www.whatdialike.com
love the pop of color with her mustard yellow scarf and bag.
Saying nothing about religions that require thier women to be un-seen - this woman is beautiful. That outfit would be chic and stylish anywhere for any occasion. Grace and Beauty are hers.
Now this is something we haven't seen on the blog before. She's beautiful.
I love the scarf wrapped around the bag looks great.
PEACE
I adore how earth tone colors play off of the black on this and she's so radiant.
Wow, she is really making a statement. This goes against the concept of oppressing women and making them appear unattractive to men. Everything is a highlight to expose her beauty. Even the bag is lifted with a scarf. Good on her
BRAVO! The traditional lines worn with such elegance and -- dare i say -- joy!
Gorgeous! She would definitely brighten a gloomy Melbourne day.
This is a stunning photograph! I particularly like the contrast between traditional (religious) and modernity/urbanism. Beautiful!
such elegant simplicity
the clean shapes
and the smile
radiant! love the mustard color and her grin. she seems completely unfettered, despite so many cultural perceptions about being very covered up.
LOVE this!
Wow. This is so vibrant and the lines...oh my, it's completely wonderful. Such a radiant smile. Fantastic.
awesome! it's great to see Sartorialist feature a cute & fashionable hijabi :)

Lovely colors and fit with a radiant smile. It doesn't get much better than that. The bag and the earrings are just the icing on the cake.
She is so beautiful.
As a long-time Muslim fan of your site, I thank you for this amazing photo. Proof that there are lots of Muslim ladies out there who can seriously rock a headscarf.
Best accessory is her smile...but I love the chunky rings as well. Great to see traditional elements kept fun and current.
I love the scarf wrap around her bag!
http://vivabonton.blogspot.com/
what a beautiful smile!
I love this ... the scarf on her bag, the shoes peeking out, the subtle details on her hands, her beautiful smile. This is why I visit this site.
peace, salaam, shalom
wicked colour combintations, and I especially love how she's tied her scarf around her bag.
and what a smile! gorgeous.
Absolutely lovely. It reminds me of the old adage that there is a huge difference between "fashion" and "style". This young woman definitely has style in spades.
The beauty and diversity of Melbourne.
You've captured our spirit.
Lovely. :)
I love the yellow and brown hues! Her smile is perfection!

Wow. I love how everything coordinates - her headscarf, the scarf on her bag, her bag color...all different shades of the same color set. Lovely.
So wonderful to see this image! Seeing personal style in traditional cultural dress is fascinating.
bravo joli photo
What beautiful colors, and a lovely expression!
The nails are a good touch, too.
The Hermes orange is great, but the best is the hapiness in her face.
beautiful colour combination. so chic.
not only is she beautiful but she really knows how to use color to her advantage.
This is gorgeous! The palette, the textures, the touches of silver...well done!

Lovely. I always love your pictures, but you have given me an extra reason to - great style should be completely culture-blind!
I love her smile and how the scarf coordinates so well witht he bag it is chic-ly knotted around. Nothing is more stylish that a big smile like that.
The colours are so beautiful. & the scarf around the bag!
Everything about this image is vibrant. The woman, the smile, the bag, the shoes, the hijab. Vibrant!
lovely! the smile the color and especially that giant ring! I do wish that I could see more of the shoes.
Beautiful!
I love how well the colors accent the black silhouette.
very beautiful! and she's fully covered!
If only I could get a photo taken in my abaya.. and I'm not even arab!
The richness of these colors is overwhelming. Gorgeous. I absolutely love the scarf tied to the bag idea.
What a wonderful way to dress up a handbag. beautiful.
Political comment of the year!
She is beautiful, her smile, her nailpolish, her shoes, her jewelry!
So fresh
the autumnal shades look so striking against the black. And she has a beautiful smile!
Absolutely stunning!
I love this picture - it strikes me as being very empowering. This lady clearly has style and can mould whatever she wants to look fantastic.
Well done Mr Sartorialist!
how beautiful
Hijabi fashionistas can be so intense. Their accessories are always perfectly thought out. Even the way she wears her scarf is pretty chic. You can see more here examples: http://hijabstyle.blogspot.com/
Thanks for including this woman on your blog, Scott. It's really refreshing.
simple. classic. beautiful!
I love the simple, elegant lines and the effective use of colour--just beautiful!
I love the colors. Rusty oranges. Gorgeous.
www.FashionSnag.com
Fantastic!
Lovely contrast between the two colors, and the genuine smile makes its all the more perfect.
Beautiful. From the golden shoes to the different hues of orange as a contrast to the black.
Wow. Beautiful colors.
Love her scarf wrapped around her bag and the way the few colours work together. Love it that she's another strand in the many-stranded Australian mix. This blog keeps getting better!
Wow. She looks great! But is she complying with the spirit of Islamic mandate? Aren't the earrings and tight sleeves a little too alluring?
Love this. The intensity of the colors, her expression, the earrings, it all works perfectly against the hijab/burqa.
so beautiful! the colors, and the girl, are stunning.
gorgeous. her smile is infectuous, and the blended warmth of the colors in her headscarf, purse, and scarf is beautifully done.
Amazing.....understated folklore!..never seen before

