On the Street....Boucle Jacket, NYC

This boucle jacket was such a smart pick for yesterdays terrible weather. Since boucle is usually very light and soft to the touch it is a great option for transitional weather, and when you want a little surface texture in a piece without the stiffness or weight of a tweed.

Always love when women dress comfortably!

Are you not covering the shows for Style.com this year? Won't be the same without your fab shots

Anonymous Katy McDevitt said ... (9:58 AM) :

Really? I'm not understanding the appeal of this at all. I mean, I dig bouclé too but overall I find this look dowdy. I do think the jacket has possibility I just don't like what she's done with it. Her shirt troubles me immensely.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:59 AM) :

Would anyone know where the shoes and the jacket is from? I just got inspired!

Anonymous The Photodiarist said ... (10:08 AM) :

Hmm. It is a rainy day outfit and the colors are nice, but otherwise, a bit humdrum.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:27 AM) :

this is my favorite look for fall. simple, to the point, and menswear inspired!

Anonymous Hannah said ... (11:38 AM) :

I like the heather on heather, but somethings feels missing...

Blogger Holly said ... (11:40 AM) :

the boucle jacket seems great from the warm winter in HK.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:57 AM) :

Pretty sure the shoes are STEVEN by Steve Madden, as I am wearing the exact pair right now!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:13 PM) :

Thanks for showing SOMETHING other than minis and the ridiculous 10-inch high shoes!! I like the guy shot above for a girl too...flats.... please bring back flats!!

will miss you on style.com. It is the only time of the year I EVER go there. so now I don't have to.

this look is nearly perfect to me. i don't really like the shirt as well - i think a collared shirt would have gone better than her selection.

nonetheless, this is my favorite look from your recent posts, and i can tell this lady has great style.

Love the grey on grey, as well as the fantastic shoes.

Blogger Ronja Nilsson said ... (5:07 PM) :

The shoes are perfect.

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:04 PM) :

such a pretty face. from her the tips of her hair to her shoes -i wonder if her demeanor is so graceful all the time. oh, if only more girls knew how to dress as perfectly, there would be so much more to admire, and thankfully, there'd be less to criticize.

Blogger Joy Mars said ... (10:05 PM) :

The colors all work together, even though none repeats. Well, maybe that's not true -- the shoes match her hair.

Really nice and understated.

Blogger francis said ... (11:00 PM) :

She is Beautiful and looks just perfect. Finally a break from the usual female look, which is always great, but this is something really special. She looks intellectual, but not stiff. Very ideal. Why don't more girls go for a smarter look?

Blogger E. said ... (3:16 AM) :

Ronja couldn't have said it better...I love when a lady/girl can wear mean shoes with such style.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:10 AM) :

that shirt does not look good.. she should have worn a v-neck or something.. i dont know she just looks really uncomfortable.. plus the colors don't really match.. i dont know how there are comments like this on here 'if only more girls knew how to dress as perfectly' .. she isnt dressed that perfect at all

Blogger erin nuts said ... (4:11 AM) :

I like her vibe. she looks very laid-back and okay with just looking comfortable.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:10 AM) :

The understatement here is absolutely perfect. I bet she writes poetry and creates the essence between the lines. The shoes are so nostalgic and the ankles the prettiest I have ever seen.

Blogger sofiasophie said ... (8:09 AM) :

she so natural that she is sexy!

love her shoes.....

Blogger Cindy at LottieBird said ... (8:12 AM) :

The shoes are Steven by Steve Madden. I, too, have them. They are the best! If ordering online, buy a size up, however. The Steve Madden shoes made in Spain run a bit smaller.
I wore them with short white socks to break them in and now they are comfortable for walking and wearing all day.
I really like them with flouncy feminine dresses. But my 9 year old calls them my "ugly shoes" (she prefers sparkly heels!).

Blogger Tanya said ... (2:18 PM) :

That's the thing about style - we all will disagree, and that's just fine. It's entirely subjective. Quality of a garment, however, is not at all subjective. It looks like everything she's wearing is of good quality and probably feels really nice when worn, too. I like how easy it all looks. I would maybe add a light-weight patterned scarf and this would be perfect to run out of the house feeling good.

Anonymous Holly said ... (10:34 PM) :

This look screams me...it fits with my lifestyle and Oklahoma weather...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:52 AM) :

so cute. there is no pretentiousness to the cuts of the garments at all, just neat and interesting and comfortable with gorgeous tan

Blogger style inside said ... (3:40 AM) :

the most beautiful shoes, worn to perfection without socks but with ankle!

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:23 AM) :

I like this look - not high fashion but chic run-around daywear (and don't we all need some of that??). I might add a long necklace or a scarf for a bit of colour but then perhaps that would mar the simplicity...

Blogger ROXY MARJ said ... (8:51 AM) :

love love love this look and color combo! This is an ensemble that I would love to "make into a room" :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:18 AM) :

Understated, I like that, but I wish the neckline of the top was a little lower. The shoes are great.

Blogger Tim McFarlane said ... (6:14 PM) :

I love the understated look and love the shoes with it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:29 PM) :

i love the shoes and jacket but her top should be more feminine
