I love the lighting in this photograph.

The colours of his shirt and bow tie are a mix of green and blue.
You can't really tell which ones they are.

I have been a reader since the beginning—and used to contribute all the time to the endless discussions of Thom Browne. I have to say that I think this is by far the most artistic shot you have taken. Bravo.

This image has the dramatic lighting of an old masters painting - gorgeous!

Blogger theDavid said ... (11:17 PM) :

All thats missing is the black frame glasses and its Brad from the Rachel Zoe Project...men seem to have such limited fashion muses. Don't get me wrong, he's cute and all, I like the look, its just not very original and being done by every guy that considers themselves "fashion forward"

Blogger BlumeBloom said ... (11:19 PM) :

What a fabulous photograph!
And I adore the bow tie

Good portrait. I like when a different image creeps into the mix. I know the whole bent of this site is about on the street, candid fashion shots but this is really nice, too. Lots of soul.

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (9:48 AM) :

Amazing shot. Was this picture included in your book? Perhaps volume 2.

Blogger A.K. said ... (10:15 AM) :

Scott, what lens did you use for that shot? There does not look to be much light with which to work...

@anonymous 8:30am

I'm not convinced this is it, but it gave me the same inspiration: what a delight - a velvet bowtie!

Anonymous Rankin assistant said ... (1:09 PM) :

weird, i work for rankin and this guy came into our studio and got shot - http://www.rankinlive.com/#/live_shoot/3589/p/9 (bottom right hand corner - i remember thinking how unique his face was

Anonymous David said ... (3:22 AM) :

Gorgeous, gorgeous, GORGEOUS shot.

I remember a while back you said something about how a lot of the time when you see a man in a fedora he's wearing it in an ironic "look at me, I'm wearing an old-school hat! Aren't I whacky!?" way.

That is how I feel about 95% of the men I see wearing bowties.

Blogger Unknown said ... (2:45 AM) :

Yeah, I think he looks like Heath Ledger, too.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:52 PM) :

IT'S TOTES eric lively. I've been disputing this in my head for a long time. IS IT? isn't it?

Anonymous Hannah said ... (11:40 AM) :

I agree, he looks like Heath Ledger, and also Leonardo, which means he's absolutely perfect!! I wish this man was in my life! :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:45 AM) :

i absolutley love bow ties. put a bow on a man, and i love them! stunning.

Anonymous man and van London said ... (1:21 PM) :

Awesome photo. Keep up the great work.

Blogger Unknown said ... (4:31 PM) :

I totally agree with one of the comments, the way the lights is hitting him, it splits him in two. Also like the comment said, because of the light it is hard to tell what colour is the tie and what colour is the shirt.
