Love the way Italian men wear their double breasted coats. Kudos on the eyewear.

Blogger Cristi Silva said ... (5:39 PM) :

I love how he is standing, very Civil War portrait status.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:41 PM) :

great look...
love the blazer and love his watch ...!!!

Anonymous de Marco said ... (5:44 PM) :

I think this gentleman simply looks "good" when he could look "great." Though nice and crisp and clean, his ensemble is a bit boring; it's begging for an accent piece like, oh I don't know, a bright orange pocket square, or something of that ilk to break the dichrome monotony. He just looks like he needs something fun! (And, too, he does need a larger knot to fill the void left by the cutaway collar.)

Still, he looks nice. Boring, but nice. :)

Anonymous holly said ... (5:44 PM) :

Nothing says summer style better than white pants, unless they have the added touch of navy...Great silhouette

Blogger Bookworm said ... (6:16 PM) :

That is so sharp. I love navy blue and white together, and I'm an especially big fan of jackets like that. How crisp and professional!

Anonymous Isobel Saoirse Dylan said ... (6:20 PM) :

The jacket looked real good on him, and I love that his light blue shirt sleeves pop out under his jacket. The way only one button is used to hold the jacket together makes the look a little less stiff.
I like the way his hair and glasses look together.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:23 PM) :

perfect.

Oh how I love this! Looks so structured yet comfortable at the same time.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:50 PM) :

I really dig the cut and sheen of this jacket..the patch pockets add the perfect level of informality to add to the additionally casual air that the white pants lend to the outfit. This man's proportions are beautifully framed in this jacket.

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:55 PM) :

I LOVE that double breasted blazer. the white pants pulls it all together.

I love this look clean look, especially the double breast jacket. Wonder whether he's wearing spectators or loafers without socks.

Blogger kahartland said ... (8:37 PM) :

ooh, crisp indeed! only a real man can wear white pants ;) the jacket sort of reminds me of a flight attendant tho...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:39 PM) :

I wish he had a nicer watch though...

Anonymous Diego Pachen said ... (8:43 PM) :

I feel the sleeve length of the jacket gives this ensemble a rather cramped look.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:49 PM) :

Getting a little heavy on the man posts Sart, let's see some more ladies!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:17 PM) :

I will be living in Italy soon and I can't wait to be around people who dress like this on the daily.

Blogger BobKentNoVa said ... (9:23 PM) :

This looks great. I love the blazer's blue hue. However, I avoid double breasted blazers because a man really can't get away with wearing it unbuttoned in the front... a real drag on a hot summer day.

Blogger Barbara said ... (9:26 PM) :

loving the summer suit looks

Blogger JP said ... (9:27 PM) :

Anonymous mrmiles said ... (1:14 AM) :

ok, this is perfect....not a thing wrong as far i can see...

Blogger Andre Gorr said ... (1:14 AM) :

whole image is nice, well done, standing out of the crowd, but
all together look very vintage for me... especially blazer, and its proportions... not a "tres chic", unfortunately....

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:22 AM) :

So NERDY chic! I love it! Obviously it had to be Italy! The blue and white combination gives it away without even letting us know! I love the double breasted blazer! So elegant!

~double breasted suit on this color is perfect.. it matched the white trousers and black framed glasses - such a classic look, so timeless.

Blogger James Jean said ... (2:16 AM) :

Wow.......

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:26 AM) :

This is one that I don't really care for. I seem to be the only one who isn't a fan of that double-breasted blazer. To me, it makes him look wider, and something about it reminds me of these smocks that healthcare professionals wear. Love the glasses, though.

Blogger Katya said ... (3:57 AM) :

These clothes suit him and he looks like very beautiful! And colours are nice.

Anonymous bird of light said ... (5:39 AM) :

I want to move to Florence! No seriously, I like everything, mostly his gaze. The blue/white combination is singing a song!:)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:02 AM) :

I love how formal his outfit seems
It's ever so classy!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:51 AM) :

No. No. No. Something about his whole outfit is wrong and I'd say it's the fact that the jacket is shiny AND double-breasted AND has huge lapels. Too much and too fuzzy. The rest is good. A sharp black jacket and he would look great.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:52 AM) :

Henceforth and forthwith there is no reason to photograph any other male, Monsieur.

