Comments on "On the Street.... Anna Piaggi"
Yes, a little over dramatic ;-)
- but so authentic!

Love it! I feel the uniquely European fantastic theatre tradition of jesters , mimes and cirque coming through.
wow she's just great !!!
Very nice mix!

She's on her own plane...and that jacket!! I need one in my life!!
I love her, she is a genius!!
she is always amazing!what a woman!!!
She´s special!Do you know?.xx
she is my icon. i wish isabella blow had been able to live to this age and continued her own flair too.
She's just fantastic! Always fun to see what she will wear next!

I agree she does it in a way no one else could, so unabashed but at the same time honest. She's uber "couture". I could NEVER (nor would I even try) to pull off her look, but it definitely gives some yummy food for thought.
The jacket is genius.
hmm she is a character isnt she? i envy that she can so effortlessly wear such a, well, interesting outfit. ;)

Fashion's last eccentric?
http://fashionroadkill-halifax.blogspot.com
Anna is so theatrical, but yet so true.. A real guru.
oh myyy
Lovely! Very dramatic. H&M actually has a jacket very similar to that one out now. At least in Stockholm.
Price tag and patterns aside, I really think that you can only look good in something you believe you look good in. This woman knows she looks good and her face says it all; "Go ahead. Try and tell me I don't look fantastic. See what happens."
Superlative
Chanel jacket... I could die for it!!!
She dares to be herself, which I think is amazing. Her style is beyond Avantgarde.
http://bettesvintageline.blogspot.com/
She may not be young in body but her outlook on life is fresh.
She is much more than that!
Anna Piaggi is also a lovely and kind lady!
Rocking a handful of trends in ONE outfit. I need to try this!
Yes! But the Jacket rules! I couldn't have gone without making a copy for my 'military jacket' themed blog - "Armed Beauty" (www.armedbeauty.blogspot.com). Thank you, SARTORIALIST!!!
She is so eclectic and so very theatrical! I adore her hats!:-)))
Seeing her makes me miss Isabella Blow all the more.
Thanks doll,
The Glamorous Housewife
Incredibly dramatic! But pretty fantastic.
Am I the only one who wants her as my aunt/grandma?
many people love her just because they know who is she, what if you see a perfect stranger dressed like this...?it would probably be the target for the critics of the fashionable shallow people who follows the rules of the day.
She creates, what fashion should be doing all the time
Great look if you want to be mistaken for the bookkeeper at Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium on her lunch break...
I've always loved this woman, I feel so stylistically repressed every time I see her. sigh.
Oh Dear Charlotte, I was thinking the same thing... this woman made me wish we could've seen a lifetime more of Issy Blow!
WHat does she do?
x
She truly is the Mad Hatter! OTT for sure, but that's Anna1
Love Anna Piaggi's eclectic and inspiring style! Her retrospective in London at V&A was amazing

