Blogger Anna said ... (5:09 PM) :

Is that the new Marc Jacobs dress?

Blogger The Vintage Scene said ... (5:09 PM) :

Ladylike and lovely.

Blogger Rosalind said ... (5:09 PM) :

Beautiful pattern on the dress! I like how the classic shape has had a more modern print juxtaposed on it.
The addition of a classic bag and shoes just make sit even better!
Inspiring, as always. Do you have any tips for people who are trying to get into street style photography themselves?

Beautiful, elegant style that you have captured here. Also, i love the way you handle light in your photography.

Anonymous Meadow said ... (5:35 PM) :

what a chic look! i love it when women look like "women", in the classic old school Sophia Loren kind of way.

Blogger timinoc said ... (5:36 PM) :

So chic. I love the restraint of the shoes - no over-the-top platform, strapped-up ridiculousness for her. Classics, proportion and taste always rule the day. Does she have a bit of Anne Bancroft or Catherine Keener about her?

Blogger Gerund O'Malley said ... (6:57 PM) :

I love the composition of this shot - her placement between the buildings, the monotone blocks and perpendicular lines contrasting with the pattern on her dress and the relaxed curves of her timelessly elegant stance.

Blogger Joy Mars said ... (7:03 PM) :

Chic. Effortless perfection. The shape of the heels is brilliant.

Blogger Singapore Short Stories said ... (7:16 PM) :

There is this laid-back charm about the lady.

This woman should give posture lessons to all the young slumping slouching quasi-beauties. Her posture helps her look poised, confident, and elegant.

Blogger Don said ... (9:20 PM) :

I like the pattern. Casual yet chic.

Blogger Lou said ... (9:36 PM) :

Her posture would make about anything look chic. You can't not look at her. Her gaze, her smile: all other things fall away - however wonderful they are tough. She's got IT. A very gentle charisma.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:30 PM) :

is it a birkin bag?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:34 PM) :

That bag definitely appears to be Hermes, let me know anyone if you agree or disagree, I like it nonetheless. Love the total ensemble, seems to just be something she threw on--effortlessly classic. I love it when it people make it look so easy like they don't try at all.

Such timeless elegance! Sometimes i look at a shot like this and have to stop to wonder what is it that makes the person so attractive. It's not just the outfits. It has become a part of them.

i did lot of googling past couple of days and found some botiques with expensive shoe collections the one i am very interested is a very little known brand Monkees and i I fell in love with this shoe Frye DEBORAH STUDDED, i looked around on Google and find one in stock at http://www.buymonkees.com website but the price is $640.00 is this reasonable?

Any suggestion guys???
Thanks

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:29 AM) :

I think the photo is lovely (location, lighting etc ), but the outfit is just so blah...the dress is very average, a bit of a bargain basement print if you ask me....and the shoes? so boring.

Blogger la flore et la faune said ... (3:43 AM) :

J'aime beaucoup son regard.
Quelle allure, la donna.

Anonymous Jolene said ... (6:01 AM) :

She looks great! I wish I could look that good at her age. (I'd wear shoes that were more 'of the moment', I think.)

Given that, she's got great proportions. The lottery of genetics have given long limbs. Her arms look fabulous.

Anonymous him said ... (6:14 AM) :

Roger Vivier shoes are so pretty they can be identified easily. classic and elegant!

Blogger libelulaseneldesierto said ... (6:30 AM) :

less is more!

Blogger Cameron Adams said ... (7:18 AM) :

Women of a certain age benefit from such timeless, classic elegance, yet she makes it look original. That is style.

Anonymous Charlotte K said ... (7:39 AM) :

so pretty - and not overdone. love it!

Anonymous Catherine like Deneuve said ... (10:12 AM) :

Simple dress that looks comfortable without being slouchy. Natural hair, natural makeup. No bling whatsoever, but she would make heads turn anywhere.
The perfect posture is the best accessory of all.

Sart, please give us some cold-weather pics. I love to experiment based on inspiration from here, but this shot just won't do it, even in the south of France, where I am wearing two sweaters and sitting by a space heater.

Blogger Couture Coco said ... (10:12 AM) :

ADORE her simple, elegant sophistication. She has STYLE!

Blogger Allen - East Hampton said ... (10:24 AM) :

Blogger Cate O'Malley said ... (1:11 PM) :

What a sly grin. It makes me wonder what she's thinking.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:23 PM) :

I am secretly so very tired of all these photos fashionistas with 6 inch heels during the day, in the street. Power to them if they can do it all day, every day, but it´s become both obvious and a bit ridiculous. Well, their choice. But these heels I find really charming, the shape is much more interesting than height!

Blogger chula said ... (2:42 PM) :

we adore to wear women like her... much more sensual than any teenager;-)
so chula...

Blogger Miguel said ... (3:46 PM) :

I believe the dress is from Ann Taylor... Might be mistaken... My ex-wife has it, I believe.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:57 PM) :

That's how a woman of her age should be dressed. Not dowdy. Not showing too much skin. Just elegant and understated. Nicely tanned I might add.

Blogger mia said ... (5:02 PM) :

fantastic dress, lovely bag.

Blogger sofiasophie said ... (5:24 PM) :

love her dries!

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:08 PM) :

Superb, feminine and sexy, you only see this in Italy!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:58 AM) :

Classy Albertina!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:48 PM) :

Yeah, maybe it is a Birkin. so what? Walk Madison Avenue and you'll see they're a dime a dozen. Hermes flooded the market with them this past year. Go into any Hermes store, there are at least 30Birkins in the back room. Have you read the recent financial postings of Hermes? Scarves down 35%. Fragrance down 27%. Watches down 30%. Handbags UP 23%. Why do you think that is? Because Hermes suddenly made the Birkin available to any and all. Duh!

Blogger Eve Wetlaufer said ... (11:44 PM) :

The contrast between the light, washed out backround and the womans saturated color is beautiful. Love, love, love.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:30 PM) :

i like her style!

Blogger Leslie said ... (10:20 PM) :

She's a great-looking woman in her 50s. More, please. A bit tired of all the fab 20-somethings. As if that's a big deal. Show us more women who stay fit and fabulous. And don't feel the need to wear platforms, minis, and lycra to prove it. Perhaps the outfit doesn't look as fabulous at other angles, but it's great here. Love the shoes. Chic yet comfortable. The hair... nice, but again, the angle is fabulous.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:12 PM) :

wow! what a lady, and what a smile.

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:53 PM) :

You gotta love a woman in pumps:)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:22 PM) :