what a beautiful muslim woman. Sart, i've loved your blog but seeing this woman dressed how i do every day just made this blog so much more special. I love your pics and love being represented by one of my own sisters on your page. perfection :)
The best! This is my favourite photo of the last several months.
Its all about to make the best out of it. I was amazed by the girls in Tehran, they where so chic even though they must cover their hair and body!! :)
GORGEOUS

i love her smile, the draping of her headscarf, and the way her scarf wraps around her purse.
subtlety is so sexy.

Beautiful! She looks so happy.
I've seen Zen monks dressed in silk. Religious haute couture is too flashy. The outfit is also extremely smart.
she's so beautiful and stylish. very, very nice.
the way she spiced up her hijab with gorgeous mustard yellow is fantastic
Gorgeous! I love the scarf around the bag!
Does she have a back-pack to match every headscarf and shawl ensemble? What a wardrobe that would be. It certainly is a clever, spirited work-around for the omni-present black tent.
this is a great picture
shes got elements of great style
and its all based around the burka
the color of the head scarf
the scarf wrapped around the purse
the peeping out feet

Love the colors, the scarf tied around the bag, and her big beautiful smile. www.vivaswag.com
Beautiful!
I love how she is stylish while staying within the bounds of what is appropriate for Muslims. Way to show that fashion and beauty are not about showing skin and being "sexy"!
What a breathtaking image! What a breakthrough! You never see this slice of life! Bravo!
beautiful! beautiful! beautiful!
lovely warm colours!
love the colours..and she's beautiful
This is marvelous! I am so glad to see a Muslim woman with headscarf honored as an example of fashion savvy.
I feel your recent efforts in Australia have failed to capture our definition of summer style. Colour, nonchalance, humour, quiet confidence. Perhaps you didn't have the opportunity to venture out of the city. I would have liked to have seen images from beach side suburbs, north and south-east. I'm not referring to this particular image - but in general. If I wasn't living here, I'd have no idea what season it was judging by these pics.
Everything about her is gorgeous.
i LOVE it!
Cute :)
i lovee love LOVE the rich patterns and colors that are in her clothes and accessories. It's refreshing to find such a vibrant hue in a religious garment.
Great smile, beautiful colours, smart use of accessories. I like it.
an understated beautiful elegance.
Love the colors and the smile!!!!!
the color! love it
loved how she matched the colours!
GORGEOUS!!!
Beautiful!!
A joyous smile and a (dare I say trendy?) expression of individuality within the parameters of a restrictive form of dress. This woman is beautiful.
Wow, original + classical = fabulous. Luv this girl
This is lovely; her smile wins me over, and her bag and scarf work wonders!
prety!
She looks very stylish and comfortable. It seems that some people find themselves uncomfortable about/around veiled women; But the ones I know are friendly, interesting and feel comfortable with people focusing more on their hands and faces.
Fabulous colours, wonderful smile. Great shot.
LOVELY SMILE, I love the ring, the nails the bag...ohhhhhhh details!!!!
This image of this beautiful woman makes me proud to be Australian. You've made my morning that much better - thank you.
LOVELY SMILE, I love the ring, the nails the bag...ohhhhhhh details!!!!
This is one of the most beautiful photos I've seen on this site, and I've been following for two years now.
I love when your pictures show the beautiful diversity of the world. To me, this is just as stylish and womanly as the women in the pink dress below.
Props to you!
Please continue to actively pursue representing diverse styles!!!!!!!
Stunning. Thank you for your willingness to recognize style in different forms. LOVE it!
What a great palette! I love the colour of the headscarf, and the big smile on her face :)
She is radiant!
:D
L o v e i t.
gorgeous... love the mustard yellow against the black!!
cool idea with the scarf tied round the bag.
What a beautiful smile she has
Her semblant is the thing that get the most.... Nothing about the clothing.... i would like to see those girls... wearing the same garments... with different shapes... differt fabrics.. and different colors...kinda like neon or fluo... that would be a step forward for them....
That's a great marigold color – especially flanked by the teal and turquoise on either side of her.
What was making her so exuberant?
This look is so perfect in so many ways. I'm enthralled.
beautiful colors
Colorfull.
http://kitsune-tofu.blogspot.com/
Wow! I love this. I live in a part of Melbourne that has a large Muslim population and I'm often intrigued by the way Muslim women manage to express personal style within what looks like severe restrictions. Just gorgeous!
