Comments on "The Sartorialist in Australia"
Oh I can't wait!!
Must go and buy your book in time!
OMG this is wonderful.
I'm in Perth-WA, but wish you all the best, and loooking forward your great pics and comments.
The Melbourne event is actually at Sass & Bide Melbourne GPO, Bourke St (NOT Chapel St).
There are more than two cities in Australia, Brisbane? Adelaide? Perth? No?
may even venture to the south side to see you. :)
Terrific photos and then you end it with coned pencil stork heels.
The sartorialist does wild heels, such fun, and then fills in spaces with pigeon toed models and even super editors.
This has been going on for years now. What is the deal, neo chinese bound feet?
I'd like to see Sart walk around on extremely high heels for a week.
Welcome back - have a great time!
Come to New Zealand please!!!
this girl is incredibly hot. and i love the black high heels on the white road.
Enjoy Australia.

Yay! Glad to hear you are coming back to Sydders! I'll be there Tuesday for sure. I loved your book, and will love it even more with your signature on it!
Ok, so this time in Melbourne, visit Brunswick street Fitzroy, the central business district around flinders lane and degraves street, between Elizabeth and Swanston Street.
Also, Melbourne University Campus and Victorian College of the Arts (St Kilda road).
I'm in love...
stunning pictures...
I LOVE KOALAS!!!! AHHHHH

That picture of you in the airport is so dynamic.
I don't suppose you will be heading to the sunshine state while you're here?
Yesss :) Trés excitee.
Geez Scott-- could you be any more cliché with the Sydney Opera House, the koala, the surfers and beachbunny (on Bondi Beach I assume...?), but the last image of the platform heels is SUPREME-- it's superb in its almost surreal composition: I know it's two pairs of legs crossing the street, but it also looks like one pair of legs is pushing the other pair forward! So so so deserving to be a standalone pic! Love!
--PLO
Dear zucotto: It's a blog about highly stylish and highly fashionable individuals-- what kind of images did you expect???
--PLO
Australia's Sun loves your Camera lenses :)
or otherwise .
my Mum is getting me your book for Christmas and I am so so so so excited, signed or not.
Please come to Brisbane - please, please, please!

http://underfundedheiress.blogspot.com/
excited to hear you're coming to australia again, although a little bummed out you won't be making it to brisbane!
can you make the photos bigger? i tried clicking on them but they stay the same size...i really want to make the surfer my desktop.
btw, the heels picture look like some sort of weird four legged animal haha.
Yay so exciting! Make sure you visit Avalon and Palm Beach in Sydney if you have time. It's beautiful! Will see you in paddington
xxx
That fourth shot is absolutely incredible!!! Oh, am so upset you are so close, yet I miss you once again. Ah well! Hope you enjoy our fair country! :)
xx

La foto del rompimiento de olas es preciosa.
Besos!
amazing pictures!
Autralia...this beatiful place on the world....I want to go again...enjoy it !!!
what a gorgeous shot of the opera house. perfectly captures the strength of the light. the sky really is that blue!
Those coned pencil stork heels:"Whacko the CHOOK," as we Aussies say!
Welcome back, Zuccotto.
Scott, I would gladly line up at Paddington on the 8th however I just got a haircut with which I'm not too happy hence I won't show up for fear of frightening the horses. And in any case, 2-4 hours of lining up surrounded by screaming teens, little darlings and hipsters all going: "OMG!" would cause me to walk with purpose in front of a bus.
Pietro
That's great, but please don't call us Down Under, it's so 1982.
Great pics, but... Is that Scott listening on white iPod headphones?? ewwww
Beautiful photographs!
I love the girl in that bikini bottom and tank...sexy!

Great Pictures. Gives me that typical Australi feeling, down here in the cold winter :)
Please do come to the Gold Coast or Brisbane.
That's just like I imagine Australia to be like!

