Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:32 AM) :

The jacket gets high marks because the man is A+!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:33 AM) :

That's the best looking leather jacket on the site. So nice.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:44 AM) :

Very quiet ensemble on a quietly attractive young man. Love the whole effect.

Anonymous Manuel said ... (11:53 AM) :

Nothing special at all, boring conservative look. French bourgeoisie in its most right-wing wannabe "bonhomie".

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:53 AM) :

Very basic. Besides good proportions it's nothing inspiring. Bring back inspiration and some aspiration Scott. ;-)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:59 AM) :

Great photo, the sun shines on his ear and fingertips.
Beautiful young man, examplary restraint in demeanor and outfit. Well done, both of you.

Anonymous Emily said ... (12:01 PM) :

Anonymous a.r.p. journal officiel said ... (12:22 PM) :

this look is very A.P.C....a little bit boring (yes) but very understated & stylish. je l'adore.

the proportions are working, everything seems to fit him just right & the jacket is not too slim but not to baggy, just perfect!

btw, the young man has a rough masculine vibe going on...he looks like a much cooler & hotter version of the gardener that comes to trim the hedges of my building every other thursday...

Blogger peter robinson said ... (12:24 PM) :

a man who doesn't dress like a clown and its deemed boring.

Blogger Maria Ana said ... (12:34 PM) :

He looks portuguese, don't know why, but he does...

Anonymous Carole said ... (12:47 PM) :

What A.P.C means? Is it a brand?

Then : I find him cute, and his outfit is simple but great! I hate men overdressed, almost like women!

Anonymous Qui said ... (1:03 PM) :

Blogger 3BestFriends said ... (1:03 PM) :

What a beautiful man

Blogger justinjarboe said ... (1:20 PM) :

I would love to know who makes that jacket

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:30 PM) :

Nothing offensive, nothing special. Slightly dull.

Blogger aris1207 said ... (1:55 PM) :

Amazing how when one is comfortable in their skin/outer layer their inner self shows through. Only if you captured it with your photo of course! He just looks so effortlessly relaxed, especially in the eyes and the nice crisp blue collar is a sure sign winter is on it's way! (Impeccably dressed of course as all winters are!)

Blogger Trevor said ... (1:59 PM) :

Makes me think I need one…

Blogger Allie said ... (2:13 PM) :

This man is beautiful. I'm in love, I'm in love, and I don't care who knows it!

Blogger sblazer227 said ... (2:18 PM) :

Love the outfit..sometimes simplicity beats flash. The whole look looks "soft", i actually want to touch the jacket to see if its as buttery as it looks. Love the fit and the jeans. This is the kinda outfit my dreams man would wear. very nice.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:22 PM) :

I am bored to death.

Blogger Gary K. said ... (2:56 PM) :

Jacket could be a bit more understated--the brown is a bit much.

The sweater could be plainer--too much color going on--and I'd like to see a more generic collar under it.

The jeans should be more generic looking.

Haircut is much too wild. Needs to be cut shorter.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:00 PM) :

Are yall kidding? This outfit is classic and classy, not boring. The fit is perfect on everything, and he looks totally elegant!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:32 PM) :

It's not the jacket. C'est la tête.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:37 PM) :

The face of a thoughtful boxer, the outfit of an old-school grad student. Nice combination. (And those jeans are perfect.)

Anonymous Bob Mack said ... (3:48 PM) :

I want to be this guy.

I love that the bottom of his sweater has a plain edge to it. It doesn’t lump up in the waist like banded sweaters do.

Blogger Unknown said ... (3:52 PM) :

Anonymous Stereoscopic said ... (5:30 PM) :

What's wrong with you guys? The fit, the fit, the fit! Maybe it's not "exciting," but how many of you have clothes that fit so perfectly? What's this, class, no hands? All right then.....

