Comments on "On the Street....Mother & Daughter, Paris"
Everything was so sweet and beautiful, until I scrolled down and saw her pants.
it's always good to first look at a girls mother before you'll get serious :D
Beautiful photo!
Skirt/trouser hybrid...Skeggings or trouskirt?
gorgeous
LOVE the mother and daughter photo..
jean pants are awesome !!!!
I AM
SPEECHLESS
WOW
THAT IS
SPEECHLESS
WOOW:
speechless
gorrrrgggeous
love me
the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. they are both beautiful woman and i love how their outfits compliment each other.
sweet :):)
I LIKE! Who is she? I remember that Garance featured her recently in an amazing suit.
Les Coupines
beautiful!
Mother and Daughter are slammin'. Love the daughter's look.
First thing I notice is how their outfits complement each other! Really, really love this photo perhaps because it reminds me of my own mum!
definitely brings a smile to my face. Love it!
SO gorgeous!!
Those pants weren't pretty when I first wore them in 1985, and they haven't gotten any better with time.
That is one 80s trend that should have stayed in the 80s.
disagree with the first comment,
I think those pants are dope.
Lovely:)
I love the scarf of the daughter.
Her pants are original and look great on her but I don't think I would where them myself.
Overall, gorgeous photo.
good taste runs in the family!
This is damn freakin' awesome!
I agree with anonymous "Everything was so sweet and beautiful, until I scrolled down and saw her pants." haha
The daughters scarf is great. The jury is still out on this pants style for me I've seen some in NYC and still can't make up my mind. The mother is classic great hat.

NYC street fashion
just cool...
I love her scarf!!
Best
Jose
The pants are hideous.
I was just about to write "the apple doesn't fall from the tree..." and saw it's already written ... but I was going to add, "in the best way possible!" Not sure about the dropped crotch in the denim harem pants, although the daughter is so tall, slim, and modell-y I think she's working it.
I love the jean "genie" pants...or "jeanie pants"!
Adorable! Wish my mom was in Paris with me too. You captured a really fab moment.
Love the denim pants my grandfather had a black pair in lebanon
Awe they are so cute! Adorable. :)
The mother reminds me a bit of the late Josephine Premice--parent to Susan Fales HIll. They are both so chic and glowing.
Perfect scarf girl, beautiful even looks.
greeeat pants
just love it !
You should have take pictures of us in Prais's streets ( we were there !)
talia&lilyrose
wow love this love them! also love the daughter's pants! <3
Beautiful faces. I love the mothers smile and the perfect skin of both of them!
lovely.
everything was great until i saw those PANTS! is she wearing a diaper?
Great jeans! The mother's hat reminds me painfully of the fact that my daughter tells me it's a sign of my midlife crisis that I suddenly like everything with leopard print...
As sure as Simon is speechless, Gordon, it helps to look at a lady's mum before going all lovey dovey.
Pietro
Wow, they both look amazing. Mom's lookin' hawt!
Beautiful pictures.
Amazing blog discovered few days ago... So addict
Love the daughter's shawl and sweater, not sure about her jacket's color or the pirate jean pants. The mother's got a gorgeou smile. Would love to see her in tailored black leather instead of baggy. Makes her look frumpy. Not feeling her animal print hat.
The daughter looks so self-confident...!
Beautiful shot!
I love daughters scarf- fabulous! xxx
Beatiful. This are Jaipur-pants in jean :)
Just grand! They look so in sync!
http://belleafriqpoetry.blogspot.com/
i really love this. they both compliment each other so well.
http://nothingbutapackofcards.blogspot.com/
Beautiful capture of a beautiful mother and daughter! I love the church with a cross in the horizon!
I wish you had pulled away a little so we could see the whole looks! Those denim pants especially....very intriguing. You tease!
They are beautiful!
so beautiful! are those denim harem pants?
What a beautiful pair they make. Fantastic photo!
really sweet, they are both so beautiful in a very natural way. nothing pretentious nor wannabe about them what so ever, just genuinely interesting and beautiful faces/style. yet another photo that renders us speechless sartorialist...
pretty cool girl this daughter :)
U can't touch this...It's Hammer Time !
The daughter's look is amazing
I love the scarf and the sweater along with the jacket. I'm not so crazy about those denim mc hammer pants. It does not work together. Cute pic though
I love the young rebel paired with the mature sophisticate. They are breathtaking! Awesome shot!

very beautiful! love her pants

Gorg!
aww, how sweet!