I just adore Anna
She looks like she could be a character from one of Hayao Miyazaki's cartoons. Very interesting look!
aww, she's such an extravaganza i ADORE her. i don't think she's dramatic, i actually believe she's one of the last people in the fashion industry to be wearing what they love wearing and have their own little history of style! i've seen her at the chanel boutique she was stunning such an amazing icon and beautiful creature. continue inspiring us anna!
Wow, she put together everything what's possible: Westwood, Galliano and Dior and stuf... really special...
i love her turqoise and gold-tipped cane! and the admiral jacket is pretty awesome - only she could rock this look and pull it off :)
I can only hope to be so creative and free at her age!
she wears it well. on anybody else it would be weird, but on her it's just.. natural :)
The blue walking stick is ace. Can we have a series of Icons Over 50 please?
Dude, she's a circus clown. But I love it.
I don't find her dramatic...I consider her to be a true artist. Most people wouldn't even have the guts or know how to put something like this together...let alone actually wear it. True art is when we create things others cannot...or would not.
Talk about someone that embraces her own unique style sense...You've got to love it...it makes me happy
Interesting and eccentric, yes. But the work that went into putting together this assemblage is blatantly evident--and that, in turn, exhibits a lack of a certain je nais sais qua.
The tilt of the hat is wonderfully amusing, though--as is the bright cupid's bow mouth.
Anna's nothing but perfect, from the top of her hat the soles of her shoes!
She's just so damn cool.
http://flowergirlfashion.blogspot.com/
She reminds me of a theatre and/or drama teacher/lecturer. As a student for so many years I've come to realise that teachers of the arts are always the most sartorial.
xxx
I am reminded of Vivienne Westwood. Sharp & bold.
i can't wait for roisin murphy to age a few decades
true artist
It may be dramatic, but you cannot deny that the jacket is tres chic, n'est-ce pas?
Dear God!
There's something about this that reminds of a Cockney King or Queen.
La Piaggi...does it get any better? I think not.
AMAZING. what a dame
oh my good god, I love this. texture. confidence. fun, blatant shameless fun.
I Love it, she dne well
In the words of Rachel Zoe: "Bananas but I die"...
I love Anna Piaggi - fearless & artistic. She wears characters, esp love her French & Italian Poiret looks.
Unbelievable! She's truly one of a kind! :)
xx
More power to her! :)
When I see her, I do not enjoy her appearance. Am I the only person on the planet who thinks this? At the same time, I applaud Anna Piaggi (and all others) for wearing what makes them feel wonderful and alive.
Whoa! This woman is so out of control! But its quite the fun look! =P
over the top never looked so damn good.
Camp without the campiness. Great.
what a legend!
Lovely. She looks like Miss Haversham from the Charles Dickens novel Great Expectations, who didn't sit around waiting in her wedding dress, but got out and about the city looking fab.
she's magnificent. thank you.
Confidence... you can wear anything, no matter what if you have confidence. This is what she has & portrays without any question.
I want this photo on my wall.
she is perfect in every way - every time.
so pretty - love to u anna x
She is a style icon!!!!
Wow, I can't believe you caught her. So gorgeous.
She does this well! Polka and military is so darn cool!
cat call
Yeah, there's a bit of Anna Piaggi in all of us. There's also a bit of that stare in all of us which down in the streets could frighten the horses.
-Pietro
Seperate each piece anyone can wear, but all put together only someone of unshakable confidence and artistic flare could wear these clothes and maintain the air of an aristocrat. Well done dear.
http://www.zazzle.com/alloamora*.
She's a character.
I would just kill to see her closet - Anna Piaggi is always superb.
I love that her outfits are never something that you quickly glance at; they deserve a nice long stare to truly appreciate the thought that goes into putting them together.
she's a "vintage" version of betsy johnson (or perhaps boy george?? :)
The circus is in town. Awe hell, she is happy. Maybe we can learn something?
All older women should dress like her.
there is no such thing as over dramatic. I hope I have this much sass when I'm that old.
and ps. absolutely YES to whoever said she looks like a miyazaki character! a very old spirit of questionable morals...
FAB-U-LOUS! Wow!
This is a joke right? Cirque De Soile is calling her. I am sure she is a lovely lady and a daring one but I would be concerned if my grandmother went out of the house like that, I would have to consider the medication she is taking.
Nice to know she recycles her hats-- I took this one of her 2 years ago in Paris:
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_0fHn0pg7aVw/Sfkb5NFPBZI/AAAAAAAAAWk/PvX_jEDESX0/s1600-h/piaggi.jpg
jamais ce trop pour une vrai icon...!
It's a bit too Cirque Du Soleil cast-member for my liking, but without a doubt evokes a smile!

I'm imagine her with LADUREE macaroons :)
www.instyle-agent.blogspot.com
Someone stole my polkadots!
love the jacket
heart her!
Love the jacket and polka dots! :)
she is amazing
one style icon

alan nei
exactly! wat u said..........
A Sartolialist pic to be remembered.
I totally agree with ohdearcharlotte - this is Isabella Blow if she had lived to this age. Far too over the top for me - she just looks ridiculous. She's not chic and her makeup is horrific. But she's daring, and is obviously confident in her eccentricity, so full marks for that.
it's so great to see someone who dresses for themselves- she obviously has fun with style and doesn't care what people think. and the hat and makeup are fantastic!
it's a costume for a role she plays. but it isn't clothing.
um, WHERE can i find a hat like that ?
I remember seeing her on the 20/20 segment with Anna Wintour. it was kind of sad, the interviewer mocked those who dressed as you said "over-dramatic" but hello, it's fashion. she doesn't look pretentious and overdone which can't be said for many people nowadays.
there is only one anna piaggi
someone forgot her meds again
She is perfect because she is true to herself, much as Edith Sitwell was. I do love me an eccentric dame.
Love love love that hat!
And the mix of the polka dots and the leopard print bag etc is wonderful.
J'adore her! Talk about "individual stye"! she is fearless. she's my fairy godmother...seriously!
She really is phenomenal. I love how this is her look and it stays with her. No-one else can emulate this.
She
is
AWESOME

love this anna piaggi is a true icon

legendary
It's the emperor's new clothes all over again.
She is such a popular photo op in the fashion world...but does this woman ever look like she's enjoying the attention she obviously takes such pains to attract? She always looks like she's never having any fun! Her face is always so dour. Whenever I see her I wonder: "What is this woman actually about, anyway?!"
ICONIC!!!

I LOVE ANNA BUT CAN'T MEMORIZE A SINGLE OUTFIT.SHE ALWAYS LOOKS THE SAME.
Fantastic to see Anna being Anna.
Memories of a great dinner with her and Vern Lambert in Verns basement apartment in Milan. Both beautiful friendly souls, Anna wearing a Jenny Kee ensemble to make us feel at home (Aussies). The most amazing collection of fashion I had ever seen covered the walls, floors, beds throughout the apartment - incredible.
RIP Vern.

I think her best style trait is the fact that she's unafraid to be herself. Her look is very studied and shows care for her personality and personal expression. I admire her for wearing herself on her sleeve as it were.
