Comments on "At Spurr"
Ahh, the men who can pull off cropped pants are few and far between. Which is probably a good thing. This guy looks effortless and great.
yummy
he looks so cool and his hair is the perfect colour!
Aren't they cute! Not the sort of cute one can be at age 58, but I can still enjoy the fun of it. Enjoy the cropped boy pants while you can if you like them ... these, too, will soon ebb away.
White pants after Labor Day, cigarette in hand, and shoes without socks...but I do like the shirt!
Maybe the shot that brings smoking back to its golden age? Maybe not, but, his shoes are awesome!
cute!
He looks great. The shoes on the woman he is talking to area also cool. There's an interesting detail on the back.
Delicious proportions. Delicious shirt pattern and colour. Delicious hair. Delicious watch. Bad shoes of badness. But overall, delicious. Or did I already mention?
He is red!
Is he wearing a Nomos Tangente?
Love this! So cute!!
i am all about the freckles and hair.
I like the pose's symbolism: stop girls! look at my phallic cigarette :-)
I wish George Alan would come back to the runway, I miss him!
the colours are great for his colouring - the pinky red and the brown shoes
and the pants just need to be longer
very rockabilly in all ways except the hair, watch and shoes. . .
Well put together yet simple. Effortless and he looks cool and casual. Sweet.
There's nothing better in this world than for a woman to see a man dressing perfectly for his shape. Love.
great look overall.. but something off about belt (and watch band) color vs shoe color.
I love his look...cigarettes and cancer really do keep you slim, non?
It's perfect! Italian style in New York City.

Strawberry blonde - how lovely...
I love his skin tone and his freckles! And the pink really complements him, unlike most redheads. He looks very chic.
very nice although I usually don't like white jeans (or white trousers in general).
fantastic
After labor day? tut tut
I totally adooore the colour-combo of his outfit!!
absolutely LOVE! so fantastic!
If only he weren't smoking. Everything else is great.
Could it be possible to show fewer photographs that include smoking? It is not the best accessory.
P.S. - LOVE the book and bought extra copies for friends.
I like this look. Cool, Calm and carefree.

Long live the Western shirt.
Love his outfit. He does amazingly good!
Off-topic, but could you do a feature on cufflinks? Vintage perhaps?
Looking forward to the book!
I think he looks great. I didn't notice the cigarette until I read all the nasty comments about it.
i actually thought off a 1950s american diner when i saw this. the subtle red and white checks, the healthy tan, the almost-coiffed-with-wax hair, and that hint of blue on the woman's scarf in the 2nd pic to round it all off.
i guess the cigarette fits in with that whole feel, but yeah, not that great to glorify the habit.
I love the red snaps on his shirt.
Haha, the first words that came to my head when I saw this was Tintin.
Is this the German actor Florian David Fitz or does this guy just look like him???
I desperately want that shirt, pray tell the maker.
Of course he's wearing white after labor day- he was born after 1970. He's youthful.
Good style, good hair, good shoes, and so good looking!
I like the freckles and the pointy nose...and the cigarette doesn't bother me, i think it makes it real and more Euro appeal. The pants are pretty great.A good look without trying too hard (always appealing)
He is stunning, what a handsome fellow.
Love this look! I guess you find more people outside smoking now that there are laws against it indoors.
i loved the cropped pants, and his friends marc jacobs heels are adorable!!

The only fault - and serious - on this this website: show many pictures with people smoking, it gives a bad example, since smoking is one of the worst evils which mankind has accepted as "normal." Currently, there is nothing elegant smoking. It's ugly and stupid.
Fix this please. Just use the "photoshop", and public health thanks.
L.
lovely!
white pants after labor day?
The only thing that would make this beautiful and well dressed man practically PERFECT...would be losing that cigarette.
Losing the cigarette seems to be a more popular theme on your blog these days.....maybe.....hopefully")
the henry holland look
Men who can pull off cropped pants ARE few and far between, but let's not forget the sine qua non of cropped pants -- Pee Wee Herman!
Personally I just love the shiney buttons!
http://fashionpearlsofwisdom.blogspot.com/
He's like a cheeky Tom Sawyer-esque character all grown up; into a stylish, though not quite jaded, young man.
Now THIS guy's got confidence. I love how, from the waist up, he looks like a Soc from The Outsiders, and from the waist down he looks like... well, he just looks amazing. I adore the shoes.
Nevermind, I adore it all. (:
Sorry to "go there", but between the red hair, freckles, and red gingham shirt, it looks like Howdy Doody has grown up...and he's smokin'!
if any of you sanctimonious non smokers are under the slightest impression that your tut-tutting and sneering self-righteous disapproval is getting anyone to consider quitting...
well, it just seems such a waste of all that extra energy, vim and vigor that you lot are supposed to have.
i love this outfit it so nice
and put together so well
it looks effortless

well done...white pants after labor day cigarette and all. all those rules are out the window now and he looks amazing.
amazing. white pants after labor day cigarette and all. all those rules are for the boring folks. well done!
mmm mmm! i LIKE this guy! everything is so simple and clean, but soo soo perfect!!

"When you're a Jet, you're a Jet all the way!"
simple and cute
that guy is amazing. so james dean
I LOVE the shoes. They're worn in so well, with so much character.
the pink shirt goes so well with his hair color. i also love the length of the pants with the shoes
gingers should wear red more often. it shows confidence without being cocky. its also nice to see a cropped pant that doesn't follow the haphazardly-rolled trend. i love these photos.
love the cropped pants but especially his hair! so gorgeous

Shame about the cigarette - always spoils the shots.
This guy is just SUPERB!! CONGRATULATIONS!! Beautiful combinations of colors and the shoes...!! Man..i don't have words!!
oooh. i like the outfit very much. i might try it one of these days. haha.
not many men can pull off pink this well, let alone white pants.
well done.
Man, I wish to pull stuff off like this. Perfect or really close to it at least.

