This is gorgeous! So classic and fresh at the same time. lovely!

Blogger James Jean said ... (9:22 AM) :

Very simple. And her stance gives off an elegant vibe.....

Anonymous kelly said ... (9:27 AM) :

So well put together!

Blogger miss sophie said ... (9:34 AM) :

i have a serious crush on her shoes. she looks great and i love the glint of her watch with her skintone.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:35 AM) :

Chic, inspired by Mrs Obama, no?

Blogger Saffron said ... (9:45 AM) :

Gorgeous lady!

Anonymous greendress said ... (9:49 AM) :

Love it, love it, love it!

She is beautiful and sexy without trying too hard. The dress is extremely flattering and nicely accentuates her shape while the shoes look hot while not looking as if she is about to lose a toe or end up with bunions. And I love that the scarf echoes her nail polish.

Her entire look is perfect.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:51 AM) :

Well, that's interesting. Are those footless tights/leggings descending into the shoes? She is pretty and I like most of what she has on but I still hate light/white shoes, esp. after Labor Day!! I can't help it, seared by childhood memories of aunties in white oxfords! Style babies won't know what I'm talking about....

Blogger Old Housecoat said ... (9:54 AM) :

Top o' the mornin' to ya, Fashion Week!

I love this look from head to toe - so ladylike, so chic. It takes me back to a simpler, maybe sweeter time. Classic, that just enough, never too much ensemble that we should all emulate.

Blogger Nick Leonard said ... (9:59 AM) :

I like the dress & the scenery!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:03 AM) :

I love it! Why can't I find dresses like that in the Boulder, Colorado, area?

Anonymous Javier said ... (10:10 AM) :

How can you just not love NY???

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:12 AM) :

Gorgeous! Such a classic look! And the colors are flattering on her. She looks beautiful!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:14 AM) :

Beautiful woman/smile and the fashion is not killing her elegant personal style.

gladman

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (10:45 AM) :

Elegance in grey strikes again.

Blogger Pictures on Page said ... (11:10 AM) :

What a great look! I wonder if she's headed off to the tents or just to her office in midtown? Love it.

Blogger TheRealCherish said ... (11:12 AM) :

I have the same dress but it never looks this good on me.

Blogger Joan said ... (11:13 AM) :

What a beautiful shot...
I'd smile that pretty too if I was at Bryant park!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:15 AM) :

She is absolutely stunning.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:25 AM) :

Incredibly chic. Love this look. Such style, such elegance, such grace.

Really elegant and I love the colors.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:53 AM) :

Stunning

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:59 AM) :

She is very elegant and the cut of her dress makes her look tall (is she, like 5'5" to 5'7"? Love her skintone...I bet she has fantastic legs...

Blogger CassieMarie said ... (12:07 PM) :

SO beautiful, and she pulls it off effortlessly. Those shoes look like they would actually be fairly comfortable as well!

Blogger Well Done said ... (12:07 PM) :

splendor.

Blogger Janice said ... (12:17 PM) :

that scarf! and the way she wore it. and those shoes.

Anonymous GR said ... (12:19 PM) :

The color combination is great, it (the gray) makes everything pop!

Blogger Michael1style said ... (12:30 PM) :

This is a very elegant ensemble. The 'plum topping' on the grey is very regal, and I love the way the belt cinches at the waist to embrace her curvaceous figure.

Blogger sofiasophie said ... (12:42 PM) :

La classe!

Very stylish, very elegant

Blogger StyleSpy said ... (12:44 PM) :

Oh! Lovely! Just... lovely.

Blogger hi-d said ... (12:57 PM) :

Stunning, Beautiful, Classic!

Anonymous Stephen said ... (1:01 PM) :

Am I too old-fashioned in beleiving that a lady's shoes and bag should match...

Blogger beths said ... (1:05 PM) :

What a pretty way to wear grey in September! I agree with anonymous about the shoe color, and for the same reason--it just creates a dorky clunk factor to my eye. But the watch helps a bit by echoing the light accent.

Blogger GFS said ... (1:07 PM) :

LOVE THIS!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:14 PM) :

GORGEOUS. I love the double strap on the heels. I think that really makes the look in conduction with that style of dress. Perfect.

Blogger Anton Seim said ... (1:21 PM) :

That shot is GORGEOUS, and that gold watch is perfect.

Blogger hyc said ... (1:35 PM) :

I think this lady is the epitome of elegance.
She has such poise and every piece is put together very well!!
btw, what amazing shoes! :)

Blogger HW90 said ... (1:37 PM) :

Even though I am a man who doesn't wear dresses, I still find myself feeling envious of this woman. Such effortless sophistication. Love everything. But what really stands out with this lady is something coming from within.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:48 PM) :

Perfect in every way.

