Comments on "On the Street.....London Now, London"
LOVE the sequins. The girl in the top photo has such attitude and she can really pull off the sequins as part of a day-tim look
Hey mate, today, dust storm in Sydney, I read U book at a bookstore, And then, come here and be first comments before U release. It is amazing!
I love the first girl, she looks so fearless. The second girl I'm not so keen on I'm afraid. A bit too 'Hoxton try-to-hard' for my liking.
Awesome hair, the corn rows look fantastic with the bleach blonde :)
Soooooooooooooooo hot!
loVe it!!!
Am loving the running girls tights!!
Cool! :-)
I enjoy the use of the color palette but.. *cringe*
I like the top hair style, without having to shave the head..reminds of Mad Max
wow! beautiful!
so glamorous! love the haircut!

what a face, haha
You really have the heart of London here, fab!
http://fashionpearlsofwisdom.blogspot.com/
Funny... These photos don't seem very "sartorialistish" to me! That's what London does to you, I guess!
I love London style!!! Fearless.
Londres y sus excelentes locuras!
Hell yeaaaah!! Give me some more! This is FUN!!
Visiting London always makes me want to try a little harder. There's something to be said for making an effort.
COOL
This is pretty much why I left England.
Very 80's...
2nd photo brings me feel good vibes, they're having a blast and you can tell that.
the first picture is perfect on so many levels :)
izabelizabel.blogspot.com
uau… what a blast!
London looks fun!
the first girl. oooh. i'm so in love with her!
i love love love the eccentrics!! The brits get it right, ALWAYS!
I especially love the 1st girl's eye-makeup.. so Rad. Its awesome to see it off-runway for once.

Michael Jackson´s guitarist? (the first one, about her hair)
dare to be different!
First look = wow. She just pops!

wow cool pictures!
wow! so fresh
I love that top picture!!!! Fantastic!
how very English! more studs in London.... must be quite the trend. the top girl needs some bottoms though
Scott, we have to know some thing about tha signing on Liberty last monday.
where is yoy cronical
is she beautiful because she is young?
The first girl's hair is eccentric in a good way. =) I wish we could have seen more of her makeup. It looks amazing from what I can see. =)
Londoners are so individual and expressive in their dress!
Glamourous Punk Styleee!!!
lo.
www.lovintrash.blogspot.com
Ohh, the last one looks like Victoria Station, am I right?
It's wonderful to be young enough to wear things like this. However, it was new 25 years ago and so counter culture that it was exciting. Now it just seems done.
I love and miss London. The people and the city are one of a kind. I have very much enjoyed the London series of pictures on here!
You get out more than I do - is the punk aesthetic coming back? It would be nice. So much easier to be yourself if your making noise and breaking stuff. (c:
The first gal could be the new Cindy Lauper!
I love everything about the lady in the first pic!!!
Gotta love London!
She's being devoured by a rainbow! I'd run too!
Punk minerva and a flaming rainbow.
Ahhh. I got a picture of the first one too. Typical London Fashion I'd say!
http://www.getyourplanerightontime.com/
ohmygod the first picture. the girl is hot. love the gold sequins
I have to admit, I admire their bravery. I would never have the guts to pull those looks off.
Love their confidence.
1st photo: Loving the hair dyed black at the ends!
2nd shot:
That is THE chic-est jacket I have seen in so long! And where can I get that bag!
As an English Sartorialite (I think that's what your followers are called!) I always love seeing the difference between European/American/English dress sense.
Just goes to show the English are still eccentric, avant-garde, and bananas. Maybe not everyone will think these two are well-dressed but both to me represent essential Englishness found across the land, bizarre and somehow beautiful.
Your site is inspiring and also full of life; thank you for giving me a little fashionable lift everyday!
www.eleanorbsnare.co.uk
UK Rocks!!!
Love the second photo.
