Comments on "On the Street.... Mr. Rubinacci, Florence"
the velvet... the loafers, the pants! the jacket. awesome mix of textures and colours.
love the shot of cobalt blue in this classic ensemble. Italians have such a flair for color.

You know Scott, this is a difficult thing to say, but I think he is my favorite of your regulars. He's just so cool and hot at the same time and he has style to burn (eg. he can wear a chocolate brown tie with electric blue pants and make them look harmonious)!
This was hard cos it was a tie between him and Giovanna, plus there are the other other favs like Yasmin Sewell and Eva etc but I think, for me, he wins.
incredible colour
he looks amazing
i love his expression
I love those blue pants! It's such a fabulous color. I thought it was just going to be a man in a plain old suit... The blue pants were so unexpected!
where in florence are there velvet armchairs just sitting in the street?
Love the slippers. Belgian Shoes out of NYC?
just amazing.
What an interesting colour combination. The deep teal shoes seem to ground the entire look.
WOW!!! I love the pants and shoes...Very suave
someone please tell me that the beauty of his pants (which is such an amazing pop of color) and the tie/bow on the shoe doesn't look amazing--- i clearly need those pants in my life...and if they come in shorts
...B/c Italians do it better......
Quite nice.
The shoes: Fantastic. The trouser...well and the tie..well. But an italien guy is able wear this in his own class of style.
that blue is just so stunning
The shoes kind of don't go with that outfit but I love the color of those pants. The bracelets also add a nice touch.
I can very much appreciate the blue pants, it brings something new to the party.. Also the small wristbands in combination with the outfit remind me of a some great outfits I've seen this summer.. lovely!
I love the colour of the trousers.
hugs
Great Picture! The deep saturated blue pants against that green velvet. Beautiful....and the shoes! Muah!
xx
I love how all the fabrics in the outfit are of more or less the same weight, they seem to go together very well. It appears that both shirt and jacket have some sort of plaid on them? Interesting combination. He is wearing Belgian Loafers, which are always identifiable, togehter with Stubbs and Wootton. Love the outfit! Jorge from WPB
So blue! Not what I expected when I first scrolled down to see the photo. I like it with the brown tie.
Love the pants and the loafers, not crazy about the upper half. When you have such an outrageous lower half, you really have to watch out what you do above the waist.
That blue hurts my eyes, but I LOVE it. Kinda like the way wasabi hurts your nose - but it hurts so good.

Very dashing and the Belgian loafers are a perfect accent to the look.

Great surname. Rubinetto is italian for faucet. Rubinaccio, I do believe, is a pejorative for Rubinetto. Rubinaccio could be translated as "Ugly faucet."
I love how blunt some Italian surnames are. As a kid I used to have a friend whose surname was Mezzatesta which, I'm not kidding, translates into "Half head."
Oh, yeah... I would mug him for that blazer.

Those pants are stunning!
Electric!
That's a great shade of blue..very vibrant.
*Electric blue..i love it! :)
Love, love, love the play of colour. I love the contrast of the blue in the shoes.
Love Love the Belgian Shoes. I have wanted a pair for years. Outside of Isaac, I am seeing them more and more.
I love those bright blue pants! What a way to add a subtle hint of humor!
i love with the shoes.
p.s. could you please tell Garance to come back into my life? thank you :)
Wow. What a shot. I wish I knew what he was thinking/looking at or even what plan he was devising. Those pants...yes.

That is the best blue I have ever seen on a trouser. NEED.
I mostly like the color-combination, and his shoes. Great picture!
Cobalt/electric blue is one of the key shades being promoted for men in the coming fashion seasons. This man is my inspiration!
i love the color of his pants and the fact that it's the most colorful thing in his outfit.
I love cobalt blue so his pants are incredible to me.
http://fashionroadkill-halifax.blogspot.com
Love the Belgians and the cobalt color, but the rest ain't happening for me - a little too disjointed.
Can someone tell me where one can get pants with such brilliant bright color saturation. I've been looking for some time now, with no luck. Thanks!
The blue of the pants seems too intense for a camera to even deal with. So cool!
the pants are fabulous.
yves klein blue never dies :)
ohh sweet calculated gauche. always love it when the pant gets jealous of the jacket for attention, and does something about it.
Those pants are electrifying!...

i adore his electric blue pants
Completely unexpected, completely fresh. Perfect texture juxtaposition.
What a surprising pants.
blue pants. hot.
He's pretty bold to wear those pants. You have to respect that!

Note the unbuttoned cuffs. Cheers to Mr. Rubinacci for that.
Great shoes!!
Best!
Jose
those pants are perfect! i think i need them in my life
http://almostlikesushi.blogspot.com
who needs a sky or sea with trousers like these.
Anish Kapoor couldn't have dyed them better.
what a brilliant blue! is it the work of your camera or are those pants genuinely BLUEBLUE?
awesome!