No Brisbane :(
Ahh Australia <3 <3 Looking forward to seeing your photographs! =)
noooooo!!! u visit melbourne just after i leave :(
I for one am a Melburnian who never tires of seeing the Opera House (and photographing it another hundred times) when ever I visit Sydney. So dynamic. Rather than seeing it as cliche, I look at it is the ultimate Australian expression of daring, progressive design - our own fashion triumph.
Hopefully Mr. Sartorialist will find similar inspiration on location down South, perhaps against the angles and patterns of Federation Square.
amazing!love to go there :)))
www.therichhomeless.blogspot.com
I agree, Brisbane needs you!
Love your shots - makes me pine for my home town of Bondi. Thought I would share with you this amazing 'makeunder' by the uber-talented Aussie stylist Romy Frydman :) http://tinyurl.com/ykty45x
Does anyone know where that tidal pool/lido is? It's tremendous image and makes me long to be right there in the water....
Exciting! Cannot wait to see what you produce!
This is why i want to go back to Sydney to study:)
Looooove Australia..

The koala, the Opera House, they are inspired pictures and I find in them a new way to see our icons. I am so excited! Welcome! Next week looks like a scorcher.
Brisbane is worth your time - please visit next time you are in Australia!
Recognising Manly Beach !
Miss that place !
Selkie, the tidal pool area looks like a place on coastal NSW, around the Bondi-ish area that I've been too. I agree-come to Queensland! Brisbane or the Gold Coast, I don't care which!
Ah, this makes me miss home, the summer sun and flirty little dresses over salty bikinis. Enjoy it!
koalas are sublime....if you Australians don't look after them the rest of the world will never forgive you....
Ay qué koala más guapooooooo!.
Me encanta la montura de tus gafas.
Cute koala.Nice glasses
Sart I am a sydneysider and this is the most beautiful shot of the opera house ive seen in a loooong time!

I think the pool is really awesome, I just want to jump into those waves!

did you get to hug a koala?
so cute!
Sir Scott, those glasses look terrific on you. Can you identify them?
i'm going to live in sydney starting in january. never been to australia before and your pics make me wanna be there already! :)
Scott Schuman you are a BAMF!
I can't wait! These photos are terrific!
What a great coincidence it would be if you ended up shooting people that I know in Sydney. Can't wait to see your shots.
Selkie, the pool is the ocean pool at Bondi, taken from the Icebergs' Club building. The Icebergs swim every day of the year and on the first day of winter, they throw very large blockss of ice into the pool before leaping in.
Don't forget to pack your swimming shorts, it's been hella hot down here!
the sky in the first photo is absolutely gorgeous. i'm getting your book for christmas for sure!
http://thestylespotter.blogspot.com/
Please come to New Zealand! We are just a bit further away I know....but we would love to see you!
holy moly these are great shots, especially the pool one. no, the other pool one.
Im an Aussie living in the UK at the moment, those pics almost brought a tear to my eye. Beautiful! Check out Crown Street Surry Hills/ Victoria Street Darlinghurst [@ night] in Sydney. Brunswick & Gertrude St Fitzroy, Little Collins Street...You wont be disappointed especially Gertrude St. Have a great time in OZ!!
What kind of spectacles are you sporting in 2nd pic?
Scott - you should defn try to get to King st, Newtown for some unique people...you wont be sorry, its such an awesome part of Sydney! you'll find plenty of FAB people to take pics of!
I have been waiting and waiting for you to come to Sydney, and I am going to be in Shanghai next week! Arrraahhhh!!!
That Koala bear is so adorable.
Shame you won't be visiting more cities - have a great time here! :)
www.friendinfashion.blogspot.com
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!! =D
can't wait to meet you in Sydney!!!
oh, and AnastasiaC is right...King St,Newtown is full of interesting people and wonderful fashion...Paddington yeah, but King St has it's own vibe that nowhere else has...so definitely check iy out if you can... :)
I need a sun! Great composition of the photos - with hot suprise in the middle. I see in it a love story about mermaid, ocean, and surfer :) Am I right?
absolutely stunning! it's always cool to see you in your pictures, and that babe in the bikini, wowza :) my favourite is the last one!! your book is rad

