhere above- i think he could've done better w/ a more simplistic silver watch. but i feel the one he has on rite now adds a hint of his gadgety personality? =]
mm classy style. i think the hair gives the perfect finishing touch to this look! though, i think it would've been better if he chose like a silver more simplistic watch... but the fact that its iwc top gun is a statement in an of itself. i like it nonetheless, because it shows a hint of his gadgety personality =]
Really elegant suit and great color.
Buenisimo!
Classy. I love a double breasted suit.
There's no such thing as a chic RAF Officer.

.......I suggest you take a look at some pics of Sir Max Aitken (son of Lord Beaverbrook) in 1940
i think his look says it all. he doesn't give a F&*# what we think
confident. that's what he is.
Wrong size (to big for the shoulder) for the jacket and and the IWC IWC Flieger Doppelchronograph is to big if you are not fat
Dynamo
Ah! A pure gentleman-the texture of the jacket is fantastic and a modern watch brings a modern twist.
fantastic...Color..
suit...and...
IWC TOPGUN Double chronos...
Extremely handsome.
Jeremy Cushing
I'm pretty sure that's an IWC Pilot's Watch Double Chronograph Edition TOP GUN inspired piece around his wrist. That alone makes this dude a classy guy.
-jcdgonz
This guy looks like the guys used to look in GQ when I was a teen, years ago.
I still want to look like this.
I love the watch.