Especially the bag... ;-)
I love these pictures! You're so talented, though i'm sure you've heard that just about a billion times, from people who actually are important in fashion and photography and that aren't 13-year-old girls that just check your website 3 times a day to see if there are new pictures...
The gaga influence. :) haha. First lady looks bangin. Her hair is original, unusual, and it fits her effortlessly. The make-up, as well.
xx
Love the sequins on the first.
love the leggings on the second.
Nice photos!
www.fashionsnag.com
that second photo is a new classic.
Full of life, love these.
I LOVE both of them. Scott, you have really surprised (and delighted) me with your choices of subject here! They're so cute and untrendy and gorgeous and vibrant and individual and stylish...without a trace of It-bag or vertiginous crazy expensive heel or boyfriend blazer anywhere...yay!!!!
wow, the girl in the first photo's hair is amazingly cool! so rad.
super cute..both looks would be winners in the style contest at
www.joandjoenyc.com
How.
Much.
Fun.
To me, the main thing about fashion, both haute couture and extravagant street fashion, is that it stretches our imagination to the point where, if we would never wear such things, it pushes us to try something new, something different. My favorite things about these two images is that the items seem to be straight from the wearer's inspiration, rather than some "it" garment. Jorge from WPB
hmmmm.... i want to just come right out and say its a bit freakish, but that wouldnt be very nice. everyone has their own style...... :P
www.getobsessed.blogspot.com
Sequins... yay!
And as for that second look: would you call that a grown up take on the nu-rave look that was oh so popular?
I love that English girls are not skinny and don't care!
Exciting!
the top one is a mess
the bottom one is a mess done well, with JOY
This two shots reveal how great this damp, dark, and wonderful city of London is.
Punk is not Dead...Awesome!
i lived in london for three years and i think i can say i've never seen whackier outfits anywhere else... sometimes classy, sometimes...not. but always fun to look at!
my heart skipped a beat of awe when i saw these girls ... sweet courage!
I'm a tremendous fan of that first look. Ripped tights, jean jacket, braids!, yellow sequins. This is '80s rocker chic at it's absolute finest. Wish I could see the footwear. It's probably amazing.
A LOT of thought must go into planning these types of outfits. It must be fun to wear such stuff. and I imagine it takes a lot of confidence. I prefer your post below however.
Wow, both of these are amazing.
The second girls stockings are fantastic!
Refresh! Original! Vanguardia! Spontaneous!
I love the colours and the clashing :D
comment visit my blog Propsforbella.blogspot.com
Two hot messes!! Gotta love those Brits!
And to think... London colors are typically more subdued than New York!
oooh how i love!!! the colours and the textures....its truly inspirational
First photo - I love what she's done with her hair. The colour, the cornrows half way up - then free flowing. Brilliant innovation.
The rest of the outfit works in a glam post-punk way. Very attractive, very innovative.
Second photo - The outfit looks like something a kid threw together from castoffs she found in the Goodwill box. This is supposed to be fashionable?
I love Everything about these shots! Color, movement, freedom, art.
That second photo is of Nova Dando, the stylist and designer, I think.
You found the kids with their own point of view. They rock it so hard.
I die,I die the hair the bag the sequined bodysuit I die!!!!!
The tights on the last girl...I'm befuddled. Are they like 6 pairs of tights layered, constructed, patched together?
Anyway, love the bravery here, especially with the first girl. She's her own person.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the top photo!! Now THAT is what you call individual style!!
Finally, a little spice on this blog!
I love those pics! Europeans have the attitude added to their fashion that I think most Americans fail to display.
xoxo,
F.

