Comments on "On the Street....Unbuttoned Elegance, Milano"
Under that jacket the gingam shirt doesn't work ...maybe a unit color would be better.
I love the grey trousers....And you can never go wrong with gingham!
Good style!! I like to wear cuffs and collar unbuttoned, is cool!!
What is not to love about a sharp dressed man! The gingham shirt is a wonderful contrast to the conservative blues. Bello!
What a great, casual look.
lovely!

everything is so clean
and the watch is the perfect size
not hideously big
there is something so cool about this combination. elegant but with that checked shirt adding a kick to the whole ensemble. i can keep looking at this. i love it.
Thats not on the street..
so smart
http://garciamadrid.blogspot.com/
dashing.
I've always been a fan of this look... I don't like ties THAT much so whenever I can wear the shirt unbuttoned I have a sense of freedom
Love the combination, especially the blueish / gray slacks which look like subtle plaid (?). Where are the shoes?
loooooove the shirt, that's what boys used to wear as uniform in romania in elementary school sopme years ago :)
Classic ,yet very elegant...blue and grey always work well
Such a classy look. And I really like there is not a lot of chest hair going on;P

how do people get to be like this? just perfect. i wonder what his voice sounds like?
this man NEVER has an off day!
Stefano Tonchi, T magazine editor
to the earlier post, check hair is not such a bad thing you know. most men have it, and most non-american women love it. why there is such a taboo on chest hair in this culture is curious.
I like his shirt!
Gingham, like seersucker, always looks fresh and smart.
Can we get some fall wardrobes now, Scott? Baby, it's getting cold outside!
Quite stylish! Love his hair.
Classi... Love the watch.
love it! the necklace is great!
andrea ball
love the necklace!!!!!
it works! love the shirt pattern. i could live in that pattern.
Classic look. Could have picked it all up at Brooks Brothers.
So simple yet so elegant! It says light and springy but with winter cools, good job!
you'll find I will say this a lot for every outfit, I think he needs a hat! A gray fedora with a 1 inch brim would be a nice touch.
I am dying to see the shoes though!
This man Stefano has great flair and he is one of your more fascinating subjects; he looks the role of a pensive, well-dressed planner of sorts.
Terrific look--perfect for day, and a great way to inject casual fun into the ensemble.
very stylish, elegant mix with casual, Stefano Tonchi, always best dressed man on the fashion shows.
more androgynous than the strange bowlcut chick from a few pics back
I just love this old school style, with rebellious unbuttoning bringing it to the 21st century. Crisp looking shirt, sharp looking eyes!
I am not really sure....
Another great example of Stefano Tonchi's sense of sprezzatura
cool & wearable. But the unbuttoned cuff is an affectation that kills sprezzatura. Why so many people doing it now? like the unbuttoned button down shirt.
be original, be yourself!
Monkini
Elegance!
To clerify: I do like men with hairy chest, just don't like hairy chest with open shirt:)
His look is so sharp and lux!

hmm, is it me or is there something kinda kd lang about him?
love the color of the jacket and the pants
I love how the whole gingham and the sport coat get along so well with his grey trousers. Has a somewhat transitional fall feel to it. Good job spotting him Sart. The only thing wrong with the look is the attempt at the unbuttoned casual feel. I usually like the unbuttoned imperfect look but I'm not feeling it on this man. His shirt looks too floppy.
Love this look.
Sharp.
Sophisticated.
And a very elegant watch.
I think the whole outfit is fantastic and classic. It that a DB blazer?

elegant.
Classic, simple style, yes, but I'm surprised that no one commented on the double-breasted jacket and the manner in which the open collar provides a perfect counterpoint to the peaks on the jacket. It is always interesting to me to note how a simple invocation of a little geometry achieves a heightened stylistic effect. Also, the color story here is one of understated elegance: silver, gray and a touch of white-all of which are amplified by the color of his hair and his eyes, two assets which astute dressers always seek to take advantage of.
One word: ELEGANT
Perfectly turned out!
Scott, come to Naples too, it's another point of fashion view :-)
Can't get enough of the palette.
phwoar! - the clothes and the man
re NAPLES...yeh Nalples is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.....nomadic artists, and an inherited 50/60s understanding of style- especially the older generation and uniformed people..
Elegant...
He's lovely to look at, but that photo is not from the street, as someone already pointed out, this was taken at a fashion show. Apparently he's a well-known fashion editor, and although very lovely to look at, I miss your great finds, those people who aren't in the industry...
rolex datejust watch
Stefano Tonchi is hotness
Hiiiiii
Good style!! He's lovely to look at.
woohoo thats how I like it! The people posting the better
Almost perfect. The watch is a tiny bit too much, I know you agree!
~M
The pants just do it for me. Although you can tell that the shirt was the base/ foundation of the get up.
Mr. Tonchi is excellent and the person closest to my own style.
an impeccable looking man is not attractive to me at all.
A very handsome guy, I think...smiles.
What I love about his style, that he combines classical and casual elements:
double- breasted jacket: left open
checked shirt: open cuffs, open collar
light grey trousers... nice with dark blue jacket and the timeless silver watch
This style simply funtions!Nice!
so elegant !
a very cary grant-ish look.
I like his look, especially the checked shirt and grey pants.
This is how a man should look.
I think Stephano achieved a clean yet sporty look with the gingham shirt and the very dressy grey trousers. Throw on a navy blazer and you could go anywhere!
This guy Stefano looks so much like an ex-Italian boyfriend of mine whom I adored with desperation... Keep up the good work at T.
who is the guy???

A colleague out of the Belgian office visited one day in a light grey suit and orange gingham shirt. Terrific combination. And, as only Europeans seem able to do, made the suit look relaxed and natural.
this is an amazing look. the casual gingham never looked more elegant!

oh, yum.
Is this the gentleman from The Times? I love seeing him sans bow/tie!
Perfectly turned out! :)
Could have picked it all up at Brooks Brothers.
I'm flabbergasted! This is the first photo I've seen of him sans tie. I like itttt...
