Comments on "On the Street....Seventh Ave., NYC"
thats a really great sweater and an awesome colour
Now this is what I call dressing for the street!!!
So many great textures and colours here. Is that a velvet collar popping out the top?
Wow...he's...UTTERLY GORGEOUS.
The cardigan ain't bad either.
Love the shoes.
Oh, yes
Amazing cheek bones! great sweater(s). I like
I'm starting to see that these portraits of someone in a strong stance with the highrises to either side of them is becoming a signature of yours!
He looks supreme-- all about the individual and his confident style. He truly stands out amongst all the others around him in black. Beautiful.

This is great, I love the comfy look of the sweater. And why do asian men always look so amazing with long hair??

Ah, well I was about to comment about how great "she" looks, but hey. Androgyny is awesome. I love the velvet blue collar juxtaposed with the sweater and cardigan. The white trousers are an interesting choice: they seem to experiencing something of a revival lately...
That is style! Really love it.
~taryn xx
love his cardigan
I've seen you in Chelsea 2 days in a row, with one daughter, then 2!
me encanta

amazing! so simple, yet incredible!
Love that sweater. The color is fall!

Cheekbones that slice through the streets of New York...
So striking!! Love the textures of the sweater and cardigan!
Oui Oui Oui!!!
The white pants create a great contrast to the browns and blacks of the other people in the shot. The orange/red cardigan against the blue collar with the neutral brown in between is great. Not to mention the classic leather gloves that, even though a bit much, compliment the shoes immensely. Bravo!
I love that she is wearing white jeans in December! Her sweater on sweater looks fantastic too.
The cardigan is perfection! The upper colour palette reminds me of an Agatha Christie novel in only the best possible way ;)
Such cheekbones! Such confidence!
I love the collar. And the orange is bewitching.
All the colors go beautifully together as well as the textures.
Nice work with the textures

i love that some people refer to this person as a "he" and others as a "she." which is it? i can't tell.
I LOVE U MICAL! ;)
Now THIS is amazing! His cardigan is awesome, and it's in such (perfect) contrast with his AMAZING hair!

Nice ensemble. Please polish your shoes.
this man seriously knows how to dress! i love the layering and how he matched them with the white pants: instant laidback yet preppy feel! ;)
xx.

Oh, please... More Italians and less experimenting students on the streets of New York, s'il vous plaît.
Pietro
Great look. The large cardigan is a good alternative to a jacket. The cardigan will work even better with a v-neck sweater over a collared shirt and tie.
Perfect!!! This has got to be in the next day.
10!
wow, what a face. i initially thought he was a girl too.. but now i think its a guy ( i had to stare at one place real hard to figure it out..lols)
where are his shoes from? GORGEOUS.
yes to the cardigan
no to the white pants
theres somwthing about this i like, and recently iv not been excited by the outfits iv seen on pople but this is such a mix of the old and new
he knows what color looks nice on him.
oh asians! they are always so well dressed.
trends come and go, but if you stick to your color then you know you will always look nice.
btw this young gentleman i believe is one of the students at Parsons, the design school.
Like the contrast of the sweater against the blue sky.
now that´s wicked, thanks for sharing!
i love the sweater and the shoes, but everything else misses the mark. its just too uptight ad contrived.
Oh!!That's my style. Love the colors layer. :)
is this a dude? if so, then dress like one..everyone will almost praise anything the sartorialist will take a picture of. C'mon...this isnt anything special. its rather confusing. Sinatra would be throwing up.
Who says you can't wear white after Labor Day!?!?
He knows what he's up to with his outfit...
I love the three buttoned cardigan, the colour and texture, but I don't like the velvet collar. I think it's better if the sweater has a lower neckline.
this cardigan is fantabulous! The barely visible collar adds a powerful, but understated twist to the outfit.
I LIKE!! :)
Not sure I like the white jeans but the rest of his outfit looks good.

the cleanest idea
For Russia it cool)))
for Russia it cool)))
it gives an strong image of herself
it's all about the gloves.
now this is when white jeans come into their own, dark trousers would have made the knits appear too weighty. i love the colours and textures of the knits as well as the touch of teal of the shirt collar. thanks scott
Braziliant + Fantabulous = !
This guy looks cool - Black gloves and steely look make him look like a very cosy Ninja assassin
im loving the colors, the textures, the white jeans...
fall in love with a young kate moss:

Love that guys look!!i want that cardigan!!!
OK my off white jeans are getting a winter run this week... But can I wear them at night? :-)
This is a yawn, man or woman, I don't care. I have a feeling only positive comments get promoted.
The photo is great, but the subject... would it look like anything sited in a parking lot or field without skyscrapers?
i likes this look for the cold season, where you normally see a lot of black, brown and grey- always happy when i see someone in bright colours!this looks comfortable, yet stylish- i like the gloves and those pants have a great fit!
He's really quite cool.
xx
I like the look, there is so much black and dark brown on the streets now that this really catches my eye. He looks great. I find it odd that everyone didn't know right away this is a man.
not interested!
great! :) i always use to associate white jeans to summer and so i don't wear them at all in winter.. but he really pulled them off! if i could achieve this look i would certainly wear white jeans in december more often!
When I thought it was a girl I thought 'she' was dowdy, like a science student. Now I see it is a boy and he looks cool. It's official - women have to work so much harder!
NY is the best place to b.
Love the knits.
Refreshingly cool, you have to give him credit for the white jeans and topped off with the preppy men's knitwear top!
He is amazing! I've seen him a couple of times and think he is oh so fabulous! His hair is too good to be true!
Asians!!!
He is so different from the rest, and the contrast between him and everyone in black just makes this so much better!
Everything is just so dynamic! Bravo!
This is the kind of guy my mom wishes I'd get married to.
http://www.ToucanBoutique.com
Yes, he's a standout. Which is to say, he's wearing today what the kids in my neighborhood were wearing yesterday. Why not visit the kids in your neighborhood, Sart?
I love this look, warm and comfortable. I thought it was a she until I saw some he comments and had a closer look. So good job on the androgyny. Also, I like that the shoes are scuffed.
absolutely love asian men with gorgeous hair like this. i'm not even looking at what he's wearing, haha.
I think it's a denim shirt underneath the sweater. Anyway, the whole look is street smart.
I don't really like the texture upon texture of the sweaters. I also like db coats/sweaters with at least one button of closure. Color is good.
I want that knit top for me!!!!
http://sinmanolos.blogspot.com/
The stance is a major clue to his gender. Compare it the caved-ankle or pigeon toed stance of Alesssandra a few days ago, who belied her (fabulous!)androgynous look with her i'm-just-a-helpless-girl stance.
Don, I agree with you.
awesome bone structure and i love the pants that he is wearing.....im just too clumsy to even think of wearing a white pair of jeans.
my favorit asian!!!
so mid eighties! love the shape and color of the pants with the oxford style shoes. the tiny buttoned up collar peeking out is a fresh touch.

The sweater is wonderful~!

That sweater is exactly what I've been searching for, for ages! Gah.
The colour, and the buttons! love it SO much!

Grace, elegance and style in NYC: good old Sartorialist...

i love the colours..
those asian dudes really know how to dress, thumbs up!

Absolutely right, Joe. It's what makes the comments section of this blog such a bore. I made a perfectly acceptable point about this being a case of trickle up fashion by writing that what I see here today I saw the kids in my neighborhood wearing yesterday, but it apparently did not make the grade. Not quite positive enough, I imagine.
I almost bought a double breasted cardigan this past week...now I regret not getting it. It was even heathered in a similar way, though I preferred the color; it was a very pretty sage green.
I also think its completely unfair that men can look as chic as women in clothes which are infitinetly less uncomfortable (i.e skin tight and sky high. One could argue that a girl looks just as nice in denim and flat shoes, but I think we all know in our heart of hearts that women are most stylish in stilettos and dresses. I'm just bitter.

Parsons student!!!! At least I think soooo...swear I have seen him at school!
+ my only complaint about this look is the buttons! This sweater would look sooo much better with some vintage brass buttons! >>> I tend to be a button snob... srsly! <<< :/
Tres jolie!!!
thanks for this picture. now i can look at him all day.
Michael Liu, we love you!
Hello Michael! You look fabulous here...love melinda
The lighting is crazy good.
Great photos! I'm inspired!
Susan at Charm of the Carolines
Love the sweater-on-sweater look, the fit of the jeans, and the scuffy shoes. And that hair...
I love it, and I think the gloves are actually really important to the whole look, they keep it from delving into a librarian-ish territory. (not that that is necessarily bad)
A great sense for colors in the upper half ….but I wouldn’t have chosen the white trousers
What!!Know him, way to go Micheal! =)
I like the layers of shirts she has on. The blue in the collar contrasts with the orange of the bulky sweater. I personally like bulky sweaters. They are so cozy:))