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:15 PM) :

ZZZZZZ

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:02 PM) :

i don't understand the criticisms. some of the most important elements of fashion such as silhouette, fit, and colour coordination are spot on here. i bet if a woman dressed like this exactly, everyone would be all over it because "oooh she's so androgynous, how daring!" subtlety has a place in style too, let's not be snobby about what's "boring" or what's "daring".

Anonymous joe t said ... (8:20 PM) :

timeless,,,, like the raw hem on the sweater,, the jacket flawless!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:43 PM) :

i'm not sure what kind of style this is ... or why a camera click was even wasted.

Blogger Pretty in a Power Suit said ... (8:47 PM) :

Leather jackets are so classic, always bringing to mind the look of James Dean. Though here, brown and layers adds a preppy twist.

Blogger winter's mama said ... (9:30 PM) :

I apologize but this outfit is entirely dull. It may be found on any regular bloke with a baseball cap and a paunch walking around in my tiny, fashion-vacuum town....
are you sure that isn't Squamish, Canada?
p.s. I LOVE your blog.

Blogger Ada said ... (9:49 PM) :

so clean, so simple! the zipper is about the "loudest" thing in this ensemble. I like.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:41 PM) :

He is very good looking. Great style.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:40 AM) :

Sigh much....!

Blogger lolly handgrenade said ... (1:03 AM) :

Sorry, this looks boring to me. Compare it to the photo below of Alessandra Colombo; that's so stylish!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:05 AM) :

Love this. Still stylish but so confident that he doesn't feel the need to make a statement. The perfect man to come home to.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:05 AM) :

Sorry, that's safe and boring. Compare it to the picture of Alessandra Colombo below; individual, stylish and a bit edgy. Now that's a sartorial winner.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:37 AM) :

Exceedingly boring. It's like he tried to make himself as uninteresting as possible, while still being somewhat fashionable.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:36 AM) :

perfect, for me

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:12 AM) :

what's wrong with understated classics? not boring but aesthetically pleasing

Blogger Alexandre A said ... (3:51 AM) :

It is the same cut as the classic harrigton jackets

Blogger m. said ... (7:33 AM) :

perfect fit. :) It's not too short at all! that's sexappeal, guys...

charming.

Anonymous Scoob said ... (7:53 AM) :

For some reason, this looks kind of boring, but maybe because he looks kind of bored himself.

The jacket seems random, so I'd be curious to see what kind of shoes this gentleman is wearing.

Leather jackets need the confidence to go with it...

Blogger Nastassia said ... (7:57 AM) :

It's so 'Gap' looking.

Blogger vintage peony said ... (8:03 AM) :

nice jacket

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:10 AM) :

Jesus Christ. Why such harsh criticism? Dude probably put this on go meet someone for lunch. It's not like he's trying to change the world one pair of jeans at a time.

The hair's nice. You don't necessarily have to be ultra-manicured to look good.

Most likely the jeans are either McQueen or APC. They're casual but you can dress them up a bit, like here.

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:08 AM) :

great hair & great eyebrows!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:18 AM) :

I love the sunshine in his hands and the chynky gold ring on the finger. his face advertises tranquility from within and the classic brown leather jacket, the tidy shirt-sweater-jeans combo is so innocent and handsome. Maybe a superhero in his alterego outfit?

Blogger Marta said ... (9:59 AM) :

Blogger Teresa @ good-grace said ... (10:33 AM) :

such a simple, classic look (*not* dull!) ... and he is certainly a handsome chap.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:36 AM) :

Less is more. Ageless, classic. He is very handsome. The clothes are so simple he looks almost naked. Very sexy.

Anonymous Magsli said ... (10:36 AM) :

I love this, so classic. I don't find it boring in the least. It doesn't hurt that he's absolutely gorgeous.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:17 AM) :

Average Get up!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:11 AM) :

It's a typical preppy look. The jacket seems like it's a shade too small, however. He couldn't zip it up if he had to.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:24 AM) :

I think I just fell in love, and I don't mean the jacket!
Does anyone have his number? ;-)

Blogger Sophisticated Misfit said ... (7:46 AM) :

hahaha I love the array of comments so far.

