The choice of color here and the plaid pattern is great. I would definitely dress like this if I wasn't a woman.

Blogger Soren Lorensen said ... (1:20 PM) :

1. that is a beautiful title

2. he is (is he?) almost, and perhaps accidentally, wearing the colours if the suffragettes.

Blogger Brummagem Joe said ... (1:20 PM) :

This is a fantastic look. Lots of colors but only one patterned item. The purple cardigan and grey knit tie look great together. It's a very studied look but because he knows what he's doing he's a able to pull it off. Once again this is how it's done. No silly gimmicks, just casual elegance.

Anonymous Alessandro said ... (1:20 PM) :

Apart from the colorful ensemble, lovely cut of the jacket, mix of textures which is excatly how I like to dress, I really like the photograph in the way it captures Luca's expression. The colorful outfit is betrayed by a very introspective gaze, a thoughtful look; the picture might be entitled 'creative intelligence' or 'colorful meditation'. I have a feeling Luca thinks as originally as he dresses.

wow...Alexander Julian circa 1990 reemerges from hiding! love the COLOURS!!!!!!!

Anonymous Ping Chu said ... (1:28 PM) :

I don't know if the color of purple over green complementing each other. However, I think it is this boldness of using colors that catch people's attention. It is a strong statement. Power to him if this is part of his daily fashion statement.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:34 PM) :

This is an off day, buddy, I love color too, but the lavender and green are too much. Nice brown cords would be like damn, even a rich brown sweater with the green pants would be nice. But as is, I am looking for the floppy red shoes. Does he have a squirter in his pocket square?

I love this man! What a look!!!! Those pants do it for me. And the neutrality of the tie lets it all work. Ah! Love it soooo.

Anonymous Joseph said ... (1:57 PM) :

aside from the courageous and beautiful combination, the single buttoned cardigan makes it so chic, so cool and so so elegant.

Blogger luckybastard said ... (2:16 PM) :

i think it's off. absolutely love the cardigan. think the cut of the shoulder is off on the jacket. the colors are a little bit overpowering too. the green pants overpower an already bold cardigan and jacket. i dunno. i love the pieces but they look nearly a mess together.

Blogger alastair said ... (2:23 PM) :

Bold colour choice, no doubt about that. Not really feeling it myself, but that is a nice jacket.

Honestly though, am I the only man who cannot stand cardigans??

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:27 PM) :

courageous. dignified. non-chalant.

what else do you want in a man?

f***in awesome.

hilarious.

Blogger Simo said ... (2:48 PM) :

With all the respect to you Mr Scott, and the people who like this outfit

I think it's really too much colors, and no combination at all...maybe the shoes with the jacket, thats it.

Have a nice evening guys.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:02 PM) :

I have fallen in love with his pounts. :D

Anonymous MaxW said ... (3:06 PM) :

Drop dead perfect.

Anonymous B said ... (3:06 PM) :

Somehow I like the guy on the left better. Hes got a little bit of that latino gangster vibe, but more big city street. So laid back. Just cool.

Blogger Allen - East Hampton said ... (3:16 PM) :

Holy Toledo! He's certainly a man of conviction, but how does he dress for Easter?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:17 PM) :

Cardigans are so sexy on men.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:24 PM) :

i do not like that, the jacket has to be more fitted and the quality of the fabrics does not look as high as it would be necessary to make this outfit work, its too wannabe,,,,,

Blogger The Khaki Crusader said ... (3:25 PM) :

luca always wears items one might traditionally associate with older gentlemen - in this case a fairly loose fitting cardigan and pleated emerald trousers - but keeps them edgy and young. he's a cool guy. fun to watch

Blogger laweezil said ... (3:27 PM) :

I LOVE Luca!!!!!If I were a man I would dress like him (or at least emulate his style!) He is unique.

Blogger istanbul fashion addict said ... (3:28 PM) :

gosh!he dresses like me!I mean I love using vibrant colours and so as him...great combination.

Anonymous Holly said ... (3:35 PM) :

Wow! He's absolutely styling with swagger!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:35 PM) :

love it!

Blogger teresa said ... (3:37 PM) :

The way he pulls this off is with his attitude, his confidence, his good looks. I love it and I hope to keep seeing more pictures of Luca because he's a delightful dresser.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:40 PM) :

haha. great shot

Blogger Honeygo Beasley said ... (3:44 PM) :

I saw an elderly woman walking on the street today wearing a similar color combination.

