Comments on "On the Street.... So Much to Love, Madrid"
Scott - Congratulations on the write-up in today's Financial Times paper (re: Art of the Trench)!!!
Your photos continue to inspire all of your fans. =)
Today's girl is super cute mixing up the textures. The aviator sunglasses & red lips top off the outfit perfectly.
The zigging and zagging of her sweater is particularly sweet.
Like old Missoni but mussed up a bit.
Very chic!
I think this picture is wonderfully lit, one of those quick moments in time when you just have to get your camera out. As for her outfit, there is too much going on, too many textures, colors and lines everywhere. Even sadlier, I can't find one piece that I love here. She herself is lovely, though. Jorge from WPB
almost thought it was my apc man jacket!
love this outfit - especially the way the pant narrows toward the knee - best is her smile!!
I think all the different textures work. She has a bold outfit and a bold smile! Beautiful picture! CS

I agree! There is so much to love. The vertical and horizontal stripes are the best! Not to mention the patterns and the solid blue scarf. Love this.
Yes, she has entirely too much going on. But, I can see why she would be intriguing to photograph.
By the way, I know where you shot this photo. I visited Madrid in August. Lovely city.
a cute bo-bo :)
I like the stile "that's my father blazer...oh those are my granma bracelets and I stole the scarf from a clochard"
lovely smile
I love the look!!! She looks happy & relaxed.
Love love loooove the blue scarf!!

amazing picture in my city!!!

A lot of textures and colors....
Emilie
hmmm! I thought I wouldn´t see any picture yours of Madrid Street Style ;)
kiss from madrid
I'd give anything to see her with the white undershirt tucked in. Then this look would be perfect. Well, maybe a more subdued color for the scarf. THEN this look would be perfect.
She's got a great mix of patterns. Love her style.
Madrid I love you
In my city!!!congratulations!
Love love love!!!!

Sweet, really sweet.

She is a very attractive woman but the ensemble doesnt look insouciant rather clumsy. Yet, she has carried it off somehow and as a result seems very approachable. I would certainly invite her for a Gelato in the autumn sunshine.
fabulous scarf! thanks for visitin spain :)
Finally I see a beautiful lady wearing more than two colors. :)
Excellent photo and great style! Love Madrid
I love the top, the aviators, the hair band, that great smile and then the bottom with the pants. The stuff in between I'm a bit ambivalent about.
Energie
me encanta. i used to live in spain, and i really miss the unique style of spaniards in general.
I love your blog!
Where are you from?
xoxo
LUUUUV a Woman in Ray Ban classic aviators. Its the only sunglasses anyone should wear!!!
I didn't get excited until I got to the orange on her wrist and then the whole thing came alive. There is a lot going on but she is so individual in her choices that it makes it great to me. The colors in the muffler and scarf are beautiful. I don't think she studied every item before throwing it all on and I like that, too.
I can't believe you're shooting in Spain! thnx for coming once again! :)
about this woman.. I love the mix of patterns. Wearing Across and down stripps together looks orginal and intelligent. I like the complements!
I love the blue scarf !!
C'mon Jorge! Sadlier?
I don't agree. Super stylish. Top outfit.

I love the scarf and the top. That is what really stands out besides her magnetic smile =)

now that was an easy one, scott. - ...finally someone i know.
The headband is a disaster. As well as the blue scarf, I don't think it's proper for this particular outfit. But she seems perfectly happy in what she wears and that is what matters. :)
Great one. :)
I'm one of those people who are afraid of wearing colors other than black and gray but this picture is giving me some ideas. The blue of the scarf looks great with the jacket and sweater.
Thanks for coming to Madrid. It's been a pleasure to meet you.
Dani (vintage jacket)
I love the touch of orange on the watch and bracelet.
muy bonito!!! la chica se ve super feliz !
Oh I miss Madrid... This is a cute look.
WELCOME TO MADRID SARTORIALIST!!!
we love you ;-)
MADRID LOVE YOU
Kisses from Spain:
DELIA
At least in Madrid!!!
Same as Jorge:
Unfortunately Spaniards are not excelling in style yet!! Let's wait and see next pictures from Madrid and Barcelona...
Lovely to see you in Madrid. I hope you enjoyed it! I did!
Have a nice time in Barcelona!
Emma
I don't see any planned coordination here. It appears that she just threw on a random assortment of items found on the bedroom floor.
i actually kind of miss the pleated waist, it's looking good here!
xo
Scott,
What a wonderful surprise to see you in Las Rozas Village, it made my day of shopping even better!
Keep doing a great job.
Sam.
so relaxed and cool. love it
Beautiful!!!
o i love when people mix up stripes!

lekisskiss.blogspot.com <-- two girls blogging fashion from nyc and chicago!
Its great to have you around Madrd!
Cant wait to see more pictures of some of our streetstyle!
I think style is at its best when is unpretentious and self-effacing and this is a perfect example of this. I'm loving how she assembles uncoordinated patterns, colours and textures and how they all blend effortlessly in the final look. Great shot Mr Sartorialist!
... for the socially inquisitive, this girl is Marisa Santamaria, one of the top PRs in Spain.
Albert from NYC.

