Comments on "On the Street....Rue St. Honoré, Paris"
Those jacket pockets look filled!
Ah ! En voilà un original !
my goodness...
amazing
Love this! Anyone else reminded of Simon Callow in that Four Weddings movie?
my goodness, he is a colorful gent.
I like it - makes me happy - and I
love the jacket
Love the eccentric look this man is sporting. C'est magnifique!
power colour!
va-va-voom
absolute perfection.
absolutely incredible color combination, great sunglasses and attitude - "yes i'm fly"
Great great style. Is this the gentleman that you've photographed over the years from Ralph Lauren?
Love this picture. Love the eccentricity and love the smoke captued in this picture. The man plays off the word "cool" in style.
Why do I think he is an impressionist painter?? LOL love his style!
Love Looove the combination especially the scarve!
Love the scarf but the pants look undone??
Love the scarf but the pants look "undone".

OMG! So good! I LOVE THOSE GLASSES!
Simply fabulous.
Love it! You know he's an artist or someone who enjoys rocking the boat.
I love the beads on his reading glasses...Quelle homme!
love it!! The smoke creates a shape of a "ghost parrot" sitting on his shoulder ;) haha
it seems like you live on this street- i would love to one day...o to dream...

Fantastic! I want to hear his life stories.
Haha, I like!
That pic is simply amazing!

Funky Santa!
oh my gosh, LOVE IT!
www.FashionSnag.com
Yes! It never ceases to amaze me that I can fall in love with someone from a photograph, but it's true...I love him!
amazing use of colour!
great shot
Don't call me Santa!
He has the sun in the heart.
I absolutely love this man. He must have amazing stories.
Wow-so colourful. I love this guy :)
xx
This looks so much like how my grandfather used to dress. He was the type of man that really didnt care how people looked at him or what they thought, as long as he was looking bright because he knew that atleast someone would get a smile from looking at him :)
All the exciting looking men i see are invariably only on The Sartorialist.
epic
Next book cover.
so many things going on, and he still owns this look.
Ahh, so colorful and fun! :) Love the glasses!
VERY cool hat and the jacket is interesting too. But the rest? I think he is trying just a little too hard.
omgosh he looks so quirky ! :D like father christmas on vacation. hahaha
That is so so marvellous! It made me grin, I went away, came back a bit later, and grinned again!
If I get to be this old, this is exactly how I want to look.
Absolutely crazy !
i wish he could be my grandpa...love that attitude.
amazing... full live I just love the authenticity and the mixture between brown traditionat shades and the life that brings those patterns and colours from scarf and vest... but most of all is unique
what an absolutely wondrous splash of colors!!
You can't NOT smile. Seriously. :D
What a vision! His stance, his pants, his vest, sunglasses and reading glasses on a chain, his beard, pockets on his jacket, the scarf, etc.
I would do a double take if I saw him while walking down the street.
Also, like the effect of smoke behind him, fitting for his cigar.
one for the inspiration wall
oh my my !! so colorful .. yet seems so perfectly balanced !
i hope i still feel this passion for what i wear when i'm that age.
i want to be just like him when i grow up.
COLOURS, ADORABLE. JOLLY. CUTE !
Can you dig it? I knew you could.
un homme avec joie de vivre
(did I say that correctly?)
Oh My God!
Lovely pic* .
I am in love with this. There are so many funny contradictions in his style. The modern reflective sunglasses with the weaved hat and the classic beard. Then the readers around his neck and the waistcoat and the cargo pants and i could go on and on. What it tells me is that this person in incredibly confidant in their own style. It's not bravery at that point, it's their own set of rules.
Another light- and detail-filled success. The cigar and its smoke, the hat, the lenses' reflection, the accessories and different shades of neutral. Great work. So much fun to look at.
either he's a frequent traveller or his twin must be living in Milano, cannot be explained otherwise
http://thesartorialist.blogspot.com/2009/09/on-streetone-more-time-milano.html
K.K.M.
now THAT is style!
I especially love the waistcoat and the mirror glasses LOL
You are never too old to be in style.
Wonderful! Just wonderful, really does remind one of Simon Callow, he was such a life indulging character, a lovely attribute.
this gentleman is sooo cool!
oh, my goodness, that is ME in about 10 years. finally, a picture of somebody i totally "get"!
HE HAS STYLE .... he is soooo gorgeous ... saludos from Chile ...
wow! - Amazing!
amazing dude!
WHERE did he get his brilliant scarf?!
Now that’s attitude!
So Santa hangs out in Paris on his off-time....
What a jolly old soul!
LOVE
Now THAT's style. Skinny, 20-something women in slim pants and high heels don't face much of a challenge. But a man of a certain age who creates a look that is uniquely his own and says "I have lived through at least 4 or 5 decades and you better believe I can rock a bright scarf, beaded glasses and full beard without irony," deserves applause. Four stars my friend. Well played! God I hope men my age learn to do this over the next couple of decades.
Oh yes If I didnt know him Id certainly want to meet him! :-) Jack
awesome.
best moment you could took this photo!
(your mirrowed shadow in the man's sunglasses is pretty too ;D)
personality....lots of personality.
Belíssimo. Tão descontraído e com tanto estilo!
love him right away!
perhaps because of the colors, i've got an impression he's a very welcoming gentleman!
Who wouldn't like to know this colorful gent..?
FOR SOME REASON I DONT KNOW, THE CLOTHS JUST MAKES HIM LOOK CLASSY.
the first word that popped into my head was "buffoon" -- but only in an adorable way.
Guapísimo!!
Oh puhleeeeez.....
amazing use of colour here, and i'm so loving his glasses :) ♥
This man is Wanni DiFillippo and he owns Il Bisonte. I once got to visit his offices in Florence that are in the carriage houses of a Palace...that he was helping to renovate. Inspiring and intimidating at the same time.
Finally some interesting character outside of the typical fashion weekers.
That man is perfect!
Is this your Halloween posting? Is that ectoplasm forming over his left shoulder?? I know, I know it's smoke.
He's quite a character and could appear at my Halloween party anytime.
love this!
you have to have a look at this site:
http://www.herrvoneden.com/
i want to be friends with this guy! hes so original
they come runnin' just as fast as they can / 'cause every girl's crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man
Oh hell yes.
all of these colors are amazing I recently found your blog while looking for fashion blogs I'm overwhelmed with all the great pictures you have there inspiring
-erika
Way to freshen up that Hemingway look! Which normally I hate. I love it here. What fun.
What a great combination of colors & details.
So nice to see someone who has fun with color without blowing it.
Terrific!
If I could find those reading glasses, I'd buy them.....
trying hard is common on these pages - doing it with a sense of humour, less so - good fun
Twenty-First Century Impressionist..!
wow! love those shades!
Reminds me of Stanley Marcus - of Neiman Marcus - may he RIP...

