Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:58 AM) :

Again I say this with all the adoration in my heart - Asian men rules with confidence in their sense of style! Love the varied hues of blue in this man's wardrobe composition on a beautiful sunny day!

Blogger Petey said ... (10:00 AM) :

Ah, the ubiquitous cigarette. SO out of fashion.

Blogger thatsorad said ... (10:00 AM) :

I love his bag!! I always try and match like that with a little twist. I figure if I do that then I will always be pulled togeather no mater how crazy my outfit is.

PS I just posted my 100th post :) still so new at this but I have not invited you to check it out. now I have an excuse :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:07 AM) :

Those socks seal the deal.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:11 AM) :

Perfect on so many levels.

Anonymous The Photodiarist said ... (10:15 AM) :

Love his look. Want that schoolbag!

Blogger Lazooligirl said ... (10:19 AM) :

Doesn't battered old leather just always look cool with virtually any outfit?

Blogger A La Mode said ... (10:23 AM) :

Absolutely LOVE this! This outfit is amazing.

Blogger sparkle motion said ... (10:27 AM) :

i really like his bag, as well as his striped socks with his shoes!

Anonymous clifb said ... (10:28 AM) :

another man who looks to the past & finds sartorial perfection.

Blogger -h said ... (10:32 AM) :

Anonymous William said ... (10:42 AM) :

pu yi the last emperor is alive and well in new york???

Blogger Jorge from W Palm Beach said ... (10:44 AM) :

I love the jacket. In every outfit, there should be colors that absorb light (darker) and at least one element that irradiates it. I dont think there is anything here that brightens up the outfit, I would have chosen a white or very light blue button-down, but that's just me. What are other readers thoughts on very structured briefcases that look very worn, as is the case here? Jorge from WPB

Blogger Kristen Shaw said ... (11:00 AM) :

Oi this is perfect and works so well. The socks, the bag and the sunglasses are insanely good.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:04 AM) :

I'm inlove with his satchel.

Blogger Laurence John said ... (11:23 AM) :

perfect utilitarian chic.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:50 AM) :

Such a great look! This is all about the careful selection of color hues. The yellowish brown bag and shoes are such a beautiful contrast to the almost azure blue jacket. Very sensibly done!

Anonymous Xris said ... (11:56 AM) :

I am not in the habit of plugging a product, but if you love the bag, go to this site:

The best leather bags in the world. Hand-crafted, guaranteed for one hundred years. Beautiful

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:58 AM) :

Too dorky and too Mao-ish for my taste. The picture reminds me of Chinese Cultural Revolution. He must be Chairman Mao's great great grandson.

Blogger Antonio Barros said ... (12:10 PM) :

I love the shoes and the bag!

Blogger de Conchy said ... (12:32 PM) :

I love the sunglasses, wish I could pull them off too!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:34 PM) :

wonderful wistful expression--the outfit's great too

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:21 PM) :

I'm seeing him a lot around east village with his crazy bike. He always looks good and charming.

He is on with his bike!!

It is good to see outstanding guy like him instead of skinny grungy guy in New york

Anonymous finnandcash said ... (2:53 PM) :

Is it Hoon? I think it is! He was my student and he's always SO stylish!!!!!

Blogger bsa said ... (3:25 PM) :

the cap and the bag are the best pieces. The rest would be fine if he ewwas a peasant worker.

Blogger sofiasophie said ... (4:02 PM) :

on le dirait tout droit échappé du petit livre rouge.....
how funny!

Much much congrats for your book-signing, it looks like it was a very big event!
I hope your blog will be the same and suffer no changes (at least bad changes!)

Blogger DaniBP said ... (5:48 PM) :

The thing that makes your pictures so different is the very special attention you are able to pay to the light. Great for these fashion shots because we can really see the buttons which pick up the shoes which pick up the tortoise shell glasses which pick up the satchel. Love it.

Blogger Kristina said ... (6:02 PM) :

Chambray jacket... clutch! But free up your hands, and empty your pockets. The fantastic lines of this look are unfortunately being disrupted.

Blogger John Danner said ... (6:17 PM) :

the shoes and blues—oh my

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:36 AM) :

This would be such a great look for school.

Anonymous FvaD said ... (2:51 AM) :

In <3 with the Color Palette ..

Blogger George said ... (3:13 AM) :

That satchel, and in fact the entire look, are almost from a Tintin book. Which is to say that that this is almost timeless, and give or take a few details you'd be hard pressed to say which decade this man is from.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:19 AM) :

Great outfit.
Great Shot.

Anonymous The Stylist said ... (11:54 AM) :

Nice color palette

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:23 PM) :

He can be my boyfriend.

Anonymous Le 21ème said ... (3:16 AM) :

Awesome! Very very cool!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:47 PM) :

This is Hoon! He is an amazing artist from Korea. I did a residency with him this past summer and adore his creative style. Very excited to see his look captured here!

Anonymous ciarls said ... (7:35 PM) :

ADORO gli abbinamenti dei jappi.. hanno qualcosa di extra-europeo che solo loro sanno interpretare con gusto

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:06 PM) :

He looks like tintin!

Anonymous WickedBoston said ... (11:31 PM) :

The whole look seems really French. This could be from the fifties or sixties!

Blogger WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot said ... (11:44 AM) :

This pic reminded me that I have a lovely, honey coloured Bree satchel that my parents gave me for Christmas in 1989. It's been resurrected for my Fall 2009. Thanks for the reminder!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:07 AM) :

i like the bag, and the socks - rei ( :)

Blogger J said ... (1:25 AM) :
