Comments on "On the Street....Seventh Ave., NYC"
Impressive. It is something between I love her and I am afraid of her.
such a star
Great to have some connect between the talent and the environment - normally your portraits stand out to me for their clear disconnect between man / nature.
Keep up the good work Scott :)
Seventh Heaven, she is too cool.
Love her attitude...
Love this picture!
electric blue bzzz!
Wow she is fierce.
sexy!
honestly... she scares me to death
She's gorgeous (and a little scary). Obviously the guy in the tan jacket thinks so too!
oh snap. pretty fierce..
love the picture,it's like being from editorial
www.therichhomeless.blogspot.com
What a great shot! I love the look on the guy's face. This is Vogue material.
I can only hope that there's a little bit of irony in here somewhere... fashionista/os tend to take themselves a little bit too seriously.
That being said, i LOVE her shoes. it's not too cold in NYC to be wearing peep toes?
She looks fantastic, but it is the photo that blows me away. The movement all around here is electric, perfect.
Ha! Total Glamazon. That guy looks SO annoyed he has to walk around her.
Love the black outfit with the blue, but not to gold belt. And maybe a bit too much attitude...
P.S. Picking up on what V said - Forgot to say: all the movement around her... the picture itself is great!
She is the very picture of a powerful New York woman, powerful in the sense of being strong and knowing who she is and what she wants. Bravo to her!
Back in the 80s, I had lots of electric blue (including my wedding dress), and a big, gold Wonder Woman belt. In that era, we wore stirrup pants for the skinny-leg look, rather than leggings. Otherwise, I think everything she has on would have been in my closet at that time.
If it was good then and it's good now, I guess it must be classic.
Electric Blue...fantastic, the best pic yet.
She's so fiercee ! Love it
www.dimogonda.blogspot.com
Love the movement around the main subject, striking photograph!
Stop.Pose.POW!
hilarious photo with the guy looking at her thinking, "why is this chick blocking the road?" while the two on the left side are even more hilarious, one more orange than valentino.
the blue lining of her jacket is amazing colour in this photo.
Mick Jagger's next girlfriend!
i really dont like the outfit at all. I think it looks cheap and there is nothing innovative about the look. she looks like shes in from New Jersey for the day with her husband shopping on Canal
Wow. That's truly a great shot. Did you stage it? With that guy's look and the attitude! I love it! One of my favorite of your shots.
To me, it was all about the expression of the man standing next to her. THAT in it self, was priceless!
-K
Love that belt!
Great Blog.

wow... it's like she stopped time or something.
http://queenofmayhem.blogspot.com/
Action shot!
she looks amazing and fierce. she oozes confidence and I like that!
www.FashionSnag.com
That is FIERCE!
She is working that photo for sure. But the lad on the right and his What The #%@* look on his face is what makes the shot. Yes he "Looks Bothered" HA HA...
OUCH! anon. Leave Jersey out of it!
although there is something cheap about her look but I can't figure out what. It is still a stunning picture non the less.
wow, stylish!
Great shot! Clustered with people around her but yet she is still the center of attention!
http://mushitushi.blogspot.com
Amazing,simply gorgeous.
That expression on the onlooker's face, priceless.
stunning shot!
Generally not a fan of poses, but how can you not admire her slight sense of nonchalant hubris?
SEXY! It's key to mix some pop colors in with the black.
The best accessory however, is a man on your left giving you and "Eff Off!" look!
http://jeffrey-james-accessories-terrariums.blogspot.com/
The expression on the gentleman's face says it all...
The man next to her is giving her the death stare. Not in a good way either. LOL. I like the movement in this photograph, and though I don't necessarily love everything this woman is wearing, she does summarize a very New York working woman look.
I honestly thought this was part of a magazine spread complete with man in beige.
I think you made her day!
Great photo however the outfit is not very innovative. Kind of cheap-looking; trite.
Your photos are usually quite transparent to the subject matter, but here there's a nice tension between what's more interesting, the photo or the phashionista. She has stopped time. Will be one of your classics, I'll bet.
i love the movement in the picture and then you suddenly have to hold still as you look at her..!! fantastic..
this shoot is absolutly stunning, the way she looks at you like nothing can be stronger than her, and the way the man is looking at her, just like us thinking like she's right, she's just the stongest !
how can she do that ? we can't even see her eyes, it's just by the body, the hand in the pocket, the foot slighty moved.
congrat's and OMG she's breathtaking.
http://picturesupdated.blogspot.com
This photo is wonderful! Love the lighting, the composition, the juxtaposition of the "model" among the commuters trying to get around. Love!
wow i think this is the best shoot so far lol. i love the way the dude is looking at her, i love the background, and i love the impression on her face lol. i think the pics could be used as a front page magazine lol :)
For some reason, I am not digging this outfit at all. It just doesn't look like the effortless style you usually showcase here. Instead, it looks like any outfit from mall-America to me.
i love the contrast between stillness and motion in this photo. her attitude combined with the bustling backdrop makes this so fantastic.