The denim vest...I shopped my closet for my 10yr.old one...I'm brainstorming on how to doctor it up...yea! for rekindling!!!
Now this gal is loving life...what Zest evokes!
love the hairstyle in the first picture. Nothing anyone could really wear, except this young punky girl. Nevertheless it looks weary pretty!
hate the gold shirt.
LOVE IT LOVE IT.
GREAT PHOTOS ALWAYS!

CHICMUSE
http://thechicmuse.blogspot.com
i have never commented on this site even though i absobloodylutely love most everything here.
but this photo i cannot ignore, especially the first one. i just love the way the London folk dress up and own it =)
The girl on top has so much awesome going on. The sequined top, her hair, and those torn tights. I love it.
ahah. perfect
AMAZING!
Awesome photos!!! Especialy girl with denim jacket, she is stunning. That gold color together with her hair is awesome. Love it alot.
It's not often you see something truly colourful and original.
noooooo, sorry, I don't like it.... it has nothing to do with elegant or feminine. Not my cup of tea.
amazing amazinggggg amazingg!! that rainbow jacket is TO DIE FOR.
<3 The Voguette
o, that London i like eagerly))it is just in time looking so wild and pretty. gorgeous hair at the first shot, great shoes and (what is it? socks, plus-fours, tights, blinkers or maybe all of them?) at second.
Oi London now? How bout London last 30 years to now... The first place I ever had a bank teller with green hair was London. What a great city. The pic of the bird in the first shot could have been taken in 1979 not just 2009. Punk is timeless long live THE JAM!!!
I really appreciate the photo of the sequined girl. While my personal style is vastly different from hers, I still find it relatable - she may not be "high fashion" and decked out in couture but she is making a fun, fearless statement - using accessible, presumably affordable pieces to create a one-of-a-kind look.
Well, this is what London fashion is all about... Wear what you want, how you want and feel great about it! Oh, how I envy them, the Londonders...
these shots encapsulate a bit of Burning Man on the streets of London. it's impressive to see this style manifested in public!
yes 2nd shot is of nova dando
http://www.novadando.com
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jx4MxWqtnA
great shots!! so london!! punky with those broken tights and crazy hair!! love it.
First glance, love it! Perfectly put together. If you look at each piece individually, you wonder...what is going on here?! I love that this girl thought up this outfit, & wears it like it's nothing. The outfit doesn't wear her, she wears it!
I think someone needs to adress a taste issue with some of the women's fasjion - Please! There has to be more creativity, innovation and style out there than ripped stockings
LOVE the first look! Although her hair is a wee bit too long!
The second picture has so much fun character, even though its so much going on...
Goodle x
These girls have raided the 1980's closets and make-up bins of Cyndi Lauper.
I love that these looks seem so unexpected!
I like that you spice it up, adding a whole bunch of different looks that appeal to you!
Love the second picture, the coat is amazing. Shame the first girl is on every fashion blog out there, proof that getting your crotch out gets you on the internet!
Anonymous @ 4;53, your comment.. hurts. I've known that girl all week & she's the sweetest, kindest person. Being anonymous, I have no idea how you dress, but I'd guarantee she'd never say anything hurtful about your appearance.
Why is it that whenever people want to say something cruel, they always post anonymously? Always! I think there really is some truth to the adage that all bullies are at core, cowards.
Oh God, I miss London so very badly....Only in London you get to see such eccentric, unique and fun sense of style.
One should not try this at home unless he/she is a true londoner in every sense of the word.
The top look to me sums up what London is all about.
Love the girl on top. haha. She's so edgy. I'm just afraid of what the view from behind looks like. I definitely do not wanna know.
The second. . . if she weren't so youthful looking, she could probably be mistaken for the crazy bag lady at the supermarket or an escaped kindergartener who's dressed themselves for the first time.

hahahaha i was in topshop today (NYC) and i can see that topshop really is channeling the english youth style. i love the girls expression and pose in the last photo. it makes the picture.
Love the first photo. Hair is beautiful snd represents her rocker style. Also positively accentuates imperfections and her use of accessories which suits her... I am loving your site. Also, while I'm in NY, the brave style of Londoners is refreshing.

Rave is back, again.
i've photographed some of these people, take a look...
blackmarket boo on www.t5m.com
nice work as always scott
Fantastic outfits
The top girl has an iconic look! I love her pushed over hair & heavy eye makeup. So gorgeous.
the first girl is insanely cool. love everything about her.
sequins & denim... sequins & shabby tights... sequins & chunky metal... sequins in colour variation... all works amazingly well
I remember seeing both of them at LFW....great photo's....love love love this blog

Girl #1 totally aces it.
Wow! Two fantastic finds.
The corn-rows going up the side of the head is really creative.
But I wonder about "alternative" people like this. Just how alternative ARE they? They are SO into doing odd things that they've bought totally into materiality.
What happens when they grow up? When they get some actual money? Do they become mainstream fashionistas?
really terrible.
FINALLYYYYY!!!!!
love people are actually alive out there and pulling outfits as fun and edgy like this!, thank you sartorialist for taking a snap of the 1st girl!
That first girl... shades of Cyndi Lauper. Love it! Great hair and sequins. Takes a lot of confidence to pull this off and she does.
I can handle it all, except the Mickey Mouse print. But maybe that seems less offensive if you didn't grow up in Florida.
I just wish people would wear PANTS.
Craaazy youth with attitude! I love the two pictures! Specially the first one which reminds me of Kate Moss
A few photos past this one, I had no love for the guy with the african collar, keith haring button, and his hair up in a bun. These two women have much more of a personal sense of style, in my eyes.
The first woman carries her hair and eye make-up really well-it fits. I like the second woman's look because, again, it all fits together somehow. The bright feathers on the jacket might seem a little over the top, but I love them here.
hey Nova!!! I spy The Lazy Ones shoes! loving the leggins too!
Ohhhh... I really miss London!!! Love it!!
I like how this outfit is derived from the 90's, but still has a decidedly 2009 touch.
Thanks for shooting a slightly different variety of eye candy, Scott! London style is killing it for sure...
The first girl is my big sister and she has always looked amazing, luv ya always!!!!!!!!!!!!
xxxxxx
Perhaps the one below is one below is my favorite shot in this site so far.
"don't allow the world to judge you too harshly...you'll cheat yourself out of too much living..." Harold and Maude
LOVE NOVA!!!
Well, at least now I know where I plan on moving to after college.
Utterly fantastic and balls out.
I actually like the first one (but please get tights without ladders). The second one, not so much.
re. top photo, if it's been said before, i'll say it again: i'll tumble for ya, Boy George!
glam rock ^^
oh and the second one-cute coat
god i love london
The first pic is of Rhiannon Jones, shes a fashion designer.