Can't wait to have you in Melbourne. I'll be in line waiting to have my book signed...
I think you'll find Melbourne's GPO itself is a great place to spot style (like this http://tinyurl.com/ldfrwj) Sometimes I just sit at the choc shop there and am amazed at what people choose to wear while shopping or just skipping through on their way to work!
Can't wait for you to come back to Melbourne!!
damn, you should have come to perth!
that koala bear is adorable!
great shot scott! i love all of them.
BRISBANE! Please?
More of the bikini-clad young lady, please! Stunning.
Oh no! Your book signing is on at the exact same time as drinks with Kym Ellery at The Corner Shop! What to do?????!
GPO! Awesome, I don't need to leave the north side :p Changing attendance to definite.
If a girl looks that beautiful with pool water dripping arbitrarily from her hair and tank top, we can only imagine how she would appear dressed up.
Your forgetting the richest city; Perth. We do exist. Melbourne and Sydney are not the only places in Australia.
I WILL be there in Sydney. cant wait- must buy your book in time!
please come to brisbane, it would be wonderful!!!
What a wonderful sky!
o my! heaven. that woman!
and scott! ur so chic! mild envy ensues...
http://www.lucasjonesart.blogspot.com
These pictures are especially beautiful! Great!
Can't wait bringing my book and look forward to it!
Please come to Brisbane!! We'd show you a good time :)
Hello, nice to hear you're coming back, and I hope you find more to tickle your lens in Melbourne than you did last time. May I recommend that you ditch yawnsome Chapel St, which is SO twenty years ago, and take a snoop around the State Library environs (heaps of uni students and very groovy Asian-inspired looks); Flinders Lane and Degraves St (art galleries, unique boutiques, cafe crowd); Carlisle St, East St Kilda (vintage, post-punk, po-mo, plus Euro-Jewish flavours); Sydney Rd, Brunswick (big artists' colony jammed up against Middle Eastern community); Gertrude St and Smith St, Fitzroy (indie designers, cyclists, gallerinas, handmade shoes)?
I just want you to have a good time here and not go away BORED!
I am devestated! I'm a sydney-sider and I love your blog and was sooo excited to hear you were coming to Sydney but I wont be in Sydney for your book signing on tuesday! :( any chance you will be back to Sydney anytime soon?
any plans on touring southeast asia in the near future? sooner than later we hope!
Uyy!! I like your picture, you look Hot!! :)
Chantelle and Anonymous, thanks for telling me about the tidal pool. It looks amazing and I really like the sound of the Icebergs Club - we belong to a little club which swims through the winter in the Irish Sea but it looks so much more glamorous and enticing in Oz!
cant wait to have you in Sydney, Scott!
as suspected, there aren't any stylish people in Australia, just stylish Koalas
cute koala!
i'm surrounded by koalas at my work but still swoon whenever i see one.
White iPod earbuds with a black phone?
"The shot of the swimmer in a pool engulfed by a wave is extraordinary. The image says so much, in a clean composition.
I hope you can make it west side one day - I'm sure Perth has style, we just need to prove it to the east coast!
As an Aussie living in Cardiff (sadly a fashion waste land) I am so happy to see such lovely pics of OZ. I hope my peeps don't disappoint. Wish I was there...
neoprene, stilletos and koalas, me likey. come down to india for book signing
The girl is smoking
i know you have her number, scott. - could you share it please.
Fantastic combination of photos! You make me want to jump on a plane to Australia! LOVE the heels and shadows and the surfer ... and, and ...
I just envy you! I absolutly love Australia!!!!! All the best for you signing books there!
the wave crashing into the pool is insanely amazing.
And the last photo of the legs is equally great in its abstraction.
Just went out to get a copy of your book!
Can't wait to get it signed on Thurs! It will be a great Xmas gift to myself! :)
Have been an avid follower for a long time. Awesome pictures...
Wow, this is exactly what I meant by incorporating nature. Sorry for the terribly harsh critique a couple weeks ago. These are powerful and absolutely beautiful! You have now made me want to get on the first plane to Australia.
will you please come to hong kong?
Hey Sart.. Do you know what a narcissist is?
I will try not to but I might have to. Is wagging work for fashion wrong?
Breathtaking scenes!
I just returned from my first visit to Australia a few months back and I was happy to see my memories in your pictures. I recall having brunch at Icebergs (I completely forget which beach it is located on...Bondi?) but I remember simply sitting inside by the window, watching waves pound into the side of the pool. It was a very pleasant location, as I recall, because my companion spotted dolphins in the distance as well. Thank you for taking me back, if only for a moment.
What a great photo of you, Scott! By Garance?
love the pic with the girl!! Excited to see blue-sky pics :)
Hooray! Scott, please do yourself a favour and visit Brunswick St/Gertrude St/Smith St, Fitzroy, instead of Chapel St. MUCH more exciting fashion and crazy characters.
Can't wait for the signing!
Yeah, um. Look, I love your work in the US and Europe, but you seem to be getting Australia really, really wrong. Fixating on semi-pornographic images of an embarrassingly superficial cliché... Koalas? Sydney opera house? (Kinda like relentless pictures of the Eiffel Tower and baguettes) Not exactly the reason why I live here.
I'm also not quite sure why you've so far avoided the good bits of Melbourne (a city of far greater beauty, complexity and depth in design). I'm not sure who told you to go to Chapel street, but that hasn't been where it's at since 1993.
Flinders Lane, Little Collins, Melbourne CBD's hidden laneways; our darkened bars; East Brunswick, North Fitzroy, Northcote, North Carlton... Follow the artists, Scott - there will you find the places that will reward you with lens-candy. The true jewels in Australia's sartorial crown.
Not that terrible sunburned touristy trash!
oh Sart... you're so foxy. Bring on the brooding personality!
i'm so in love with the lustrous body of that girl.
nature at it's incredibly amazing form
See you in Melbourne :D Very excited. I have clearly planned my vacation time and location well.
Oh, I see a few Brisbane requests!
I have been waiting and waiting for you to come to Sydney, and I am going to be in sydney
wow LOVELY photos!