Love the bag with the scarf and the errings!!
a perfect choice, this sartorialista is one of the truly inspiring looks one sees around town
Love it!!!!! So classy!
I love the colors and a truly beautiful woman. Very subtle but leaves a strong image.
This is one of my favorite shots ever! I was not aware of the trends involved with wearing a tudung/head scarf before attending a uni where the majority of female students in my class were Malaysian muslims. It's incredible! I love the spicy color combination and leather bag/tied shawl combo this young lady has put together. Love the silhouette. She's stunning!
beautiful!
Stunning!
you indeed have an eye for the pretty (: the colours in this picture are just sublime.
beautiful!
Such a lovely smile :)
So being a conservative Islamist can come with a style as well...proof!
I'm quite taken by this image, a very pleasant change of tempo to other shots. There is no limit to expression of style. Stunningly stylish & classy lady!
This picture clearly illustrates that when the outfit is simple, a couple of carefully considered accessories can say so much.
I often hear comments from non Muslim women who that suggest that the wearing of a hajib stifles and suppresses the personality and creativity of the wearer, but in my personal experience and as This picture illustrates, that is clearly not the case. Instead I see many young Muslim women in Melbourne wearing the most beautiful accessories, playing with colour and texture and really working with their outfits. Some seriously classy ladies with scarf collections I would die to own!
Beautiful!
Nice colors, and interesting thing happening there with the bag wearing a scarf. But I have to say that I don't like the idea of women being required to dress "modestly."
such creative use of a scarf! (i'm referring to the one on her bag)
oh look, a religiously oppressed woman!
It's wonderful to see a non-Western look here.
Oh gosh, the details! It's all in the details. Such natural grace and style.
beautiful!
positively radiant. a gorgeous spirit, beyond the great choice of colours and accessories
I am enjoying the colour contrast. This woman knows how to accessorize. I love the ring and the bag, nice touch with the scarf too!
The earrings confuse me.
Oh she's lovely - I really like the drape of her head scarf and the way her earrings are featured so elegantly. Very nice.
so incredibly stunning. and the smile is golden too!
it's great to see some diversity. love the colour combination. keep up the great blog.
I like her look a lot..very modern very stylish muslim woman.
Great colour coordination! and great to finally see some diversity on this blog too!
Simply beautiful.
Stunning! So beautiful.
Scott, you've outdone yourself! A truly classic photo. This could very easily become an iconic image for the ages
love the scarf and the smile. so much energy.
Wow! Those colours just sing! And what a smile.
What an elegant young lady. So chic...
Glorious.
love the colour.. the scarf around the bag is a nice touch
I love it! Finally a woman in hijab on your blog!
This is brilliant.
Love the diversity in Melbourne.
I really hope that you were able to head down to places such as Flinders Lane, Centre Way, and just the overall CBD area. Not to mention suburbs like Brunswick.
Great work.
Elegant, gorgeous, stunning
She looks fantastic!! I love the ochre colours - so Aboriginal in colour yet so Islamic in look !!
Love the scarf tied around the bag the splash of colour looks even bolder against the black
love the mustard and black and her smile......
lots of funky but modest young islamic women in Australia, glad you noticed (not me though)
Beautiful!
this image is gorgeous...
thank you scott for showcasing a fashion style more exotic and unknown than what people normally envision "fashionable" to be
Don't you just want to know her and know all about her?
she's beautiful t
Beautiful woman indeed. The more I look at her the more I find her interesting. Did she coordinate the colors by purpose?.. U captured wonderfully her vision of style and sense of pride. Thank u once again for the diversity!
S-T-U-N-N-I-N-G!!!
www.thebeautylover.blogspot.com
she's so beautiful! i love her smile - and, of course, the scarf around the purse
Lovely colours, shame the backdrop is so drab.
wow. she is amazing. those colours!
you're getting some great pictures out of melbs :)
Congratulations, one of your best pics ever. An exuberant, elegant woman - all covered up. Goes to show that stylishness is all about personality, proportion and colour, not the amount of skin on show! :-)
Despite most of her body dorned in black, she looks so vibrant! Her smile, her eyes and the warm rich earthy colours of her accessories really pop!
Beautiful!
beautiful..
Beautidul! simplicity yet tastefulness
Really lovely.
beautiful....first covered girl i see on your blog.