This man has such impeccable sense of style, time and time again he never disappoints.
Once again Sartorialist (aka Sultan of street style), an amazing shot.
so amazingly european. im in love with the pants
Love the vibrant blue trousers, the suede shoes and the staple blazer! In theory it shouldn't work, but in photo it looks great!
http://sequinsandbangles.blogspot.com
Wow. Great pants
I have wanted a pair of Belgians ever since Glen O'Brian wrote about them in GQ in 2002. got my first pair last week. Worth...every...penny. ALREADY saving for the second pair.
Best shoes of my life.
nice to see Belgian shoes outside of the US...
I am going to start following this man's Golden Rule...wear something that pops!! I like the pants, the jacket could be livelier, but consider this source of such style. Mr. R could make brown burlap look like the newest style you want to own. One of your finer subjects!!
Amazing!!!
Bright blue+exposed angles=guaranteed position on the Sartorialist.
HE LOOKS GORGEOUS. HIS PANTS JUST MAKE THE OUTFIT WORK SO WELL. GREAT STYLE

I just lost my hearing. Those pants are too loud.
where did the chair come from? love its deep forest green velvet.
Oh, That color!!! Amazing!

Hi, These velvet loafers are from a company in Florence called Arfango and they have a shop in St Tropez, I distribute them in the UK. Fox from London
When you travel to the Nether Shores of Colour Coordination you can risk getting very lost.
And I suspect the risks he takes are more enjoyable for us than they are for him. I mean, do you want to be doing business and looking down at those trousers all day?
Again, bare feet in suede looks overwhelmingly sweaty. At least he can slip his feet out for air when no one is looking, unlike the gentleman below, whose poor feet are trapped.
Yves Klein pants!?
Bellissimo, wunderschön, wonderful the blue color of the pants! Goodies shoes!
WOW!AWESOME!!!!
The color of the pants, wow!
le sigh...Luca always makes me swoon.
http://www.ten-thousand-things.blogspot.com
once my attention was taken away from the pants, I notice the shoes...stunning.
I'd love to see this man standing up. Whe I first saw this photo, all I really notices was the bright blue pants. Coming back to it today I realize the three different shades and of blue perfectly set off by the two shades of red, not to mention all the different and luscious textures. Beautiful. Andersonesque.
A man wearing pants this color... everything he says to you, you must listen to with undivided attention. I love it!
Welcome back, Luca! Great as always.
THAT BLUE!
ah-mazing!

Ditto to what Scott W said. I've been looking for the sartorial interpretation of Yves Klein's famous blue. Does anybody make these pants in a women's 28, or any women's clothing in this color for that matter?
Wow - ballsy pants. Love the softness of the jacket - it looks as comfortable as a favorite pair of flannel pj's (but so much better!)

Great photo Sart. Those trousers and tassel loafers look smashing together. The electric blue colour of the pants, in particular, makes me dream electric dreams. The chap's haircut isn't bad either. Beautiful.
the pants are electric!!
its all about the tie and shirt+ collar combination to me!
A case of the pants wearing the man. And a too long tie running down his lap trying to escape the whole mis-managed wardrobe scenario.
how did the chair/shoe thing happen?
I'm not too impressed, but his tan is redeeming, providing welcome contrast to his jacket, pants and tie.. he looks comfortable, and that's endearing.
Glorious pants and utterly intriguing color combination.
Suede loafers without socks somehow look cool, temperature-wise, in a way hard leather loafers do not. Do they breathe better? They also look vastly more comfortable.
This is a nice palette. And it works really well with his coloring.
This color scheme works well because of Mr. Rubinacci's deep blue eye color which is hard to tell from this picture. People forget or never even consider that their eye/hair color works well to bring out colors not necessarily associated with general color palettes...
So those of you rueing about your red hair, get over it and be expressive!
Those blue pants and loafers are amazing!! :)
Man, I love this outfit! The blue trousers really pops just right. Great textures, also.
A long time reader - I've never commented before - but. those. pants. !
beautiful colour of the pants !!
i want it ; ))
hugs
blue pants: bingo.
pants = amazing
brilliant. not many people could pull this bright color off and he does it! love it.
he is one of my favorites.
Oh wow, I love cobalt but this, in particular, is impossibly bright. Amazing.
*gasp* blue pants are rocking my world right now - so much so that i composed a soliloquy about them not long ago...hope you get a chance to read it!
http://conspicuousconsumptions.wordpress.com/2009/06/16/new-blue/
just lovely! italian men can get away with almost every look!
One of your best.
whew! those are some briches!!

The slip ons are in fact from Rubinacci - yes they are almost exactly the same as the Belgian shoes out of NYC but these come in suede and the lighter colours all have contrast piping. Have a pair from Rubinacci in Mount Street that are grey with deep burgundy contrast. Very smart man this Mr R.
Hate the outfit, despite all the glowing comments.
The blue pants take over the entire persona, dividing the man entirely in half...I like a jolt of color, but this is ridiculous.
I am outnumbered in my opinion, but wonder if it is not the man's reputation for dress or your photography that is bringing in the high marks.
Confidence is very sexy...don't you think?
Can't believe what I see, I'm really impressed.
Indeed Italians have the best style.... look at the allure. I am not Italian.
