Blogger Christina Hallett said ... (8:47 AM) :

I think it is odd how one of the most influential people in the history of fashion always dresses the same. Where is the variety?

Chanel show looks INCREDIBLE. holy cow. breathtaking. you are so lucky to have been there - but then it's not luck it's hard work. but you know what i mean! *JEALOUS*

Anonymous sanmiguelense said ... (10:18 AM) :

I find the whole scenario rather tacky. The mise en scene does indeed look like a manger or a mall Christmas display--Santa's Enchanted Village. The hayseed/BBC Thomas Hardy rolling around doesn't really work. The clothes are such a self-parody that who but the wives/girlfriends/hookers of Russian oligarchs wears this stuff? It is all Juicy Couture for the fatter wallet.

Blogger EB said ... (11:23 AM) :

beauuuutiful. j'adore j'adore

Anonymous jesus rivera said ... (11:24 AM) :

offensive and unncessary chanel show if meant to evoke/provoke christianity, and made even more crude by the cavorting bodies in the hay and the ever laughable lagerfeld who looks as if he cannot quite fit into his dior homme jackets recently

Anonymous L said ... (11:40 AM) :

This seems like a Christmas nativity scene. The last picture most strongly suggest this.

Blogger DENNI said ... (11:40 AM) :

BEAUTIFUL. GOD SEEMS A DREAM. LOVE LOVE LOVE

Blogger Stanley said ... (11:59 AM) :

Gotta say that, in spite of the weight loss, Karl looks awful as usual these days. If you've seen him without those Terminator goggles (for instance in the film Lagerfeld Confidential) you know he is not only human but handsome as well, with very nice eyes. The gloves, oversize collars, and clunky boots just add to the robotic effect. It's a shame that he feels the need to be so encased. Lighten up!

I like the casual pic of Giovanna Battaglia with her sister Sara, they're always together and both have really funky style in totally different ways!!

Blogger The Chukker said ... (12:44 PM) :

KL has always been a very controversial character...One cannot just simple look at him and move on...he basically stirs up so many emotions and feelings(and maybe prejudices) that basically most people REACT.
Yes, it is always "Hate him" or "Genious" or "His clothes this...or that..."
One cannot just simply be indifferent!

Love him!

wish i was there

Blogger the style crusader said ... (4:47 PM) :

oh, it's completely ethereal.

exactly what you want from fashion these days, something that transcends the current reality.

Blogger Ruhvana and Flanelli said ... (4:48 PM) :

Wow, what is this?? Super interesting. Maybe I actualy need to get some more information about this Chanels collection, because the set looks so awesome!

Blogger C A said ... (4:59 PM) :

Hi, there is also a post about Chanel SS10 on Maison Chaplin, check it out! <3 Lily Allen

Blogger Bookworm said ... (5:18 PM) :

Oooh, how I would kill to have been there.

Blogger Kacrates said ... (5:24 PM) :

I like new theme away from the usual strong and bold theme like the Carousel (I believe that was last year?), to a manger/new beginning theme. Its very nice indeed, the models can frolick and have fun :). Shows the durability of the collection pieces.

Blogger Nick Leonard said ... (5:41 PM) :

Oh man, I wish I could've been there! Wonderful shot of Miss Lily.

Anonymous Maranda said ... (6:01 PM) :

Maybe the set looked better in real life, in the pictures it looks like the set of a high school drama production.

Blogger Michael Limaco said ... (8:22 PM) :

The stage set reminds me of the poor people in France back in the 18th century, when Marie Antoinette was rumored to say " Let them eat cake!". Although its totally not poverty, it's freakin' Coco Chanel!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:26 AM) :

Reminds of Jean Cocteau's Beauty and the Beast a la Karl.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:36 AM) :

unnecessary religious overtones, it seems. quickest way to lose an audience is to attach to a product a religious or political message. I would have traded a ticket to the show for a brioche. Honestly.

Blogger ukashv said ... (2:20 AM) :

sophisticated!!

Anonymous Marquis de Lannes said ... (3:55 AM) :

Scott, gracias a ti y a Garance por esas risas!
Besos!

Anonymous Gabbie said ... (9:10 AM) :

Weird show. suggests Chanel is in danger of overexposure. As an earlier poster said... Juicy Couture for the fatter wallet... a look that's getting tacky & tired & ready to be retired.

Blogger Erin Aviles said ... (11:47 AM) :

Oh my goodness, Lily Allen! That show looks incredible :) I loved Garance's post as well...and I love how you have started to link to her blog. I was reading both of you separately before you got together, I think it's so cute now that there's a connection!
Oh, Chanel is the ultimate!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:46 AM) :

I couldn't see their love affair well at this show:(

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:21 PM) :

I am so jealous you had access to this show. It looks amazing.

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:08 PM) :

Karl karl karl he is amazing and never ever ceases to surprise me each season. I want to pick at his brain.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:24 AM) :

Sorry, but I just didn't get it. Just what I don't want to see. Models walking around with dirty, bare feet.
It's time for Karl to retire and Alber from Lanvin to take over.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:49 PM) :

stunning and absolute genius.