I bet no one can pick out the tourists in this picture. I will give everyone a hint, they are on the side that rhymes with weft.
She scares me in the most amazing way possible. This is fashion in superhero comic book (when they were good) proportions.
http://voguebeforefood.blogspot.com
Fierce shot!
gorgeous
RAZOR SHARP, tailored, determined, edgy, but I like the outfit, sans that gold belt, and for the first time in ages, I like a pair of women's shoes, these are lovely. We have a definition for a woman like this in Beverly Hills ---- the second wife! : )
robert
great motion. visit my site at www.LizaTara.com
This is one killer shot!
The first commenter said it best "It is something between I love her and I am afraid of her." ... which might make her ideal.
Ready for her close-up!
this looks like it came directly from the pages of a fashion campaign.
Awesome!
such a neat clean look, love black with right shock of color and that electric blue is it! ripped jeans are so passe' next to her.
fierce!!
Epic photo, Scott! I love the guys look who's squeezing past!

I like the photo itself more than the ensemble. I think she is taking herslef a bit too seriously for my taste and something about the big glasses, big bag, big coat combo, or maybe the fact that she looks a lot more like money than fashion. but like i said good shot.
I personally love the contrast between her too big for life, taking herself too seriously attitude and the people around her, especially the man on her proper left. She may be having her fabulous fashion moment, but life is still going on around her. She is simultaneously connected to and removed from the environment.
Brilliant, brilliant photo.
Hasn't the man in the tan coat been a subject of at least one of your photos? He looks very familiar. Looks like he is trying to identify who the woman is.
I like the contrast between her strong stance from the knees up and then the turned-out ankle that says "or maybe not".
Perfectly styled...the lining of her coat and stance does it for me!
Awesome! I love this picture - the lining on a jacket has seldom made such an impact on an outfit. This woman doesn't give a damn what I think of her - she knows she's freaking phenomenal, and I admire that.
Energie
HIlarious. Perhaps she's been reading too much Ayn Rand.
Yeah, he's probably thinking: "What does she have that I don't."
ha ha ha
ha ha ha
ha ha ha
Pietro
She looks like any sense of fashion she has is only as a result of a lot of money. And I don't like that incredibly impractical and awkward way she carries what must be a rather heavy handbag. The belt is beautiful, though.
this image itself is amazing....FIERCE...as Christian Siriano would say. The man to her left is c-l-e-a-r-l-y annoyed.
but she knows that she is too fabulous to care
LOVE LOVE LOVE this - her confidence literally jumps out of the screen and style is 99% confidence - you barely even look at what she is wearing!
http://iamanenglishrose.blogspot.com
Great classic NYC street photography! Love it.
Fantastic picture. She is fierce and really seems stands out amongst all the other people on the street.
The composition and attitude of the subject and the man on the side is what makes this picture. However, I find her to be very cheap for some reason. Perhaps it's the overly glam sunglasses and belt. Too many 'bells and whistles.' I feel like she's just another tourist from California looking for some cheap bargains.
she's got it! whatever it is, she's got it.
www.getobsessed.blogspot.com
love the bottom shot, the guy on the right seals it.
wonderful belt.
Masculinity as last...and it's a woman
AMAZING photo! wow, this is almost too good to be not set up. great shot.
OH YES!!!
one of the best!!!
each piece is pretty drab or banal, but the combination and stance lift it up up up.
good job, mysterious seventh avenue babe.
great job, sartorialist.
as others have already said, this is an amazing photo. i hate to be repetitive but it really is. you were already a good photographer, and yet you're somehow getting better. hats off.
the epitome of new york
Betcha two bucks this picture will become her new Facebook profile picture.
this is an AMAZING photo. i love everything about it!
this woman WEARS it!
Ok, I really like her pants. Where can I find a great pair of skinny jeans or whatever??? I need to know.
Great series of pics!
I love this for many reasons.
One is the woman herself, powerful, fierce and elegant. Next is the the blue lining of her coat, Amazing!
Secondly is the man walking past, he doesnt seem to understand what is so important about this girl, maybe he never will.
and lastly is the 2 girls on the left in their ripped jeans and skater shoes, they look so blah and unorganized compaired to the center focus
Shawty what your name is..
