Blogger X said ... (5:51 PM) :

So many great textures and colours here. Is that a velvet collar popping out the top?

Anonymous liath said ... (5:52 PM) :

Wow...he's...UTTERLY GORGEOUS.
The cardigan ain't bad either.
Love the shoes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:56 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:03 PM) :

I'm starting to see that these portraits of someone in a strong stance with the highrises to either side of them is becoming a signature of yours!

He looks supreme-- all about the individual and his confident style. He truly stands out amongst all the others around him in black. Beautiful.

Blogger Lorena said ... (6:07 PM) :

This is great, I love the comfy look of the sweater. And why do asian men always look so amazing with long hair??

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:08 PM) :

Ah, well I was about to comment about how great "she" looks, but hey. Androgyny is awesome. I love the velvet blue collar juxtaposed with the sweater and cardigan. The white trousers are an interesting choice: they seem to experiencing something of a revival lately...

Blogger taryn said ... (6:09 PM) :

That is style! Really love it.

So striking!! Love the textures of the sweater and cardigan!

Oui Oui Oui!!!

Anonymous Kevin said ... (6:58 PM) :

The white pants create a great contrast to the browns and blacks of the other people in the shot. The orange/red cardigan against the blue collar with the neutral brown in between is great. Not to mention the classic leather gloves that, even though a bit much, compliment the shoes immensely. Bravo!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:02 PM) :

I love that she is wearing white jeans in December! Her sweater on sweater looks fantastic too.

Anonymous Clare said ... (7:05 PM) :

The cardigan is perfection! The upper colour palette reminds me of an Agatha Christie novel in only the best possible way ;)

Blogger The Bambina said ... (7:07 PM) :

Such cheekbones! Such confidence!
I love the collar. And the orange is bewitching.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:12 PM) :

All the colors go beautifully together as well as the textures.

Blogger CW said ... (9:10 PM) :

Great look. The large cardigan is a good alternative to a jacket. The cardigan will work even better with a v-neck sweater over a collared shirt and tie.

Blogger Thought Forms said ... (9:14 PM) :

Perfect!!! This has got to be in the next day.

10!

oh asians! they are always so well dressed.

trends come and go, but if you stick to your color then you know you will always look nice.

btw this young gentleman i believe is one of the students at Parsons, the design school.

Blogger hi-d said ... (9:55 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:29 PM) :

i love the sweater and the shoes, but everything else misses the mark. its just too uptight ad contrived.

Blogger pang said ... (10:39 PM) :

Oh!!That's my style. Love the colors layer. :)

Anonymous Don said ... (10:58 PM) :

is this a dude? if so, then dress like one..everyone will almost praise anything the sartorialist will take a picture of. C'mon...this isnt anything special. its rather confusing. Sinatra would be throwing up.

Anonymous Astika Suprapto said ... (12:44 AM) :

I love the three buttoned cardigan, the colour and texture, but I don't like the velvet collar. I think it's better if the sweater has a lower neckline.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:01 AM) :

this cardigan is fantabulous! The barely visible collar adds a powerful, but understated twist to the outfit.

I LIKE!! :)

it's all about the gloves.

Anonymous the colour commission said ... (3:19 AM) :

now this is when white jeans come into their own, dark trousers would have made the knits appear too weighty. i love the colours and textures of the knits as well as the touch of teal of the shirt collar. thanks scott

This is a yawn, man or woman, I don't care. I have a feeling only positive comments get promoted.

The photo is great, but the subject... would it look like anything sited in a parking lot or field without skyscrapers?

Anonymous bamto said ... (6:07 AM) :

i likes this look for the cold season, where you normally see a lot of black, brown and grey- always happy when i see someone in bright colours!this looks comfortable, yet stylish- i like the gloves and those pants have a great fit!

Blogger Marta said ... (6:11 AM) :

He's really quite cool.

Blogger Susie said ... (6:18 AM) :

I like the look, there is so much black and dark brown on the streets now that this really catches my eye. He looks great. I find it odd that everyone didn't know right away this is a man.

Blogger vintage peony said ... (6:18 AM) :

Anonymous lim101 said ... (6:43 AM) :

great! :) i always use to associate white jeans to summer and so i don't wear them at all in winter.. but he really pulled them off! if i could achieve this look i would certainly wear white jeans in december more often!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:00 AM) :

When I thought it was a girl I thought 'she' was dowdy, like a science student. Now I see it is a boy and he looks cool. It's official - women have to work so much harder!

Anonymous MensKnitwear said ... (9:52 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:24 AM) :

He is amazing! I've seen him a couple of times and think he is oh so fabulous! His hair is too good to be true!
Asians!!!
He is so different from the rest, and the contrast between him and everyone in black just makes this so much better!
Everything is just so dynamic! Bravo!

Yes, he's a standout. Which is to say, he's wearing today what the kids in my neighborhood were wearing yesterday. Why not visit the kids in your neighborhood, Sart?

Anonymous Maranda said ... (12:32 PM) :

I love this look, warm and comfortable. I thought it was a she until I saw some he comments and had a closer look. So good job on the androgyny. Also, I like that the shoes are scuffed.

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:16 PM) :

absolutely love asian men with gorgeous hair like this. i'm not even looking at what he's wearing, haha.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:51 PM) :

I think it's a denim shirt underneath the sweater. Anyway, the whole look is street smart.

Blogger green lantern said ... (2:34 PM) :

I don't really like the texture upon texture of the sweaters. I also like db coats/sweaters with at least one button of closure. Color is good.

Blogger Ana Polar said ... (3:02 PM) :

I want that knit top for me!!!!

Anonymous erika said ... (5:07 PM) :

The stance is a major clue to his gender. Compare it the caved-ankle or pigeon toed stance of Alesssandra a few days ago, who belied her (fabulous!)androgynous look with her i'm-just-a-helpless-girl stance.

Anonymous Sara Lua said ... (6:02 PM) :

Don, I agree with you.

This is a yawn, man or woman, I don't care. I have a feeling only positive comments get promoted.

Absolutely right, Joe. It's what makes the comments section of this blog such a bore. I made a perfectly acceptable point about this being a case of trickle up fashion by writing that what I see here today I saw the kids in my neighborhood wearing yesterday, but it apparently did not make the grade. Not quite positive enough, I imagine.

Blogger Komal said ... (4:16 PM) :

I almost bought a double breasted cardigan this past week...now I regret not getting it. It was even heathered in a similar way, though I preferred the color; it was a very pretty sage green.
I also think its completely unfair that men can look as chic as women in clothes which are infitinetly less uncomfortable (i.e skin tight and sky high. One could argue that a girl looks just as nice in denim and flat shoes, but I think we all know in our heart of hearts that women are most stylish in stilettos and dresses. I'm just bitter.

Parsons student!!!! At least I think soooo...swear I have seen him at school!

+ my only complaint about this look is the buttons! This sweater would look sooo much better with some vintage brass buttons! >>> I tend to be a button snob... srsly! <<< :/

Love the sweater-on-sweater look, the fit of the jeans, and the scuffy shoes. And that hair...

Blogger Unknown said ... (12:54 AM) :

I love it, and I think the gloves are actually really important to the whole look, they keep it from delving into a librarian-ish territory. (not that that is necessarily bad)

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:10 PM) :

A great sense for colors in the upper half ….but I wouldn’t have chosen the white trousers

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:15 PM) :

What!!Know him, way to go Micheal! =)

Anonymous melanie said ... (10:24 AM) :

I like the layers of shirts she has on. The blue in the collar contrasts with the orange of the bulky sweater. I personally like bulky sweaters. They are so cozy:))
