Vogue Pelle- The Fashionistas
The first thing I did when I hit Milan was go buy the new Italian Vogue Pelle.
I shot a story for them over the Summer, and I had been dying to see it in print. The lovely Giovanna Battaglia set up the whole shoot, it was really great to work with her.
Actually one, of the high points of my career came when Franca Sozzani stopped me outside of the Men's Prada show and told me how much she liked this story. I taught myself photography poring over photos in Vogue Italia, so for her to say that was such an incredible honor.
And even better than saying she liked this story; Franca and Giovanna gave me a chance to shoot another piece for them.

highly reccommended!
Oh wow! Congrats!
Those are indeed spanking shots. These could nearly make me fall in love with leopard prints which I usually tend to use very cautiously and with extreme moderation.
perfecto, eres uno de los mejores fotógrafos que he visto que pueden lograr capturar el momento en la calle, eso es algo que no se logra con facilidad.
un abrazo desde perú.
perfect, you are one of the best photographers I've seen that can
achieve capture the moment on the street, that's something not achieved
easily.

Love, love, love. You are so incredibly talented and have such an eye.
Wow! I love leopard print so much. I love the way you called it a 'style password.' I just hope there isn't an overdose of leopard this FW...
that deck is sweeter than heaven
Leopard leopard everywhere,

I care, I care, I know I care
but don't know why I meeeow.

I adoooooooore. These are great..seriously great. You inspire me greatly, Mr. Schuman, to go out and start pursuing more of what I love.
They are great shots! The light, the motion, the place, the attitude, eveything is there. You have such talent.
Absolutely stunning and beautiful photographs...well done!
Scott. Wow. I am impressed. Deeply impressed. Your photography has grown immensely over the years. Your work and growth inspires me.

gorgeous animal print!!

Fabulous, Scott.
Nobody shoots women's legs like you do.
And they seem to be so relaxed in general for your camera.
Thanks for this post.
(BWT, you've got a word prob in the third paragraph, third line.)
1st photo - red, leopard skinny pants - last year's Balmain! I recognize it because I wanted it.....oh so much!
LOVE THESE SHOTS!
Particularly #8 - the two women with blue legs - aaaaaah.
great work, scott!

Sart, it's great to see your work in editorial format, although not surprising - you have a unique eye, I agree with everyone here who has commented on how you catch motion and spontaneity and keep it all so alive and in the moment. Do you use the same camera for these assignments?
These are outfits that can be recreated at any budget. I love a lot of the photos on here, but most of the outfits are hard to recreate on a college students budget. These, however, are not the case. Love it.
I wear leopard prints every FW, whether it's 'in' or not. Love these shots.
i love the first picture. they seem like such an unlikely pair but they work so well together.
They are so skinny, though, and too made up. That's just such a turn off to me.
Your "on the street....Central Park, N.Y" photo is BADASS. Apologies, I can't describe this photo in any other way.. But again...B.A.D.A.S.S!
YOU ARE SO TALENTED! thank you so much for sharing your beautiful art! congrats! xx
for the last 2 months i've been buying as more leopard as i could find! shoes, scarves even socks!
for me leopard may be the new stripes
These are so beautiful. I love how you capture the clothes, the models and the surroundings. It makes you want to jump into the scene and live in their world.
At last (almost) real fashion for real people!
congrats!
love the all story and at last something I believe in and I could even fall in love with the leo print....
What a lovely thing to behold in these images! They are the perfect for days which are now growing cold and gray. Looking at all of the gorgeous color, I felt as though I had just stepped away from spending time looking at some of my favorite paintings. Merci beaucoup, ecore, mon ami!
o like the idea of street-style shooting. although vogue italia is well known for its fantasy-fairy-tails shots, it looks realy good.
Each set of girls could be character designs for Cinderella's wicked stepsisters. But I think the pair in the second photo down most embody their ethos. Patsy wants her hair back, darling.
Not that it's not all terribly glamorous, mind you.
These are gorgeous, and I love that I'm still able to see your point of view in these photos.
Absolutely AMAZING!!!
Fun. Very fun! Love your blog and added you to my new blog roll.
awesome pics! You are so very talented and I appreciate your work. You truly are an inspiration.

I bought your book and i love it! Everytime i cant figure out what to wear, i will just flip over the pages and find some inspiration and it works!!
Look forward to seeing another piles of your great work!!!
wonderful pics ..super fashionistas
OMG...my knees are weak after seeing these photos!! The blue boots in the next to last photo are to die for.
Deeply impressed. Great shoot. The world looks so different with leopard prints.
Wonderful. Absolutely wonderful.
Since I was a young girl, leopard print has always been a favorite of mine. Seeing this post brought a smile to my face :]
Thanks for sharing!!

Nice photos :)
These are fabulous! J'Adore!
these are INCREDIBLE! i love the bike/skateboard one. so amazing!
Congratulations!
These photos are gorgeous! :D
Such a lovely editorial!

Great photos Scott, but I get so much more inspiration from your "street" photos- more attainable somehow. ( No disprespect mean to V Italia!)
i think real people work it so much better in your shots! :--)
great post! i adore animal prints and i will use some of your pics on my blog as a animal print feature. hope you don't mind... i'll name my sources ;)
gorgeous photos and love all the leopard print. esp love that quote about leopard being the password to the big apple, clever in its own way. keep up the great work, I really admire what you do.