Hahahaha, I love it!!
What a light he shines! He makes me smile BIG!!!
This man is amazing, like Hunter S. Thompson's wacky uncle!
ganymedekids.blogspot.com
The ghost parrot comment above was right on. This man is magical
Words can't describe how much I am in love with this man's style...
AAAH- so PERFECT!
I saw R. Crumb last night at an event. He lives in France now, and he held forth on the french male.
This pic is a perfect example of what he was saying. It is the male in France who is the one who is looked at. Even though women get dressed to the nines, it is the male who must be given props or nothing ensues.
I am definitely looking at this guy. What else does he get himself up to?
A bit too Jerry Garcia. Lose that scarf and the vest, keep the funky specs for a splash of color.
fabulous
I love this guy!
Love the scarf, waistcoat and glasses on the string. The scarf really makes all the other colours POP!!
http://sequinsandbangles.blogspot.com
man, you can't even touch this guy. he rules.
he looks fun,haha
Oh Wow! I am beginning to agree with the woman who said that all the most interesting-looking men seem to exist only on The Sartorialist...
colorful outfit with colorful attitude.
i like the glasses (both), the scarf, the hat, the beard, the cigar...everything.:)
i bet he has a very exciting (and colorful) life story to tell. i would LOVE to hear it!
http://absinthrill.blogspot.com
Kris Kringle via van Noten. Ho ho ho, he's divine!
x
Great, great photo. Love the beard, the hat, the scarf, the vest, the plume of smoke behind him and those blue shades!! Just amazing.
Meh. The hallmark of a beautifully put-together look, for me, is effortlessness. Casual, unstudied. Graceful, exquisite. His outfit is the opposite of unstudied; it looks very deliberate indeed, almost costumey. I'm not a fan.
Wow, I aspire to be like him.
i like that was posted earlier:
"If I get to be this old, this is exactly how I want to look".
and i hope i get courage and will shed off all these 'rules' i set for myself how to look and be dressed "appropriate", when i reach his age! - well, not much left, i'd better hurry! ;-)
i'd love to meet this guy, and have a nice chat tet-a-tet!
a bientot!
thanks for great pic! its always nice to see and meet nice, out of ordinary people!
adorable!
http://loveyourfabulousself.blogspot.com/

This picture is glorious!
What a grand beard :)
f*cking fabulous
hehhehhehhehhehheh!!! I like!!!
Looking like a cute version of Il Duce of "The Boondock Saints"
Eccentric flavor.
sensacional o vovô :-)
Mamamia!
What a style!
Wanni!
Fantastic shot. The light, the reflection, the smoke, the colours!
My favorite....wow. Perfect look. Even the glasses around his neck are colorful!!
This is the owner and founder of the Italian leather goods company called Il Bisonte. Vanni definitely has style!
he is fantastic!!
He's so COOL! love it!
He's so cute! Swear! He pull off the outfit so well.

