Comments on "On the Street....New Museum, NYC"
Jeff!!!!!!!!
You should take more pictures of the "gothninja look". I love this style and his is no exception. I love how he is able to combine different shades of black(especially that cardigan <3) and topping it off by contrasting it with the white from his Rick Owens high tops!
I see The Quick and the Dead book in the background, great exhibit at the Walker Art Center - minneapolis!!
Should have worn them cool Rick Owens boots lace-less, as in the runway pics~
those sneakers are insaneee
love how his messing with proportions and layers, fall is a great season sighhh

Does anyone know the brand of these high tops?
Oh Wow, I love the shoeware! I think they're Rick Owens's this season's too..thats the good stuff!
love various shades of the same color. great murse! shirt's a bit lengthy though..
love, he has great taste!
Will have to check out Rick Owens in NYC next month. Love the way the white soles caught my attention first and the laces drew my eye up to the layers of black. Very nice!!
Enjoyed meeting you in DC Monday at Masa14, thanks for coming!

1 of 2 times I have seen these kicks work well. Not a fan of the bag though.
I just received The Sartorialist, book version. It is perfect, so many of my favorite shots mixed with new ones to discover in a compact size yet generous with photos. Having the mirror of your website in book form is awesome because now I don't have to print out my favorite shots to put up on my bulletin board. It's a complete reflection of the eye of the photographer. Now if only we can have Garance's book.
omg he looks really amazing---i saw these shoes before and looked at the price i almost cried cause i can't afford it. but they are amazing and expensive
love love love the sneakers
GOD-LIKE GENIUS AWARD
LOVE THE PLAIN AND BIG SNEAKERS.. JUST SO GREAT.

jefske! you do love your shoes.
Those shoes are on another level.I also love the subtlety of the layers. A nice elongated look.
love the shoes. The bag has to go.
Jeff is a rad photographer, too. Check out his work at www.jefske.com
Me encanta!!
so rick!! love it
Love the sneakers : )

i <3 rick owens
(nice bag)
very nice and subtle. who made that mag?!?
Maybe I'm too old to understand the Gothninja look (37- though I def get goth), but when I see this look- I can't help it- I immediately see Dylan Klebold. Maybe if there hadn't been a Columbine I'd see the Matrix, but something about it just evokes - depressed person hiding himself under big coat. Sorry. I'm sure the sneakers are the latest, edgiest shoes though.
Nice kicks. Not so sure about that coat though. Is it a bathrobe?

Lovely top half, ruined by the bottom half. I find it hard to praise those shoes or trousers; there's nothing elegant or attractive about them, they just serve to make him look a little more like a spaceman.
What a wonderful coincidence: I've seen an other kind of "New Museum" on a blog called Advanced Style...
You should have a look !
Rose.
wow this photo totally brings me back to NY. By the way, the new museum is amazing for anyone who is interested in contemporary art.
As for the laceless comment about the hi tops, that does look good but I didn't want to break the shoes in like that.
thx for the photo Mr S.
good memories.
ps. the gothninja comment is also very fitting, I think I was planning to do a lot of walking that day which is why I wore the trackies for practical reasons. :)
I like his shoes.
I love the Rick Owens style looks, especially on the guys. This is the perfect balence of texture and colour!

Great picture, I like how sparse the architecture of the building is, it provides the perfect background, with all that glass! Love the sneakers, although I have long had a pet peeve with boots that have all those laces AND THEN have a zipper on the side, like these ones. Shall we have laces OR a zipper? It feels like cheating- a designer should be true to the garment, and wouldnt it be funny if a corset or a bustier had all those intricate laces that were originally designed to drive a lover crazy, but then it had a zipper for a quickie? No, no, no
I like the clothes, they go well with a slim person. The bag, IMHO, would be better on a woman, typically I like more structured bags for men, but I have to agree that it goes with the outfit. Jorge from WPB

great outfit!! ;)
It almost looks like he is a Rick Owens Mannequin! Amazing look, Untidy but Clean! I love it!
So chic, I love so much the outfit.
I really love this, completely effortless.
I love this style, so different and modern , lovely!
jeff! yes! super kewl as always :)