Its great when you notice style running in the family. But here, I think my favourite of the two is actually the mother. The mix of soft fabrics (skirt and scarf) with tougher elements (the leather jacket.)
The daughter's is nice too, but I'm not sure about the skirt/jeans.
Very interesting post..
http://clothescamerasandcoffee.blogspot.com/
What personalities! What an interesting portrait of generational differences.
Does this mean we'll all be wearing that Souq-meets-Levis cut soon?
beauty!!!
You can see the influence the mother has on her daughters style. Lovely photo!
They are gorgeous. I love what the daughter is wearing. The denim is so fresh and looks so comfortable, though my boyfriend wouldn't walk down the street with me in them..
Beautiful women, and I love everything about their respective styles... except the pants. I'm sorry, but they are just awful. Terribly unflattering, and bringing to mind all sorts of possible medical conditions.
The mother is so lovely, so clearly proud of her beautiful, stylish daughter. Not crazy at all about the denim diaper pants though....
This pic is fab. I love mom's smile.

They are lovely! They look like sisters...how cute!
http://loveyourfabulousself.blogspot.com/
it's fashionable yet it doesnt look appealing at all.
Both of them are beautiful women! I didn't even notice what they are wearing.
beautiful people. the daughter is gorgeous. is she a model?
I love this. It reminds me of my mom and I: my mom also tends to dress in darker, muted colours with a bold statement piece, and I like to experiment with different textures, colours, and fabrics (need to have some fun with my "youthful energy"!!). You can definitely see they're mother and daughter.
It is really sweet and beautifull.
just read your article in the LA Times today...u r the best!!!!
Wow, they are both so fabulous! Love both their looks, especially the daughter's!
love the pants ♥
woooow what a amazing picture.
love the mother daughter style mix.
check www.weartodare.blogspot.com for your own little suprise...

Beautiful women.
Dont liked the jeans. Isn tight.
the more i see your paris photos the more i appreciate the individuality of your subject
thanks for that
stylishhhhhhhh. Love her scurf. And mother's hat, and them together. I think that making photos of mother with doughter could be as interesting as making photos of friends, or rather more interesting. It's like conversation between different times. Plus for you!
I would love to know of her name they are so beautiful!!!!!
theplumpenny.blogspot.com
they're stunners! pretty ladies with great style. love the mom's hat.
Whether you would wear the pants or not, SHE looks good in them. Go ladies!!
www.devanity.blogspot.com
so natural and fresh! I love mother's hat and daugther jeans! Gorgeous picture.
The women are beautiful. I just. don't. get. the pants.
So damn cute! I dig how the mother wears supposedly "wild" leopard print as a demure and dainty hat. Very amusing, and it suits her beautiful face perfectly.
The pants? old style showing up in Paris as new. That's life. let me go put on my suit with a padded shoulder and a slit up the side.
Amazing on the top. Those pants look like she is carrying something around in them, though. Not good.
xx
hmm the jeans looks weird, but am still loving it :0
Very cozy looks! I love the fringe on the scarf.
Congrats on the cover of the Image section of The L.A. Times today. Good job.
Both of them look great and cute. I feel no gab between them.:)
This is so right - the natural order of things. The mother is classic and the daughter is still experimenting. Both are gorgeous and whether you'd told us it was taken in Paris or not, somehow I would've guessed...
What a wonderful photo, Scott! The daughter's outfit is great, but the photo itself is amazing on it's own, even out of the context of The Sartorialist!
- 21arrondissement.com
wow, those pants are something else.
Problem is, you can't ride a bike in those saggy baggy pants.
Les Nubians!
Sooooooo beautiful these two are!
I love it! And her scarf if amazing!
these ladies look great!
If the people in these photos ever read people hating on their drop-crotch, I'm sure they just think--let the middle brow wrinkle.
love it! and I don't mind the pants. something only a few people can pull off. this picture reminds me of my mother and I. my mom comes up that high on me also. ;-)
That's my friend Bianca with her mom! She always looks great.... :)
wow, this captures the relationship between a mother and daughter surprisingly well. Beautiful photo.
Please, the lot of you, learn just a little about fashion before you misspeak and bathe us all in the waters of your ignorance. Harem pants; they're called harem pants. For the those in the know, they have made a presence in Parisian fashion as of late, and love them or hate them, fashion always boils down to the attitude and energy of the person. I can feel the daughters self confidence through Schuman's lens. Dislike her pants, but love her style, because that involves the culmination of many elements, not just one article of clothing.
The jean-pants are ridiculously insane!!! Two beautiful women indeed!

