Anonymous Katya said ... (5:05 PM) :

love love love the top one. adventurous and it has just enough geometry and disorder to work. i dont think any of the pieces paired with more simple pieces would look as good.

Blogger Laura said ... (5:14 PM) :

The second is really cool!!!!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:17 PM) :

where are the shoes in the second picture from?! i keep seeing them everywhere!

Blogger Unknown said ... (5:19 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:20 PM) :

Interesting leggings!

Anonymous The Photodiarist said ... (5:21 PM) :

There's something about the coat in the first photo that is a bit reminiscent of a bathroom rug but I do like the idea behind it. The second photo contains some great details, such as that vest and the boots and the shine of the pants.

Anonymous AnonymousJK said ... (5:25 PM) :

Mad mixes that totally work!

Anonymous Nina Sky said ... (5:30 PM) :

I wonder what the Ideas behind the couture in both photos and also if there was any intention behin the bathroom-rug-jaket

Anonymous Catalina said ... (5:32 PM) :

Regarding the shoes, the top image shows a pair of Marni ankle boots, and the bottom image a pair of Frye Harness boots.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:35 PM) :

I LOVE the leather boots and vest or is that a jacket?? in the second picture. I am not so keen on gold sparkle, I think it throws the look of. but it is very bold and courageous!

Blogger Soren Lorensen said ... (5:40 PM) :

her legs are absolutely spangly and actually I adore them

Blogger s milano said ... (5:57 PM) :

Anonymous grizzlesnort said ... (6:01 PM) :

clearly very spendy and very high-end bag lady inspired. Love 'em. I would echo the comment that the individual pieces would not be nearly as effective alone but I really like the pow-wow bracelet anyway.

Blogger mia said ... (6:12 PM) :

magnificent. I love these kind of smart people.

Blogger Beauty Is Diverse said ... (6:16 PM) :

I like the gold leggings.

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:37 PM) :

Is that Haidee Findlay-Levin?

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:40 PM) :

Uh, no.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:42 PM) :

LOVE the pants ! both of them :) <3

Anonymous Catherine said ... (7:32 PM) :

The gold leggings look like Ralph Lauren. I love a bit of day time glitter!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:34 PM) :

Does anyone know where the gold leggings are from?

Blogger Ditte, Dorte, Julie og Jeppe said ... (7:48 PM) :

love the contrast between the gold sequins and the brown leather west (?) and boots. Thank god some dare to push the limit! Otherwise, what would fashion be like?

NICE BOOTS :0

Anonymous John M. Doyle said ... (8:58 PM) :

Details, details-the devil is always in the details, isn't it? Even if you don't love how these items are pieced together, it is really the visual image of how each element contrasts and works against and, surprisingly, with the other ones. Style and fashion are driven by taking risks. Assembling and disassembling, then reassembling all the many disparate elements are what drives people to design, create and just plain old decide what to put on before heading out the door. Would I necessarily counsel a woman to wear these things together? Probably not. However, with a bit of tweaking and adaptation, these two outfits could be made quite runway ready and commercially viable. The doubters of the world may only see two odd outfits. Others of us see some possibilities here.

Blogger Joy Mars said ... (8:59 PM) :

Sort of like "Mad Max" goes disco.

Anonymous Susan said ... (9:00 PM) :

Love the bootss!!

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:11 PM) :

i recognize the frye boots and leather jacket from a previous picture-the redhead in white jeans!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:25 PM) :

I find it funny that so many people were dissing the girl in the mother daughter pic for her denim harem pants, but I haven't seen one negative comment about either of these get-ups. That said, expensive or not, I'll pass on both of these hodge-podge hot messes...

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:00 PM) :

Thank goodness for those who dress like this, even if they are waiting for the bus back to the crazy costume factory. But aren't we all in costume and isn't that the fun?

Anonymous sanmiguelense said ... (10:29 PM) :

Michaela's looking like she has lost her center and is spinning around in the fashion closet. Edit the Edditrice per piacere!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:37 PM) :

I would love to have a shag coat, inspired by photo number 1... How fun!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:10 AM) :

NO NOT THOSE SHOES FROM CHANEL SPRING 2010 RTW!!!!

Blogger Brigadeiro said ... (2:26 AM) :

LOVE the different textures! The coat and bracelet of the first photo are gorgeous! Not sure about the socks with the Marni's though...The 2nd is perfection...
xx

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:29 AM) :

Wow! Plenty of great details in those shots! Love it!

Anonymous Cecylia said ... (2:38 AM) :

You have such a great eye for detail!