You have essentially captured the most classic, the most elegant, the most masculine ensemble a man with coglioni could possibly ever wear. That's it! There's nothing left. That's all a man needs.

That's essentially what I wear in summer even when I go jogging or mountain climbing.

By the way, ladies and gents... if I'm not mistaken, that is a rather stunning choice of watch as it's a Rolex. No need for introductions.

Over and out.

love the suit, love the cut...not sure if it works on him.

Blogger Raul Villalobos said ... (10:14 AM) :

Absolutely Fantastic. Wonderful foto......... Love the Blue and White ... the buttons everything as you say Crisp. While I don't think I could pull off the white pants, I love it. I find the light blue shirt along with the white and the blue is incredible. Hats off

Anonymous tj said ... (10:19 AM) :

Double breasted can be a bit warm for the summer, but cotton/linen can make it comfortable enough.
I would have selected a colorful print tie to add some pop.
The pants fit him well.
Did the flash from the camera make 3 of the 4 jacket buttons appear to be a different color than the
4th button?

Anonymous Verdiales said ... (10:28 AM) :

double-breasted on a hot summer day is masochistic.

Blogger Julia said ... (11:03 AM) :

I wouldn't trust him. He has a sort of Tom Ripley from The Talented Mr. Ripley complex. The watch isn't quite right- lacking a sort of refinement. The blue fourth button on his jacket reveals something a bit makeshift. It's as though he wants to be found out to be a fraud. It's a cry for help! I will give you this though- the photo does inspire the imagination!

Blogger James Taylor said ... (11:08 AM) :

Love this outfit, especially the white buttons on the jacket! I can't help feel that the watch is too big, but I suppose it's a sporty look so I'll forgive him! FIR-EN-ZE!

Blogger hc said ... (12:54 PM) :

double breasted is still a resounding 'no!' on wall street. that said, conventions were made to be tested.

smart pant color to keep the two tone.

Blogger Jazzbuff630 said ... (1:13 PM) :

Perfetto!

Blue and white always looks rignt!

Anonymous Hostwisely said ... (3:25 PM) :

The picture shows really how a great fashion is really an important tool in making one's characteristic will be boost.

This always means how important the right way you dressed, even just crossing the sidewalks.

I love the colors, the fit of the pants, the rolex. Only the style of his jacket is bothering me somehow.. Its the way it closes and it doesn't look very fitted, i would have rather chosen a simple blue blaser jacket, well fitted.

Blogger A Super Dilettante said ... (11:44 AM) :

A piece of art - perfection. Loving this short blazer. I've always prefered body fit and short cut blazer.

Anonymous John said ... (6:59 PM) :

I think the lapels are too big for a jacket so slim, but what do I know, I'm just some podunk american

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:52 PM) :

I am amazed at the lack of understanding re: the double-breasted blazer. One never buttons all the buttons on a db jacket, or if one does, one also probably sports a belt and braces at the same time. This jacket is amazingly well tailored and perfectly fitting on this modern update (the slim cut of the trousers) of a timeless classic.

Blogger crowsfeet said ... (12:58 AM) :

What a beautifully composed shot - and a beautifully composed subject.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:20 AM) :

Double breasted a vesuvian mistake in summer? Not at all, gents. From here, 16500 kilometers away, it looks like a blend of linen and silk and most likely only half lined.

Anonymous ronan the librarian said ... (12:20 AM) :

those lapels are HUGE but they look great... i really enjoy this blog but sometimes the people that dont "get" the Sart shouldn't bother...

Anonymous ronan the librarian said ... (12:26 AM) :

... and I dont think those buttons are white, it's the reflection of the light on them...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:27 AM) :

Well, Maliha, Italian men have reason to dress well. No, let us say that they have a duty to dress in harmony with their rich heritage and environment both heavily steeped in the arts. Dressing well, in fin dei conti, is art.

They are surrounded by art. Theirs is a valiant attempt to blend to their surroundings.

I like the play on tones with the shades of navy. It's a rarity to see wide peak labels anywhere. One would assume that he would've pulled this off with the typical white shirt (which I would've personally done...the buttons look white) but he flipped the script. Good job.