Great photos!!!!!!!!!
these are works of art - just beautiful. & lovely choice of sites.
Terrific pictures - congratulations!
Can someone ID the green bag hanging on the chair in the 2nd last photo?
The styling is EXCELLENT! And ofcourse the photo's are too!
Delicious, Delightful, Raw, Exotic... Quixotic; And one more thing comes to mind, Empowering!..
Thankyou, Scott for capturing women, and highlighting fashion - so diversely, I find this particularly modern and romantic, at the same time..
Absolutely fabulous!
And I agree with the Anonymous above...the blue boots are showstoppers....
ally xoxo
These are fun--thanks for sharing them all.
damn. this is one hell of an editorial. leopard-maniac!
Love the unifying theme of all the leopard prints. But I'm just blown away by the last shot, by the heels, the umbrella hat and the magnifient silhouette of the woman on the right, by the great wit on display in the patterns on the woman on the left, and by the ways these fantastic ensembles are served up on stamped steel. Really beautiful.
i'm so happy for you scott seeing you transform your 'on the street' style into such great editorials.
well-deserved for the godfather of street style blogging!
The girl on the left in the first picture at the top is almost painfully beautiful!
ahhh... incredible...
argh, i love leopard, and i love how your shoot looks like a fashion shoot with the energy of the street injected into it. well done olwyn
London Fashion Rocks
I LOVE the leopard print bicycle helmet. Her stance reminds me of a photo you took of a redhead model on her way to an audition (?). And in the comments people were very intense about her not wearing a helmet. I absolutely love that how the helmet is incorporated into the look -- something I'm just beginning to see on the street.
Good get!
Great pix here, especially the last shot. It's nice when lots of talent comes together like this.
These photos are stunning, of course, but such an interesting contrast to your 'on the fly' signature work of actual people on the street. The truth is still more compelling: slightly frizzy hair, that fleeting "real" moment in time that you always manage to capture at a crosswalk in NYC no less. I guess I like it all, but your 'real people' have my heart and keep me coming back for more!
THOSE ONES WERE PERFECT SHOTS.
LOVE YOUR PHOTOS

What a fabulous editorial. Very creative!
this spread is amazing. I love the bold prints and eyebrows. it's like your regular style bumped up a bit. very nice.

Why are all the models white?
I love it! Congrats!
Sick deck, too bad models who can actually skate like Nicole Trunfio weren't cast. So much hotter when you shoot authentic people not posers in heels.
Yep, this is top notch! They're so rich but come across with a lot of spontaniety and ease. Digging leopard print tights out of cupboard whilst typing (hazardous...) lovely photos, thanks xxx pop

Congrats on the layout Sart - it looks amazing! will have to look out for the issue here in Sydney!
i read your interview in UK Vogue...was a great read! well done!
I vowed never to use the term but...
that's fierce!!!
Well done! Love the simple hints of sparkle and glamour you captured. Can't wait to have the magazine at hand. Congrats, keep up the good work.
incredible gorgeous and inspiring... thx for sharing.
this is absolutely exceptional. wow.
oh god I hate hate hate leopard print.
Leopard, leopard, LEOPARD!!! I love love love leopard print. Can't get enough. I've been obsessed with it for quite some time now so this wonderful leopard print extravaganza that's happening all over the fashion world is just what I have been waiting for. This shoot is absolutely fabulous. I want it all, and I want it now!!!
I was so there that day!!! Pleasure meeting you & Garance!

wow LOVE this
amazing shoot! creative and original!

Really amazing!
the girl with the leopard helmet looks rocking :)
great photos but...
to me this highlights how photos of *real* people are a billion times cooler and more interesting.
I love that the underneath of her skateboard is even leopard print! This is a fantastic set of pictures.
The shots, man, they're an assault on the senses. I particularly like the two ladies who sport possibly 20 grand worth of stuff and are lunching on two dollars worth of hot dog. Yeah, that's really going to happen. :)
Pietro
CH and LK, 12:09pm... I would have thought that sudden widespread acceptance of an article by mainstream would be the source of untold grief for someone who had an affinity for that article and proudly displayed it prior to its acceptance by the heaving throngs.
You will now find yourself less inclined to wear leopard print, I am certain.
Pietro
this is fantastic! congrats (:

AMAZING! WELL DONE!
Really fun.
The no-eyebrows look in # 5 is sooooo unflattering.
the more your career has advanced, the more detached you have become from street style as worn by a diversity of real people.
i'm sure you have a successful future ahead, but my interest is waning.
for Johnm
so are you going to admit when you are wrong?
if anything i am getting back closer to street style but you have to actually open your eyes to see that
You are living my dream, and the dream of every other aspiring fashion photographer out there, every sixteen year old kid just trying to hit it big. Keep up your blog, it encourages us all. It gives us the hope, the hope that one day, just maybe, we will be where you are.
holy moly, these shots are so you. So 'the satorialist'! Very cool!
Gasp! Oh! What a beautiful photograph. And Chanel...ahhhh! I wish I could add italics.
I guess I am two years ahead of the curve hehe..Great crisp photos by the way. Every shot is a gem.
my word verification is: flaring
how random :P
i love the leopard bag in the first photo !!
these are so true ! i love this spread !
This is amazing! I was actually on 5th avenue when you shot this story last summer, specifically following when you shot the 2nd spread. If i remember correctly, this is by FAO Schwartz and the Apple store! I remember feeling bad for the models because it was so humid then!