Let's get one thing clear. The good Lord put us on this earth using unique molds. If I've learned one thing it's that for every man, regardless of how handsome, there will always be women to whom said man is candy unto the eyes. I am no judge of handsome men but by God I'm glad a few find him handsome 'cause then there's hope for an ugly bastard such as I.

Oh, the clothes... I would have worn that lovely jacket with white linen slacks. Pleated. Pale blue shirt, maybe. Rolex. Ruby ring. Cigar. Tan monk straps. The world is my oyster.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:50 AM) :

Such naggativity! Give q well-groomed, no cigarette, no cell phone guy a break, whydoncha?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:36 AM) :

Masculine! Very nice.

Seems that the women like it more than the men. Wonder why that would be? :-)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:25 PM) :

I'm with Bob Mack. This is exactly the type of look I want to/try to have. It's classic and unpretentious. This guy's not showing off. He looks like he does more than think about "expressing himself" all day.

Blogger thwany said ... (12:36 PM) :

i need that jacket!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:08 PM) :

Brown never looked so good!! What a beautiful man.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:47 PM) :

ok so alessandra is amazing but this guy is boring? i agree alessandra looks great but if you look at that second photo of hers below, she is also wearing a light blue dress shirt underneath a blue sweater and jeans. the only style difference is that she's got a big belt on and he's got a brown leather jacket.

but the real difference is that she's a woman and he's a man. and that's why so many people are criticizing him. she dresses like a man and she's applauded for it. he dresses like a man, and he's ridiculed. it's a double standard. do people actually expect him to wear leggings and nail polish?

Blogger dy of ghost said ... (2:36 PM) :

i'm really in to the brown leather jackets lately. i had one in high school that i wish i hadn't gotten rid of!

Blogger AsterMax said ... (2:53 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:33 PM) :

Hot

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:39 PM) :

any idea who makes this coat?

Blogger anthony said ... (5:51 PM) :

The jacket would look really nice if he straightened his lumbar spine and lifted his chest. A six-pack under three layers is of little interest to anyone. The lovely blue of the jersey would also contrast better with the rich chocolate of the jacket.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:12 PM) :

What's wrong with just savoring the hot every once in a while?? He may not be too originally styled, but I don't mind seeing pictures of a beautiful, unselfconsciously turned-out man. Besides, he's an extremely relevant model/aspiration for your average-joe, casual american male looking for an upgrade.

Anonymous FvaD. said ... (1:50 AM) :

Sharp & clean. Love how it seems effortless.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:50 PM) :

I liked his look a lot. He looks confident and this is timelessly CHIC!
It's so good to know that you have eyes for simple people...fashionista people can be boring as well !

Congrats!

Blogger gbelford said ... (12:00 PM) :

I'm pretty sure the jacket is Zilli.

Great look, simple, and to the point.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:58 PM) :

FINALLY!!! A man who looks like a man. No dolman sleeves or bolero jackets. No harem pants. No Thom Browne-esque dimensions.

Just clean, crisp, and classic.

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:15 AM) :

I'm going to argue on the brand of jean. Based on stitching color, I believe these to be NUDIE jeans. I could be wrong though.

Anonymous Tristan said ... (2:41 PM) :

I love it! Simple, yet timeless.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:26 PM) :

Yawn; very department store.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:43 PM) :

I wonder what he sounds like when he talks. Like if is mysterious presence is broken by a bunch of gossipy gabbing, or if he sounds like Anontio Banderez, or... Also, I've had jeans that pulled open at the top, revealing the zipper pull. Either their too small at the waist, or they were made in a small batch and the button isn't centered well. They look like they could be custom for that reason, not to mention the fit. Also the stitching seems somewhat un-machine made.

But overall, compared to the asinine way that many (most) American men dress, I think this sets a very nice (and achievable) example of how to dress, within your comfort zone. And I'll be darned if this man doesn't look nice. I have feeling he could get away without wearing any clothes if he wanted to.