Anonymous Holly said ... (2:25 PM) :

Where is this dress from? It's perfect.

Blogger Unknown said ... (2:41 PM) :

Gorgeous--a perfect combination of colors to go along with her exquisite skin color.

Blogger shoe slut said ... (2:46 PM) :

the shoes look totally classy and chic!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:58 PM) :

Someone above commented on the fact she has white shoes after labour day. If the weather permits, WHY not?? I love these shoes and if women in London can wear black tights in the middle of summer than white shoes in September is good by me.

I love the back of the shoe. Anyone know the designer?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:06 PM) :

wow. beautiful.

Blogger Rebe said ... (3:37 PM) :

Absolutely timeless.

Blogger Nigerian Woman in Norway said ... (3:44 PM) :

it's refreshing to see someone dressed so elegantly in these trendy times. I love it!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:46 PM) :

Anonymous Hernandez said ... (4:00 PM) :

One word. Timeless!!

Blogger Rosalind said ... (4:13 PM) :

I love that timelessly classic grey dress! She looks so beautiful.. And such lovly heels too.
I really wish I could come to one of you book signings in london, but live too far away! Congratulations anyway..

Anonymous gina said ... (4:21 PM) :

Sorry, but the first thing I noticed was the droopy hem on the dress. It takes away from the perfection of such a chic dress.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:45 PM) :

lovely. so effortlessly pulled together and the color of the scarf and the gold watch make it perfect for today.

Blogger Lily said ... (4:57 PM) :

funnist.thing.ever.

Blogger Unknown said ... (5:07 PM) :

Her lovely smile and attitude are her best accessories. A great way to transition from summer to fall when the weather can switch from cool to torrid in a matter of hours.

Blogger Unknown said ... (5:34 PM) :

Such a classy, elegant lady.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:40 PM) :

the whole "no white (footwear) after labor day" prohibition has no chance against those shoes.

love this comment:

The 'plum topping' on the grey is very regal, and I love the way the belt cinches at the waist to embrace her curvaceous figure.

'plum topping' - yummy!

Blogger Loren said ... (6:17 PM) :

This looks like something that a character on Mad Men might wear, and that's meant in the best way possible.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:23 PM) :

She looks amazing! I love how all the colors match so well, and the outfit brings out her skin.

Near perfection .. if only her hem wasn't falling down

beautiful. elegant. chic chic chic!

Blogger rodrigo guzmán said ... (8:55 PM) :

She is absolutely beautiful!

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:15 PM) :

Such poise and grace. Clearly, this outfit accents her lines nicely. That must be a cardi around her shoulders, no? Nicely done.

Anonymous frankie said ... (9:15 PM) :

its very stylish and the woman is pretty but that bag looks terrible with those shoes but the scarf is amazing and makes the oufit have a bit of edge

Anonymous m.edwin said ... (11:23 PM) :

i love her simple combination of muted and rich tones. makes me impatient for fall.

Blogger GZ said ... (11:48 PM) :

the whole "no white (footwear) after labor day" prohibition has no chance against those shoes.

love this comment:

'plum topping' - yummy!

Wonderful! Plum is such an underused colour.

The comment about white shoes is spot on. The shoes also work much better as an off-white (pearl?) than they would in plain white, because they don't shout their whiteness to the world.

Anonymous Viv said ... (12:14 AM) :

elegant and beautiful

Anonymous John Agee Paris said ... (6:11 AM) :

Wish we could see more well-put-together ladies like this. Bravo, madame, whoever you are.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:42 PM) :

I want to be her! She is like an actress back in the day. Classy!

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:12 PM) :

Beautiful woman. Perfect.

Blogger sdfljslkdj said ... (5:12 PM) :

Okay, it's a bit wrinkly at the bottom, but that's okay! The color palette (grey and maroon) is a lovely match for the upcoming season and I love the style of her purse.

You know that Coco Chanel quote that high school and college girls basically preach? "A woman should be two things: classy and fabulous."

There are those who speak words, and there are those that follow through with action. This woman is a stunning example of the latter.

Blogger LuLi said ... (9:10 PM) :

Beautiful, classic, perfect in that woman.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:43 AM) :

Wow! I love it. Please more classic and well dressed ladies for the world.

Very nice posture - Not every woman can stand properly in a pair of heels but this lady carries it off effortlessly.

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:29 PM) :

Classic and sophisticated without being boring.

Blogger Divalocity said ... (12:16 AM) :

I'm so glad that the author has a skill for capturing real style. He captured the beauty and elegance of Shala Monroque and she is definitely a trendsetter. I also admire her personal style and wrote a Blog about her a few months ago along with a photo montage.