Ella bonita!
Hi, can i know what camera model are u using? :D
did u think to stop in singapore... lovely Mr Sartorialist :)
come to switzerland!! :P
Now we know why Sydney burns. Thanks for the glimpses Scott!
While living there I loved Degraves St (near Flinders Lane), as well as Chapel St. My favorites!
Don't forget St Kilda...
:O Oh noes, I'm going away next week! Looks like I won't be getting a book signed. ;___;
Hope you have fun in Melbourne though!
I recommend going to Degraves St. It's got awesome coffee and a really nice atmosphere. The fashion is pretty damn awesome too. Ha-ha. (So much "awesomeness". xD )
xoxo Nessay.
Whilst in Melbourne check out Gertrude Street in Fitzroy.( Between Brunswick and Smith St) Lots of small independent Australian Designer boutiques, Art Galleries, Vintage stores, Cafes. Very lovely and very quintessential Melbourne. My fav is Since Grey - a gallery/ fashion store.
Come to Sunny Singapore!
Sydney is a "stylish" city.. I saw once a nicely dressed gentleman walking down a street in the Rocks area..It was something like 12 years ago.
Xavier
I was sooo excited when i read this i have/love your book

Scott, I can't wait to see you this Thursday..Have fun in Melbourne.
The girl by the pool - utterly sexy, just incredible!
Scott can you tell me where you got your glasses? I've been looking for a pair just like them for weeks!
I just got the invite from Sass & Bide! I can't wait to get my book signed in Melbourne! Enjoy Australia whilst you're here x
Am I the only one who is surprised that the book signing is going to be at Sass & Bide ....of all places? The antihesis of Sartorialist style.
So glad you are coming to Melbourne. How ever much I would like meet you I can't . I am travelling the Pacifics; which is great but when I heard that you will be in Melbourne and i wont be there was so disappointing. Anyways good luck with your visit. Hope you come again soon!
i'll be at the melbourne signing, very excitingggg!!
http://regionalfashionista.blogspot.com
hope ur having a nice trip, must remember to bring my book to work with me on Thursday, ill be stopping by to get it sighed, thanks :) cant wait
Please please please come to Perth!
Love the pool picture.
Sass & Bide? Really? They should be called "The Emperor's New Clothes". I can only assume that they are paying for some aspect of this venture. If only their design department were as large as their marketing and P.R. departments. I am extremely bored with seeing their images everywhere, swanning, posing, and saying warm fuzzy sound-bites about the environment. (meanwhile driving hideously massive petrol guzzling Range Rovers) O.K., O.K, we all get that you're really famous designers! Now go design some frocks to go with your reputations.
Oh I cant believe I will miss your signing! Love the shoe pic! and the little boy is so cute
Hey Scott! Do you think you'll ever venture up to Brisbane the next time you're in the land down under? I think you'll find the place charming and the weather beautiful. Oh, plus my book is yearning for a signing!