Anonymous Nikki said ... (2:59 AM) :

I love that Michaela has used the same shoes and jacket but come up with two totally different outfits!
I love this outfit! I'm not sure why... my head is telling me that it's all wrong, and yet somehow it just works

Blogger vinda s said ... (3:47 AM) :

photo # 1 is a bit too crowded IMO... but nice boots! :D

i dig photo # 2 instead :D, the layering had nicely put the leather vest in the middle of two laid-back cotton shirts... love the sequined gold legging too! and... nice boots!

Anonymous Annie said ... (3:50 AM) :

Love the second look!

Fab leggins and boots.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:52 AM) :

The second one rocks, but the first one, not so much. Just because it's a bunch of random (and arguably independently ugly) stuff put together by someone in Paris doesn't mean that it's fashionable, or even necessarily that creative.

But I do covet the gold leggings.

Blogger Ammu said ... (3:52 AM) :

Such fun looks - love people with a sense of adventure :)

Blogger Sofi said ... (4:03 AM) :

Wow, golden sequin leggins and brown boots, I love it, it's brilliant!!

Blogger Odin's Maven said ... (4:37 AM) :

I know that if I left the house in either of those get-ups, I'd look a prize fool. But the clash of textures and colours makes for such pleasing images. In the second photo, I completely adore the contrast between the earthy, rustic leather and white cotton, and the spangly gold of the leggings. Joyous!

Anonymous Hande said ... (5:59 AM) :

I don't the top one is working, too much of a rag-lady. I love the bottom one. Of course the faces are important in deciding if this is working.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:02 AM) :

Love it!

Blogger Nouvelle Fag said ... (7:02 AM) :

i have never gotten so excited about legwear in my life
the florals! <3
i die

Blogger Barbara said ... (7:49 AM) :

I agree with John Doyle. The second outfit is really quite clever in its eclectic quirky way. Love the boots with the bling-y pants, and the white cotton shirt and leather vest are exactly right. The crumpled prince-of-wales cotton check (belongs to her man!) on top of it all is the least happy piece of the combo, but it's still ok. It's harmony to me. However, the first one is just hideous. Really ugly. Not in a million could you convince me otherwise - this is just lack of taste. Sorry........

Blogger Ripped Jeans said ... (9:12 AM) :

the second picture is die hard!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:57 AM) :

Michael Jackson wears similar gold pants in "This Is It."

- T from Arizona

Blogger Evernolia said ... (11:14 AM) :

I want the bracelets from the first pic..love!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:35 AM) :

love, love the leggings and frye boots......would rather them being rocked separately!

don't like the shag carpet for coat. fab bracelets.

Blogger Allen - East Hampton said ... (11:56 AM) :

Both are very creative and appealing, but I'm not a fan of the little booties in the second shot.

What? So only the positive comments get posted? Hmmm, okay, let me try again.

As far as both these looks go, IMHO, more is not better. Love some of the individual pieces in the second look, but feel a bit of editing is needed.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:51 PM) :

I just had a dream about this gold sequin pants picture last night. So funny. I had no reaction when i saw it yesterday though. And in my dream i was also wearing 60's style blk coat and wondering if you will take my picture. :)
Apparently, you and your pictures are haunting me. in a good way.
BTW, it was very nice to meet you in SF.

Blogger Jeanine Payer Studio said ... (2:06 PM) :

It is expected, encouraged, demanded that one dress as in a dream when in Paris during fashion week.

Anonymous Sally said ... (3:48 PM) :

Frye boots and sequins! Fantastic! And what looks like a menswear shirt to top it off...mixmaster.

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (10:42 PM) :

Great shots.

Blogger Olivia said ... (11:48 AM) :

The second one is amazing! It just works!

Anonymous Carien said ... (2:30 PM) :

Love the top picture! Have the same boots as the second... mine are from a Spanish brand named Sendra. Kind of expensive, but not too much!

Blogger Kat said ... (1:02 AM) :

the furry tan coat is from A Detacher (creaturesofcomfort.us). a statement piece like that one begs for lots and lots of crazy. she looks great!

Anonymous joe t said ... (10:25 AM) :

its killing me! is this the same girl who was wearing the white jeans below????

Blogger LenoraTheVictorious said ... (4:20 PM) :

love the boots. so much.

Blogger seek said ... (3:37 AM) :

Love the leggings, I bought a skirt in a similar bronze sequence from Lucette.

Anonymous Lui&Ella said ... (4:31 AM) :

i want those gold tightsssss!!!!! j'adoreeee!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:34 AM) :

i love the way there is a bit of organic cotton with a dark leather hyde and a cotton coat to soften the look... the gold leggings just picks up the dark colors...a beautifully poetic way to wear shine

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:11 PM) :

is that michael jackson's this is it golden pants!!??

Blogger Tati M.a.b said ... (7:55 PM) :

Love picture this would be a great wall piece in the living room shinny golden pants with ugly rough boots
