Comments on "Backstage at Balmain, Paris"
Decarin!!!! I love his outfit and ofcz his talent :)
So, who is this exquisite gentleman?
perfect
Essentially all of Decrnin's brilliant designs are nods to Emmanuelle...after all it was she who first permeated his masterpieces into the pages of Paris Vogue who brought him the household status he's garnered. Voguette's are such wonderful missionaries, pulling nearly bankrupt fashion houses up by their blingy bootstraps.
Naturally she would be right beside him when reflecting over his latest collections. (And of course she's wearing the most chicly classic Balmain blazer while doing so.)
Ooh what I would do to have her power.

I love this man and his style. His vibe reminds me of a past professor: eccentric, intense, highly intelligent.
amazery.
You saved the best for last, didn't you????
That leather jacket is positively lush! Love the grey marle top too, great "I'm too cool for school" outfit!
Sooo cool, love it!
a face full of character- love the jacket!
looking like you are comfortable is underated
Great jacket and distressed pants. So, it looks like there were empty chairs at Balmain . . .
It's Christophe Decarnin looking very Ronnie Woods!
Balmain's spring collection is unbelievable. I waaaaannnttt!!!

Backstage is a place to be. It place where we can find the collest and most different people. Loved the picture. Its compose is simply beautifull.
chill
it just doesn't get any better does it?
amazing....
Decarnin is such a beautiful man.
"It's Christophe Decarnin looking very Ronnie Woods!"--
couldn't be said better.
Evidently he's been spending a *lot* of time hanging out around band rehearsal spaces in Brooklyn.
Looks a little unkempt to me..sure he's a great designer
He's wearing his own design... nice
Christophe Decarnin ... can anyone identify the three others?
i love decarnin and i love the fact that he is one of the designers who actually dresses up correctly for his shows and not go out in nearly sweats as many do.

This one of the sexiest men i have ever seen.
J adore his ensemble - the glamorous disheveled look of it all - the nonchalance.
The overly long sleeves, the artfully distressed motocross pants, the perfect belt thickness and color.
The leather jacket w/ perfect sleeves and details,
All of the muted tones working together.
That wide expanse of clavicle is mesmerizing,
The tousled dark hair and deep eyes.

loving the jeans!

So then, I guess it's sacrilege if I say that I love the leather jacket but the pants and shirt look terrible! (I know I know... it's supposed to be chic but I don't find anything chic in pre-distressed trousers and ill-fitting tops).
What A strange and sexy man!
im in love...
Christophe Decarnin seems spending too much time on his design, get some food to eat and sleep well.
He is marvelous!
very cool dressed-down (ish) look seems to fit right n! this man knows hows it done and is doing it right.
One of your best posts! This is just SO good!

Simply rock !
Scott, looking like Rodin's thinker. The gentleman above looks fantastic.
Whoo! He sure knows how to make grungy look cool
Re Comment: "empty chairs"- They're watching a run through you fool! Why would the designer be sitting at the front row during his own show?
Re Pics: Love grunge.
I love the hidden stories your pictures tell. I didn't know who these people were until I read the comments and then all was explained enough for me to google more info. But your pictures always leave me wanting to know more. It's as if you have surpassed the need for profile journalism, in a way.

Just wondering. When will you ever come to Sweden to shot some nice pics of cool people?! We have them here to, the cool people that is, and we have the darkness as well as the pale winter daylight. Nice settings :)
well that's personal style... you either have it, or you don't!
Decarnin seems really spleepy!! he needs to sleep
stjarna
leather always does its job perfectly!!

xx
Looks like he's had quite a day
I always liked having my sleeves longer or out of my coat. I don't know why. I like it on men too from now on !
E. Alt is the coolest woman I' ve ever seen.
nice jacket!!
He reminds me of a Rolling Stone in this picture!
http://sequinsandbangles.blogspot.com
He looks like one of my uncles... had he been a rock-star-ish designer in Paris.
I dig his leather jacket.
Top shot: the light in his face and neck, so perfect. A classic portrait.
What a beautiful gentleman. nd he does'nt look like he's working in fashion, I love when people are not cliche (and I love when they are).
A fetching cross between Ron Wood and Edward Furlong!
love it love it
why so many empty seats?
of course there were no empty chairs at Balmain, it is just the rehersals
The black leather jacket is fantastic.... esos pantalones me asustan.

The music running through my head is Peter Sarstedt
singing "Where do you go to my lovely"...check it out!
This man reminds me of my Father, sunken cheeks and piercing eyes. He looks so mild on the outside but his eyes are so intent, like they have something to say.
I can touch the energy~!

umm re empty chairs, think it's a run through, he wouldn't be sitting in the front row at his own show...
I love his pants!
My first thought was very Ron Woods! As we would say in Oklahoma "he's a hunk"!
I would wear this right now and want the entire outfit. Love, love, loving well-fitted leather jackets!!
I NEED those pants!!!!!
Great look!
Someone recently asked me for spare change in San Francisco wearing an outfit almost identical to his.
He is SO Fricking Beautiful! Hot, sexy, cute, what a man! Someone else said it earlier, but I have to say int again, that I love when people got contradictions, as he does, he doesn't look like a designer, not in the stereotype way at least, he looks more like a rock star or a poet.
And same with E.Alt, she is the most cool woman ever, she is such an icon for myself, as we are same age, I guess, and she shows that you don't have to dress in a certain way if you're not 25 anymore.
Thanks Scott for having these wonderful, inspiring ppl in the same picture.
xxx
That's one sexy dude in the middle pic.
Sorry I can not understand how with that look of a poet, rock or whatever you want can make collections full of luxury and sophistication. I think it is contradictory
Wonderful photograph, you really caught his amazing style.
Sorry to be a bit of "cold water" on the parade here but this looks like the old "heroin chic" of some years ago. and those were not glamorous happy times. The pants are interesting though. The rest...ehh...

perfection!:D
I don't get it, or maybe I do?:
If the guy is famous, then his clothes are an inspiration, on anyone else, his clothes spell "bum".
Nice double standard.
Except for the remark about the pants, I totally agree with Bob.
I don't like it at all.
Much prefer Romeo above, or Mr. Castiglioni, or M. Tuileries
Christophe Decarnin
Love him !

Oh where, oh where is the Balmain in Balmain?
This is how to wear a gray T-shirt.
He is Tamás Király, the last real fashion designer in hungary.
The sexiest !
i think he looks extremely sexy but he played the grunge factor a little too far. the look would have been better if he'd worn a nice shirt with those distressed pants or vice versa, but then again, that is his style and he carries it well.
Oh my, these folks need a vacation and some R&R.
I love the way the layers of ragged charm. especially the sleeves. He looks so haunted and sickly, but he is very handsome and intense.
So cool!
Henley neck T shirts + Leather jacket is amazing combination.
Love his style.

Emmanuelle Alt. Always good to see her.
Dee Dee Ramone gets front row seating?
I love LOVE thiss look.
This is my whole wardrobe
wrapped up in one outfit.
oh god..i don't know who's that man but he looks like a homeless or a junkie
Well... what im gonna say is a plead... for balmain... Make those fantastic jackets suitable for men.. less soulderpads of course.... cuz i want one... even if its not that wearable... i dont care... make it... i buy it....
i love his pants! and his overall look and appeall rocks! - rei (theanne69@yahoo.com) :)
Beautiful man, great style!