This photo and the two after it, all on seventh avenue, look different. Not just in composition, but something about the image quality. Have you made a technical change, or is it just the light?
They're all great by the way!
cold cold cold..... but chique no less
What a kickass photo. Love the expression of the guy to her left. He seems frightened by her fierceness.
new york is amazing
Vamp!
Great accessories!
Wow, you captured an AMAZING shot!
fantastic look!
the belt and shoes are so nice!
XOXO
http://loresfashion.blogspot.com
I love the movement in this pic. And there's something about the light that makes is exciting to look at.
She's sexy and strong looking. But a little disco queen to me the blue, that gold belt. But I do love the shoes and even those very straight pants.
It is however a wonderful photograph.
Susan
Very Sexy.
Wow!! such a nice one!!!!!!!!!
wow!! such a nice one
One of your best I've seen! The woman is so dynamic, especially her jacket, that lining is sick. I also love how the background is so much more a part of this shot, like the city didn't stop moving for you.
PS~ You rock my retinas!
Diva! (In a good way) So impressive!
The one with the woman and the people around her looks like it was taken as a magazine spread, planned and everything. Awesome. :D
stunning really a power women that girl......... MIND BLOWING
I love the contrast between your subject and the people to the left, our brains bridge the two contrasting sartorial choices and fill in the blank.
The picture seems to ask the viewer...and what about you?
More than the outfit itself, I love this photo. ...though I AM having watch envy...
love the sneak of blue of her coat & the denim in the background
Fierce shot!
I'm drawn to the girls on the left. They look EXACTLY the same: brown Uggs or skater shoes, destroyed Abercrombie jeans, navy blue Hollister parkas, and pin-straight hair. But what's most compelling is that they have no idea what's going on in the center of the photograph, both in a literal sense and fashion-wise.
I love hers shoes !
I think the belt cheapens the outfit. All in all, a 'meh' outfit. But I love the whole photo.
this just overwhelms me i just cant stop looking at it! the whole thing is soo amazing thank you again scott!
the orange tanned girl on the left is far too distracting for me to focus on your actual subject. eesh. unreal.
wow:)
i really like a girl with confidence:)
You go girl...
SP
There is nothing wrong with ripped jeans. My favorite jeans got ripped and I wear them - I figure that "style" is as valid as any other crazy "style" out there - who makes the rules that it is so "passe"? People fawn over some person in PJ pants and call him so artistic avant garde bla bla bla yet the same people get all worked up on torn jeans? Seems like a small group of snooty people like to decide what style is. I Like the main girl's shoes, but not the clothes and am not a fan of the belts. I think the girls next to her are just as confident and have a very down to earth style
My perfume is the 5th avenue.
Nice pic...anyways...:) very elegant
Cheers!
Monica from Paris
AMAZING shot! Isn't it vivid?
Love the electric blue lining! And that's actually a totally true depiction of the garment district in NY...random combination of tourists and fashion peoples squished on the sidewalks together!
http://rosieshaheen.blogspot.com/
Don't really like it... Feels like she got lost on accessories: fur on the coat AND this extra fur collar, golden belt, blue detail on coat... But great photo and very different from what you usually do.
strong woman!
Not a big fan of the book, but I adore the belt.
theheartbreakinc.blogspot.com
I think she made that coat. It's really unusual.
I'm a little iffy about the belt, but she can carry-off anything.
Style is attitude and she's got lots of that.
I love her belt. But above all, I love her attitude.
Her Armoire: where fashion and style meet
Stopping traffic to say the least.
This is so New York... midwestern tourists in the back, a powerful glamazon, and a dweller taking it all in, absolutely imbibed by her gorgeousness. Amazing shot, Scott.
Everyone in this shot has such a strong expression, and the composition and quality of the photograph are so well done the scene seems almost surreal.
So much to take in.
This is a great shot. Even though there is a lot of action going on, she is still the focal point. However, that guy's facial expression is priceless.
love that guy's expression
she is fabulous
haha, it's so good it looks like the people in the background are staged performers!!
Yeah. This girl is no joke.
AMAZING shot!!
Great pic - i love the guy on the left... he's perfect.
She's too full of herself with her "try too much to be stylish" outfit but thankfully so... she makes the shot.
impeccably. new york.
Rock star!
Femme Fatale!
I'd love to go on a riot with her…
He wishes! Hee!
She looks like Ferris Bueller's girlfriend.
Great shot - I love the angle!
she looks kind of like an alien.. what makes this pic is the guy's priceless annoyance with the model diva persona
i look at your photos daily, and i couldn't stop be do a double take at this lovely lady who i grew up with in st. louis....fabulous
Wow this is a handbag!!