Easterly.

But on him, very dashing.

Anonymous Olyvia said ... (3:47 PM) :

Those are the ideal green trousers. Lovely.

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (3:48 PM) :

Finally a man who dares to wear color. Yeah. My kinda fashion man too. I'm fed up with the all-black outfit.

Blogger Unknown said ... (4:03 PM) :

DARING and GORGEOUS use color. Luca ROCKS!!!

Anonymous davidsl said ... (4:08 PM) :

my first thought was that he was dressed like an easter egg. though i would have foregone the purple sweater, or kept my jacket buttoned, it does work in a way of it's own. italian men tend to be more bold than americans with their color choices. i may be inspired by this to take some more chances with color myself. maybe not to this degree, but more than i'm doing now.

Blogger Pearl Westwood said ... (4:15 PM) :

I can't get past the pants!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:17 PM) :

Goodness, thank you for wearing colors!! Especially in a european city!!!!!

Anonymous Ave said ... (4:34 PM) :

I think it's great, everyone should stop wearing so much black cause looks like this make me smile. Smiling is good right?

Anonymous Tobias said ... (4:50 PM) :

I love people that isn'r afraid of experimenting with colors!

Anonymous La reine de l'est said ... (4:51 PM) :

Superbeau!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:03 PM) :

Although this guy seems to be able to carry this bold color combination, I think it would be more "perfect" if the green pants were darker, more like a forrest green.

Some commenters have suggested brown pants, but brown pants would remove all the "pop."

By the way, the colors of the jacket and sweater are perfect for his coloring.

Anonymous Questioner said ... (5:15 PM) :

I like it. A bold color statement indeed, but managing to keep short of the line between bold and whackadoodle. It would also look great, but a little more subdued, with brown pants as some have mentioned. But somehow, I think that with the green pants but without the sweater, it would be kind of boring.

That being said, green and purple together always remind me of the Joker.

Blogger Jade said ... (5:57 PM) :

Beautiful colors! The green pants, and the grey tie are beautiful.

Blogger Manuel said ... (6:06 PM) :

¡Luca, Luca! elegante, maravilloso estilo. exquisito en sus gustos

Blogger SequinsandBangles said ... (6:08 PM) :

This really doesn't look like a London look, for some reason it just appears so Milanese, and I can't put my finger on why I think that. Maybe it is because it is so dapper, brave, out of the box or maybe it is the use of great separate pieces.

Blogger Brummagem Joe said ... (7:58 PM) :

I'd love to see how some of the fashion "critics" of Luca's outfit actually dress themselves.....it's a few notches beyond what I'd wear being a bit of a classicist but it works, doesn't look remotely silly, and he carries it off with style....so what's not to like.

Blogger ... said ... (7:58 PM) :

what a beautiful picture!

Anonymous The Photodiarist said ... (8:13 PM) :

I just love the splash of color that this man brings to an otherwise monochromatic background. Wonderful bokeh too. And his choice of colors, including the brown tweed to bring it all together, is fabulous.

Blogger Rosie said ... (8:15 PM) :

Incredibly beautiful shot! I love the contrast between his colors and the black and white of the passer-bys.

i read your title about 5 times before i finally got it. can't believe everyone else is wearing only black and white! what a nice contrast. i always love seeing this guy and the way he plays with color. i wear lots of simple stuff but every once in a while i wish i had the gonads to leave me house like this.

Anonymous Dustyflint said ... (12:38 AM) :

I must agree with all negative comments made so far (cut of shoulders, too much, out of the box, etc..) and I still love it. I guess that makes it style, not fashion. This is a guy I would like to have as a friend.

Anonymous teri said ... (12:38 AM) :

People who dress like this and walk down the street would SOOO make my day! Just a bright splash of tasteful color is all it takes to bring a little bit more happiness into the world~!

Slim black leather motorcycle jacket, jeans and sneakers. T-shirt is dope too.

Nothing against Luca - he's fly too.

Anonymous Cloudy said ... (2:43 AM) :

So cool! Again! I think I have a crush on Luca..... please tell me he's not gay (I don't have a gaydar, so can't tell...)