Like it! The outfit, the style, so simple!
That's a rare thing when you first see a person, not an outfit. I'd like to see more people like him in this blog.
this is so hot!!
i'd love to see guys dress like that around me :)
Everyone comments about the kicks (which are very cool) but the pants are amazing with the shoes! The black fabric on the thighs and being tucked in to the top of his sneakers is the key to the ensemble in my unjustified opinion.
CB
oh I like this!
Black is kind of boring. I see so many people wearing black as if it's meant to look dressy. Kind of a lack of imagination.
Wish there was more "gothninja" on here. Jeff does it so well.
Are those pockets as long as they appear to be, or is that just a shadow? It looks like he could fit wine bottles in them! It also looks like there are big patches on the front of pants, and then some black fabric behind the legs...there's all kinds of crazy stuff going on here! It's deceptively simple, all these dark colors.
wow, it really does nothing for me at all. Like being draped with so many Hefty bags while wearing Robert Smith's hightops. sorry Jeff, I'm sure you're a swell guy.
he looks so sad.
inspiring
& very stylish!
Great shoes.
great picture. love the colors.
@tundrababe: yeah, Rick Owens is all about the details. his colors won't shock you but his details will grab you.
the shoes. of course i love the shoes. i own a pair and it's my current favorite!
great style!
Loves it!
Cheer up, little dude--its not that bad.
its so fitting that he's standing in front of Sanaa's New Museum. LOVE!
I like the inexpensive chicness of the look.
If it wasn't for the bag it would be perfect. I like his expression, I don't think he looks sad - he looks like he's about to smile. Nervously.

it actually takes effort to match black on black on black if you want to do it right like this gentlemen here. not all black are the same as some black carries with it a tinge of green or tinge of blue or tinge of purple, etc. then you also have to consider texture and fabric. so one has to be careful to get the right types of black together.
when done right, it looks like he just threw a bunch of blacks together, but done wrong, he probably wouldn't have made it on the sartorialist blog to begin with.
Adore this photo for the contrast in the dark masculine colours and the glass/steel/cement background with the softness of the bag and jersey material, his expression and cupid bow lips!
Brilliant...I'd rock this any day, just wish i could afford those kicks!!!
I LOVE the Rick Owens sneaks...is that ALL rick? of who makes that bag? SUCH a great look!
- 21arrondissement.com
He looks really short because of how long his sweaters are and how high his sneakers are. But i love his murse.
the bag is by a little new zealand label called deadly ponies.
you can find them on http://deadlyponies.com/
i had way too much stuff in it on the day, it is not meant to be that full looking normally fyi.
It is not the bag, Jefsky.
Pietro
Love this. Love the colour. Love the bag.
Why am I getting the feeling that this is the way everyone will dress in another 20 years? I mean, to board meetings.
ooh i like this whole feel going on for th look, asians f th win he he !!!!
He looks familiar for me! Oh well I love his whole look, and those sneakers are so hot!

Oh I thought they were Y-3 shoes !
Strange but good style indeed
Joy Mars, hopefully not. I am certain the suit will stay a staple in any businessman's wardrobe regardless of goths, emos and vampires lurking central business districts. And if ever boardrooms will look like the set of The Matrix meet Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, that will be all the more reason for gentlemen such as I to wear suits.
Pietro
Does his jacket have padded shoulders. On a dude?!
his outfit makes him look a bit short.. but i do love that cardigan.
the only interesting look that's been posted in a while.
Jeff always looks amazing! Love the Deadly Ponies bag
is the padded shoulder and purse look in for guys now?
I love love love this. Pure perfection. The layers, shapes, and colours are all delightful. And his haircut seals the deal. Now this is why I love the Sartorialist.
That cardigan do really look comfortable
I'm in your Eisenberg and Feinstein building, being a ninja!
Those sneakers are sick....im not a black/dark garments kinda person.... but sometimes i dig it.... give these shoes to me....
where are these pants from!? i cant find em anywhere and I am absolutely in love
The Ricky trainers are THE most comfortable and most amazing sneakers. Too bad the staples come out in the back and split the sole :(
