Now this I like: inexpensive, serious-funny, uncontrived, smart. Did I mention hot?

Anonymous MaxW said ... (9:57 AM) :

The colour of that blue i mesmerizing.

Anonymous Julie said ... (10:03 AM) :

I love this kind of "tradic chic" look !

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:04 AM) :

I really love blue with brown. And very nice shot, as usual.

Greetings from switzerland

Blogger Giang said ... (10:05 AM) :

That pop of bright blue brings so much personality. He pulls off the hat as well.

Anonymous clifb said ... (10:22 AM) :

proof that its not all about screwball patterns, & a little bit of texture can save the day

Anonymous letterpreston said ... (10:36 AM) :

bold move on the blue shirt.

Blogger Thomas Modeen said ... (10:41 AM) :

Metrosexual Grunge - these street scenes really make me miss NYC...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:42 AM) :

He is a romantic, some kind of a poet..I like every part of this man, he sends a very honest image, I think

Anonymous davidsl said ... (11:21 AM) :

the fit isn't quite right, to me, but i like the look and dress like this often myself.

Anonymous zatman said ... (11:23 AM) :

he's a deadringer for Tom Waits don't you think?

Blogger Lauren said ... (11:45 AM) :

Such a refreshing note of color.

Blogger Not Required said ... (11:57 AM) :

Amish meets Indiana Jones.

Blogger Unknown said ... (12:09 PM) :

Cool look, very mismatched/thrift store/vintage chic. I like it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:21 PM) :

this look is turning into costume.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:48 PM) :

wonder if that's an old aarow shirt. they came in such amazing colors. I used to have a love who dressed very much like this. we called his look hobo chic. beautiful satchel he's got there.

Blogger Kasie said ... (1:38 PM) :

the color in your photos is great. I want his bag!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:39 PM) :

actually like the shoes any idea what those are?

Blogger Allen - East Hampton said ... (3:03 PM) :

Utterly uncontrived, or else he's really fooling a lot of us - or at least me. Was he surprised that you wanted to shoot him?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:12 PM) :

Hey Zach, looking sharp. This is Mr. Photog.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:16 PM) :

That look is really personal. Love the vest.

Blogger Unknown said ... (3:41 PM) :

channeling burroughs; come in william...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:03 PM) :

Sart,
repost this picture as B&W and use the caption below:

Circa 1940 - after having a bowl of soup at the local kitchen Stanley is going back to the shipyard to see about a job posting Craig listed on the job board.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:23 PM) :

Lol that's my cousin.

Blogger amyw said ... (4:27 PM) :

Love the monochrome + blue. He hit the nail on the head.

Blogger THC said ... (4:50 PM) :

Everything works but the shoes for me.

Blogger Manuel said ... (6:30 PM) :

Sorry . This Gentle,am is elegant?
colours, more colors
isssssssssssh

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:39 PM) :

SO cool, the really clever part is making that blazer of that colour look so great by carefully choosing everything else. Not just anyone could do that.

Anonymous Renee said ... (8:04 PM) :

Love the shock of blue with an otherwise neutral outfit. Makes it striking.

Blogger Tim McFarlane said ... (9:46 PM) :

That blue is a great compliment to the range of browns/tans he has on otherwise. The color of that vest is nice, too.

Blogger Tanya said ... (10:30 PM) :

Damb sart, you are so good at capturing the right expression!!

Blogger Unknown said ... (12:00 AM) :

I'm so impressed. I would never have picked out that blue but it works so well.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:21 AM) :

Inspiring. I'd absolutely wear this. (Though I need to learn pocket squares.)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:45 AM) :

that triangle of blue is outstanding

Blogger Bookworm said ... (1:10 PM) :

Love that classy pop of blue!

Blogger Gigio said ... (1:16 PM) :

he looks great. but im not sure i can manage to match black and brown. so i'd have changed the shoes, because if he removes the handkerchief from the front pocket in the jacked and then let the briefcase rest i think the shoes won't work with the look anymore.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:42 PM) :

Hard with a purpose, his gaze. He did not dress to impress, he always looked to the west for inspiration and smelled something in the air. Looking for his rosebud.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:36 PM) :

Zacky!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:40 PM) :

guy behind him looks better and much more naturally NY

Blogger Joy Mars said ... (3:45 PM) :

Everything works together very well.

The lighter jacket is surprisingly OK with the darker colors, probably because of shock of the turquoise.

But none of this would register without the fedora. It its a fedora, isn't it? Or is the brim too slim?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:51 PM) :

I thought Tom Waits right away too!

Blogger Nabeel said ... (12:35 AM) :

at first glance, he looks like the lead singer of Coldplay

Blogger Keli said ... (4:08 AM) :

love that blue poppin' out.

Anonymous Lucia said ... (3:32 PM) :

He looks like little bit from other century, but I like it. This combination of all parts of the clothes. :)

Anonymous Fabiana said ... (3:55 PM) :

THis is my favorite because he´s not trying that hard and handles the outlook just perfectly.

Anonymous David said ... (3:33 AM) :

Never underestimate the power of a good briefcase!

Blogger CarlyErin O'Neil said ... (11:49 AM) :

I get to look at that awesomesauce boy everyday....and this is just the tip of his fashion iceberg :)