my friend got my your autographed book for my birthday (signed in D.C.). the photographs are beautiful in print.
you sure are busy, but if you have time try and check out goscavenge.blogspot.com
Are those jeans the Harem R13?
awesomee i liked it the most.......
:)
so adorable.
Love the white cardi!!!
the daughter is so fierce!
check out my little blog;
http://mimiandtali.blogspot.com/
I love the scarf in this picture! where is it from?
well, young enough to be still trying it out. mum's worked it out!!!
beautiful beautiful beautiful. the daughter's scarf, the mother's hat, great complimentary tones.
Luv , double duo!!
www.wani-djdanger.blogspot.com
not really feeling this - not sure why.
They are both attractive but I don't really like what they are wearing. Don't think the hat suits the mother and she has too much white on her upper lids.
The daughters expression is not very friendly.
Just my opinion!
Perfect, perfect photo.
The jeans are getting no love from me tho...
MM x
cute
They look so cute!
Could you please take a look at my blog? It would mean so much to me!
http://scrambledfashion.blogspot.com/
Still not a fan of those pants, but they look lovely together.
These ladies are pretty but I don’t like what they’re wearing, especially these drop-crotch jeans and the leopard print-hat.
The hat makes the outfit and that scarf delivers the punch.
really cute!!
nice hat
I imagine they have very interesting things to talk about with each other. They are beautiful and bad ass, daughter's jeans and mother's hat...
THey both look cool. The pants work on her, love how they are constructed, even though this harem style is really not for almost anyone! Hahaha
Great picture, strong happy women. The pants are distracting though. I love the daughter's scarf .
The mom looks good. The daughter's pants are questionable.
This is a nice mother/daughter fashion dynamic duo. Very nice visual of hip chic partnering with classic chic. I love the daughter's willingness to "go for it" with the funky jeans. I want to see their shoes!
not a favorite, the mother looks great because shes simple with a touch of energy from the hat but the daughter... ehh, too much of nothing..i think, i really like the scarf but everything else could have been put together better.
but then again, she doesnt look bad, so to each his own!
Those pants disturb me. Fat people have skin that looks like that after they've lost tons of weight. Otherwise, very nice. And after having seen the mother, I would propose to her fille in a hearbeat.
This is a fashion blog, you must not question the harem pants.
i like the pants.
i love the display of affection between the two.
each is beautiful.
agree, the eyeshadow might be differently applied.
but don't really care about the eyeshadow because the picture is about love and the joy in that mom's face
This mother/daughter pair is beautiful! However, the pants are a little TOO eighties, and I used to have a hat just like that when I was seven. Otherwise, very chic!
Very powerful women!
Great shot...thanks....L
I take the mother!
these two women are beautiful, absolutely stunning but i'm afraid it looks like one of them put their pants on backwards...
Not loving the Hammer jeans on the daughter, but I love the romance of the picture. I'd love to be strolling in Paris one sunny day with my daughter (and son......and husband).
we were wondering how long the pants were. are they very fitted at the bottom?
Beautiful women, but, yeah, those droopy pants aren't doing her any favors.
vraiment tres belle photo!
sweet combo!

It is people that must draw their own conclusions. This is what Scott says in his book. First line. Get a copy. Read it. It's worth it. Draw your own conclusion. Let others draw their own.

Thank you. I was able to find this line in my copy. It is indeed what Scott says. I have bookmarked it. If only I had more time to devote to the study of the words of Scott. Of course I carry the book with me everywhere, and I pity those who do not yet have a copy. They live in darkness, but they do not know it, like blind mice in a cave.
2 very pretty ladies, but those jeans are trying a little too hard.
Johan 10:34 Man, I must have read your post about 4-5 times and I still can't figure out whether you're mocking me or being serious.
Pietro
Great 'genes'
I love the connection between Mother and Daughter...
Love, Love, Love those PANTS! I haven't seen them ANYWHERE, not in DENIM!-

By the way, I love Harem pants when worn by women and women alone but I am still of the opinion that whomsoever should not be thus inspired has a right to express their opinion. N'est-ce pas?
Pietro
I love the jean of the daughter. Looks nice.
love the outfit..except the pants but other than that i love the picture
This is amazing. I wish I could see what shoes miss daughter is wearing.
i love everything about the daughter's look from waist up, even the uncombed yet beautiful high bun.
beautiful warm and glowing peice!
wow what Wouldn't I do for those pants?
they both look great but i just hate the trousers!
They're both gorg!
Love this photo. Especially how youthful the mom still looks. This girl knows she will still be beautiful when she's her moms age.
such a gorgeous pair, even with the frown the beauty shines thru. love the pants and the whole look. She pulls it off well!
A beautiful family portrait of confidence and grace achieved and that which is still to come.
me encanta el outfit de la chica de la izqqueirda. tiene una influencia arabe ! el pañuelo ( no me atrevo a decir que es una palestina) y los pantalones bombachos. muy natural !