Anonymous Dounia said ... (5:22 AM) :

I like the pic, but not the entire outfit. I just like the pants, their color leaves me speechless

Anonymous plus size dresses said ... (6:39 AM) :

its unique.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:31 AM) :

Very well said, Alessandro and Brummagen Joe. Further, I have a feeling that whoever is deriding Luca's garments and colors are hipster types who get around in skin tight jeans, flip-flops and hoodies. You know who you are. Luca is clearly out of your league.

And to the person who made a comment about preferring the "latino gangster vibe" type guy to the left, clearly, you're in the same league as the hipster types aforementioned.

What Luca is wearing is reminiscent of the colours and clothing which a gentleman of the 1930s would have worn on a casual week-end stroll. How sad I find the evolution of man's choice of clothing since that time. The clothes are still available; it is man's motivation that is lamentable.

Anonymous AnaPt said ... (8:50 AM) :

wow what a mix!! Courageous :D

Anonymous eHABERDASHER.com said ... (9:24 AM) :

Great shot! The outfit exudes pure confidence... I have a light purple Valentino sweater (and have actually sold several), but I myself still have not mustered the gumption to actually wear it yet. Alone the light purple is a bit much, but when layered under a jacket it looks fantastic - Luca is a case in point!

Blogger luckybastard said ... (2:01 PM) :

i'm one of the earlier dissenters on this outfit and i personally can't understand why some people are so taken aback. the guy has on something provocative, it's going to get a pretty strong reaction on either end. i love color but it's something that i think should be used to accent and draw attention to even to play with for ironic and comedic effect but not has a blunt instrument to bludgeon the observer- just my personal opinion. as i said before, i love all the pieces individually, i would have just preferred he'd show a bit of restraint.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:35 PM) :

No trick to be provocative, I'd agree there. Still, he seems to have a good grasp of colors and not least: a good length on the pants. I really cannot get the ridiculously shorts pants we see in Milan and elsewhere these days.

Blogger Brummagem Joe said ... (5:34 PM) :

luckybastard said...

.......I for one am not taken aback, there's no problem with different viewpoints.....I couldn't agree more with the commenter at 3.35 about floodpants for example.....but imho this color combo (while at the edge) works fine...there's nothing remotely outlandish about it so all the clown, flower squirter stuff is a bit gratuitous.....I'm not even sure it's at the edge on reflexion .....I have a purple tie with green wavy stripes at 1/2" intervals and it looks great with a grey flannel suit....Luca clearly knows what he's about and does it well....despite the bold colors it's very masculine and flattering to him personally.

Anonymous Sara Lua said ... (5:40 PM) :

It's not courage, it's artistry. To say he has courage means he put together something that may not make sense or create beauty, but he does all the time.

I love Luca. I wish there were more in this world who put beauty & reflection into their daily choices.

Blogger Joy Mars said ... (12:54 AM) :

I am 200% behind men wearing color.

It's about time. Should they also have some fun?

These big colors would look stupid if they were put together in matching combinations. I think the only way to pull it off with bravado is to throw pieces together and sense if they're working or not.

Although I must admit he's rather rad.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:58 PM) :

Blogger Gigi said ... (7:20 PM) :

AMAZING.

Anonymous Rachel Cool said ... (7:01 AM) :

I don't know about this photo. Contrasting Luca against 'a black and white world' is fine. His colour is great! But having others in the image as representative of this black and white world is less than thrilling. The image and title are filled with implicit criticism of the background subjects - criticism they don't deserve...they're just minding their own business.

Blogger Donnie Gayfield said ... (2:26 PM) :

It's not my taste, however, I love the bold use of color.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:08 AM) :

That shade of green is perfect.

Blogger CW said ... (1:04 PM) :

There's a time and place for everything. Chocolate-brown trousers would have worked better. The green golf pants would be better in a more relaxed setting, sans tie, but with a glen plaid picking up on the color. I do not see a similar green in the jacket on this man.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:32 PM) :

Sorry. But this look is dated. In this case overdone. He looks like a clown.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:04 PM) :

Oh, please, Rachel Cool... obviously Scott meant no disrespect toward the other subjects in the photo.

The hyper sensitivity and politically correctness displayed by many in our societies is rendering us bland, void of character and robotic.

Call it as you see it, Scott.
