i've developed a childhood fear of men in shorts after seeing a particular hairy man without the suitable body wear shorts that were too short.
i think i'm only starting to get over it now.
The man in the 1st pic is obviously stylish and looks great, but if it's cold enough for a big, thick cardigan, it's cold enough for pants, no?

There must be something in the air this week. I brought home a pair of shorts for my husband -- flat front and cut lean to counteract the baggy cargos he has been wearing.
Judging from the other comments, I am not the only one who decided to take on the stylist role in respect to their husband. Love is in the air!

Both outfits are perfect lengths for the short and the attire compliments the overall look. I might have exchanged the heavy shawl sweater with an over the shoulder v neck or light cardigan. But still, both subjects look dashing and you captured the essence as you always do!
everything about the first look is perfect. also, I disagree with the comment that shorts and a cardigan should not be worn together. the sleeves are rolled and the cardigan is left open. he looks so relaxed.

I cannot begin to express my love for both these pictures! I love them in so many ways for so many different reasons! They are so inspiring!The second picture..I love the length of his shorts and his boat shoes and his bag! His attitude of "I am too cool for society" is definitely displayed and it is part of what I like about it! The first picture...I love how the short are rolled up a bit and how he has white ked type sneakers and especially his very comfy looking cardigan! Love it!

Shorts that are too tailored and too "tight" look funny.
They look uncomfortable and they look like underwear. I'm not advocating wearing baggy shorts that go lower than the knee but the guy in the second photo doesnt look very appealing.
I love the first one's cardigan. If it fit, I would wear his whole outfit.

it all seems for effortless for the gent in the first photo. He doesn't seem to mind, or realize, that he's contradicting himself in his outfit but he knows he looks damn good. I think thats the perennial quality in fashion. aesthetic over practicallity.

I love the shorter and slimmer cuts these days. I'm so done with baggy cargo shorts but some boys can't seem to let go.

The first man has one of the most seductive looks I have ever seen pictured here.
Just a practical note regarding the cardigan and short combo... for eastcoast summers with indoor airconditioning the cardigan is a MUST to go from indoors to out (I'm wearing this combo in my office right now).

The first guy falls under the category of "he can wear ANYTHING" this is not the rule for the rest of humanity, including the nice young man in the second pic.
People in Scott's photos usually wear lots of clothes. So I'm glad to see two guys with just a few simple pieces on - and it looks great, especially the second one! You just have to make the right choices.

The first look, the guy was also photographed in Jak and Jill, he is divine . . . he is perfect in every sense possible. The cardigan adds more volume on the top to balance the narrow cut shorts, it's unexpected but refined all at the same time. Love.

I really don't understand what is so goo about the first look.
to me, the sweater looks much to think to ever be paired with shorts. And I have a huge problem with the fact that the shirt and shorts so are the same color, and almost look as if he is wearing a unitard.