God, what a doll.
Scrumdiddlyumptious. Also an outfit that can be translated into womenswear.
Those shoes are where it's at.
His look is simple, yet somehow he makes it his own.
And those white pants!! very lovely and well cut...
This is such a clean and fresh look!! :)
His oxfords are really nice, too <3
This is probably one of my favorites. But not many could pull that off
Another rebel without a cause :)

mmm. Cutie. Looks likes half of these comments are about his actual looks, not his clothes. :)
Cool, young, slim, and sexy things. All of a sudden I feel old and fat.
Cigarettes always expand the sophistication. Would it were otherwise.
He looks like quite a beauty now...but will he still be as well dressed when he is pulling an oxygen tank around in his later years?
Gorgeous. And she's not bad either.
you can tell he knows he looks good. confidence is the best accessory. i'm amused by the requests to not include smokers in your blog as it sets a bad example. if a photo on a blog is all it takes for kids to start smoking, that's a reflection on the parents. i've never been to NYC, but isn't there a stereotype that new yorkers smoke?
Ah, this look is so wonderful! I love that he chose white pants instead of denim. I think the pants are cropped a little too high, but it doesn't matter. He pulls of this gorgeously sexy 50's look with panache.
I'm not a smoker and I personally don't approve of it, but suggesting that the Sartorialist excludes photos of people with cigarettes or photoshops them out is pretty ridiculous. I guess we all have our crazy opinions though; for me it's tattoos that ruin a perfectly good photograph.
so cool! And I love the vibe of the second picture.
...definitely dig his style, the shirt, the shoes, the watch (could be a Glashütte NOMOS Tangente, indeed) the fit of his trousers - BUT the color is a little bit... eeww

his hair, the brick wall, the buttons on his shirt, the shirt itself, his skin tone. Its crazy how they all work together in one palette. I love it.
plus, he's pretty cute
Those shoes, those pants, and that shirt.J'adore.
http://tresfraisnajee.blogspot.com/
Love the body language...
He is making me think of all those boys that dressed similarly back in the late 50's - early 60's.
Very cute.
And I love that pink.
I agree - what a sanctimonious lot. And to the person who actually suggested that the cigarette be Photoshopped out of the picture! Shame on you. Like or not, the boy was smoking a cig, and it is the photographer's job to document, not to change reality. And really, if you don't like smoking, just don't.
(PS, I'm not a smoker. So there.)
(PPS, the whole "Don't wear white after Labor Day" rule is antiquated and lame. It's the 21st century, people.)
All that crap aside, HOW CUTE IS HE. I love everything about his outfit, especially all the cuffing and rolling going on.
Following on from an earlier Sart posting, I love the watch - modern lines but classic: silver with a leather band. Does anyone know which brand it is?
i like that the watch band and belt match and his shoe and hair color match. That's aside from the great shirt. One of my favorites so far.
Loooooove his shoes, love her shoes
Nice colors, nice style...very smooth.
Really like it

Sorry, capri pants are never right on a man. They just aren't.
He's definitely hit a bullseye...which I hate. And the cigarette is never cool, just tells me he smells poorly. Much more interested in the understated lady with the cool shoes and splash of scarf against the plain white tank. She's sheik, he's geek. As always, beautiful photo.
Love Love Love it
perfect (minus the cigarette)
ThomasDistrict.blogspot.com
effortlessly matched with white jeans (which i normaly hate)and a pink shirt (which i always love). te amo !
I'm not gonna lie dude looks very cool. I'm felling the cap toe
http://www.justnorman.blogspot.com/
the blog that no one knows about
Ask him to marry me, please, he is perfection.
babe.
nice fit, although those shoes are a bit too trendy.
Sart, please don't stop capturing life just as it is, cigarettes (gasp!) and all. Like his smoke, that debate is getting stale.
so pulled together! u should always work the hair colour, i know it too, im also a redhead.
though it sure looks like he thought it all through (is that spell correctly?) seems to me, as a postcard of casual confidence creates elegance
Enough of health fascism on the fashion site! Lighten up, people, tut-tut your families, please. You are bores.
i love the white tiny jeans!
let's get over the cigarette. it's about fashion--and his, well it's beautiful :)
I REALLY don't think for one minute that Sart is "glorifying" smoking, for chrissakes. A lot of people happen to smoke nowadays, and some of them just happen to look good.
Interesting comments
He looks like a nice guy.
All these anti-smoking comments make me feel SICK - ironically!
Get a life people - showing photos of people smoking isn't glorifying it, it's a fact of life. You don't like smoking? THEN DON'T SMOKE!
I never have smoked and never will but I don't have anything against looking at photos of people smoking. I have my own will and make up my own mind - pictures of fashionable people smoking do not make me think that "smoking = fashion."
I'm sorry that most of you might fall into that category.
Too many freakin' bleeding-heart PC bullies out there - chill out and let everyone live their lives.
Including this find young man, and Sart.
PS I think Kevin at 5:58 said it better than I just did :)
what a beautiful young man! his hair is gorgeous, and he dresses himself so well with his colouring + body. love the single cuff on the white pants.
this guys's style is unquestionable. wish i could also pull-off this look - rei (theanne69@yahoo.com) :)
