Blogger Ljubica said ... (5:08 PM) :

such great shots, love the tone on tone.. so chic & timeless..

I made myself a trench from McCall's 5525 and it's my favorite coat by far! There are some beauties out there in RTW too, not at all like the baggy shapeless trenches I recall from 20 years ago.

Blogger hi-d said ... (5:15 PM) :

It can't be that time of year yet! Nice trenches!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:15 PM) :

Bananas!

What a coincidence, I just busted out my navy wool trench today. Lightest wool ever, feels like a bathrobe, looks like a trench.
Love the smile on the first girl. Nothing works like a pretty smile.
Great humor to the second shot. I immediately looked at her shoes, I guess expecting to see a piece of mashed banana. Nice shoes.

Anonymous StylePicks said ... (5:26 PM) :

So chic

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:27 PM) :

the banana is the best accessory!

Blogger Brian said ... (5:48 PM) :

The first looks like a 1950's promotional pic of the stewardess uniforms for Beige Air.

The second has the loosely tied belt, sunglasses on the head, and sexier shoes that keep a trench from looking stuffy and dated.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:50 PM) :

The banana should definitely replace all the Blackberry as the new accessory to have in hand when shot for your site :)

Anonymous Style Odyssey said ... (5:50 PM) :

even though they're not for me (i live in the tropics), i do love a simple trench...prefer black, though.
good pics, especially the second.

Anonymous MaxW said ... (6:04 PM) :

Yes. The ultimate spring/autumn outer wear. Easy to combine but I love the photos.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:04 PM) :

Love the shoes on the second (and the banana + red nails) but I have to say that to me trenches= snore= conservative, not chic.

Blogger ... said ... (6:45 PM) :

love the color of the trenches!

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (7:33 PM) :

You know, I like the banana bit in the picture.

Anonymous John Taylor said ... (7:45 PM) :

I love the first pic the best. Simple and chic. If only she had a beige handbag instead!

The trench in the second pic is ill-fitting.

Anonymous Courtney said ... (8:27 PM) :

is that top one Billy Joel's wife?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:29 PM) :

Great shots & love the coats.

Blogger Brigadeiro said ... (1:12 AM) :

Love that 2nd pic! The banana, the sandals, the red iphone case, and of course, the trench...

Anonymous eddy said ... (1:16 AM) :

I saw banana lady on the L train to Brooklyn. She was stunning. Except she did not have a banana peal in her hand. Instead it was a folder which read "Oscar de la Renta"
Who's that chump?

Blogger Dominica said ... (1:32 AM) :

banana or kelly ? Wich one gives the most energy ?? ;-)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:09 AM) :

the first shot is from Billy Joel's ex, isn't it?

Blogger Louise Bowers said ... (3:48 AM) :

And we should all give thanks to the forefathers of the trench as history remembers this fashion item well. There was a time when only single middle aged television detectives would be reliant on the trench to turn up rain soaked at a the scene of the crime. And of course, who could forget the most famous trench of all, the flasher trench with never used buttons and matching socks, no shoes, I'm not sure why. So wear the trench with pride we've come a long way unless you are heading off to flash a crime scene! That banana was loaded you know.

Blogger Nick Leonard said ... (4:00 AM) :

Birght smile, so pretty. :]

Anonymous SFDavid said ... (4:38 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:08 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:18 AM) :

I guess the dress that's under the trench from the firs photo is gorgeous.the colors are beautiful and I love the bag and the shoes from both pictures.

1st shot. Fantastic. I like the trench coat with the vintage safari pockets detail. The shoes are feminine. Stunning smile and poise. Extra points for her dress that is probably cut from a vintage pattern. 10/10 for the genuine smile. La ragazza e' molto bella. And LOL at the dude in the background that is eying her handbag.

2nd shot. Not so fantastic. Dime-a-dozen style of trench regardless of RRP. Her shoes, well the design of her shoes is straight out of an American strip... ah, forget it. I don't like them. And LOL at the dude in the background that's eying the banana peel 'cause he wants to dry the strings.

Blogger joshylola said ... (1:36 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:59 PM) :

those shoes, and those bare legs, and that wonderful off white. super cool combo.

Blogger SallyO said ... (6:54 PM) :

I don't really like khaki trenches. Too "Columbo" for me. However, I do like to eat a banana every day!

Blogger noelakadjtambour said ... (9:41 PM) :

the top picture: she looks like she's on top of the world...high- wattage if i ever saw one

Blogger Joy Mars said ... (10:28 PM) :

Fashion-victim shoes.

Can't say I'm thrilled with them. But the banana is an interesting accessory.

Blogger sweetXkaBOOM said ... (10:49 PM) :

i love the juxtaposition of her well-put together style, and the banana flapping in the breeze! this is great!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:51 AM) :

Love first girl's nude pump. It makes her legs endless and elegant!

The ladies are so elegant!I so love trech coats... I should buy one...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:49 AM) :

I think it is katie lee joel, I first thought it was the designer for Marchesa, but I couldnt put my finger on it. She looks fantastic, and I love her Hermes Kelly. But what I love the most is the neckline around her dress, and the big round button.

Blogger C. Lynn said ... (9:34 AM) :

Its rain season the trenches are out! Yes!

Blogger Allen - East Hampton said ... (11:07 AM) :

I like everything about the 2nd shot.

Blogger Jen O said ... (11:08 AM) :

Are you sure the first one isn't channeling Colleen Corby c. 1968?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:24 PM) :

The woman in the first pic is gorgeous -- she just exudes confidence and joy. The tonal look is so well put together.

Blogger Rosanna Lea said ... (3:26 PM) :

Love the shoes the woman is wearing in the second photo. Fabulous.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:15 PM) :

the first pic is definitely katie lee (she was going to get divorced, are they still together?)

Anonymous AnonymousJK said ... (6:23 PM) :

Isn't the first pic of Billy Joel's ex? I must say she does look like an "Uptown Girl" in that trench w/ that lovely Kelly bag! Maybe she's off to meet her next "Piano Man" Okay, no more puns from me, I was trying to be punny ;)

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:12 AM) :

oh !! i love the neutral colors with accents of red nail paint n ofcourse the banana yellow!:)

Anonymous Reagan said ... (7:11 AM) :

Photos like this make me realize why some women wear 4-inch heels on a day when they know they'll be running around town in a wild rush... because it's stunning.

Anonymous triad said ... (1:14 AM) :

BEAUTIFUL SHOES!! aaaahhh

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:57 PM) :

like opposite sides of the same coin. same "idea" but #1 is so perky-fresh and #2 has an edge. nice.

Blogger Anastasia said ... (1:12 AM) :

Im sure the 2nd pic is of
Sarah-Jane Clarke owner of australian fashion label 'Sass and Bide'...if so, this look is way too conservative for her!

Blogger sunshinee said ... (2:00 AM) :