oh my goodness is his lighter in a holder? that's fantastic. he has such a great "what are you lookin' at" vibe.
I like it very much.
kisses
Ha ha ha!
The color variation in this picture is epic. I love the glasses, they are so awesome. My other favorite part, is how you captured the billow of smoke at just the right moment....
http://richlilpoorgirl.blogspot.com
this to me represents everything im trying to aim for.
not conforming to any set 'rules'. just doing what feels natural. kinda like an extension of your own self. it all comes from the inside.
hope thats me when im old and grey. maturing in style and all things associated.
brilliant picture.
so that`s where santa goes when the christmas are over!
greetings
i love th black vest! he sure has some great foresight t come up w this, genius!
www.jetblackdye.blogspot.com
my sight was drawn to the glasses. I suppose this is because in his pose: the red scarf create two convergent lines pointing those big blue rounded mirrors.
Does he also have a small scarf knotted at the neck?
IIIIIIITTTTTTT'S WANNNY!
you can't miss him with that vest and beard! he just screams craftsman/artisan and his il bisonte products are so amazing...love him! he looks so vibrant :)
That's panache. I love the jacket.
Woh! It's amazing!
Sart - You've done it yet again.
What a lovely photograph. It seems you've caught the essence of this moment!
Love the reflection in his glasses, great moment.
This could be my husband! French, beard, cigar, hat and clothing that's totally farfelu! I just LOVE him..........what a character. A little too much, though - if he were my husband I'd have suggested he lose the scarf, but hey, why not?
I think that you've photograent beforephed this gent before. Here, the flowered muffler is a little much with the vest and the neckerchief. The rest looks great.
mon grand-père!!!
Really good, I know this street and I love it.
Do you know "Colette" shop center ?
so genius.
Isn't that the dude from Ralph Lauren yet again??? The one that previously chanelled Tramp Chic.
He looks like Ernest Hemmingway meets Wavy Gravy.

What happened to the reflection of Scott in the sunglasses? Fascinating! Love this shot!
"The magical mystery tour is coming to take you away...."
What is my husband doing on the streets of Paris?
GREAT photo! Love him. Dude is awesome.
Wow what a great post......................
perfect! jacket, pants, waistcoat ,and the colors! The gentleman is great! i like the parisien attitude and allure!
I WANT TO KNOW YOU SIR.
Why does this make me think that Santa Claus was trying to go incognito at Mardi Gras... that must be the cigar and colorfulness that are making me think of mardi gras...Loves it!
haha this style is creative and funny at the same time
http://lejclassics.blogspot.com
xx
I really want to take him home, or at least his clothes. Happy picture :D
www.myosotisnoir.blogspot.com
I love the playfulness. He would be fun to chat with I'm sure.
What a gentleman. I bet he'd have some stories :)
i love this man. i want to get to know him. amazing, yet again!
It would be fun to be a fly on the wall while he picked out this wardrobe! I swear if he came up to me and said he would draw me naked, I´d drop everything!
.....I'm into a very personalized style.....this one's a notch too far for me but what the hell....he's a character.
This has to be the one and only Darrel Radcliffe Osborne!
This man is INCREDIBLE!
One day in the future- my friends and I will evolve into characters such as this magnificent gentleman, and we'll laugh and drink wine on the rooftops of our villas over looking the Siene and everything will be okay in the world. What an inspiration!
I would buy LSD from this man if he had some to sell...
such a wonderful juxtapostion of colours, patterns and textures. absolutly love it X
Love the picture!
Whats with the sunglasses, still he does look cool.
this man is a real man, he seems a day of sun
he is ab fab :)

next time I am in Paris I would love to run into this man, he seems so interesting! That being said his style is like no other, and I love the splash of colors with the neutral beige its like psychedelic professor meets impressionist archaeologist...I LOVE IT:)
this is the most flamboyant santa claus I've ever seen.
this could be absolutley unappropriate for his age... and it actually turned out really fun. Its nice layered, playful, the scarf looks like ..oh ill borrow this from my wife.... i think he had a good time this day.... ppl dressed up like this make my days brighter and happier.... learn from him ppl....bravo sir!
I really like him to be my stylish grandfather...what an orginal!
There you see how much a scarf can changes one's look. The man has great taste but the scarf makes the difference.
fantastique!
This is Derrel Osborn who used to be a Neiman Marcus.
A fantastic gentleman.
Sure looks like Derrill Osborn, late of N-M.
He sure looks like my husband.
Hi....
This is such an amazing picture. The colourful scarf really makes it. Fuck yeah
I thrifted this vest about 6 years ago from a thrift store in a God forsaken town in Romania. Never knew its story but now that i see it here i might take it again out for a stroll! .. Love it <3