Hope you have a great time in Madrid, Scott, i'm so sad I couldnt make it as I really love your work!
The outfit, gorgeous, hope you took a good sight of spanish style :)
xx
Much to love here, indeed. But I don't lika the pantalones. Too Annie Hall. But I love her of course, minor detail.
Personally, I'm not a fan of this look, but I do like her gentle smile.
The scarf with its pop of color saves the look - gives it a visual anchor.
Mi piace molto la maglione di missoni.
parfait. i sometimes wish your pictures were movies. i'd love to watch this girl as a character in a colorful story.
I love the outfit!! A little menswear...nice
Dear Scott,
On a scale of 1 to 10, I give this shot a minus 5. To be serious its a bit mish mashy in terms of colour and coordination and with absolutely no sartorial quotent what so ever! Apart from her winning smile, please do tell what it is you see thats in anyway stylish about this shot that befits your very important blog read by thousands?
Do keep up the great work Scott.....PLease!
Ana Moreno
She's adorable. I love everything but the pants.
She looks so effortlessly cool and totally comfortable! Best of both worlds!

I love this outfit. A deft hand it takes to put together multiple patterns and textures with ease and confidence. Thanks for capturing it's essence and the wearers casual vibe.
See you in Barcelona. Scott!
Did you enjoy this wonderful city?
Madrid es única
Bienvenido a España!!
I love everything she wears!!

OOHH! I love Madrid, it's so cooooool! Enjoy your time in that beautiful city!!!
Her attitude, her smile. Just great! Who cares if there is too much going on, it works!! Isn't that what it's all about?
Scott, Garance: Bon sejour en Espagne!
the best type of perfection, the kind that isnt planned or particularly thoughtout. she looks amazing from the pose to the red lip and the lighting.
I love the bravery of the blue scarf. most would be scared to throw that in with the other colors. inspirational.. here's to no more matchy match!
Like the shot and colors but terribile outfit.
I love the color combinations! Bravo!

Kind of reminds me of Shivaun that you snapped in Dublin. Beautiful picture regardless! S x.
Adorable. That beautiful head scarf is falling in love with the fall leaves.
I like how the blue scarf stands out from the yellow background. Gives me a good autumn feeling:)

A brave but very nice outfit, doesn't she resemble to Louren Hutton?

Bienvenido a España the Sartorialist!
Beautiful pic with yellow, red and blue - autumn!
I love all her clashing a bit all over the place. She looks comfortable and gorgeous. Plus she's smiling!
in its non try hard way -- its trying too hard --- its a style that is non style that too many people do these days and it does not grab me at all, however, i like the colour of her bag..
She looks fantastic...what great personality she shows!!!
i really love the mixing that's going on here
Looks just like Natalia Verbeke, great spanish actress.

Venezuelan girl from Madrid!
she looks so bohemian but in my opinion she doesn't seem to be really trendy at all. but she looks cool.
You were in my city and I wasn't there! Geez.
Here's an article about you at elmundo.es: http://www.elmundo.es/yodona/2009/11/17/moda/1258469030.html

So cool - bravo to her for mixing so many colors and textures - and what a lovely smile she has! Love this look.
Yeeeeeeeeah!!! Finally in Madrid! Wonderful pic.
gorgeous
I love your blog. Your pictures are inspiring for people to create new styles. I'm from Spain and I was so excited for your visit. However, I have to say that I'm disapointed about the picture you chose from Madrid. I'm sure that there was more lovely stylish people in your conference. Please, add more pictures and let people know that Spanish people is also stylish as people from Paris or Milan.

It's been great to have you here in Madrid!
GORGEOUS Marisa, gorgeous Madrid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It works.Smile dress her, but there are better looks in Madrid than this.

i love everything about it!
Too pretty, I love the way she paired those pen striped pants with that top!
Fabulous! And a nice title :)
love the combination of colours
daring to wear that many stripes, colors and textures doesnt make this outfit work. being "so different" doesnt make you stylish.
regardless of how happy she looks.
SCOTT likes her style, that´s all.
Me too, it´s completely different, very brave, chic and glamorous.
Olivier van Noord
That is simply fantastic. I am the biggest fan of scarf color, it's really stunning. The bag are gorgeous too.
Dafna NYC Wlkr!!
Smart way to use blue. Blue is fresh, alive and so natural and `true'.
I like the bright colored watches.
